Testimonials
“We have always incorporated some type of overload bat in our weekly work as an offensive group. What our hitters really like about the WhipStick is the instant feedback they receive in their swings. They feel how to generate bat speed and enter the hitting zone the correct way. What is fantastic about the WhipStick is the fact players get to coach themselves and feel the proper sequence in their swings. This product can be used by hitters at every level, for multiple purposes, and we believe is a must have for any hitting coach.”
-Aaron Sutton, Manager, Fort Myers Miracle (Minnesota Twins A+ affiliate)
“Our hitters have been using the WhipStick for hitting drills since the fall 2018, they have completely embraced the feel and task of controlling the barrel through the swing.”
-Carl Iwasaki, Head Baseball Coach, University Northern Colorado, custom bundle order
“We just incorporate WhipStick in our daily hitting drills this winter. There is something to be gained from them by every hitter in our program. Our guys who have struggled with the rhythm and timing of their load have made a lot of progress in a short period of time and the players love the instant feedback.”
-Kevin Davis, Head Baseball Coach, Pierce College, Model 40 and Model 42
“It works so well for my son. He loves it, has fun too.”
-Pat W, Model 36 for 9 year old son

Why the tamer changed his whip to a conductor’s baton – Yarreg
The luckiest were the sisters – young Chara and Rada. Tirelessly, like kittens, they rustle like a piece of cellophane caught in sawdust. Suddenly the courtyard of the Yaroslavl Circus, where we are reporting from, resounds with a terrible roar. This was reminded of one of the walkers – Ulya, the star of the Sumatran Tigers attraction. Its leader, Nikolai Pavlenko, does not show the slightest concern about this, commenting:
– Just shows his absurd disposition from nothing to do.
Tigers, according to him, are always full of secret, disturbing passions. It is impossible even for a person familiar with the works of the great physiologists Pavlov and Sechenov to guess about their causes. The nobility of tigers, who always warn the hunter in advance of an attack, is in circus conditions in a mysterious combination with cunning and vindictiveness, especially among tigresses.
At the same time, it is precisely from the Sumatrans, who live solitarily in the depths of the island jungle, that something like a “causeless” street roar is always to be expected: in comparison with our freedom-loving Ussuri, these are much more secretive and unbalanced. Talking about his attraction, Pavlenko did not consider it necessary to hide the fact that the sharpness of the steel claws of the tigresses is not by hearsay (“I was probably beaten more than all the trainers,” – so, without further ado, he himself talks about it). It didn’t take long for him to gain the wisdom of suffering, suggesting that the aggression of a predator can be controlled in the arena only by skillfully yielding to an angry beast.
No one is on duty at the net in the Pavlenko attraction with a fire alarm. The trainer never takes with him a pistol loaded with blanks, which is due to him according to the state. Instead of a whip, he has a light stack in his hand, he manipulates it in the rhythm of the music like a conductor’s baton. Pavlenko has more than enough courage, but there is no fear at all. He explained this with one phrase: “I am not afraid of them, because I do not see enemies in them.”
The Sumatrans, and especially the Sumatrans, answer him in kind. They express their confidence according to the upper class: why do they multiply in captivity in vain. For a quarter of a century, Pavlenko’s servants and he himself “delivered” sixty-two times. The sympathies of these gluttonous cats, in whose daily diet there are five kilograms of meat and a couple of full, topful, handful of vitamin pills, Pavlenko achieves every day by not breaking their nature through the knee, firmly knowing that these cats will never learn to purr.
Pavlenko doesn’t force them to do things they can’t do by nature, such as somersaults over their heads. His famous attraction is all built on jumping, balance, tiger stances on their hind legs. Sometimes at rehearsals, demanding clean and well-coordinated work in the “mass scenes” of the finale, he is forced to show firmness in order to insist on his own. But here are honest “market” relations: they say, if you want to eat, earn money.
The tamer never shows himself to be an omniscient superman conqueror, but he does not skimp on praise, on all his usual “bravushkas” and “you, my dolls”. By profession, Nikolai Pavlenko is a livestock specialist, before the circus he worked in menageries, and at least because of this experience, he did not even try to tame any of his pupils. Nikolai Karpovich has only one tender-hearted Bengali Ted, who grew up, one might say, in his arms. He does not go to the arena, work there is not for wimps. Leash-trained Ted has a job as an advertising agent. During intermissions, photographed for family albums.
Yaroslavl, where the Sumatran Tigers are about to start touring, the tamer calls the “happy city”. Here, in the eightieth year, one of his favorites, clever Astra, was born in an aviary. Here, at the factory, they once made the first cage for him, more than once they repaired a folding mesh fence, invented by Pavlenko’s teacher, Alexander Nikolaevich Alexandrov-Fedotov.
Just from here, twelve years ago, a trainer went to try his luck at the international competition in Monte Carlo. He returned with a circus Oscar – the Golden Clown prize. Before him, only five were awarded such an honor in the domestic circus. Approximately the same or slightly more winners of the State Prize, and Nikolai Pavlenko, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, is one of them.
But the winged praise “Karajan in a Cage”, which a German journalist bestowed on the Russian tamer for the elegance of style by the name of the great musician, is pure ex-clusive. He can only compete in accuracy with Oleg Popov’s “solar clown”, a truly royal compliment that once flown from the lips of the Queen of Belgium.
