e. used in the work of law enforcement officers.
A rubber stick (PR, police baton, rubber baton) is used to defend against blows and deliver them, with the help of a stick you can hold and control your opponent.
Types of police batons differ significantly in design, weight, thickness and length.
Initially, sticks were made of wood, then they switched to rubber and various polymeric materials, metal batons are the least common.
A rubber stick can be flexible or inflexible. Inflexible police batons have a metal core inside them.
Telescopic batons are usually made of metal, can bend, have a length of twenty centimeters when folded and sixty when unfolded. The baton can be unfolded both with the help of hands, and with the help of a spring built into the baton.
In the service of some units are batons with a built-in stun gun or pepper spray.
The most popular baton, at the moment, is a rubber baton with a metal rod inside and an additional flexible rubber section at the end, they try to inflict deafening blows with such a baton.
Most modern rubber batons have a handle designed for one hand, as well as a lanyard – a loop on the wrist, from accidental falling out of the hands.
Rubber sticks entered service with the police in the USSR in 1962.
