Gear Review: Blade Pro X6 Head by Warrior Lacrosse
[rwp-review id=”1″]
Company: Warrior Lacrosse / Product: Blade Pro X6 Head / Price: $84.99
Before I began reviewing the Blade Pro X6, I thought the process would be a little like reviewing a remake of a great film classic. To some extent, I found this to be true, as the Blade Pro is the 2013 rendition of one of the most popular face-off heads ever and is built to be the ultimate midfield head. I wasn’t sure this “remake” could stand up to the glory that has been bestowed upon the original, but I was pretty impressed with this head after taking it through a workout including tons of wall ball and shooting.
Appearance… +7.5
I’m still getting used to this whole “X6” phenomenon, and the shape of all X6 heads remind me of the old box-specific heads Warrior used to make. However, I can’t deny that this head looks pretty great strung up with some fresh white mesh. There’s certainly nothing wrong with a clean classic look!
Can’t go wrong with some clean white mesh and LAS shooters!
Stringing… +5.0
Full disclosure: I don’t string sticks. For whatever reason, I never really started to string as a kid, and for about five years I had all my sticks strung by my partner in crime of my high school’s two man game on attack. Since he was a year ahead of me and moved on to college ball, I’ve had a few other guys string my sticks since he graduated, but I haven’t let anyone who wasn’t on that high school team string my sticks until very recently. Call me superstitious if you want, but I played with those guys from youth through high school, and I trust them to know how I like my sticks strung.
So this time around, I had my former high school goalie, who now coaches at my high school, string my head. Here’s what he had to say: “It was easy enough to string [and] I got the pocket I wanted on the second try. There weren’t as many sidewall holes as most sticks nowadays like the Clutch, which is what I use and usually work with. The lack of holes didn’t affect my stringing, but I would assume it limits the overall ways you could string it.”
My buddy and former high school teammate stringing up the head.
Stiffness… +10.0
This head is built for facing off, and its stiffness fits that perfectly. It is really stiff at the top and has stout sidewalls for support but is also flexible enough to really dig in on face-offs. The stiffness also lets it have a nice “bite” on checks. Midfielders, especially face-off guys, will love this head, but I think it could work for attackmen as well. The Blade Pro also has a new “Pro Scoop” that makes it really easy to pick up ground balls.
Durability… +7.5
Besides having great stiffness and solid sidewalls, the head also has a little bit of a longer throat which provides even more support. All of this is important because as a face-off head the Blade Pro could see a lot of twisting and bending. I think Warrior did a great job reinforcing it though, and it should stand the test of time just fine.
With a pretty solid sidewall and elongated throat, the Blade Pro X6 should be fairly durable.
Value… +7.5
The Blade Pro X6 is only $84.99. For the sake of caparison, the new Rabil head is is $99.99 and an Evo 3 X is $89.00. This puts the the Blade Pro X6 at a cheaper price than other high-end Warrior heads despite being a pretty great choice, especially for FOGOs or middies.
OVERALL SCORE: 7.2/10
I think Warrior has another winner with the Blade Pro X6. While it’s nothing revolutionary, this head simply does a lot of things well, and there isn’t much more you can ask from a stick. One thing that should be mentioned, though, is the lack of offset in this head. It truly is designed for facing off, so it may take some getting used to for guys who’ve played with deep offsets their whole career. However, with the stiffness and reinforcements to both take a beating at the face-off circle and give one on defense, the Blade Pro X6 seems ideal for middies and FOGOs.
Beyond a shadow of a doubt, the Blade Pro X6 is a solid head.
Gear Review: Warrior Blade Pro Lacrosse Head
The Warrior Blade Pro isn’t just for face-off men. It’s built for the multi-tasking midfielder and more. The pro-player designed head is built with the new Pro Scoop for easy ground ball pickups for middies and defensemen.
In terms of face-offs, its minimal offset moves your hands closer to the ball for an authoritative face-off advantage, while the narrow face shape channels the ball for advanced shooting accuracy and ball retention. The head is game ready for X6 and HS play. Below is a gear review of the Warrior Blade Pro.
We’ve included a link at the top of this post, so you can purchase it right away.

Feel/Astethics
10 out of 10
Notes: The head looks awesome and is reminiscent of the original Warrior Blade. Yet, it’s much more stiff and includes an easier stringing dynamic. The original Warrior Blade would easily collapse during face-offs and pinch my sidewall strings, which allowed for the ball to get stuck. The Warrior Blade Pro, however, goes back to its natural shape after a face-off. In addition, it has a much stronger lip for picking up groundballs.
Weight/Balance
10 out of 10
Notes: It doesn’t feel as light as the original Warrior Blade, but it’s definitely still light in weight. Its strength-to-weight ratio proves to be strong. The sidewalls are reinforced and much stronger than the original Warrior Blade.
Performance
9 out of 10
Notes: I performed the typical plunger with it and it was extremely flexible. It folded right over the ball. This surprised me because I thought it wouldn’t be malleable at all due to its stiff build. The head becomes narrow towards the top of the frame, which allows the head to easily slide underneath the opponents’ head during a face-off. I’d like to see how this head holds up after a few games in the Summer heat.
Durability
10 out of 10
Notes: As of now, it’s reliable.
Lasting Impressions
I think the most important part of a FOGO’s MO is this stringing style that is used to go hand-in-hand with your head. The Warrior Blade Pro contains many, many holes along the sidewall, which allowed me to craft a high or low pocket. For this particular string job, I pulled the meshed as far down as possible at the top to form a natural channel within the pocket. I also looped the sidewall string around multiple holes within the mesh.
The dimensions of the head also negate the chance of the ball getting stuck in the back of the head. It was easy to use the plunger with and I think it’s a good face-off head. The curve of the bottom also lets me get as close to the ball as possible.

Jean-Baptiste Raymond de Lacrosse – Jean-Baptiste Raymond de Lacrosse
Jean-Baptiste Raymond de Lacrosse (Maylan, September 6, 1760)- Meilan, September 10, 1829) was a French sailor and admiral, a hero of the French Revolutionary Wars.
Raymond de Lacrosse joined the Navy in 1779 as a Marine. He rose to sanshin in 1782, to lieutenant in 1786, and to captain de Weissot in 1792. He was the military governor of Saint Lucia from 1792-1993.
In 1795 he was sent to Martinique and Guadeloupe to quell the uprisings. On his return to France, Lacrosse was arrested.
Having freed himself, he was involved in the planned invasion of Ireland in late 1796, commanding the 74-gun Droits de l’Homme . The invasion failed, and on the way back Droits de l’Homme fought on January 13, 1797 against two English frigates: “ Indefatigable” under the command of Sir Edward Pellew and “ Amazon” . Lacrosse was injured and his ship was lost when she ran aground.
Despite the loss of his ship, Lacrosse became counter-emiral.In 1799, he was sent as ambassador to Spain and, in particular, negotiated the forcible return of emigrants to France, he was offered the Naval Ministry, which he refused.
In 1802, the first consul Bonaparte appointed him captain-general of Guadeloupe. On November 1, 1801, Lacrosse was captured by the rebels while he was conducting reconnaissance from Pointe-a-Pitre. Pelage, the leader of the rebels, brought him to a Danish ship. Lacrosse went to Dominica, where he joined an expedition led by General Antoine Rischepans, and returned with her to Guadeloupe. When Richepanse died, Lacrosse took command and managed to suppress the rebellion and restore slavery.
In Guadeloupe, Lacrosse sent the military to track down farmers who were believed to be rebels and were killed without trial or investigation. Journalist Christopher Hudson wrote in the Daily Mail in 2008: “The brutality of the repression sparked a new uprising, which Lacrosse quelled with the most barbaric methods.” Hanging is not enough for the crimes they have committed, “he said. it is necessary to cut them down alive and let them die on the wheel [the prisoners were tied to the wheel of the cart before they were beaten on the arms and legs with clubs.»The prisons are already full: they need to be released as soon as possible. ‘In this he succeeded: he hanged, hit and set fire to the rebels and broke their limbs on the wheel. Lacrosse developed perhaps the most brutal slow execution instrument ever made. The prisoner was pushed into a tiny cage with a razor-sharp blade. hung between his legs. In front of him was a bottle of water and bread, which he could not reach. He stood in stirrups that held him just above the blade, but if he fell asleep or his legs got tired, he was. It was pure sadism. After four months in Guadeloupe, the French lost patience with the islanders, and the brutality of their repression reached new heights. Blacks with short hair were shot out of control as the expeditionary force saw short hair as a sign of rebellion. Orders were given that “the type of execution must serve as a gruesome example.” The soldiers were asked to cut the insurgents, strangle and burn them. ” French officers proudly poke the creation of “torture islands”. ”
Lacrosse returned to France aboard frigate Didon .Lacrosse did not know that the Peace of Amiens was over and hostilities with the British resumed. At Brest, he collided with twelve British ships of the line blocking the port. He managed to evade the blocking fleet by capturing the corvette “ Laurier” . He made it to Spain, left his prize in Santander and returned to France.
Napoleon made him a naval prefect and assigned him to command a flotilla intended to transport troops for the invasion of England.Lacrosse was appointed commander of the Legion of Honor at the founding of the Order. When Admiral Brux died in 1805, Lacrosse succeeded him as Commander-in-Chief of the Fleet.
Lacrosse retired in 1815 and died in his hometown of Meilhan on September 10, 1829.

90,000 US allowed to carry knives and ski poles on board – Ukraine news, Transport
The United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) allowed aircraft passengers to carry small pocket knives on board for the first time since the September 11, 2001 attacks. TSA announced that from April 25 this year, it will be possible to take knives with blades 6 centimeters long or less, and no more than 1-1 / 4 centimeters wide, on board.
According to BFM.RU, other items that will again be allowed to carry as carry-on luggage include ski poles, billiard cues, hockey sticks and lacrosse equipment. Some other items that were banned from carrying on board after the attacks are still banned, such as razors, cutters or floppy-bladed knives.
TSA spokesman David Castelveter said the decision was made to bring American regulations more in line with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization, which should make life easier for travelers.
“This is all part of an overall risk-based safety system. It allows transport security officials to focus their efforts on finding items that pose a much more serious hazard, such as explosives, “said Castelveter.
The Union of Flight Attendants, representing the interests of some 90,000 air crew members, called the TSA decision short-sighted and that the new rules endangering the lives of all flight attendants and passengers
Castelveter responded by saying that TSA had introduced a number of security measures, including armored cockpit doors. In addition, some pilots may be armed and federal marshals are on board. According to the official representative of the regulator, these measures will help ensure the safety of passengers and crew on board.
Recall that after the 11 September 2001 hijacked planes by terrorists attacked New York and Washington, the US government introduced strict rules for bringing items on board, which in some respects differed from the requirements in other countries.
