STX SC-TI X | R | S | O | X+ attack lacrosse shaft
The STX SC-TI lacrosse shaft has been part of college lacrosse for the past 10 years. STX revamped the Sc-TI this year with three shapes, X, R, & S. The STX SC-TI X is our most popular, since it has a similar shape profile of the old Surgeon SC-ti and is the lightest of the SC-TIs at 140grams, just under 5 oz. The combination of scandium and titanium produces one of the lightest and most durable shafts in the game. For those players that appreciate the metal feel, when you pick one of these up it feels light as paper, but put an end on the ground and try and bend it and it simply won’t budge. Take a look at the big guy’s sidelines and you will see these everywhere.

Maverik Lacrosse Shafts: 2019 Gear Review
As the 2019 Gear Reviews roll on, we’ve got another set of products to check out from Maverik Lacrosse. This time we’re talking about their shafts, with a specific focus on the 2019 metal offerings that Maverik has on tap, and how the consistency of a great metal shaft is a truly wonderful thing.
For Maverik’s shafts in 2019, one thing was clear before I even picked one up — the look is super toned down and streamlined, and each and every Maverik shaft for 2019 is a sleek approach to lettering, logos, and branding. Giant graphics, bright colors, and over the top looks are nowhere to be found, and what we’re left with is a professional looking simplicity that I find really attractive. I got to check out the Union, Apollo, and Caliber shafts, and each of them is has a really clean and classy look.
Union Shaft from Maverik Lacrosse
The Union shaft is part of the traditional line of shaft shapes that Maverik offers, meaning the octagonal walls of the shaft are relatively flat and without any concave areas. It’s the most common and standard shaft wall design on the market, but the Union does stand out in a couple places and one of those that jumps out immediately is the bead blasted finish, which gives the shaft a great grippy feel, without the need for much tape, if any. Picking the shaft up, you feel an instant connection with the stick, and you know your hands will never slip.
The other impressive attributes of this shaft don’t jump out at you visually, but there is plenty of other good stuff going on. The material used (Scandium/Titanium alloy) is tough and strong, but the dynamic wall taper aspect of the stick is really cool and explains how the shaft is so light, and yet so strong. What is happening here is that when the shaft is extruded, certain portions of the shaft get more material and are thicker, while other parts get less and are thinner. This allows the areas of the shaft that take the biggest beating to also be the strongest areas, and when it comes to durability and strength for a light shaft, this is a big advantage.
This is a great shaft for midfielders or attackmen who play and ride physically. It will stand up to the rigors of playing defense and throwing hard checks, but when you switch to offense you can still rip rope, dangle, and show out on the other side of the ball. The Union brings it all together in one place, and it’s a great option for the do-it-all grinders and it comes in classic silver, black, and gunmetal options.
Apollo Shaft from Maverik Lacrosse
The Apollo is Maverik’s lightest shaft, and it’s REALLY light. My first concern was that the shaft wouldn’t last very long, simply because it is so light, but to my surprise it held up well. For an offensive player looking to get the lightest shaft they can, the Apollo is a great option.
The Apollo shaft is part of Maverik’s “Speed Shape” line, meaning the two wider walls of the shaft on either side bow inwards. This allows for less metal to be used, and creates a unique shape that scorers like Joey Sankey have come to love. The shaft comes in a smooth finish or a bead blasted finish, and that extra level of choice is nice. The Apollo, like the Union shaft, also incorporates the dynamic wall taper of the shaft through the metal extrusion process, and this keeps the Apollo super light, but reinforced just enough in the right places.
Scorers, shooters, magicians – this Scandium Titanium alloy wand is for you and it comes in classic gold, silver, black, and gunmetal colors. I like options!
Caliber Shaft from Maverik Lacrosse
The Caliber shaft is Maverik’s strongest shaft. They sent me this d-pole to check out and while I feel like I could definitely do some damage with it, I was also impressed at just how the light the full length pole turned out to be. My first test of a pole is to bend it, I just can’t help myself, and when I did this with the Caliber, it really did not flex very much at all. As a former college defenseman, this made me happy. When I throw a check, I want it to stick, and I need it to matter. A stiff shaft helps my cause! There was nothing worse than a wet noodle for a pole.
The signature shape of the shaft is also interesting, as each of the four corners bow inwards at a 90 degree angle. This produces strength in the shaft design, but I also really like the feel of the indented corners, particularly for a longstick. The finish is bead blasted but feels relatively smooth, and once again, the graphics are toned down and classic.
The Caliber comes in silver or black so whether you’re looking to keep it light and classic or all black, you’re good to go. This shaft can help you hand out a good defensive beating, but it won’t hold you back one bit when you’re clearing the ball or pushing transition.
While all three of the shafts I reviewed are very different, they each maintain a couple of very important aspects when it comes to quality. Each is designed for a different purpose, and different player, but all three are stiff, strong, and very light. Each shaft design is clean and simple, and each one takes a military grade metal and applies it seamlessly to lacrosse. Add on the ABE (adjustable butt end) that comes with each shaft and we are talking about a really high-level, complete product.
Whether you’re a scorer looking for the lightest shaft out there, a grinder who does it all who wants a shaft that can do the same, or a defender looking to make a big impression, Maverik has a metal shaft that will match up with your needs.
True Lacrosse Comp SF Lacrosse Shaft Review
After years of quietly working away in the background, manufacturing shafts for some of the biggest brands in lacrosse, True Temper have finally launched their own line.
The Comp SF headlines the release and when you look at the features it’s going to turn heads.
With features like their exclusive “SmartPly” composite shaft design, revolutionary grip coating, extremely lightweight design and various “SmartFlex” options, it rubs shoulders with the leading shafts in the market.
Material & weight
The shaft weighs 6.2 oz, which put’s in in the light range. It’s actually 0.1oz lighter than its sister, the 7075 alloy shaft.
The shaft is a carbon fibre shaft and is manufactured using their exclusive SmartPly process. This involves fibres being placed at specific optimised angles and constructed into a unidirectional carbon fibre layer. Up to 25 of these layers goes into each shaft.
This gives you a highly optimised shaft design which scientifically places the carbon fibres to give you a super strong shaft.
One big question I had about carbon fibre shafts was whether they were any stronger than a metal shaft. But what I’ve learned is that it’s very difficult to compare because of one main difference.
Their approach to handling flex.
A metal based shaft uses its strength to work against the forces applied to keep it straight. It’s a battle between the stress applied and its strength.
Carbon fibre shafts don’t fight the stress, but actually go with it. It allows the shaft to flex which acts like a buffer to reduce the initial impact of the force. It stores the energy in the shaft and releases it at the end, giving you the whip.
The True Temper Comp SF shafts are fitted with SmartFlex, which gives you the choice of two levels of flex. The Flex 6 or the Flex 9.
The Flex 6, the model we tested, has more flex and is geared towards junior and high school players.
The Flex 9 is more firm and has less flex. It’s designed with professional and senior players in mind.
The shafts had a standard octagonal shape with a slight concave curve of the sides. This is a good thing, despite that fact that I prefer a more concave shaft.
Some shafts have a more concave shape to give them more grip. The sharper edges make it easier to hold. They do this primarily because the shaft itself has virtually no grip.
Any amount of concave curve on the Comp SF 4.0 shaft wouldn’t work. A more concave shape would make it more difficult for the grip coating to come into play. We touch on that in the next section.
One thing I noticed is that the diameter of the shaft felt a little smaller. It’s a standard 1 inch thickness, but the lack of the pointy edges you get from concave shafts make it feel so.
It’s nothing to worry about but it’s good to know ahead of time that it’ll feel different.
The grip. Oh how I love the grip!
It’s not tacky, it’s not sticky and it’s not rough. It’s ooooh so good! The weird thing is that the grip feels kind of smooth which is completely counter intuitive.
The grip is a result of tiny little glass beads or microspheres being incorporated into the shafts coating. The spheres reduce the surface area in contact with the gloves, thereby reducing the friction and allowing a faster transition of your hands on the shaft.
The surface is also matched to the palm of your gloves. So when you apply pressure to the shaft, the grip will engage and lock the two surfaces together, increasing your hold and control.
This style of grip is great for your gloves because it’s consistent throughout the length of the shaft. It doesn’t grab or catch your gloves like how grip tape or a rougher surface would.
Wear and tear
Being that we tested the Flex 6 I expected the flex to be noticeable, but it wasn’t. The shaft was very firm and none of our players remarked on it. This is good because it makes for an easier transition from other metals.
During our testing, the shaft held up very well. After a couple of weeks of there were a couple of tiny chips out of it, but they were barely visible. But the most impressive aspect was no dents. Nada.
This shaft is pretty tough.
True Temper has been manufacturing shafts for decades and it’s no surprise they’ve entered the lacrosse shaft market with a boom.
The Comp SF doesn’t hold back and oozes top quality features. Excellent grip design, outstanding SmartPly manufacturing, innovative SmartFlex features, and a light weight profile make this a top of the line shaft.
It available in black, red, blue and white with a 6 month warranty.

If you’re playing advanced levels of lacrosse, you’re probably going to want a shaft that’s made of stronger materials, like carbon fiber. Before purchasing any lacrosse stick, it is vital to find out the purpose for which you would be using the stick. Spending some time researching is going to prove to be immensely beneficial while purchasing a lacrosse stick.
This will help you thoroughly go through the features of the stick before actually purchasing one. Decide what is important to you and what position do you occupy in the field. This will help you in choosing a product which can provide you the performance that you desire.
The first and foremost criterion to look into while purchasing any product is the price factor. You can easily purchase a basic stick under $50. However, a professional-quality lacrosse stick can cost you hundreds of dollars.
If you are new to the sport, then there is no point in investing hundreds of dollars on a stick while you are just learning the game and trying to develop some skills. Beginners should always look for budget-friendly options without comprising the quality of the product. If you want to participate in any league, then you will have to spend a certain amount on higher quality.
You can choose to purchase a complete stick or you can choose to purchase the shaft and head separately. It is entirely up to you. Professional players prefer purchasing each piece separately depending on their requirements. If you are a beginner, then it is best to opt for a complete stick which is durable and fits within your budget. Lacrosse sticks come in numerous colors.
These just convey your style choices and preferences. You can pick a stick of color that complements your uniform or your team color. Make sure to look into the recommended age group while purchasing any lacrosse stick. An adult lacrosse stick can prove to be too heavy or big for children. Make sure to purchase a stick of correct size if you do not want the stick size to impact the game in a negative manner.

Owing the best lacrosse stick can elevate your gaming experience. Having the right stick will only help you improve your power and speed, but will also help you remain immersed while playing the game. Purchasing a lacrosse stick is not as simple as purchasing a cricket bat or a tennis racquet.
Many players prefer purchasing the head and the stick separately. This can prove to be overwhelming for beginners as they are clueless about how to proceed.
This is the reason why beginners need to opt for ready-made sticks. This guide helps you learn everything you need to know about purchasing one of the best lacrosse sticks.
Anatomy of a Lacrosse Stick
The key gear in the game of lacrosse is your lacrosse stick which is also referred to as ‘Crosse’. It comprises two separate parts, the shaft, and the head. The shaft is the portion that you grasp in order to wield it.
The head is utilized to catch the ball during the game and to cradle it. Although you can use other accessories such as pads, shoes, helmets, and gloves for protection, it is the stick which is the main tool in the game of lacrosse.
There are various aspects that you need to consider while it comes to purchasing a perfect lacrosse stick. You have to keep the material in mind while purchasing a lacrosse stick. Some are durable despite being lighter and some are brittle despite being heavier.
The most popular material options are Scandium, Titanium, Composite and Aluminum Alloy. In certain lacrosse sticks, the heads are much more detailed.
Lacrosse heads are comprised of different parts. These include:
The role of this portion is to pull balls from the group. The dimensions of the scoop are measured in terms of width and ‘drop’. The dip in the scoop center is referred to as the ‘drop’. Better accuracy is promised when the drop is more. When the drop is lesser, it becomes easier for a player to fire the ball from the ground.
The sidewall impacts the stiffness and strength of the stick head. These, therefore, help in determining the effectiveness of checks. The sidewalls range from being very stiff to very flexible. Defensive players can opt for heavier heads.
This area is responsible for holding the ball. These can either be factory strung or unstrung during purchase. You need to opt for a pre-strung pocket if you are new to save yourself from trouble and a lot of work. It is vital to consider the width of the pocket as well.
If you want to get better at blocking, then you need to opt for wider pockets, although they are less accurate and a bit slower. New players should always purchase lacrosse sticks with wider pockets and are a little easier to catch.
This tends to describe the decrease in the sidewall or rail. This relates to the center of the handle. The more is the offset, the more is the improvement in cradling. This is because the handle of the pocket will be further behind due to the increase in offset.
Equipment Used in Lacrosse
Though there is more contact of players in boys’ lacrosse when compared to girl’s lacrosse, the players do collide and meet with accidental injuries. This game demands strength, agility, and speed on the field.
If you wish to dominate the game, then you need to ensure that you have the best lacrosse equipment. Purchase equipment that brings out nothing but the best from you. Lacrosse sticks, helmets, apparel, cleats, elbow, and shoulder pads are the most common equipment that every lacrosse player owns.
Sprains and strains are more common in this game along with concussions. It is not rare to see a lacrosse player suffering from stress fractures, tendonitis, ligament tears, and bruises.
This is the reason why there are several types of equipment used in Lacrosse which serve a purpose along with offering protection to the players.
Here is a list of gear which has been approved to be used for lacrosse.
Men are required to wear helmets that come with a face mask while this rule is not applicable to women players. Make sure to always choose a helmet that has been approved by NOCSAE.
This implies that the helmet that you are using has passed all the safety regulations and has been thoroughly tested. Women players can opt for a soft helmet during the game.
Women players need to wear eye protection while playing the game. Both steel and plastic goggles are available for lacrosse players.
Plastic goggles promise better peripheral vision, whereas goggles with steel cages offer better protection to the eyes.
Lacrosse players need to always opt for shoes with ribbed soles or molded cleats. You need to use screw-in cleats only when you desire extra traction on a muddy or wet field. However, these shoes make injuries more likely.
These offer protection against tongue, cheeks, lips, and teeth. It is mandatory for all the lacrosse players to use mouth guards.
Men players need to make use of this. These offer protection to the upper body and arms. Several players choose to use rib pads and arm guards for added protection.
The lacrosse stick imparts an edge to your game. This game is one of the fastest that you can play on two feet. You need to purchase a stick that can be wielded and gripped easily.
Make sure that the head is of appropriate size and catches and cradles the ball in an effective manner. Lacrosse sticks are available in a variety of constructions and materials. Make sure to find the right fit for you. Every stick is different and players can choose to customize their stick based on their performance requirements.
Choosing the right lacrosse stick is entirely up to the player and is more of a personal choice. It is more dependent on the size and weight of the individual along with the position and the gender.
>> Best Women’s Lacrosse Sticks
Does the player wish to purchase the parts of the stick independently?
Is ready-made stick the best option for a player?
These are the questions that the players need to consider based on their experience in playing lacrosse.
How to Choose a Lacrosse Stick?
If you are a beginner, then you might find it actually confusing when it comes to purchasing a lacrosse stick. This is because there are so many factors to consider, especially if you have never played the game before.
This section helps you gain an understanding of the kind of stick setup needed by a player based on their experience and role in the game. Here are some parts of lacrosse stick that you must be aware of
- The upper part of the lacrosse stick is referred to as the ‘head’ and can be procured both unstrung and strung
- The ‘shaft’ is the lowermost handle of your stick
- Players can customize their stick with individual shafts and heads
- Complete sticks feature both shaft and the strung head
When you are looking for the base of the head, make sure it is as wide as possible. This ensures that the ball is easier to catch. Several lacrosse heads are referred to as “Universal” or “X”. Such heads have a wider base. These are less pinched in order to provide better ball control and accuracy.
As far as stringing is concerned, the best thing to do is to get a pro-strung head. Pockets that have been perfectly channeled help in easier catching, better-throwing action and in better cradling control.
Shafts are these days also mentioned as ‘handles’. These are basically made of hollow metal. Lacrosse shafts are usually made of carbon fiber composite, alloys, scandium, titanium, and aluminum. These are usually octagonal in shape and also come with a texture that imparts a better grip to the players.
The stick head is joined to the shaft with a screw for securing it in the position. Opting for a shaft material is purely on the personal preference of the player.
Titanium shafts are the strongest that you can find. If you are looking for something light in weight, then you can consider purchasing an aluminum shaft. Scandium shaft strikes a balance between the two. Composite shafts remain at a consistent temperature.

Lacrosse Stick Head
- Universal head: This shaft head comes with legal approval and can be used by all kinds of players at all levels. Universal heads adhere to NFHS and NCAA requirements.
- NFHS head: This head has been approved for use by high school students and in youth lacrosse
- NCAA head: This is legal only under games governed by NCAA rules. These heads cannot be utilized where NFHS rules are applicable.
While purchasing a lacrosse stick based on the head, it is vital to remember that the head of a goalie’s stick would be much larger when compared to other players. The head would be 10-12 inches wide under NCAA and US Lacrosse rules.
Lacrosse sticks either come with a mesh pocket or they feature traditional woven pockets. These heads are either unstrung or strung. The most commonly used pockets in lacrosse are the mesh pockets.
These are made of nylon webbing woven into the side pocket. These pockets require a few adjustments here and there. Goalies, on the other hand, prefer mesh pockets. This is because it lessens rebounds. Players who deal with passing and shooting prefer a stiffer pocket for more accuracy.
However, these pockets provide lesser control while moving and running. Traditional pockets come with nylon laces that have been woven around four adjustable leather straps.
These can be adjusted to fit any kind of shot. Pockets that are deeper provide more ball control and feel. Shallower pockets ensure quicker ball release.
A deeper pocket stick must be used by players in charge of ball-control. This is because they do a lot of dodging and passing. A shallower pocket must be chosen by fast-break players who pass the ball to longer distances.
While using a new head, lacrosse players must ensure that the pocket has been broken before the game. This is purely a personal preference in the men’s game. You can adjust the shooting strings for an ideal fit until it feels appropriate.
Shooting strings are placed horizontally near the stick head and it impacts the direction and the ball balance in a significant manner. Three or four shooting strings are commonly employed in order to create a smooth path for the ball to run out of the pocket.
Nylon strings are employed for providing a crisper feel. The strings play a crucial role in determining whether your shot will have a whip or not. The whip helps in the identification of the angle of the ball leaving the head.
The more is your whip in the stick, the lower the ball goes upon throw. The greater whip is usually preferred by players whose role is to attack.
Frequently Asked QuestionsHow to Choose a Stick Depending on Playing Position?
One thing that you must be aware of while purchasing a lacrosse stick is to go for a design based on your role and position in the game. A midfielder or an attacker prefers lighter and shorter shaft so that they can remain agiler during the course of the game.
A lacrosse shaft used by male players measures about 30”. Defensive players, on the other hand, opt for durable shafts that are long. This provides them an extended reach for throwing harder checks and for blocking shots.
These lacrosse sticks measure about 60”. A shaft for a goalie measures around 40”. This permits them to guard the goal as well as remain more agile and quick.
The heads of the stick can be easily interchanged. This implies that you can swap heads with another player in any other position without impacting the game in a negative manner.
An attacker prefers a lightweight head with maximum offset, narrow pocket and maximum scoop. This enhances ball retention and ensures that there is accuracy in the shots. Defense pockets, as well as attack pockets, are strung in a different manner.
Defenders prefer a durable and stronger head. This permits them to throw hard checks. Flat scoops are best for playing off the ground. The wider the pocket area, the better is the blocking. The major difference lies in the heads utilized by the goalies. These are quite distinct. These heads are wide and have been designed to retain the ball and to block the shots in an effective manner. What’s The Difference Between Men’s & Women’s Lacrosse Sticks?
Lacrosse sticks do not just vary based on the position of the player and the purpose being served, it also varies depending on whether they are being used by women or men on the field. The rules of women’s and men’s lacrosse differ a lot.
As per the rules, Women’s’ lacrosse involves lesser physical contact as opposed to Men’s’ lacrosse. This is the reason why gear for women comes with a little less padding. Lacrosse heads for women come with shallower pockets. The shafts are normally shorter and feature a smaller diameter. How to Choose Stick Length Based on the Position?
Midfielders and attackers make use of shorter stick that varies from 40-42 inches in length.
Goalies can be more flexible when it comes to stick length. They can make use of a stick ranging from 40-72 inches.
Younger players need to opt for a stick that would be suitable for their size rather than focusing on the stick based on their position. How to Choose a Lacrosse Stick Based on Skill Level?
A beginner (Players between the age group- 12 to 1-4 years of experience) needs to use a stick that has a flatter scoop and a wider head. This would help them in throwing, catching and picking up ground balls. Young players need to cut the shaft to a suitable length and doing this is legal as per the standards.
The shaft needs to be as long as the length from the back of the shoulder to the fingertips from the players leaving one to two inches for growth.
Advanced players need to pick a lacrosse stick based on their personal preference and position.
This helps in determining whether one should go with a non-off-set head or an offset head. Opting for an offset head promises precision, speed, and accuracy. This forces the ball for a quicker release and is best suited for a midfielder or an attacker.
A non-off set head features an extreme scoop angle which is of great help with ground balls. A stiffer head provides better control and prevents turnovers. This kind of head is ideal for midfielders and defenders.

Buying Guide Best Lacrosse Shafts
When you go buying a lacrosse shaft anywhere, should you just buy the first one that catches your eye? No. This should not be the case. You should purchase one with features that will help you ensure it is of the best quality and one that is worth your money.
The best lacrosse shafts should always provide you with ease of use and durability. Selecting a highly durable shaft is a priority so that it can serve you for long without breaking or bending.
Always check the make and design of the shaft to ensure it is made from durable materials like alloys for long life.
A good shaft that you can depend on in the field should be strong and firm. This is usually to ensure that it does not break easily if it comes into contact with another shaft while playing. It should also be able to withstand the swinging force from the player.
Any material that is prone or subject to rust is not of good quality. When choosing a good shaft for playing then you should consider one that is made up of a material resistant to Rust. This is important to ensure it stays in good shape and can be used for a long. Cleaning is also not a problem with materials resistant to rust.
Playing lacrosse may cause you to run out of breath since it requires a lot of energy. Holding a lacrosse shaft alone should not make you run out of breath thus it should be light. This is important to help ensure that using the shaft to play does not drain your energy the more, but instead it should make it more fun to play.
Swinging a shaft while shooting a ball or catching one can be quite difficult since the balls are quite small. However, the force of the ball can make you let go of the shaft if not held properly.
This should be avoided, and thus you should choose a shaft with a good grip position and material that is slip free at any weather conditions.
Other Important Considerations
- Ease of cleaning
- Number of grip positions
- Ease of use
- Design of the holding edge of the shaft

True Temper Lacrosse – In Lacrosse We Trust
True Temper Sports has been one of those companies that you never heard of, but probably used their products. According to their website, they have been designing and manufacturing shafts as a supplier for other lacrosse brands since 2004. With lacrosse growing the way that it is, they have decided to enter the market with their own brand of lacrosse shafts, True.
What this means is that there is a new brand of shafts out there, but they are by no means new to the game. They were nice enough to send us a pair of their new shafts to try out, and I am here to tell you what I found. What they sent were one of their alloy shafts and a composite. Overall, I really like the styling of both of these. It’s a simple “True” in large font in the middle of each shaft. A nice touch is also at the bottom just above the butt end where the shaft model is printed. It isn’t anything amazing, but it adds some nice style to them. Also, near the top is listed the model, grip type and flex value. Now let’s take a closer look at the alloy model.
The TRUE Alloy 2.0 shaft is what can best be described as an entry-level aluminum shaft. It is made out of the 7075 alloy, which is found in a handful of other shafts in the marketplace such as the STX Surgeon and Brine Swizzbeat. It has what they call a sandblast finish, which means that it isn’t smooth, but it isn’t what I would call a rough finish either. If you are looking for a lot of grip, I don’t think that it will replace tape or a rubberized type of finish.
As far as shape goes it is not a deep concave grip and the corners are a little sharper, rather than completely rounded off. That gives you a good feel for the stick, which is better for beginner players. If you aren’t looking to spend a ton of money on a shaft, this is definitely a good option for you. It is lightweight, relatively strong for most levels of play and priced at a point that won’t break the bank if you need to replace it (it retails around $60). It comes in the black model (shown) and silver.
From a use perspective, it comes with several holes predrilled to fit a few different brands of heads, which is great to see. Since they are only a shaft manufacturer, this makes a ton of sense. I threw a head on there, there was no rattle or anything, and it had a nice feel to it. I wouldn’t hesitate at all to recommend this to someone.
The second shaft they sent along was the COMP SF 2.0, which is a composite, rather than metal alloy. Not only does this make it a very lightweight shaft, but it give it some outstanding flex. I’ll be honest, my upper body strength is incredibly lacking to a point I’m a little ashamed to admit. With that said, I could take this shaft and visibly bend it with just my hands on each end. Noticing that right out of the box, I was a little nervous to see how it would react with passing and shooting. Regarding the grip, it is definitely a rougher grip than the alloy and the corners are a bit more rounded. I haven’t felt the need to add tape for grip on this at all and haven’t had any issues playing in the rain.
Once I put a head on there, I was really anxious to see how it performed with passing and shooting given the flex it allows. With passing, there was absolutely no difference between this and the alloy shaft. Even when throwing quicker passes, I still had no problem. Shooting was a different story. The first time I really was able to wind up, it came off the stick way earlier than I was expecting. After a few more tries, I noticed that you really can feel the bend of the stick when taking a hard shot.
The more I have used this stick, the more I love it. Shooting feels much more natural and I have a better feel for the ball when using this stick, which I was not expecting at all. I didn’t have a radar gun to see if it increases shot velocity, but I do anecdotally feel that it helped my accuracy at least a little bit. My only remaining concern is with regards to durability. I have played in a few games and several practices with it and there isn’t so much as a scratch or dent in it at all. My true (no pun intended) test for a shaft is always going to be box lacrosse, but that doesn’t start for me for a while yet, so I will post an update if there is anything major to report there. Overall, I do feel pretty confident with it at the moment.
The COMP shaft is priced really well to in comparison to competition. At around $110 retail, it is at the low end of the elite shaft lineup available and priced under other composite shafts. I don’t think you need to have a 90 MPH shot to take advantage of this technology, but you won’t be able to fully utilize it if you are not someone who takes hard, outside shots. My personal recommendation is that this shaft is definitely worth a look and it quickly has become my new gamer. The COMP shaft is shown in white, but is also available in black, blue, and red.
Both of these are good, quality shafts that come in at a competitive price point at full retail based on the pricing I’ve seen so far. If you are in the market for a new setup, I would add True to your list to check out.

SaiynHello, please tell me if you faced such a problem .. auto Infinity ex 35. In winter, the battery died. The keys were left in the car. Couldn’t open the doors. We decided to remove the plug on the PTF on the rear bumper. They gave voltage from another battery. And since then. The lamp is constantly on. With the toggle switch off and the engine off. We cannot find the problem. Thanks.

StrengthGreetings! Oil, in the area of the phasic valve, appears due to a hardened gland in the well, and not because of the valve itself.I have a 2008 year of birth. Megan, replaced the oil seal (it costs about a ruble), it became dry there. Good luck!

OttoNormul. Keep five! small question: The collar on the inner grenade has a different weight around the circumference, will this not create vibration at speed? 😉 Can you tighten it with a plastic clamp?

Error P0017 Crankshaft and camshaft position, bank 1, sensor B – correlation
Description and meaning of error P0017
This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is a generic powertrain code, so it means it applies to OBD-II equipped vehicles, including but not limited to Ford, Dodge, Toyota, VW, Honda, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Audi, Acura, etc.The crankshaft position (CKP) sensor and the camshaft position (CMP) sensor work in harmony to monitor spark / fuel delivery and timing. They both consist of an areluctor, or tone, a ring that passes over a magnetic sensor, which produces avoltage, indicating position. The crankshaft sensor is part of the basic ignitionsystem and functions as a trigger. It detects the location of crankshaftrelays that information is on to the PCM or ignition module (depending on thevehicle) in order to control the spark timing. The camshaft position sensor detects the position of the camshafts and transmits information to the PCM. PCM uses cmp signal to determine the start of the injector sequence. What ties these two shafts andtheir transducers together a timing belt or chain. The cam and crank must be precisely matched together. If the PCM detects that the arm and cam signals are out of time by a specific number of degrees, this DTC will set. Bank 1 is the side of the engine containing cylinder # 1, sensor B is most likely the side of the exhaust camshaft.Note. on some models, it is not uncommon to see this DTC in conjunction with P0008, P0009, P0016, P0018, and P0019. If you own a GM vehicle and have multiple DTCs, check the service bulletins that may apply to your engine. Symptoms of a P0017 code
P0017 symptoms will or may include: malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illumination the engine may run but with reduced performanceThe engine may crank but not startthe engine may show a ratchet near the harmonic balancer indicating damagedThe toner may start and run, but poorly
Possible causes of the P0017 code
Wiring, crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor, mechanical faultCauses may include: the timing chain is stretched, or the timing belt has a missing tooth due to wear Misalignment the timing belt / chainTone ring on the crankshaft slipped / brokenTone ring on the camshaft slipped / brokenBad crank sensorBad cam sensorDamaged wiring to the crank / cam sensorTiming belt / tensioner chain damaged incorrectly torquedshaft balancerA mis-built-in or mis-timed motor free or missing degrees
How do I resolve the P0017 code?
If your vehicle is new enough to still be covered by the powertrain warranty, please have your dealer repair it.First, visually inspect the cam and crank sensors and their harnesses for damage. If you notice broken / frayed wires, repair and recheck. If you have access to the area, check out the cam and crank models. If the pattern ismissing, suspect a bad gauge or sliding ring tone. Remove the crankshaft cam gear and harmonic balancer and check the tone rings for proper alignment and make sure they are not lost or damaged or that they have not cut off the key that creates them.If they are correctly installed, replace the sensor. If the signal appears normal, check the timing chain / belt for properalignment. If it is misaligned, check for a damaged tensioner that could allow the chain / belt to slide a tooth or multiple teeth. Also make sure the belt / chain is not tensioned. Repair and rechecking. If this DTC appears on a Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon pickup and you have a P0014 DTC at the same time, go here for a possible solution: Densolor Cam / Crank Position DTCs Please consult your factory repair manual if you need specific vehicle information .
