What are the key features of Peak Performance women’s jackets. How does the brand combine functionality with fashion. Why are Peak Performance jackets popular among outdoor enthusiasts.
The Origins of Peak Performance: From Ski Slopes to Global Recognition
Peak Performance, a brand synonymous with technical sportswear, traces its roots back to 1986. Four Swedish skiers, driven by a passion for performance and style, laid the foundation for what would become a globally recognized name in outdoor apparel. Their initial goal was simple yet ambitious: to design technical sportswear that could enhance their performance on the ski slopes.
From these humble beginnings, Peak Performance has evolved into a brand that seamlessly blends functionality with fashion. Today, it is renowned not just for its technical prowess but also for its pared-back aesthetic and enduring quality. This unique combination has allowed Peak Performance to transcend the boundaries of purely functional sportswear and enter the realm of style-conscious outdoor enthusiasts.
The Hallmarks of Peak Performance Women’s Jackets
Peak Performance jackets for women are characterized by several key features that set them apart in the crowded outdoor apparel market:
- Clever functions and features designed to enhance performance
- Utilitarian designs with a driven and enhanced edge
- A range that includes down jackets, windbreakers, and shell styles
- Professional and pioneering approach to jacket design
- Commitment to being both fashion-forward and functionally fit
These jackets are not just about looking good; they’re engineered to perform in challenging outdoor conditions while maintaining a stylish appearance. This dual focus on form and function is what makes Peak Performance jackets a favorite among women who refuse to compromise on either style or performance.
Technical Innovation: The Core of Peak Performance Jackets
At the heart of every Peak Performance jacket lies a commitment to technical innovation. How does this manifest in their products? Let’s explore some of the key technological features:
Advanced Insulation Technologies
Peak Performance utilizes cutting-edge insulation materials in their jackets. For instance, their down jackets often feature high-quality, responsibly sourced down that provides excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. This allows for maximum thermal efficiency without the bulk, ensuring wearers stay warm without feeling weighed down.
Weather-Resistant Fabrics
Many Peak Performance jackets incorporate advanced weather-resistant fabrics. These materials are designed to repel water, block wind, and allow moisture to escape from within. This trifecta of protection ensures that wearers remain dry and comfortable, even in challenging weather conditions.
Breathability and Ventilation
Understanding the importance of temperature regulation during physical activity, Peak Performance integrates breathable fabrics and strategic ventilation systems into their jackets. This helps prevent overheating and allows for a comfortable range of motion, whether you’re skiing down a slope or hiking a challenging trail.
The Aesthetic Appeal: Scandinavian Design Meets Outdoor Functionality
While technical performance is crucial, Peak Performance doesn’t overlook the importance of aesthetic appeal. The brand’s Scandinavian heritage is evident in the clean lines, minimalist designs, and sophisticated color palettes of their jackets. How does this design philosophy translate into their products?
- Sleek silhouettes that flatter various body types
- Versatile color options that range from classic neutrals to bold statement hues
- Thoughtful details that add visual interest without compromising functionality
- A timeless aesthetic that transcends fleeting fashion trends
This approach to design ensures that Peak Performance jackets are not just functional pieces of outdoor gear, but versatile garments that can transition seamlessly from the mountains to urban environments. It’s this versatility that has contributed significantly to the brand’s popularity among women who lead active lifestyles but also value style.
Sustainability: A Growing Focus for Peak Performance
In recent years, Peak Performance has increasingly emphasized sustainability in their product development. How is this commitment to environmental responsibility reflected in their women’s jackets?
Eco-Friendly Materials
Many Peak Performance jackets now incorporate recycled materials, reducing the brand’s reliance on virgin resources. For example, some jackets feature shells made from recycled polyester, which helps to minimize environmental impact without compromising on performance.
Responsible Down Standard (RDS) Certification
For their down jackets, Peak Performance adheres to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS). This ensures that the down and feathers used in their products come from birds that have been treated humanely, addressing concerns about animal welfare in the supply chain.
Durable Design for Longevity
By focusing on durability and timeless design, Peak Performance encourages consumers to view their jackets as long-term investments rather than disposable fashion items. This approach aligns with the growing movement towards slow fashion and reduced consumption.
The Range: Exploring Peak Performance Women’s Jacket Styles
Peak Performance offers a diverse range of jacket styles to cater to various activities and preferences. Let’s take a closer look at some of the key categories:
Down Jackets
Peak Performance down jackets, such as the Frost Hooded Down Jacket, offer exceptional warmth in a lightweight package. These jackets are ideal for cold weather activities or as a stylish layer for urban winter wear. Available in various colors, including classic black and crisp white, they combine thermal efficiency with versatile style.
Ski Jackets
The brand’s ski jackets, like the Ski Blackfire Hooded Down Jacket, are designed to withstand harsh mountain conditions. These jackets often feature additional technical elements such as powder skirts, helmet-compatible hoods, and multiple pockets for ski essentials. Despite their technical nature, they maintain a sleek, fashionable appearance.
Lightweight Performance Jackets
For activities that require freedom of movement and breathability, Peak Performance offers lightweight options like the Rider Zip Jacket. These jackets are perfect for activities such as running, hiking, or as a versatile layering piece for unpredictable weather.
Shell Jackets
Shell jackets in the Peak Performance line, such as the Anima Hipe Core + Ski Jacket, provide excellent protection against wind and rain. These jackets are designed to be worn alone in milder conditions or layered with insulating pieces for colder weather, offering year-round versatility.
Fit and Sizing: Ensuring Comfort and Performance
A crucial aspect of any performance jacket is its fit. How does Peak Performance approach sizing and fit to ensure optimal comfort and functionality for women?
- Range of sizes to accommodate different body types
- Articulated designs that allow for freedom of movement
- Strategic placement of seams to prevent chafing during activities
- Adjustable features like hem drawcords and hood cinches for a customized fit
Peak Performance jackets are designed to offer a balance between a flattering silhouette and performance-oriented fit. This attention to fit ensures that wearers can move comfortably and confidently, whether they’re engaging in high-intensity outdoor activities or navigating urban environments.
Care and Maintenance: Prolonging the Life of Your Peak Performance Jacket
To ensure that a Peak Performance jacket remains a long-lasting investment, proper care and maintenance are essential. What are some key tips for caring for these technical garments?
Cleaning
Always follow the care label instructions specific to your jacket. Generally, Peak Performance jackets should be washed in cold water using a gentle, technical wash designed for outdoor gear. Avoid using fabric softeners or bleach, as these can damage the technical properties of the fabric.
Drying
Most Peak Performance jackets should be tumble-dried on low heat or air-dried. For down jackets, adding clean tennis balls to the dryer can help restore loft and prevent clumping of the down fill.
Storage
Store your jacket in a cool, dry place. Avoid compressing down jackets for long periods, as this can reduce their insulating properties. For technical shell jackets, ensure they are completely dry before storage to prevent mold and mildew.
Reproofing
Over time, the water-repellent finish on technical jackets may wear off. Periodically reproof your jacket using a specialized product to maintain its water-resistant properties.
By following these care instructions, you can significantly extend the life of your Peak Performance jacket, ensuring it continues to perform and look great season after season.
The Investment: Understanding the Value of Peak Performance Jackets
Peak Performance jackets often come with a higher price tag compared to some other outdoor brands. However, many enthusiasts argue that the investment is worthwhile. What factors contribute to the value proposition of these jackets?
- High-quality materials that ensure durability and long-lasting performance
- Advanced technologies that provide superior protection against the elements
- Versatile designs that can be used across various activities and settings
- Timeless aesthetics that resist going out of style
- Commitment to sustainability, aligning with conscious consumer values
When considering the cost per wear and the longevity of Peak Performance jackets, many users find that the initial investment pays off over time. The combination of durability, functionality, and style means these jackets often become go-to pieces in a woman’s wardrobe, whether for outdoor adventures or everyday wear.
Peak Performance in Action: Real-World Applications
To truly appreciate the capabilities of Peak Performance jackets, it’s helpful to consider their real-world applications. How do these jackets perform in various scenarios?
Winter Sports
On the ski slopes, Peak Performance jackets shine. Their insulation keeps skiers warm on chilly lifts, while their breathability prevents overheating during intense runs. Water-resistant properties keep snow at bay, ensuring comfort throughout the day.
Hiking and Trekking
For hikers and trekkers, Peak Performance jackets offer protection against unpredictable mountain weather. Lightweight options provide easy layering, while more robust jackets offer comprehensive protection for multi-day adventures.
Urban Exploration
In city environments, Peak Performance jackets seamlessly blend technical performance with urban style. They protect against rain and wind during commutes while maintaining a polished appearance suitable for various settings.
Travel
The versatility of Peak Performance jackets makes them excellent travel companions. Their ability to perform across different climates and activities means travelers can pack lighter without sacrificing preparedness.
These real-world applications demonstrate the true value of Peak Performance jackets. Their ability to perform across diverse scenarios while maintaining style and comfort is a testament to the brand’s commitment to excellence in design and functionality.

iPhone Battery Health Percentage: What It Means

- 7 How to disable iPhone battery performance management
- 8 What affects iPhone battery health
- 9 Why do older iPhones run slower?
- 10 When to change your iPhone battery
Two years ago, Apple admitted that it deliberately slowed down older iPhones such as the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, and iPhone SE. In this regard, back in iOS 11.3, a menu appeared in which you can see the status of the iPhone’s battery and find out if it needs to be changed.
What is Battery Status iPhone
iOS 11.3 and later have a Battery Status menu. Just go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health. Here you will see information about the maximum capacity of your iPhone in percentage and peak performance. You will also be able to understand if your iPhone is slowing down due to Apple’s performance management feature.
What do the percentages in the iPhone battery health menu mean?
In the Battery Health menu, you will see a percentage indicating the maximum battery capacity of your iPhone, followed by a message explaining the phone’s performance status. The message you see depends on the capacity percentage. For example:
- 100%. Your battery is currently maintaining normal peak performance.
- 95%. This iPhone unexpectedly shut down because the battery was unable to provide the necessary peak power. Performance management has been included to help prevent this from happening again.
- 79% or less. The condition of your battery is significantly degraded.
- Unknown. This iPhone cannot determine the battery status. Typically, such a message appears when a poor quality battery is installed in dubious service centers.
What happens to the iPhone 11 Pro Max battery after 5 months
The 2019 iPhone 11 Pro Max shows 99 percent battery capacity almost 5 months after purchase. Apple doesn’t limit the power of the phone yet: “Your battery is currently supporting normal peak performance.”
What will happen to the iPhone 7 battery in 4 months
But how many percent of the capacity is left in the iPhone 7, which was purchased in November 2019. It is slightly smaller, but the smartphone is still able to work without any restrictions.
What will happen to the iPhone 7 battery after 4 years
What will happen next? Here for comparison is the iPhone 7, which is almost 4 years old. The battery has lost only a fifth of its capacity.
iPhone X battery health – 3 years after purchase
But what will happen if you don’t let go of your iPhone at all. If you add a Smart Battery Case to this, the battery would already have to be changed.
As you can see, the battery capacity may decrease unevenly. That is, it may well fall to 98% a week after the purchase, stay at this level for a while, and then drop to 94%. It all depends on the factors below. If you use only original chargers and use your smartphone as usual, there should be no problems, and the battery capacity will decrease more or less evenly. For example, after one year, 5% of the capacity will “leave”, in the second year – another 10%. And this is the norm.
How to turn off iPhone battery performance management
When the battery reaches 80% capacity and below, performance problems may begin to occur due to the fact that the smartphone will forcefully reduce processor power in order to minimize power surges and not provoke spontaneous reboots. You’ll also see another message at the bottom of the screen that warns that your iPhone’s battery is “significantly low”. There will be another link that will point you to a page on how to service your phone.
If your device shuts down due to low battery, this same screen will indicate that “performance management has been applied”. It will also be possible to disable this feature. Please note that you cannot enable performance management again until the next time you turn off your smartphone. Your iPhone will automatically enable it if this ever happens. The performance management feature is only available on the iPhone starting with the 6s model, and therefore it is useless to look for it on earlier devices.
What affects the condition of the iPhone’s battery
Some may notice that the remaining battery capacity of the iPhone is rapidly decreasing. What does it depend on? There may be several reasons:
- Charging with a non-original adapter, which leads to more wear.
- Using the iPhone at peak power (if you play it all the time and don’t let it go at all). Games, editing and watching video over LTE are quite resource-intensive processes that can provoke increased energy consumption.
- Charging your phone in your car or with a wireless device without Apple certification.
Why are older iPhones slower?
Why did we get such a menu at all? According to Apple, it did not have the goal of forcing customers to purchase a new model. It’s just that over time, lithium-ion batteries gradually lose their ability to store energy and work in low temperatures, which, in turn, can lead to spontaneous shutdown of the smartphone to protect the hardware. The feature is actually useful, but Apple didn’t offer any alternative before, and many iPhone owners suffered from it. In a sense, it was “foolproof” – so that the user does not overload his iPhone if the battery is already running on its last legs.
When to change your iPhone battery
The standard lithium-ion battery that comes with all iPhones, regardless of model, is rated to retain 80% capacity after 500 full charge cycles. According to Apple experts, when this value is reached, the battery must be replaced.
In fact, you only need to sound the alarm in one case – if the maximum battery capacity is very close to 80%. In all other cases, continue to use your iPhone safely.

The main supercomputer of the Russian Academy of Sciences has a chance not to fly out of the world Top 500

On the verge of being knocked out of a prestigious world ranking
of the most powerful supercomputers in the world, the chief computer scientist of the Russian Academy of Sciences got a chance to stay in
this list due to ongoing cluster upgrades. However, questions about
what kind of performance it will achieve, and whether its owners will become
submit new data to the rating are open.
Main upgrade
supercomputer RAS
Performance of the main supercomputer of the Russian Academy
Sciences (RAS) MVS-10P, based in its Interdepartmental Supercomputer
center (MSC) in the coming months will be significantly increased. It may
allow this cluster to remain in the list of the most powerful computers in the world Top
500, in which he now occupies only 459th line and without an upgrade for sure
will leave the rating at its next (occurs once every six months) update in June
2017 under the onslaught of new machines put into operation.
The increase in computing capacity of the MSC will take place as part of the
execution of the contract based on the results of the tender for the supply of
related equipment. There was only one bid for the auction.
– from the RSK Technologies company, which originally created the MVS-10P in 2012,
therefore, the contract was concluded with her without reducing the starting price – for p114. 48 million
Until March 31, 2017, the RSC will have to supply at least 88 computing
nodes with a total peak performance of at least 102 Tflops.
Supercomputer facilities of the MSC RAS are preparing for an upgrade
In addition, in December 2016 RSK Technologies became
the sole bidder for the overhaul of MVS-10P. IN
under the contract for p30 million received as a result of it, the company also until March 31
will have to replace 27 computing nodes, the improper operation of which, as
follows from the terms of reference, now negatively affects the actual
the performance of the existing (non-modernized) system.
Cluster history
MVS-10P was put into operation in 2012 with peak
with a performance of 523.8 Tflops and performance on a specialized
Linpack test at 375.7 Tflops. The last of these parameters determined
ranking of the system in the Top 500 rating – in November 2012, the calculator ranked in
it is line 59.
A fragment of the name of the supercomputer “10P” implied that
the system can be scaled up to a peak performance of 10 Pflops, and in the MSC
in 2012 made plans for its rapid and significant upgrade to the specified
values. However, all subsequent years, the performance of MVS-10P declared in the Top 500
never changed, so with each new rating update, the cluster lost
positions.
At the same time, the analysis of the public procurement website shows that, starting from
2014, the MSC (or its parent organization) held competitions several times
procedures, the names of which imply the supply of equipment for the MVS-10P upgrade.
With the exception of one insignificant tender, the winner is everywhere
became RSK.
So in July 2014 the company got a contract for p30.096 million,
in November 2014 — by p9.804 million, in November 2015 — by p39.970 million, in September
2016 — by p41.258 million
What exactly was upgraded
or several subsystems MVS-10P
The question of where exactly did the extra 120 million purchased
equipment, in the RSC group explained CNews by the appearance of auxiliary
relation to MVS-10P subsystems.
“In the second half of 2014, RSC specialists were
a functional extension of the MVS-10P supercomputer based on
massively parallel architecture RSC PetaStream, namely the additional
computer system MVS-10P MP based on 64 newest and most
productive at that time processors Intel Xeon Phi 7120D. – indicate in
companies. – Its peak performance was 77.33 Tflops. That is, the total
peak performance of the computing resources of the MSC RAS by the end of 2014
reached 601.16 Tflops.”
Also in the RSC indicate that at the end of 2015 and in 2016 in the MSC
MVS-10P, MVS-10P were upgraded on Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3/v4 processors
MP, and also launched another unnamed subsystem and implemented
high-speed Intel Omni-Path interconnect.
Andrey Vratsky, eXpress – how to build a corporate superapp
Business
As can be judged from the data of the local rating of the most powerful
supercomputers in Russia and the CIS countries Top 50, as a result of these works with
constant peak performance of 523.83 Tflops MVS-10P performance
for Linpack grew from 375.7 to 383.21 Tflops. The declared indicators of MVS-10P MP remained
the same as in 2014, and the achieved indicators of the new nameless
systems amounted to 48.92 and 45.90 Tflops, respectively.
“Total total peak performance of computing
RSC systems in the MSC at the moment is 650. 08 Tflops, that is
relative increase in their productivity from 2014 to 2016. exceeded 24%”, —
summarized in the RSC.
At the same time, the company adds that despite the interconnectedness
MSC systems and the ability to perform certain or infe calculations on them simultaneously, in
ratings can only submit performance indicators for individual clusters,
because the Linpack test does not allow you to run it efficiently on distributed
computing resources.
Will MVS-10P advance
in the Top 500?
10 Easy Steps to Reduce Employee Travel and Save 30% on Your Corporate Vehicle Fleet Budget
BY
To what extent is the new upgrade to be completed
until March 31, 2017 will affect the MVS-10P, and in which of its subsystems, CNews find out
RSK and MSC failed. The RSC reported that while the work has not been completed and no
permission has been obtained from the customer for the public presentation of information (“what
is a common practice in this area of activity”), the company cannot
disclose all the details of ongoing projects. “However, it can be noted that
after their completion, the total peak performance of supercomputer
RSC systems in the MSC RAS will grow by almost 40% compared to the end of 2014,” —
added to RSC.
The company also noted that testing and
submitting their results to the ratings is voluntary. “It is important to understand that MSC
acquires computing systems for solving quite specific applied
tasks facing the scientific teams of the Russian Academy of Sciences and other third-party
organizations, and not to participate in the ratings, – argue in the RSC. – In addition, for
running a benchmark like Linpack requires a complete halt of all other work
in the center for a long time. This is practically impossible, because
current users of their systems have clear plans for performing calculations.”
In the understanding of the RSC, usually a complete set of tests, including Linpack,
is carried out at the stage of the initial installation of the supercomputer, when it passes the
testing or trial operation, and such test results are updated
very rarely – “almost never”.
