Looking for authentic USA Softball merchandise. Where can you find official Team USA softball clothing and gear. How to support your favorite players with licensed apparel.
The Ultimate Guide to USA Softball Clothing and Merchandise
For fans and players alike, wearing official USA Softball apparel is a great way to show support for the national team and the sport. This comprehensive guide covers everything you need to know about finding authentic Team USA softball clothing, gear, and accessories.
Official USA Softball Apparel: What’s Available?
USA Softball offers a wide range of official merchandise for fans and players. Some of the most popular items include:
- Jerseys and replica uniforms
- T-shirts and tank tops
- Hoodies and sweatshirts
- Hats and visors
- Shorts and pants
- Socks and accessories
These items often feature the iconic USA Softball logo, team colors of red, white, and blue, and sometimes player names and numbers for the biggest stars on the national team.
Are there differences between fan gear and on-field apparel?
Yes, there are typically distinctions between fan merchandise and the actual uniforms worn by players:
- On-field apparel: Made with high-performance fabrics, exact team specifications, and often more expensive
- Fan gear: More affordable, comfortable for everyday wear, and available in a wider variety of styles
Where to Buy Authentic USA Softball Merchandise
To ensure you’re getting genuine USA Softball products, it’s important to purchase from authorized retailers. Here are some reliable sources:
- The official USA Softball online store
- Major sporting goods retailers (both online and in-store)
- Official team shops at softball venues during international competitions
- Licensed NCAA softball merchandise outlets (for collegiate players who also represent Team USA)
Be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true from unfamiliar websites, as counterfeit merchandise is unfortunately common in the sports apparel market.
Supporting Your Favorite Players with Personalized Gear
Many fans enjoy wearing jerseys or shirts featuring the names and numbers of their favorite USA Softball players. Popular choices often include:
- Monica Abbott
- Cat Osterman
- Haylie McCleney
- Aubree Munro
- Kelsey Stewart
When purchasing personalized items, check the official roster to ensure you’re getting current player information. Keep in mind that player-specific merchandise may be more expensive than generic team apparel.
Can you get custom USA Softball jerseys with your own name?
Some retailers offer customization options allowing you to put your own name and chosen number on a USA Softball-style jersey. However, these are typically considered novelty items and are not official team merchandise.
USA Softball Clothing for Youth Players and Fans
Inspiring the next generation of softball players is a key mission for USA Softball. As such, there’s a great selection of youth-sized apparel and gear available:
- T-shirts and jerseys in children’s sizes
- Youth batting gloves and accessories
- Softball equipment sized for younger players
- Team USA softball-themed toys and games
These items can make great gifts for young softball enthusiasts and help foster a connection to the national team.
Collectible USA Softball Merchandise and Memorabilia
Beyond wearable items, there’s a market for USA Softball collectibles and memorabilia. Some popular options include:
- Autographed softballs and equipment
- Limited edition posters and prints
- Game-used items from major tournaments
- Commemorative pins and patches
For serious collectors, look for items with certificates of authenticity when purchasing signed or game-used memorabilia.
How can you authenticate USA Softball collectibles?
To ensure the authenticity of collectible items:
- Purchase from reputable dealers or directly from USA Softball events
- Look for official holograms or seals of authenticity
- Research the item’s provenance and compare signatures to known examples
- Consider using third-party authentication services for high-value items

Caring for Your USA Softball Apparel
To keep your USA Softball clothing looking great for years to come, follow these care tips:
- Always check the garment’s care label for specific instructions
- Wash performance fabrics in cold water to maintain their moisture-wicking properties
- Avoid using fabric softeners, which can degrade technical materials
- Air dry or use low heat settings to prevent shrinkage and damage to prints or appliques
- Store jerseys and collectable items flat or on padded hangers to maintain their shape
Proper care will help preserve both the appearance and functionality of your USA Softball gear.
How do you remove stains from white USA Softball uniforms?
For tough stains on white uniforms:
- Pre-treat the stain as soon as possible with a sports-specific stain remover
- For grass or dirt stains, create a paste with baking soda and water, apply to the stain, and let sit before washing
- Use oxygen-based bleach for colored uniforms or chlorine bleach for all-white items (check care labels first)
- For persistent stains, consider professional cleaning services that specialize in sports uniforms
The Impact of Wearing USA Softball Apparel
Donning official USA Softball clothing goes beyond just fashion – it can have a meaningful impact:
- Supports the national team and softball development programs
- Raises awareness for the sport, especially in non-Olympic years
- Creates a sense of unity and pride among softball fans
- Inspires young players to pursue their dreams in the sport
By wearing USA Softball gear, you become an ambassador for the sport and help contribute to its growth and popularity.
USA Softball Clothing for Coaches and Officials
It’s not just players and fans who can show their support – USA Softball also offers apparel specifically designed for coaches and officials:
Coaching Gear
- Polo shirts with USA Softball branding
- Weather-resistant jackets and pullovers
- Comfortable athletic shoes
- Clip boards and equipment bags
Umpire and Official Attire
- Official USA Softball umpire uniforms
- Protective gear with USA Softball logos
- Rule books and officiating accessories
This specialized apparel ensures that everyone involved in USA Softball events can represent the organization professionally.
Sustainability in USA Softball Clothing Production
As environmental concerns become increasingly important, USA Softball and its partners are taking steps to improve the sustainability of their clothing production:
- Use of recycled materials in some apparel items
- Implementation of water-saving techniques in the dyeing process
- Reduction of plastic packaging in shipping and distribution
- Exploration of more eco-friendly performance fabrics
By choosing USA Softball apparel, consumers can support these initiatives and contribute to more sustainable practices in sports merchandise.
Are there eco-friendly options for USA Softball gear?
Yes, USA Softball is gradually introducing more environmentally friendly options:
- T-shirts made from organic or recycled cotton
- Jerseys incorporating recycled polyester from plastic bottles
- Accessories produced using sustainable manufacturing processes
- Limited edition “green” collections that highlight environmental causes
Look for specific labeling or product descriptions that highlight these eco-friendly features when shopping for USA Softball merchandise.
The Future of USA Softball Clothing and Merchandise
As technology and fashion trends evolve, so too will USA Softball apparel. Some exciting developments on the horizon include:
- Advanced performance fabrics with enhanced cooling and moisture management
- Integration of smart textiles that can track player movements and statistics
- Expanded use of 3D printing for customized gear and accessories
- Virtual and augmented reality experiences tied to USA Softball apparel
- Collaborations with high-profile designers for limited edition collections
These innovations will not only improve the functionality of USA Softball clothing for players but also offer fans new and exciting ways to engage with the sport.
How might technology change USA Softball uniforms in the coming years?
Technological advancements could bring several changes to USA Softball uniforms:
- Integrated sensors to monitor player health and performance metrics
- Self-cleaning fabrics that repel dirt and reduce the need for frequent washing
- Climate-adaptive materials that adjust to temperature changes
- Enhanced visibility features for safer play in varying light conditions
- Customizable elements that allow players to adjust fit and comfort on the fly
These potential innovations could revolutionize how players train, compete, and recover, while also providing valuable data for coaches and team management.

Olympics 2021 – Mexico softball team tosses uniforms in Olympic Village trash
The Mexican Olympic Committee expressed disappointment that its softball team appeared to have left the Olympic Games this week with bedding from the Olympic Village rather than with the players’ official uniforms and apparel, which were reportedly found in the trash.
“It’s regrettable that they left behind the uniforms in such an inappropriate place as the garbage in favor of some bedspreads from the Olympic Village,” committee president Carlos Padilla told ESPN.

The country’s softball team, with a roster of 14 American players and one born in Mexico, finished fourth with a 3-2 loss to Canada in Tuesday’s bronze-medal game. The Tokyo Olympics were Mexico’s first foray into Olympic softball.
In condemning the action, the country’s softball federation said in a statement Thursday that it would investigate the matter, and that players found responsible will no longer represent Mexico.
Welterweight boxer Brianda Tamara Cruz, who is representing Mexico in Tokyo, took to social media to post pictures of gear allegedly found in the trash at the Olympic Village, which the committee considers an “affront to the [national] identity” because the uniforms include the Mexican flag on the chest.
“This uniform represents years of effort, sacrifice and tears,” Cruz’s tweet read in Spanish. “All of us who are Mexican athletes yearn to wear it with dignity, and today sadly the Mexican softball team left it in the Olympic Village’s trash.”
Sources told ESPN Mexico that around 10 additional sets of equipment were found in the garbage, including apparel from the opening ceremony, sneakers and even suitcases.

Rolando Guerrero, the president of Mexico’s softball federation and its former head coach, blamed insufficient luggage space for his players’ actions and added that some even left behind expensive fielding gloves.
“If it was in the trash and people were sniffing around, they had to make room in their luggage because for a softball team it’s not the same packing 33 bats, catchers’ equipment, game gear, three uniforms and workout clothes as it is to pack a pair of gloves,” Guerrero said. “It’s much easier to pack a pair of gloves, all due respect. We won’t be going after anyone or responding, or rebutting anything on social media. It was simply a matter of too much cargo.”
Mario Garcia, the Mexico Olympic Committee’s secretary general, told ESPN Mexico that more could have been done to help the team avoid issues with cargo. The official gear, he said, could have been shipped separately, as was done with the apparel for the opening ceremony.
However, he said, the team also could have eliminated excessive cargo or packed uniforms in carry-on luggage. Garcia added that the team could face further discipline from the committee or even legal sanctions.
Several players responded on Instagram Thursday night, saying they had “no intention of disrespecting our country or our flag.”

Should players wear shorts at the softball World Series?
No. 1 seed Sooners lose Women’s College World Series opener
The University of Oklahoma fell 4-3 to James Madison in the opener of the Women’s College World Series on Thursday.
Addison Kliewer, Oklahoman
The game room at Jamie Fox Taylor’s house in Tulsa is a bit of a shrine to her softball career.
There are pictures. Jerseys. Mementos.
Among her favorite things are the framed team posters from her years at OU.
Among her least-favorite things — what the Sooners were wearing in the poster her senior year.
“Our poster is with us in shorts,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Ugh!’”
She laughed.
“That poster that’s framed at my house forever — shorts on. Gross.”
As the Women’s College World Series rolls into the jam-packed weekend, there will be lots of serious moments as the field is reduced to two. Teams will be eliminated, ending seasons and even careers.
We will chronicle all of it.
But not today.
‘We need to look at our game’: Scoring is up in NCAA softball, but do pitchers need help?
Women’s College World Series rekindles debate
Instead, we are talking about an issue that has divided softball for years — shorts vs. pants.
Softball players nowadays may not even realize this has ever been an issue. Pants have become so widely accepted and worn in the sport, most players of this generation will scoff and roll their eyes at the mere idea of wearing shorts in a game.
“Even in practices or when they come to camps or anything, they’re always full-on softball pants,” Team USA pitcher and former Texas ace Cat Osterman said. “To me, going to softball practice was athletic shorts and a T-shirt.”
And if Osterman had her druthers, she’d always wear shorts in games.
“There’s just more range of motion,” she said. “You don’t feel restricted.”
There was a time when shorts were the norm in both international and collegiate play. Shorts were actually the rule in international play until 2016 when the rule changed to allow teams to wear either shorts or pants.
In college, the change was earlier but less uniform, no pun intended.
Teams have long been allowed to wear either, but in the early 1980s when the NCAA first started crowning softball champions, shorts were the norm. Mike Candrea remembers being stunned by it when he was hired as Arizona’s head coach in 1986.
‘Keep looking forward’: What the Sooners need to do stay alive in WCWS after loss to JMU
When did OU, OSU players start wearing pants?
“With my baseball background, I’m going, ‘Why are we wearing shorts?’” he said, referencing his college baseball career and his coaching start as a baseball assistant. “We started wearing pants right away.”
But almost two decades later, most teams were still wearing shorts.
When OU won its first national title in 2000, for example, the Sooners did so in shorts.
Around that time, a time of transition began. Programs often had some uniform combinations with shorts and some with pants.
Oklahoma State started that transition in the late 1990s. Mariah Gearhart, who played on the Cowgirls’ 2011 WCWS team, says the uniforms were all pants when she arrived in Stillwater in 2008.
She was grateful for that.
“I had to convince my travel ball team to only wear pants, and that was in 2005,” she said. “In 2006, I was finally an upperclassman on the team and got to get rid of the shorts completely.”
The transition at OU lasted a little longer. Fox Taylor was a senior in 2007 when that photo for the team poster was taken in shorts, but she remembers wearing both shorts and pants in games throughout her Sooner career.
‘Hit to me’: Oklahoma State shortstop Kiley Naomi wants the ball in the WCWS. Here’s why.
Weather, practicality cited for uniform change
“Weather dictated some of that,” Fox Taylor said. “I remember Coach (Patty) Gasso … for the most part, she let the seniors decide.
“There were people that fought hard to wear shorts, and there were people that were like, ‘No! Can we please wear pants?’”
Fox was solidly in Team Pants for lots of reasons.
Some were aesthetic.
“It looks more professional, and it was more put together,” she said of wearing pants. “It just looks cleaner.”
But much of Fox Taylor’s motivation for wearing pants was practical.
“You had your sliders under the shorts,” she said of compression sliding shorts, “but if you slid, your sliders would come up. So, we would tape our sliders to our leg, tape the slider down so that if you slid, your slider had a better chance to stay so that you didn’t get a big strawberry.”
Tramel: A crowd of mostly 13,000 OU faithful witnessed a historic upset on Oklahoma soil
And if you already had a strawberry?
“You were mega taping it because you did not want that sliding up.”
Even with all that, some players pushed for shorts.
Near as anyone can tell, OU was the last team to wear shorts in the WCWS. The Sooners did so less than a decade ago in 2012. It was for the third and deciding game of the championship series, it pitted OU vs. Alabama, and it has become the stuff of legend.
As the story goes, the players lobbied Sooner coach Patty Gasso between Game 2 and 3, saying they wanted to wear shorts. On a team led by Keilani Ricketts and Lauren Chamberlain, they ultimately swayed Gasso by saying that the last time the program had won a title, it had done so in shorts.
So, shorts it was.
But when the Sooners got to Hall of Fame Stadium, they found themselves in a rain delay before the game even started. For three hours, they sat in the locker room.
Carlson: What was the biggest factor in OSU’s WCWS win vs. Georgia? Chyenne Factor
The game didn’t start until almost 10 p.m.
Then in the middle of the game came another rain delay. This one only lasted about 15 minutes, but when the Sooners returned to the field, they lost their momentum and their lead. The Crimson Tide won the game and the title.
OU hasn’t worn shorts in the WCWS since.
Neither has any other team.
Fox Taylor decided to put a poll on the OU softball alumni’s Facebook page and see where former players came down on the issue, and many who preferred shorts said it was because the pants they had were heavy, itchy and uncomfortable.
“Most say if they had pants like they have now,” Fox Taylor said, “then they would be pants all the way.”
No doubt the technology baked into uniforms now is vastly different than it was even a decade ago.
‘Never experienced anything like this’: NCAA softball fans excited to flock to packed WCWS
“I don’t want to say like your dry-fit T-shirt type of thing,” Osterman said of the material currently used in uniforms, “but it’s a material that’s not horrible. It’s not soaking up your sweat where it’s sticking to you and things like that.”
Team USA will be wearing all pants in the Olympics later this summer, by the way.
Shorts, it seems, have become almost a novelty.
“There’s a travel (softball) organization in Texas called The Blaze, and they actually have a shorts uniform,” Osterman said. “They’ll always #herearetheshorts or #throwbackshorts.”
What was once the norm is now an oddity. Some lament that fact, but many, many more, it seems, cheer the change.
Good riddance to shorts in the sport.
“For sure,” Fox Taylor said, “Team Pants.”

ASA Softball Rules on Uniforms
The Amateur Softball Association of America, or ASA, is the national governing body of softball and outlines the rules of the game for players and umpires. Based in Oklahoma City, the association organizes a number of national tournaments and has more than 3.5 million registered players. All of these players must adhere to the specific uniform regulations that the ASA establishes.
Team Uniforms
According to rule 3, section 6 of the ASA’s Softball Umpire Rulebook, every player on a team must wear a uniform identical in color and style. The sleeves or straps of a uniform’s top can be adjusted with or without tie-ups as long as uniform numbers remain visible. A player or team can’t be penalized if a uniform change has to be made due to blood and that uniform subsequently does not match with the rest of the team. Players can’t display names or logos of any other softball association besides the ASA on their uniforms during championship play.
Headwear
Ball caps are mandatory for fast-pitch male leagues and must be worn properly. Ball caps, visors and headbands are optional for female fast-pitch and all slow-pitch leagues. If one or a combination of these headwear items are worn by a team, they must all be worn properly and be of the same color. Plastic visors and handkerchiefs are not allowed.
Pants
Pants can be long, short or mixed in style, but must be alike in color. Sliding pants that are a solid color are allowed. If more than one player wears sliding pants, they must be alike in color and style. Sliding pants that are frayed, ragged or have slit legs are never allowed.
Undershirts
Solid-colored undershirts, including white, are allowed to be worn underneath the uniform. Though no player is required to wear an undershirt, if more than one player wears an undershirt, they must all be alike. Ragged, slit-sleeved or frayed undershirts are never allowed.
Uniform Numbers
Numbers on uniforms must be of a contrasting color to the primary uniform color and at least six inches in height on the back of the uniform. The number must be visible at all times and must be an Arabic number — 0 through 99. No two players on the same team can have the same number. This includes numbers such as 0 and 00, or 3 and 03. A player who does not have a number is not permitted to play. There is no penalty for wearing a duplicate or wrong number, but the player has to change uniforms if asked by the umpire.
Shoes
Players must wear canvas, leather uppers or similar material shoes at all times during a game. Soles can have a smooth surface or soft or hard cleats. Spikes on cleats can’t extend more than 3/4-inch from the sole or heel. Round metal spikes are illegal. Shoes with detachable cleats that screw onto the shoe are not allowed; however, cleats that screw into the shoe are acceptable.

90,000 Softball. Outfit and inventory. Rules and regulations
Softball is a lightweight form of baseball. The fair half can participate in it, since it is characterized by not so strong loads and reduced injuries. Baseball and softball equipment is quite similar, as are the rules for these games.
A bit of history
The year of birth of the game can be considered 1887, and the homeland is the USA. Its creator was the journalist George Hancock. He also developed the process itself, established the requirements for the playing field and equipment. The game was akin to baseball, which was very popular among Americans, but it was allowed to be played indoors. It was originally called “kittenball” or “mashball”. The first tournament was organized in Chicago, at the Farragot Boat club. In 1895, the first women’s team was formed.
The softball game was renamed in 1920, and in 1952 the International Federation was organized. Today it includes more than 130 countries of the world. Tournaments of national teams for men have been held since 1966, and for women since 1965.International competitions have been held since 1996. For some time this sports direction was included in the program of the Olympic Games.
As for our country, they learned about softball in 1987, when several tournaments were held in Tashkent, Krasnoyarsk and Belgorod. There was only one USSR championship in this direction, in 1991. Today, Russian softball players regularly take part in the largest competitions between clubs.
Softball and Baseball – The Difference
Softball was originally intended for the gym.But since 1985, they began to play it in the fresh air. This sports direction did not require special skills, so beginners were happy to join it.
Its main differences from baseball are as follows:
- The ball is hit much weaker and travels much less than baseball.
- The softball is softer and has a smaller diameter.
- Bit is shorter and more thick.
- There are seven periods (innings) in a match and nine in baseball.
The goals and schemes of these two games are very similar. This is a competition between two teams of 9-10 players. The playing area is in the shape of a triangle and consists of two parts: the inner one, with unpaved surface, and the outer one, covered with grass. In the corners of the field there are “houses” or “bases”. The teams are located on both sides of the court, and the server (pitcher) is in the center. Guests are the first to play the role of attackers, and the hosts become defenders. Then the teams change. The server throws the ball (and the throw is made not from above, as in baseball, but from below), and a member of the attacking team with a bat (hitter) must hit him three times, then run through all the “bases” and return to his “home”.At the same time, the defenders seek to remove the three forwards from the game. To do this, they need to intercept the ball and deliver it to the base where the runner is racing.
Rules of the Game
- The pitcher starts the game. His goal is to serve the ball so that the hitter of the attackers cannot receive his serve.
- The attacker hits the ball if it hits the strike zone from the chest to the knee of the pitcher. The fact of hitting the ball is recorded by the chief referee.
- The hitter needs to determine a good shot and hit the ball so that it flies as much as possible, but does not go out of the court. On a successful hit, he leaves the bat and runs through the bases to his home. Each striker who was able to run around all the houses and return to his own earns a point for his team. If the hitter’s hit directs the ball out of the playing area, he has the ability to run around all bases without obstacles.
- Behind the hitter there is a catcher – a player who receives balls that are not hit or are not in the strike zone.
- If the hitter fails to hit three serves that hit the strike zone, he goes out-of-bounds.
- A fight between a pitcher and a hitter can end in one of three ways: 1) the batter is eliminated if he misses the ball three times; 2) the hitter goes to first base if the pitcher serves 4 balls outside the strike zone; 3) the hitter takes the right hit and becomes a runner.
- After hitting the ball, players move counterclockwise on the court. To bring the hitter out of touch, a member of the opposing team must intercept the flying ball.
- To take the runner out of bounds, the defender should intercept the ball and touch the player with it, or direct the ball to the base where the runner rushed.
- At the end of seven innings, the team with the most points wins. If it is tied, then additional rounds are assigned.
Equipment and equipment
Softball is considered less traumatic than baseball.Nevertheless, the participants in the game are advised to use protective equipment for the head, limbs and chest.
Traditionally, softball equipment includes:
- Glove.
- Bit.
- Helmet.
- Boots.
Glove
The main piece of equipment for a softball player. It is worn by the players of the team in the attacking position, right-handers – on the right hand, and left-handers, respectively, on the left. The gloves are made of genuine leather and have a pocket for a ball.Leather is a fairly dense material, so a new glove has to be worn out before playing. To soften the glove, you can also put it in the sun or in a hot oven for a short time, or you can spread it with oil.
Catcher puts on a special glove for the game. It allows you to catch fast, forcefully thrown balls from the server.
Bits
The dimensions of this accessory (length and weight) are selected individually for each player, taking into account his physical parameters. But at the same time, according to the resolution of the Commission of Equipment Standards of the International Softball Federation, its weight must be no more than 1.077 grams, and its length must be 86.4 cm.The thickness of the bit should be no more than 5.7 cm. bamboo, metal, plastic, graphite, fiberglass, carbon magnesium, ceramics.
In order to choose a bat that is comfortable for playing, it is better to use a couple of recommendations:
- When choosing the length, you need to stand up to full height, straighten up and lower the bat. With a suitable length, the end will touch the ground.
- For newcomers, aluminum bits are better – they are light, but dense and quite aerodynamic. This helps to hit the ball.
Sportswear and footwear
Studded boots are available for softball. Spikes on them are allowed from plastic or rubber. Metal spikes are prohibited by the rules, as they can injure another player.
With regard to clothing, the form is not established by its rules.Usually these are sports shorts or breeches, leggings, a T-shirt and a sports jacket. The main rule that must be observed in softball, as in any team game, is that members of the same team must be dressed the same.
Protective Equipment
A helmet is a must-have accessory for all players. Its main task is to protect the head from injury. If a team member performs the function of a catcher, he additionally needs uniforms to protect against accidental hits in the chin (protective mask), chest, and legs, because the balls that fly into him do this at speeds up to 100 km / h.
Ball
Without it, the game is impossible, since it acts as a projectile. The dimensions of the ball are regulated by the rules: circumference 30.2 – 30.8 cm, weight – 166.5 – 173.6 grams. It is softer and more pliable than baseball, which is why it is called soft. But in size it is much larger, which makes it easier to hit with a bat.
To make it more visible on the field, the ball is made of yellow material with red stripes or threads at the seams.
This sport is suitable for everyone – men, women and children. It is most common among women, since it excludes injury while observing simple safety rules, as well as among adolescents. Softball is not as popular in Russia as it is in Western countries. There it is seen as a way to acquire the necessary skills for subsequent professional baseball training.
Play helps to improve physical fitness – from practicing it for several years, a person’s endurance almost doubles. And such requirements for players on the field as attentiveness, resilience and agility are fundamental, necessary for any athlete.

Softball is an outdoor game that requires good physical strength and stamina in addition to good strategy. The ball used in this game is larger than baseball, but the game is played on a smaller court. This is why it is often referred to as indoor baseball .It is also known as kitty ball, mash ball, softbund ball, , etc.
As a team, you can do pitching or batting . If your turn is the bat, then your goal is to hit the ball as soon as the pitcher throws it. After hitting the ball, you must run around the bases and return home safely without leaving your home. Likewise, if your team breaks the ball, your goal is to get the other team out so that your team has a chance to win.
The History of Softball
The first ever softball match was recorded in Chicago, Illinois. It was played on Thanksgiving Day in the second and last decade of the 19th century, i.e. about 1887. Thanksgiving is celebrated in the United States and Canada. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States and the second Monday in October in Canada. Its main goal is to thank the Almighty for the blessings of harvest and prosperity.
George Hancock is credited with inventing the sport and developing the ball and bat.Softball is inspired by baseball. The sport was originally called indoor baseball. But practically the game was moved to the street. As an exercise for firefighters, Lewis Robersrin organized an outdoor softball game in Minneapolis and called a kitten ball game.
The name softball was given to this sport in 1926. It was invented by Walter Hankanson. In Chicago, 16-inch softball is commonly used during matches. This 16-inch ball is called a mash.Fast softball became more popular than slow paced softball in the 1940s.
Member countries
Softball was introduced to the Summer Olympics after a century of invention. According to the records, it was first played in 1887, and in 1996 it was presented at the Atlanta Olympics in the United States. America tried to introduce softball at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. But that was not possible at the time. After 1996, softball was played in 2000 in Sydney and in 2004 in Athens. But in 2005, a committee was formed to drop this game at the 2012 Olympics.
Some of the dominant countries in the list of softball medals in international sports are the United States, Japan, Australia, China and the Netherlands.
A lot of equipment is required to play softball. The helmet, chest protector and shin guards are the basic equipment needed for safety and softball, we need a ball, bat, gloves and uniforms.
Bat
Batsmen hit the ball and hit on the team. The bat is made of wood, aluminum, or metals. The bat is shaped like a cylinder and measures 6 inches in diameter. The length of the bat varies, but it cannot exceed 86 cm.
Barrel diameter is 2¼ inches. Usually players prefer a smaller barrel because they can swing the bat easily. Bats with smaller trunks also reduce weight. The bat weighs 1.2 kilograms.
Ball
Since the name of the sport is softball, the ball is the center of the game. But despite its name, the ball used is not soft. Softball comes from the famous American sports baseball, which is mostly played by men. But softball is for women. Since this sport is dominated by women, the name of the game is softball.
gloves
Gloves are limited to 36 centimeters by the American Softball Association. In softball matches, all protective players wear protective gloves. But usually, different sizes of gloves are available for players of different sizes on the field.
uniform
Uniforms are provided to increase communication between players on a team. Each team wears a different uniform. Uniforms include helmets, headbands, visors, caps, shoes, shock absorbers, shirt and trousers, tight sliding shorts, etc.
For female players, uniforms such as headbands and caps are optional. They are compulsory for male players, but those wearing a helmet are not required to wear headbands or caps.
Essential Softball Facts
We have listed some important facts about softball here –
The Amateur Softball Association of America has the authority to verify players’ bit sizes. They also have the right to reject if they deem it illegal. If they find any performance-enhancing means in a bat, then it’s an illegal bat. These bats can give an unfair advantage to a batting team.
This sport mainly falls into two types, one with brisk strides, and the other with slow strides, .In brisk game, the ball has a circumference of 12 inches and the ball weighs between 178 and 194 grams. The ball’s circumference can increase or decrease by 0.125 inches.
In slow paced play, the ball has a circumference of 11 inches and the ball weighs from 166.5 to 173.6 grams. Since 2004, a yellow high visibility optical cover has been used for balls. For NAIA and NCAA softballs, yellow is the official color.
Yellow balls are becoming popular in this sport.Softball matches are played mainly with yellow balls. White balls are also used in this sport, but it is not as well known as yellow balls. White balls are mostly used on slow ones rather than high ones.
Softball was invented in Chicago, so one of its variants is called the Chicago ball. It is played with a ball that has a circumference of 16 inches. Field players do not usually wear gloves. The Chicago ball is also known as the mushroom ball, cabbage ball, and ball.
Between the thumb and forefinger of the gloves there is a strap called pocket . The color on the gloves must be such that no part is the same as the ball.
Pitchers are also not allowed to have any white color on their gloves, including the seams, as this could create a problem for batsmen to see the ball clearly.
Among all the gear, helmets and slip shorts are very important to the players.Helmets provide head safety and slip shorts up to the top of the thigh. Sliding shorts are basically shin guards that usually run from the ankle to the knee of the player and cover the leg. It protects the ankle, knee, lower leg, calf and thigh from bruising or bruising when sliding. In fact, wearing sliding shorts helps players glide along the ground with ease.
Player names are optional on the back of the uniform, but Arabic numerals should be visible.
The Amateur Softball Association of America has the authority to verify players’ bit sizes. They also have the right to reject if they deem it illegal. If they find any performance-enhancing means in a bat, then it’s an illegal bat. These bats can give an unfair advantage to a batting team.
This sport mainly falls into two types, one with brisk strides, and the other with slow strides, . In brisk game, the ball has a circumference of 12 inches and the ball weighs between 178 and 194 grams.
Yellow balls are becoming popular in this sport. Softball matches are played mainly with yellow balls. White balls are also used in this sport, but it is not as well known as yellow balls.White balls are mostly used on slow ones rather than high ones.

Softball is a variation of baseball in which the ball is relatively larger and the ground is smaller. This game is mainly played by female players. There are three options in the game: Quick Step Softball, Slow Step Softball, and Chicago Ball.
A softball field is smaller than a baseball field. The details of the field are as follows:
Two parts of the softball field – dirty area and fair area .
This fair area is divided into the infield, the outfield, and the outside of the field fence. The field that meets at right angles to the home slab is defined as dirty area.
A fence is drawn between the baselines to indicate field boundaries.
The hind stop, which is behind the home plate, must be between 25 and 30 feet.
The home plate has bases on each corner and it is on one corner of the diamond.
With the exception of the house plate, the bases have a canvas of 38 cm and a thickness not exceeding 13 cm.

Base numbers are given counterclockwise as first base, second base, and third base. These bases are usually anchored to the ground.
To prevent collision between players, there is a contrasting color double base or safety base . It is mainly intended to reduce collision between the first baseman and the runner.
Softball has some similarities to baseball. The runner runs after hitting the ball to the muddy part of the double base, while at the same time the field team tries to collect the ball and accurately throw it back to normal first base before the runner reaches the safety base.
Women’s softball usually has the basics of safety. But in the case of men, softball diamonds do not have these safety fundamentals.
Infield consists of infielders and a diamond. The remaining space between baselines and between fences and infield fields is called the field.
The feed plate is located near the center of the diamond. Usually a circle with a diameter of 16 feet is known as a brisk pitch softball swing circle. This is drawn around the pitch.

Softball was invented in Chicago in 1887. It is also called Women’s Baseball, Indoor Baseball, Carousel Ball, Kitten Ball, and Softband Ball.Currently, the World Softball Baseball Confederation (WBSC) is the supreme governing body of softball. It was formed in 2013. It regulates softball rules in over 100 countries, including the United States of America.
Softball comes from the famous American sports baseball. The main difference between baseball and softball is that in softball, the size of the ball is larger. Another important difference is that the softball field is smaller.
Prior to the WBSC, the International Softball Federation was the highest governing body.In America, the Softball Association (ASA) is the supreme body of government that was formed in 1933. Softball was introduced at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta but was later dropped from the Olympics.
There are three types of softball:
Slow Pitch – In slow pitch softball, the ball has a circumference of 11 or 12 inches. This ball will bend on its way to the batsman. There are 10 players in the team.
Fast Pitch – In fast pitch matches, the pitch is fast and there are nine players on the pitch at the same time.In quick matches, bunting and stealing are allowed.
Chicago Ball – In the Chicago Ball, the size of the ball is 16 inches. Each team has five players.
All three types of softball require seven innings to be played.
Despite its name softball, the ball used is not soft. With a fast feed, the ball has a circumference of 12 inches and weights from 178 grams to 194 grams.
Ball circumference can increase or decrease by 0.125 inches. In slow stride, the ball has a circumference of 11 inches and weights range from 166.5 grams to 173.6 grams. In softball, the ball is kicked from behind, it should be 13.1 m for women and 14 m for men.
Start game
There are so many techniques involved in softball to win a match. Batting and bowling in every form of this game has tricks to win the match. The match begins when everyone hears ball play from the referee. When all the outfield players are in fair territory and the batsman is ready, the pitcher stands on the service platform to throw the ball.
The pitcher’s primary objective shall be to throw the ball in such a way that it passes the batsman to the catcher’s gloves behind the home plate. The throw and serve are done with an armpit movement.
Throwing the ball
In a quick game, the pitcher throws the ball in a windmill style. A windmill movement is a movement in which the pitcher extends the throwing arm around the body and releases the ball at hip level at maximum speed.
The pitcher usually attempts to throw the ball so that it will pass through the batsman’s hitting area. But in some top tier events, a highly skilled pitcher may throw the ball outside the hitting area if the batsman is swinging his bat.
If the batsman does not swing or if the service is not a stroke, then this is known as no service . The count of in softball is the number of balls and strokes, and here the number of balls is always listed first.Score 3 and 2 – full score. In top-tier matches, pitchers try to throw the ball at high speed into the inner and outer corners of the plate.
During the throw of the ball, the pitcher can change the pitch of the ball to make it even more difficult for the batsman to hit the ball. The pitcher must try to throw the ball with maximum force. At the 1996 Olympics, women’s speed reached 118 kilometers per hour. In men’s matches, the maximum speed recorded is 140 km / h.
The attacking or batting team sends one batsman at a time into the field to hit or hit the ball, and the order in which the player goes to bat is called the batting order. As soon as the batsman hits the ball in fair territory, he / she must run at full speed. When running to first base, the batter is called running batter . She becomes runner or runner when she reaches first base safely.
deployment
The field side must try to get the batsman out and this can be done in three ways, which are –
- Displace
- Reported
- Depart
If an outfield player, while holding the ball, touches the base, which is the only base to which the batter can run, and he does this before the batter arrives there, is called force.
If a skater touches the base while holding the ball before the batsman reaches it, this is called pushing .
The time when the batsman goes to base that is already marked is marked with . When the ball hit by the batter is caught by an outfield player, it is called outflow . Similar to fishing in cricket, flying is common in softball.
Gloves of the catcher and the first bottom are called mittens, in which the pocket is larger than any other glove. There is a lot of extra padding in the catcher’s glove. The difference between the trapper’s glove and the first baseman’s glove is that the trapper’s glove has no finger holes to put the fingers in, but the first bottom’s glove has holes for inserting fingers.
Medium outfielder gloves. It is smaller than the catcher’s gloves. A typical outfielder’s gloves range in size from 12 to 13 inches. Since the size of the glove is large, this gives players the added advantage of reaching a higher level to pick up the ball.
Infielders have the smallest glove of all players. Its size ranges from 10 to 12 inches. The reason the glove gets smaller for the infielder is because they have to quickly pick up the ball onto the field and throw the ball in the right direction. Therefore, if their gloves are larger, it may be difficult for them to quickly collect the ball and send it to the right place.
The rules for playing softball are as follows:
Before serving, the pitcher must be firmly on the ground with one or both feet touching the plate of the pitcher.
A pitcher is not allowed to stop or bounce the ball in the service position as this could prevent the batsman from hitting the ball.
A pitcher may not use any kind of tape on the ball.He may use resin powder to dry his hands under the supervision of a judge.
The pitch must be six to ten feet in an arc.
No feed is declared in the following cases
The ball is broken during a suspension of play.
Runner will leave base soon
Reverse step made quickly
The ball slips out of the jug’s hand

Safety regulations
Among all the uniforms worn by players, helmets and slip shorts are very important. Helmets provide head safety and slip shorts up to the top of the thigh. These sliding shorts are basically shin protectors that typically extend from the ankle to the knee of the player and cover the entire leg.
It protects the ankle, knee, lower leg, calf and thigh from bruising or bruising when sliding. In fact, after wearing the sliding shorts, players can easily slide along the ground.
Those players who do not wear a cap must wear a helmet. The ball used in softball is not as firm as a cricket ball, but a helmet is mandatory.
Since softball is an outdoor sport that is played in the sun and is also highly physically challenging, players have to get enough rest before a day of play.

Company History
First Lite was founded by Kenton Carroot and Scott Robinson, avid hunters from central Idaho. As they were passionate about various winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, they were interested in returning high performance and natural fabrics to the market. One of the requirements for the products was comfort when worn on a naked body, so the choice fell on merino wool. As soon as they tried out the winter sports products made from merino wool, they began to try them on the autumn hunt. It was immediately discovered that these clothes perform well on bow hunting in September, on waterfowl hunting in October and mountain hunting from November to January. This fabric warmed in the morning and kept cool when the sun warmed the air during the day, and it also prevented unpleasant odors from appearing literally day after day. A long process of development and research involving hunters from different climatic zones has created what is now the world’s best merino wool hunting clothing system.
The real challenge was to create outerwear that was supposed to preserve the effectiveness of merino wool and at the same time protect the hunter from the rampage of the elements. An even longer process of research, testing, travel and study of hunters’ feedback led to the use of the unique fabric “ 37.5 Cocona “. This technology is truly a game changer, better than anything else on the market, allowing fabrics to breathe and providing unrivaled protection against bad weather.
