True Key Overview: McAfee’s Simplified Password Solution
True Key, a password manager developed by cybersecurity giant McAfee, offers a streamlined approach to password management. While it may not boast the extensive feature set of some competitors, True Key provides essential functionality for users seeking a straightforward solution to enhance their online security.
This review will delve into True Key’s features, pricing, ease of use, and overall effectiveness as a password management tool in 2024. We’ll examine how it stacks up against other popular options and help you determine if it’s the right choice for your needs.
Key Features of True Key: Simplicity Meets Security
True Key focuses on providing a core set of features designed to improve password security and convenience. Let’s explore the main offerings:
Multiple Sign-In Options
One of True Key’s standout features is its variety of sign-in methods. While a master password is available, the platform emphasizes alternative authentication options, including:
- Fingerprint recognition (on supported devices)
- Facial recognition (on devices with cameras)
- Email-based login
- Second device authentication
This flexibility allows users to choose the login method that best suits their preferences and device capabilities.
Automatic Password Saving
True Key simplifies the process of adding new passwords to your vault. When you log into a website, the application automatically detects and saves your credentials. A pop-up notification allows you to confirm or undo this action, ensuring you maintain control over your stored information.
Password Generator
To help users create strong, unique passwords, True Key includes a customizable password generator. Key features include:
- Password length up to 30 characters
- Options for capital letters, numbers, and special characters
- Automatic clipboard copying of generated passwords
- Password history tracking
Multi-Device Synchronization
True Key ensures your passwords are accessible across all your devices by automatically syncing your data. This feature allows seamless transitions between desktop, mobile, and tablet usage.
True Key Pricing: Free vs. Premium Options
True Key offers a simple pricing structure with two tiers:
Free Plan
The free version of True Key provides access to all core features but limits users to storing up to 15 passwords. This option is ideal for:
- Users who want to test the platform before committing
- Those with minimal password management needs
- Individuals looking to gradually transition to a password manager
Premium Plan
Upgrading to the Premium plan removes the 15-password limit, allowing for unlimited password storage. The cost is relatively affordable compared to some competitors, making it an attractive option for users who enjoy True Key’s interface and functionality.
How does True Key’s pricing compare to other password managers? While True Key’s Premium plan is competitively priced, it’s worth noting that some rivals, like LastPass, offer more extensive free plans and a wider range of premium options catering to different user needs.
User Experience: Setting Up and Using True Key
True Key prioritizes accessibility and ease of use. Here’s what you can expect when getting started with the platform:
Web-Based Interface
True Key operates entirely online, eliminating the need for software installation. This approach offers several advantages:
- Access your passwords from any device with an internet connection
- No need to worry about software updates or compatibility issues
- Seamless integration with various browsers and operating systems
Browser Extension
While True Key doesn’t offer a dedicated pop-out extension like some competitors, it does provide a browser extension for easy access to your stored passwords. This extension facilitates automatic password filling and saving as you browse the web.
Password Import Options
True Key simplifies the transition from other password managers or browser-saved passwords. Users can import credentials from:
- LastPass
- Dashlane
- Another True Key account
- Google Chrome
- Firefox
Additionally, you can manually add passwords or let True Key capture them as you log into websites.
Password Organization
True Key offers several ways to organize and sort your stored passwords:
- Alphabetical order
- Most used
- Most recent
- Favorites system
While these options provide basic organization, True Key lacks more advanced features like password tagging found in some competing products.
Security Measures: How True Key Protects Your Data
As a product developed by McAfee, True Key incorporates strong security measures to safeguard your sensitive information. Let’s examine the key security features:
Encryption
True Key employs industry-standard AES-256 bit encryption to protect your stored passwords and personal data. This encryption level is widely considered unbreakable with current technology, ensuring your information remains secure even if intercepted.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
In addition to its multiple sign-in options, True Key supports two-factor authentication for an extra layer of security. This feature requires a second form of verification beyond your master password, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access to your account.
Local Data Storage
While True Key operates online, your encrypted data is stored locally on your device. This approach minimizes the risk of large-scale data breaches that could affect cloud-based password managers.
No Master Password Recovery
True Key does not store or have access to your master password. While this ensures maximum security, it also means that losing your master password could result in permanent loss of access to your stored data. Users should carefully consider their ability to remember or securely store their master password before relying solely on True Key.
Limitations and Potential Drawbacks of True Key
While True Key offers a solid foundation for password management, it’s important to consider its limitations when comparing it to other options:
Limited Feature Set
True Key lacks some advanced features found in competing password managers, such as:
- Password sharing capabilities
- Secure note storage
- Digital wallet functionality
- Advanced form filling
Users requiring these features may need to look elsewhere for a more comprehensive solution.
No Business or Team Plans
True Key is primarily designed for individual use. The absence of team or business plans makes it less suitable for organizations or families looking to manage shared passwords and access.
Lack of Dedicated Desktop Application
While the web-based interface offers convenience, some users may prefer a standalone desktop application for offline access and potentially improved performance.
Limited Password Organization Options
The absence of tagging or custom folders for password organization may be a drawback for users with large numbers of stored credentials.
True Key vs. Competitors: How Does It Stack Up?
To provide context for True Key’s offerings, let’s compare it to some popular alternatives in the password management space:
True Key vs. LastPass
LastPass offers a more feature-rich experience, including:
- A more generous free plan
- Advanced sharing options
- Secure note storage
- Emergency access for trusted contacts
However, True Key’s focus on alternative authentication methods may appeal to users prioritizing login convenience.
True Key vs. 1Password
1Password provides:
- More robust organization tools (tags, vaults)
- Travel Mode for enhanced security while crossing borders
- Family and team plans
- Local data storage option
True Key’s web-based approach and simpler interface may be preferable for users seeking a more streamlined experience.
True Key vs. Dashlane
Dashlane offers additional features like:
- VPN service
- Dark web monitoring
- Digital wallet functionality
- More extensive form-filling capabilities
True Key’s lower price point and focus on core password management may appeal to budget-conscious users who don’t need these extras.
Who Should Consider Using True Key?
Based on its features and limitations, True Key may be an ideal choice for:
- Individual users seeking a straightforward password management solution
- Those who prefer alternative authentication methods over traditional master passwords
- Users comfortable with a web-based interface and browser extension
- Individuals looking for a balance between security and simplicity
- Budget-conscious consumers who don’t require advanced features
On the other hand, True Key may not be the best fit for:
- Large organizations or teams requiring shared password management
- Power users seeking advanced features like secure note storage or digital wallets
- Those who prefer a dedicated desktop application
- Users who need extensive password organization options
The Future of True Key: Potential Developments and Updates
As the password management landscape continues to evolve, it’s worth considering the potential future of True Key. While McAfee has not announced specific roadmap details, we can speculate on possible developments:
Enhanced Feature Set
To remain competitive, True Key may introduce additional features such as:
- Secure note storage
- Password sharing capabilities
- Improved organization tools (tags, custom folders)
- Digital wallet functionality
Business and Family Plans
Expanding True Key’s offerings to include team and family plans could broaden its appeal and make it a more versatile solution for a wider range of users.
Improved Cross-Platform Integration
While True Key already offers multi-device synchronization, further enhancements to ensure seamless integration across various platforms and browsers could improve the user experience.
Advanced Authentication Methods
Given True Key’s focus on alternative sign-in options, we may see the introduction of new authentication technologies as they become available, such as improved biometric options or integration with hardware security keys.
AI-Powered Password Management
As artificial intelligence continues to advance, True Key could potentially incorporate AI-driven features to enhance password security, such as:
- Automated password strength analysis and suggestions
- Intelligent breach detection and proactive password changes
- Personalized security recommendations based on user behavior
While these potential developments are speculative, they highlight the dynamic nature of the password management industry and the need for continuous innovation to meet evolving user needs and security challenges.
Making the Decision: Is True Key Right for You?
Choosing the right password manager is a personal decision that depends on your specific needs, preferences, and security requirements. To help you determine if True Key is the right fit, consider the following questions:
What are your primary password management needs?
If you’re looking for a simple, user-friendly solution to store and generate passwords, True Key may be sufficient. However, if you require advanced features like secure note storage or password sharing, you may need to explore other options.
How comfortable are you with web-based applications?
True Key’s online-only approach offers convenience but may not appeal to users who prefer offline access or dedicated desktop applications.
Do you value alternative authentication methods?
If you’re intrigued by the idea of using facial recognition or fingerprint scanning to access your passwords, True Key’s focus on these technologies could be a significant draw.
Are you managing passwords for a team or family?
True Key’s lack of business or family plans may be a dealbreaker if you need to share passwords or manage access for multiple users.
What’s your budget for a password manager?
True Key’s pricing is competitive, especially if you’re satisfied with its core features. However, it’s worth comparing the cost-to-feature ratio with other options to ensure you’re getting the best value for your needs.
By carefully considering these factors and weighing them against True Key’s offerings, you can make an informed decision about whether this password manager is the right choice for your digital security needs.
Ultimately, True Key provides a solid foundation for basic password management with a focus on alternative authentication methods. While it may not offer the most comprehensive feature set on the market, its simplicity and ease of use make it an attractive option for users seeking a straightforward approach to improving their online security.
True Key Reviews 2021 – Why 6.2 Stars?
The True Key password manager is designed for those who don’t rely too much on a password manager, rather ones who would just like a little bit of extra security and a place to store their sensitive data. It lacks additional features that experts would want to use, and there’s no sort of team plan or business plan to get companies on board.
Regardless, True Key is one of over 70 password managers I’ve examined to provide you with an extensive review on if it’s worth it or not. Read on to see what I think, and if this password manager is what you need for enhanced security online.
True Key Features
True Key, despite it being owned by powerhouse security company McAfee, doesn’t have many features to offer. The few that it does bring with are just fine, such as two-factor authentication (2FA), multi-device sync, and a password generator. But, it’s missing some key features like sharing passwords and autofill (more on this later). Let’s talk about a few of those.
Multiple Sign-Ins
True Key takes great pride in having multiple forms of sign-in. While the team doesn’t like its users logging in with the master password, it provides the option there for simplicity’s sake. In fact, it’s so important to them that the website promotes True Key’s ability to “sign you in without passwords” right on the front page.
As you can imagine, these alternate forms of sign-in are available on all devices, like fingerprint login on a mobile device or facial recognition on any device with a camera. But, depending on your device, you gain access to email logins, fingerprint, facial, master password, a second device, and more.
Password Auto-Save
Then you have True Key’s password auto-save feature, which is more automated than competitors like RoboForm. For example, any time you log into a website, the application will automatically save your information to be input later. There’s not really anything you have to do – the app will let you know it has saved something, though you can undo it if you’d like via a pop-up bar that appears.
Password Generator
True Key’s password generator is notable as well. While it isn’t too different from one like 1Password’s, what we have here is a powerful keyphrase generator that allows you to customize password length up to 30 characters, and has you choosing between capital letters, special characters, numbers, and more.
Also, after generation, the manager will automatically copy the password to your clipboard for later use. And you can check your password history within the application as well, letting you know when you’ve generated a specific password along with what that password is.
True Key Plans and Pricing
There isn’t much in the way of True Key’s plans and pricing. This is contrary to competitors like Passbolt, which has business, enterprise, and other plans that users can choose from. However, True Key only has two plans: Free and Premium.
The Free plan gives you all of the features mentioned above, though it limits you to 15 password entries. This is a great way for you to check out the platform’s offerings, and helps you get used to the always online functionality.
If and when you upgrade to premium, you’ll gain access to the platform but with unlimited password storage instead of just fifteen. The pricing isn’t too bad for this either, so if you’re a fan of True Key’s free version you should feel justified upgrading.
However, make sure you really like True Key before committing. Other managers like LastPass offer extensive free plans and premium plans for all sorts of different customers. That and it isn’t much more expensive, either.
True Key Password Manager Ease of Use and Setup
Similar to software like Trend Micro and Passbolt, True Key’s manager is entirely online. This means it is easily accessible from any device, though it should remain secure thanks to the focus on in-person login details like facial and fingerprint recognition. You can easily get to the password manager via its browser extension, though there isn’t a dedicated extension pop out like RoboForm or 1Password.
Upon sign in, you have the option to import passwords from LastPass, Dashlane, or another True Key account. That and you can import via Google Chrome or Firefox. Otherwise, you can import passwords by simply browsing around the internet or adding them manually, of course.
Passwords can be sorted in several ways: via a favorites system, alphabetically, via most used, or most recent. Unfortunately, there isn’t any sort of tagging function like with 1Password, but the ones here are okay enough.
Each password entry has a few different customizable options, like notes, for example. You can go in and add a few sentences about each password and what it’s used for here. Unfortunately, the application doesn’t support image attachments or anything external like that. Though, there are a few features specific to True Key.
When you head to the advanced tab in an entry, you can choose to require your master password every time that entry is logged in. Or, you can toggle on the instant log-in feature, and whether or not the entry is used only for the specific domain. These are unique features not seen in many password managers, and the master password toggle is fantastic for extra security regarding your financials and more.
Then there’s a section for safe notes. These are, just as they sound, secure notes that include a title and some details. They’re protected via your master password or form of login, and while there isn’t any form of third-party attachments here, it’s still a good space to store text information. These secure notes have the same sorting options as passwords do.
Then, like with many other password managers, there is a space is True Key for bringing in addresses, credit card information, licenses, and even your social security number. Each of these forms are full of information like names, addresses, zip codes, and more, and they have the same organizational features as the other sections.
Interestingly, your profile page is customizable as well. Here, you can change your photo, edit your master password, add a trusted device or email, and bring in another device so you can have two trusted ones for logging in. This page will also show how many logins you’ve taken up within the True Key manager.
Finally, you have the settings page. This page allows you to customize when you want to be auto-signed out, change how many signin options you’d prefer (see screenshot above), allows you to export your information, and much more. It’s a lot of quality of life features that other competitors don’t really have.
As for True Key’s mobile application, the log-in process is about the same. When you sign in, you’ll have to accept an email confirming that you want this as a trusted device. Otherwise, it’s laid out exactly the same as the web application. There is a couple of differences, though.
To start, the mobile application has a built-in web browser to activate instant logins and the like. That and there is a section for suggested websites that other True Key users tend to include, ensuring that popular websites aren’t forgotten, here. The application doesn’t allow screenshots, however, which is good for security reasons, but bad because I can’t show you how it looks. The user interface is just fine, however, and you shouldn’t struggle using the application.
True Key Security
True Key’s security takes advantage of industry-standard AES-256 encryption to keep your information as safe as possible. This is important, as it means hackers have to use more than brute force to break into your password manager.
Also, none of your information leaves your device unless it’s encrypted. That and all locally stored data is kept secure as well. One should also note that True Key’s development team practices zero-knowledge protection, meaning that nobody, not even the team, will ever see your information.
Oddly enough, there isn’t much other information about True Key’s security. There is a short FAQ that answers some questions regarding encryption, but not much else. Also, there isn’t any form of recovery options in case your device is stolen. Of course, this isn’t overly necessary, since you can simply log into another device, change your password, and be done with it, but there isn’t anything you can do if someone gains access to your information. This is a big oversight that 1Password and others have covered with emergency options.
True Key Customer Support
When compared to other password managers, True Key’s level of support is about standard. There is a decent knowledge base full of common issues and situations that you may come across such as refunds, installation, and more.
Then you have True Key’s virtual assistant which answers nearly any question you can ask it. However, it doesn’t answer them in a conversational way, rather it links you to different help articles that could answer your question. However, you should also note that these questions cover all McAfee products, rather than just True Key itself. This goes for all support avenues actually.
If the knowledge base or virtual assistant can’t help you, there are the community forums that are specific to True Key. This forum has all sorts of information, and if you can’t find an answer to your problem, you can simply ask about it. I asked them about the refund process there, however, and got a response that simply led to the bot telling me about relevant articles.
Then there is the direct assistance section, where you can choose your problem and have engage directly with an expert to help you out. If you select a direct call, for example, you’ll be given a number to call after filling out your information, and a service request number that helps you speed the process along. You can also choose to contact them on Twitter, Facebook, or view helpful tutorial content on YouTube as well.

Quick Summary
How many passwords can you remember? You have one for each social media account and bank account, one for your internet service provider and telecommunications company, one for each gaming platform and messaging app you use, not to mention Netflix and Spotify. And that’s just the start! Many people have hundreds and it’s impossible to remember them all. You may be tempted to keep them simple or use the same password for everything, but that just makes it easy for hackers. Instead, use a password manager.
If you’re not very technical, have a look at McAfee True Key. True Key doesn’t have a lot of features—in fact, it doesn’t do as much as LastPass’s free plan. Unlike many other password managers, it can’t:
- Share passwords with other people,
- Change passwords with a single click,
- Fill in web forms,
- Securely store sensitive documents, or
- Audit how secure your passwords are.
So why would you choose it? Because it does the basics well, and for some users, the lack of additional features is the best feature. Some people just want an app that manages their passwords. And another reason to consider it is because with True Key, forgetting your master password is not a disaster.
When using a password manager, you just need to remember one password: the app’s master password. After that, the app will do the rest. For security, the developers won’t store your password and won’t have access to your sensitive data. That’s secure, but it also means that if you forget your password, no one can help you. I discovered when writing my LastPass review that many people do in fact forget, and end up being locked out of all of their accounts. They sounded frustrated and angry. Well, True Key is different.
The company takes the same security precautions as everyone else, but they’ve made sure that forgetting your password isn’t the end of the world. After you confirm your identity using several factors (like responding to an email and swiping a notification on a mobile device) they’ll send you an email that lets you reset your master password.
If the idea of a simple, affordable app appeals to you and you’d like a way to be rescued if you forget your master password, then this might be the password manager for you. At $19.99/year, True Key’s Premium plan is significantly cheaper than most other password managers. A free plan is offered but is limited to just 15 passwords, making it suitable for evaluation purposes rather than real use.
True Key is also included with McAfee’s Total Protection, a package designed to defend you and your household for all types of threats, including spyware, malware, hacking and identity thieves. Total Protection starts at $34.99 for individuals and up to $44.99 for a household. But this app isn’t quite as multi-platform as other password managers. There are mobile apps are available on iOS and Android, and it runs in your browser on Mac and Windows—if you use Google Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Edge. If you use Safari or Opera or have a Windows phone, this isn’t the program for you.
- Inexpensive
- Simple interface
- Multi-factor authentication
- Master password can be securely reset
- 24/7 live customer support
- Few features
- Limited import options
- Password generator is finicky
- Does not support Safari or Opera
- Does not support Windows Phone

Why Should You Trust Me?
My name is Adrian Try, and I’ve used password managers for over a decade. I used LastPass for five or six years from 2009, and really appreciated the team features of that app, like being able to give password access to certain groups of people. And for the last four or five years, I’ve been using Apple’s built-in password manager, iCloud Keychain.
McAfee True Key is simpler than either of those apps. Over the years I taught beginner IT classes and provided tech support I met hundreds of people who prefer apps that are easy to use and as foolproof as possible. That’s what True Key tries to be. I installed it on my iMac and used it over several days, and I think it succeeds. Read on to discover if it’s the right password manager for you.
True Key Review: What’s In It For You?
True Key is all about basic password security, and I’ll list its few features in the following four sections. In each subsection, I’ll explore what the app offers and then share my personal take.
1. Securely Store Your Passwords
Where is the best place for your passwords? Well, it’s not in your head, on a piece of paper, or even in a spreadsheet. A password manager will store them securely on the cloud and sync them to every device you use so they are always available. It will even fill them in for you.
Storing all your passwords on the cloud may raise some red flags. Isn’t that like putting all your eggs in one basket? If your True Key account was hacked they’d get access to all your other accounts. That’s a valid concern, but I believe that by using reasonable security measures, password managers are the safest places to store sensitive information.
Password management is automatic. True Key auto-saves and enters your passwords, so you don’t have to.
Besides protecting your login details with a master password (which McAfee don’t keep a record of), True Key can confirm your identity using a number of other factors before it gives you access:
- Face recognition,
- Fingerprint,
- Second device,
- Email confirmation,
- Trusted device,
- Windows Hello.
Sign-in is simple; Just type in your master password on the device you trust. When not on a Trusted Device (a friend’s phone, hotel computer), you’ll be verified by a second authentication factor for safety.
That’s called multi-factor authentication (MFA) and makes it virtually impossible for someone else to log into your True Key account—even if they somehow manage to get hold of your password. For example, I set my account up so that after entering my master password, I also have to swipe a notification on my iPhone.
Multi-factor authentication, or MFA, is standard with the True Key app. You’ll always be verified by at least two factors before being signed in. Customize your profile by adding more factors — the more you add, the safer your profile becomes.
What makes True Key unique is that if you forget your master password, you can reset it—after using multi-factor authentication to prove who you are. But note that this is optional, and the option is turned off by default. So if you’d like to be able to reset your password in the future make sure you enable it in settings.
I’m sure you already have lots of passwords. So how do you get them into True Key? There are three ways:
- You can import them from some other password managers and web browsers.
- The app will learn your passwords as you log into each site over time.
- You can add them manually.
I started by importing a few passwords from Chrome.
I didn’t want to go overboard because the free plan can only handle 15 passwords, so instead of importing them all I just chose a few.
True Key can also import your passwords from LastPass, Dashlane, or another True Key account. To import from the last two, you first need to export from the other account.
You don’t need to do that preliminary work with LastPass. Those passwords can be imported directly after you install a small program.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to categorize your passwords in Dashlane. You can favorite the ones you use most often and sort them alphabetically, by most recent or most used, and perform searches.
My personal take: A password manager is the most secure and convenient way to work with all the passwords we deal with day by day. They are stored securely online then synced to each of your devices so they are accessible anywhere and any time you need them.
2. Generate Strong, Unique Passwords for Each Website
Weak passwords make it easy to hack your accounts. Reused passwords mean that if one of your accounts is hacked, the rest of them are also vulnerable. Protect yourself by using a strong, unique password for every account. True Key can generate one for you.
I found that the password generator wasn’t always displayed on the page where I was creating the account. In that case, you have to go to your True Key password page and click the Generate Password button next to “Add new login”.
From there you can specify any specific requirements you (or the website you’re joining) have, then click “Generate”.
You can then use the tiny icon on the right to copy the new password to the clipboard, and paste it into the new password field where you’re creating your new account.
My personal take: Best practice for secure passwords is to create one that’s strong and unique for every website. True Key can generate one for you, but sometimes that means leaving the web page you are on. I wish the app was more consistent at being able to create and insert a password in place when signing up for a new account.
3. Automatically Log in to Websites
Now that you have long, strong passwords for all of your web services, you’ll appreciate True Key filling them in for you. There’s nothing worse than trying to type a long, complex password when all you can see is asterisks.
On Mac and Windows, you’ll have to use Google Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Edge, and install the relevant browser extension. You can do that by clicking the Download – It’s Free button on the website.
Once installed, True Key will conveniently start automatically filling your login details for the sites you’ve saved. This can’t be turned off, but you have two additional log-in options.
The first option is for convenience and is best for sites you log into regularly and aren’t a major security concern. Instant Log In won’t just fill in your username and password and wait for you to do the rest. It will press the buttons as well, so there’s no action required from you at all. Of course, this will only work if you have just one account with that website. If you have more than one, then True Key will let you choose which account to log into.
The second option is for sites where security is the priority. Ask for my Master Password requires you to type a password before you can log in. You won’t need to remember the password for that site, just your True Key master password.
My personal take: Our car has a remote keyless system. When I get to the car with my arms full of groceries, I don’t have to struggle to get my keys out, I just press a button. True Key is like a keyless system for your computer: it will remember and type your passwords so you don’t have to.
4. Securely Store Private Information
Besides passwords, True Key also lets you store notes and financial information. But unlike some other password managers, this is just for your own reference. The information won’t be used to fill in forms or make payments, and file attachments are not supported.
Safe Notes let you securely store sensitive information you don’t want others to see. This could include lock combinations, product and software codes, reminders, and even secret recipes.
The Wallet is mainly for financial information. It’s where you can manually enter information from your important cards and paperwork, including your credit cards and social security number, driver’s license and passports, memberships and sensitive addresses.
My personal take: It can be handy to have personal and financial information on hand, but you can’t afford to have it fall into the wrong hands. In the same way that you rely on True Key to store your passwords securely, you can trust it with other types of sensitive information as well.
Reasons Behind My Ratings
Effectiveness: 4/5
True Key doesn’t have as many features as other password managers, but it does the basics quite well. It’s the only app of its kind that allows you to reset your master password if you forget it. However, it doesn’t work everywhere, notably the desktop version of Safari and Opera, or on Windows Phone.
Price: 4.5/5
True Key is cheaper than all other password managers listed in our Alternatives section, but it also has less functionality. In fact, the free version of LastPass has more features. But many users will find $20/year worthwhile for a basic app that won’t leave them stranded if they forget their master password.
Ease of Use: 4.5/5
True Key is designed to make managing passwords simple, and I believe it succeeds. It takes the needs of basic users into consideration: the web app is easy to navigate and it doesn’t offer an overwhelming number of settings. However, I found that the password generator didn’t work on all sign-up pages, meaning I had to go back to the True Key website to create new passwords.
Support: 4.5/5
The McAfee Consumer Support portal offers a knowledge base on all of their products with specific help links for PC, Mac, Mobile & Tablet, Account or Billing, and Identity Theft Protection.
Rather than navigating the web page, you can “talk” to a virtual assistant in a chat interface. It will try to interpret your questions and take you to the information you need.

True Key Review – How Safe is This Password Manager in 2021?
What is True Key? It’s a password manager by Intel Security, which can protect your passwords, logins, and files. In the past, weak and easy-to-memorize passwords might have sufficed. However, computing power has grown and so has the number of cybercriminals. You need a unique password for all of the different accounts and websites that you’re using. With password generators readily available, this is easy.
However, remembering all those unique passwords is difficult. That’s why password managers are a necessity in today’s digital ecosystem.
This True Key review will look at this password manager and highlight the advantages and disadvantages. We’ll also look at the technical specs, the security features, and the pricing. Next, we’ll go over how to use True Key and compare the service to another similar manager, LastPass.
Pros and cons of True Key
We will start this True Key Review by looking at the pros and cons of using this service.
Perhaps more than any other password manager, True Key emphasizes multi-factor authentication. This is a definite advantage. This service can easily be synced across multiple devices, including Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. It supports several browsers, but it does not support Safari.
Another advantage is that the security is not entirely reliant on the master password. Some disadvantages include the lack of secure password sharing, account inheritance, and automatic password changing.
Technical specifications
True Key supports Android, iOS, Windows, or macOS. It requires iOS 9.0 or later, Android 4.1 or higher, Windows Vista or higher, or recent versions of macOS.
There are also browser extensions for Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. You’ll want to have your browser up-to-date for optimal use.
Is True Key safe?
This app uses the AES-256 encryption, which is considered one of the most secure encryption algorithms available. Multi-factor authentication adds to the overall security of the service. The sign-in can occur via the master password, or through facial or fingerprint recognition. Overall, True Key will give you a good deal of security, while also allowing some customization.
Pricing
True Key is free for up to 15 passwords. Afterwards, the service is $19.99 a year. With the paid version, you can store up to 10,000 passwords/log-ins.
The price makes it less expensive than other password managers, such as Dashlane. However, other managers have free versions with a lot more usability.
How to use True Key
This password manager is easy to use. First, download and install the product from the company’s webpage. On Mac and Windows, it will install as a browser extension. On iOS and Android it installs as an app.
You’ll need to create a Master Password when you first sign up. But afterwards, you may or may not end up using it. Still, you’ll want to choose a password that is strong and unique, but easy to remember.
Later, you will be able to choose an authentication method. You can use facial recognition, fingerprint recognition, or stick with the master password.
True Key reviews from users indicate that many prefer having passwordless access.
How to Uninstall True Key
In some cases, this app lands on your device as a third-party offer when you install certain software. Maybe you have installed it, and decided you want to go with a different password manager.
When you open the list of installed apps on your device, True Key usually doesn’t show up. This is because it isn’t considered a stand-alone app. It’s part of the larger McAfee Security program. This makes removing this password manager a little trickier than a normal app.
How to uninstall True Key from Windows
For Windows, tap on the Windows key. Type in appwiz.cpl. Click Enter.
Now search for True Key. If it comes up, hit the Uninstall button. If it doesn’t come up, search for McAfee and click Uninstall.
You can also try looking in the Control Panel by clicking Start->Control Panel.
There is an option for adding and removing apps.
See if True Key or McAfee is listed. If so, click Uninstall.
Normally, one of these two options will work.
How to uninstall True Key from Mac
For Mac, go to the application folder.
Drag True Key or McAfee to the trash. Empty the trash.
You can uninstall browser extensions by disabling the extension.
This option will be under Tools, Add-ons, or Extensions, depending on your browser.
True Key alternatives
True Key vs LastPass
True Key | LastPass | |
Two Factor Authentication | Yes | Yes |
Automatic fill of web forms | No | Yes |
Password strength report | No | Yes |
Secure sharing | No | Yes |
Synchronization | Android, iOS, Windows, Mac | MacOS, Windows, Linux, Chrome, iOS, Android |
True Key is a good option if you just need basic password management functionality. LastPass has more features. The password strength report and secure sharing functions are particularly useful. Yet, these are missing from this app.
The free version of LastPass is better than the free version of True Key because you can store more passwords and logins. It also has greater compatibility.
Overall, True Key is an effective password manager that stands out for its focus on multi-factor authentication. This is great if you have a bad memory and don’t want to have to remember the master password. But it’s missing key features that popular alternatives like LastPass, Dashlane, or some of the other best password managers can offer you. For example, one thing we wish True Key offered is automatic web form filling.
True Key Review – How Good is McAfee’s Password Manager?
True Key is a password manager app that allows you to store your passwords securely in one place. On top of that, it also automatically enters them where needed and syncs them across all your devices.
True Key is provided by McAfee, a well-known name in the cybersecurity world. This veteran computer security software company was founded in 1987 and acquired by Intel Security Group in 2014. That’s why you’ll get a link to True Key by Intel Security if you review McAfee’s products. However, McAfee hasn’t been Intel’s subsidiary from 2017 onward, and most of its products have been rebranded. The company doesn’t use the Intel domain anymore either; instead, it now has its own – mcafee.com. Now let’s get down to business and check out this password saver.
Features
True Key sticks to basics in terms of the features it offers, but it still works like magic.
Multiple Ways of Signing In
Being light on features doesn’t mean they are not robust enough. On the contrary, our review of True Key shows that immense effort was put into security aspects. The master password is one of them. It’s not the only way of logging in, but you’ll need it to open an account. This is essentially the only password you’ll be responsible for, so lock it away somewhere or, better yet, memorize it and let True Key take care of all your other passwords.
If your device supports a native biometric authentication method, you’ll be able to log in to your True Key account with Touch ID, Face ID, or Windows Hello.
For some reason, Face ID feature is not listed among the options on the website anymore, but you’ll find it if you browse through some True Key reviews or the FAQ section.
There are other options you can use for your McAfee account login with True Key; for example, your Android or iOS phone or tablet can be used as a second device. Once you attempt to log into your PC or Mac, the second device will get a notification. Just swipe up, and you’re good to go. If True Key notices a sign-in attempt from a non-trusted device, it’ll notify you and ask for approval.
You can also choose to have a link sent to your email inbox whenever you log in to verify it’s you and not someone else, as an additional layer of protection. Sounds great, right?
Password Generator
McAfee True Key has a password generator so that you don’t have to come up with elaborate passwords yourself. This is a pretty basic feature offered by practically all password managers on the market, but it’s very handy nonetheless. True Key’s password generator lets you partially customize your password by selecting the categories you want to include: numbers, special characters, and capital letters. Once it creates an unbreakable password of up to 30 characters, it’ll copy it to the clipboard automatically for later use.
Password Manager
McAfee’s True Key password manager will review your passwords, memorize them, and automatically enter them in the password box for you. The app will also offer to save your login information whenever you create a new account. You’ll always get a pop-up notification about it.
Digital Wallet
Losing your credit card information sounds dreadful. Cybercriminals who attempt to steal users’ identities or breach their privacy pose a genuine threat, and identity thefts are on the rise. A digital wallet acts as a shield against scammers who are after your credit card information.
Once you log in to True Key, it will review and store your credit card and passport numbers, IDs, and other sensitive info in a safe vault. Rest assured that all the data will be accessible solely to you from any of your devices, making True Key the best password app for online shopping.
Cross-Device Synchronization
Having separate accounts for every device you own is a nightmare. With this product by McAfee, all your passwords will be at your fingertips, whichever device you choose.
While browsing through the McAfee website for the purposes of writing this True Key app review, we have learned that the standalone Windows desktop app was retired in January 2021. Users were instead offered several browser extensions, for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.
Security and Privacy Features
It’s only fair to ask yourself: Is McAfee safe? Yes, and its product has a stellar reputation, especially when it comes to safety. This password manager plays on the safe side. All your passwords and sensitive information are scrambled with the help of the AES 256-bit encryption algorithm, one of the strongest available.
How secure is the True Key password manager? Well, the hackers will back off once they find themselves in front of the McAfee Firewall. The software uses multifactor authentication, which means that at least two factors will verify you before you can access your data. We advise you to add more factors and customize your profile with additional layers of security.
After you download McAfee True Key, you’ll notice that you won’t be asked to share any personal information or any of your passwords, not even your master password. It serves as a key that unscrambles the encrypted data, and the only time you’ll ever need it is to unlock them. True Key doesn’t have access to your master pass.
Our McAfee True Key review can confirm that you’ll never be asked to reveal your true identity when you log in, as the only information that the password manager will ever keep is the encrypted version of your master password. The company promises never to share or sell your private information.
Ease of Use
True Key is a no-frills option, and you don’t have to be particularly tech-savvy to use it. Simply hit McAfee, download its True Key browser extension, and install it. It’s a breeze. For our part, we agree with all those favorable True Key reviews on the net that this is probably the only password manager you’ll ever need.
After downloading the app, add your name and email address and create your master password – a combination of at least eight characters. You’ll then be asked to import your passwords from other password managers or other True Key accounts. And that’s it; you’re good to go. Optionally, you can go on a brief tour of the user interface to get acquainted with all its possibilities.
Is True Key safe? Absolutely, and you can make it even safer by trying this pro option: toggle off the instant login button and choose to require your master pass every time you log in.
True Key mobile applications require you to download the app from a store. After that, check your inbox for the confirmation email and confirm your device as a trusted one. The interface is the same as the one for browsers, but you’ll get a built-in web browser and won’t be able to take screenshots for privacy reasons. It doesn’t get easier than this.
Platform Availability
As we mentioned earlier in our McAfee True Key review, the software isn’t available as a standalone app for Windows and macOS. If you’re planning on using it on your desktop or laptop, you’ll need a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) as True Key is an extension-exclusive software. If you’re using the app on your iPhone, worry not: Safari is supported, too.
Apart from that, you can download and install easy-to-use apps for your mobile phones and tablets for both Android and iPhone. The apps are very intuitive and straightforward.
True Key Pricing
Any True Key review would be incomplete without the price list and estimation of whether the product is worth the money, so here we go:
We were a bit disappointed with the pricing tiers. There are only two plans: free and premium, while many competitors offer business, enterprise, and other plans.
With your True Key McAfee free download, you’ll gain access to all security features, synchronization across all devices, and the password generator. However, you’ll be limited to 15 passwords, which is obviously not enough.
Once you test the free plan and review the True Key pros and cons, you can subscribe to the Premium plan for as little as $19.99 per year. This reasonable price allows you to store up to 10,000 passwords. We believe that True Key is worth the price, with its simple and user-friendly interface, basic but functional features, and excellent security.
Customer Support
Here we finally come to the point where True Key truly stands out. Perhaps, while reading this review, you asked yourself: “Ok, but what is McAfee True Key’s best asset, the one that will persuade me to choose it over its competitors?” The answer is its customer support.
In the extensive and informative FAQ section, users can easily filter through the posts to find detailed answers to most of their questions. There’s a search option that makes navigating through numerous articles about this and other McAfee products as easy as pie.
In the unlikely case that you don’t find your answer in the FAQ section, you can reach out to customer service via a 24/7 phone line. True Key’s friendly and communicative staff will not let you wait for more than 10 minutes before they set themselves to resolving your issues as quickly as they can.
However, our review of the True Key Virtual Assistant feature has shown that it falls short compared to competitors’ live chat features. Even though the Virtual Assistant works round the clock and the estimated waiting time is just two minutes, we didn’t find it as effective as a real person in solving our problems and answering our questions.

90,000 All tenses of the verb in English. Summary table
Verb tenses, or Verb Tenses
In the language of linguistics, the grammatical category of tense (tense) is a part of the verb paradigm that expresses the relationship between the time to which the utterance belongs and the moment of the utterance itself. Simply put, this is what makes us understand when a certain event happened / happens / will happen.
There is no language in which there would be more than three tenses: past, present and future. The main tenses of the English language are formed as follows:
- Past (past): I learned English. – I am studied English .
- Present: I learn English. – I am studying English .
- Future: I will learn English. – I’m will study English .
But pay attention: the future tense is not formed by changing the form of the verb, but with the help of additional words (more often – auxiliary verbs, auxiliary verbs). Therefore, from the point of view of word formation, there are only two tenses in English: the present and the past.
But what about the times of Perfect, Continuous, …?
Everything else linguists call aspects or aspects. The aspect of the verb characterizes the duration of the described action, its frequency and completeness. There are three key aspects to English:
- Simple (or Indefinite – simple or indefinite):
I learn English.- I am studying English . - Progressive (or Continuous):
I am learning English. – I am studying English . - Perfect (perfect, perfect or complete):
I have learned (learned – BrE ) English. – I learned English (the goal we are striving for).
In addition, combining two of these aspects, we get another one:
- Perfect progressive (progressive-perfect or completed-long):
I have been learning English.- I am studied English .
Unfortunately, the meaning that native speakers of English put into a particular form of a verb often does not coincide with its name. For example, a simple present (Simple Present) can denote habitual past actions or rituals: I walk to the store – I go to the store (I went to the present), and the present is continuous (Present Progressive) can be used to denote actions that are just starting in the current moment, that is, future ones: I am walking to the store – I am going (now I will go) to the store).
Modality as a contribution to the paradigm
Modality (mood), which also contributes to the formation of verb forms, describes the speaker’s attitude to the action: whether he considers this action necessary, obligatory, inevitable, probable, etc. Various types of modality in English are expressed by modal verbs:
- I shall walk to the store. – I need (preferably) to go to the store.
- I will walk to the store.- I’ll go to the store.
- I should walk to the store. – I have to go to the store.
- I would walk to the store. – I would go to the store.
- I may walk to the store. – I can go to the store (I have such an opportunity).
- I might walk to the store. – I could go to the store (I had such an opportunity).
- I must walk to the store. – I have to go to the store.
- I can walk to the store. – I can go to the store (I am able to go to the store).
- I could walk to the store. – I could go to the store (I was able to do it).
Here again, not everything is clear. The modal verbs shall and will are more likely future tense markers than expressing modality. In addition, there are special restrictions on the use of modal verbs in different tenses of English.
- Let’s remind the English modal verbs: will / would, shall / should, can / could, may / might, need, have (to), must, ought (to).
The following 4 pairs of modal verbs are involved in the formation of new species-tense forms: will / would, shall / should, can / could, may / might – this also includes the verb must, which exists only in the present tense.
Collateral – active and passive
But that’s not all. Several forms of the verb are also formed because in English there is a concept of voice – active, active voice, and passive, passive voice (in Russian they correspond to real and passive). At the same time, the pledge has nothing to do with the category of time.
- Active Voice: I invited a friend. – I invited a friend.
- Passive Voice: I was invited by a friend. – I was invited by a friend.
There is never too much time
If we sum up all of the above, we get 88 species-tense forms of the verb:
((5 modalities × 2 times) + (1 modality shall / will)) × (4 aspects × 2 pledges)
Trying to memorize all these forms is probably pointless. You just need to remember the basic scheme of the formation of the temporal forms of the verb and learn to understand the meaning of the corresponding statements (in addition, many forms of the verb are almost never used in real life).
The table contains only the temporal forms of the verb in the active (active) voice. The passive (passive) voice is formed using the auxiliary verb to be (to be) in the corresponding tense and Participle II (past participle) of the main verb:
Simple | Continuous | Perfect | |
Present | I am given | I am being given | I have been given (I was given) |
Past | I was given (I was given) | I was being given (I was given) | I had been given |
Future | I will be given | does not exist | I will have been given () |
So how many times are there in English?
In fact, the following table summarizes the main forms of the verb. And besides them, in English, there are other means to give the verb signs of a voice, aspect or tense.
For example:
- Past Habitual: I used to walk to the store. – As a rule, I went to the store (translation option: I used to always go to the store).
- Immediate Future: I am about to walk to the store. – I went to the store (option: I’ll go to the store.)
There are many combinations of auxiliary verbs that perform similar functions in English. Here you have to learn them by heart.
From all of the above, a rather disappointing conclusion suggests itself: the system of forms of the English verb is complex and the exact number of temporal forms, the so-called “tenses” of the verb, has not yet been established . Sic.
For those who better perceive information by ear – an overview story about the times of English by one of the teachers at the school EngVid:
Time and time
It is important not to confuse the concepts tense (grammatical concept of time) and time (general concept of time: “When God created time, he created it enough”).
For example, the present tense does not always refer to the present time:
- I hope it rains tomorrow. – Hopefully tomorrow it will rain . (Present Simple is used to express hopes for the future.)
Past tense also does not always refer to the past moment:
- If I had some money now, I could buy it. – If I now have money, I would buy it.
Time pulse
We offer an alternative approach – a diagram that will help you get a feel for what native English speakers mean by using this or that form of the verb (based on materials from the site http://english.stackexchange.com):
It would seem that this is not the simplest system of times, is it? However, the cunning English decided to go even further.
In addition to the main ones, they invented new forms of the verb, which will be used by our descendants after they finally invent a time machine (for more details in English: http: // technobabble.wikia.com/wiki/Time_Travel_Tenses).
Time Traveler’s Dictionary
The basic principle of Time Travel Tenses (TTT) education is to add [ʌɪ] to existing forms of the verb, for example: isn’t = aisn’t, didn’t = daidn’t, etc.
Future Events That Will Now Not Happen
“I willn’t have five kids and my husband cain’t marry me because he was killed by the time police when he was nineteen.”- I will not have five children and my husband will not marry me because he was killed by the police at the age of 19.
Future Events That Will Now Happen –
Future Events That Will Now Happen
“I will never marry because my husband was killed when he was 19.” – I will never marry, because my husband was killed at 19 years old.
Past Events That Would Have Happened
“I daidn’t have any children because the time police killed my husband” – I had no children because the time police killed my husband.
Past Events That Did Happen – Past events that have already happened
“I don’t have any children because my husband died.” – I have no children because my husband died.
Current Circumstances That Would Have Been True
“My husband doeisn’t exist because he was killed.” – My husband does not exist, because he was killed (there is still not enough Russian language to convey the meaning of this statement).
Current Circumstances That Now Are True
“I don’t have a husband.” – I do not have a husband.
Yes, one can only marvel at such foresight! Although, it is likely that by the time the time machine is invented, mankind will learn to transmit thoughts at a distance, without putting them into words …
In the meantime, the space-time continuum is not conquered to conquer English, take the time to study this complex, sometimes difficult to explain, but quite logical English time system.Good luck!

90,000 Cycling
Indoor machine workouts have become very popular over the past couple of years, even outside the context of the virus that has forced many of us to reorient ourselves to online.
Software manufacturers did not sit idly by – virtual workouts have become almost completely close to street races. And Zwift has become synonymous with indoor training, especially in Russia.
Below we will talk about other programs that are less popular, but have their own flavor. If you’re curious about which indoor workout platform is the best, or just want to figure out how they differ from each other, keep reading.
Zwift
Zwift gives real gaming emotions. It is here that you can completely immerse yourself in the virtual world of cyclists, train for your virtual version, compete with real people and improve your equipment in order to gain an advantage in speed.
The social aspect makes Zwift stand out from the competition. The ability to schedule group workouts, races and races makes Zwift the largest platform for the cycling community. All they had to do was to introduce a system of voice conversations in order to move to a new level.
Super active users believe that the disadvantage of Zwift is the lack of a variety of tracks: 6 worlds with 64 available tracks.
But they are constantly evolving: they alternate the “guest” world every month, give the opportunity to try the beta version of the program with new features (for example, steering and mountain MTB routes) to collect feedback. But one of our favorite things about Zwift is that they give free access for kids under 16.
Key features:
– combining personal training and racing with entertainment, social aspects,
– avatar and equipment moderation,
– a huge database of cyclists will not leave you alone,
– pro cyclists use Zwift, you can measure them directly forces,
– the opportunity to be noticed by pro-teams,
– free access for children.

Kinomap

Synchronized with the speed and cadence sensors, using a motometer or a smart machine, the program matches the speed of the video with your speed, allowing you to “ride” thousands of routes around the world.A unique feature is the ability to drive through the ⅛ Large Hadron Collider – CERN Large Hadron Collider
This is a great way to train in different parts of the world, have an almost endless supply of new locations for each workout, and even upload your own videos. The latter means you can download or find someone’s video footage from the race you want, and get a clear idea of the set, landscapes and key segments of the track. And the owners of the pavement meters can even make some money by uploading high-quality videos and routes.
Kinomap also offers running and rowing routes. All routes are available under one account.

The free version of RGT is limited to a few real routes: for example, the legendary Ventoux and other popular routes – from mountain passes to Cretan streets and cobbled roads – Stelvio, Paterberg, Formentor, etc.But the main idea is that members with a Premium account can invite other cyclists with a free version to join their group training. Rouvy has a limited number of these routes, redesigned into worlds that you can ride with your avatar with other cyclists. The Sufferfest
The Sufferfest pioneered making indoor workouts acceptable, even enjoyable. They invented the idea of combining real-life racing footage, entertaining storyline, killer music, and tough, structured workouts. The result was much more attractive than a simple Spin classes video and immediately attracted the attention of many athletes and amateurs.
Today, compared to the competition, this platform has more videos, better music and a highly developed workout library developed by Neil Henderson of APEX Coaching. They also have courses in yoga, strength training and mental fitness to pump all aspects of body and mind.
Subscribers can download workouts for offline use. A great option for a summer residence, for example.

BKool turns the real world into a virtual 3D simulation and allows you to train under your roof.
Veloton
The
Veloton is the only platform on this list that is yet to be finalized, but looks promising. It was created by the people who make the Virtupro trainer, and for now, beta testing is only available to those who own the trainer.
Why? Because it has built-in steering mechanisms that allow you to control your avatar. This is a key feature of Veloton because it is one of the few platforms (if not the only one) that prevents you from driving through another player’s avatar. This allows you to block cyclists during the sprint, use team tactics and ultimately better simulate riding in a pack.
Another key difference is that the Veloton does not use power measurements from a smart bike or bike to determine in-game speed. It only uses your speed sensor, so your avatar will move just like you do in the real world as you pedal your machine. It helps you move as you would in normal life and makes better use of drafting and descents to recover.
Key features:
– incredible realism,
– team and individual races,
– the ability to block and draft,
– turn around to control the attacks of opponents,
– the ability to turn, but so far only on the Virtu Pro Cycling simulator,
– very high quality graphics.
Price
There is no information yet on how the subscription will be arranged
Lazy Review
Real racing tactics, realistic drafting and stunning graphics can make Veloton a leader in virtual training when the platform launches.
CVRcade
Launched by ex-Zwift team members and pursuing an e-Sports dream, CVRcade took the ‘video game’ concept, added the training aspect and took it to the next level with some really cool features. The game has implemented not only sound chat, but also the influence of wind, drafting, the ability to turn and even accidents.
A complete race schedule with prize money and the fact that it is a completely free platform makes it stand out from other simulators. Their “Physical Equalization” algorithm helps equalize everyone’s power and put the focus on endurance, skill and strategy first.
You can compete alone or create teams, customize your avatar, maps and much more. Some skins, upgrades, and options are paid for, like Fortnite, Roblox, or Titanfall.
Key features:
– absolutely free platform,
– feel and appearance of Retro games,
– the ability to improve bicycles,
– internal audio speech,
– obliges to have skill for victory, not just pure power,
– ” Physical Equalization “allows you to compete with anyone,
– prize money.
Price
Free access with paid upgrades and skins.
Lazy Review
Want to compete with others in the style of a Tron movie? CVRcade allows you to skate in a video game with the opportunity to win prize money.
FulGaz
FulGaz is a training platform based on true HD cycling first-person video. Combined with a smart bike rack, it creates the feeling of being on the street. While other platforms rely on the virtual world and competition with other virtual characters to keep you interested during extended workouts on the machine, FulGaz tries to recreate a complete picture of true outdoor training, even on light off-road for gravel bike enthusiasts.
At the same time, FulGaz is a quality training platform with a smooth picture and advanced physics to make the virtual ride seem as real as possible. The clear statistics show all the details on the screen to support the training goal, but the indicators are unobtrusive if you just want to ride.
Key features:
– hundreds of real tracks from 24 countries are available for training: 596 routes and 11,711 kilometers of roads at the moment,
– new stars come in a weekly mailing to all users,
– all routes are captured in HD and react to the load user,
– ready-made workouts and training plans are superimposed on available routes,
– high-quality video works with Apple TV, iOS, Android, Windows 10.
Price
Almost like everyone else, 14-day free subscription, then $ 13 per month or $ 109 per year. With the purchase of an annual subscription, you can add one family member for free.
Lazy Review
FulGaz – real high quality videos captured from a bike and overlaid with GPS data to make the user feel as close as possible to a street trip and not part of a video game.
TrainerRoad
The ten main platforms listed above differ greatly in either the real picture on the road or the virtual gaming environment. But we cannot fail to mention TrainerRoad as one of the home workout software options. Although TrainerRoad is primarily a training tool and not a separate virtual world or interactive video platform, it is quite popular.
Its essence lies in the fact that you set a goal and get a ready-made plan. The program will give simple instructions, and you just need to monitor the power scale and keep up.
Key Features:
– customized structured workout plans based on experience and science,
– 1000 structured intervals for training,
– a workout process that works both at home and outdoors,
– analysis of the workout done to maintain progress,
– Take care of the entertainment content yourself – no distractions during your workouts.
Price
$ 20 per month, $ 190 per year. With the purchase of an annual subscription, you can add one family member for free.
Lazy review
Sweat, reaching its own goal. No games, no distractions. Only you and your efforts on the way to your goal. All this is TrainerRoad.
How about the Peloton compared to the Zwift and other tough bike platforms?
The
Peloton and its ilk can be viewed as a fitness product aimed at a completely different audience. Not because it would not have been able to develop cycling power, speed and endurance, but because of their positioning, equipment and training experience they offer.
Peloton offers a large community to dive into. The social aspect is that trainings are conducted by trainers in Live mode, and within the platform, you are assigned points for completing the workouts. But at the same time, the Peloton is far from the real feeling of driving on the road. You watch the same people and coaches on the simulators on the screen, which is more comparable to the virtual Spin Class, rather than somehow close to riding a bike on the highway.
For $ 39 a month and with an additional minimum investment of $ 2245 for an exercise bike, you will continue to pay every month without being able to ride it outside when the weather permits.
What about iFit? Or are there any other options?
iFit is the main alternative to Peloton, offering coached workouts. Their unique proposition is that training is not limited to just the Spin studio and outdoor rides.Running, rowing, and even strength training. Of course, you will need their equipment – bike, treadmill, rowing machine, and strength training machine – to use all the possibilities. Access to everything – with one subscription.
If your goal is to build a complete, multisport simulator at home, this is exactly what you need. This platform lacks a social dimension, but the landscapes are much better.
So what’s the point of choosing stationary simulators over training platforms? If you want one machine for the whole family, then this is the perfect solution.
What is the best platform for virtual training?
For our personal training goals and group training, we have chosen Zwift as the most popular and very dynamically developing platform in Russia. In fact, under conditions of quarantine, it provides the main thing – a social component, a game element, because of which you “join” in a training session or a race, the opportunity to compete in real races.
90,000 An IrkAZ employee became the hero of the film “True Stories”
RUSAL presented new films of the second season of the television project “True Stories” – documentary “short films” about the life of Russian metallurgists.
The heroes of the second season were the winners of the open Internet voting, during which the three best stories about the life and hobbies of the company’s employees were selected from 47 applications from all cities where RUSALA operates.
The second season of the True Stories project also consists of three films, and the presentation of two of them is timed to coincide with the Metallurgist Day. The story of Yuri Migurenko from SUBR will be released on the eve of Miner’s Day.
One of the films tells about a young employee of the Boguchansky aluminum plant Kirill Konovnitsyn, whose range of interests is wide: mountaineering, aggressive rollerblades, snowboarding, hockey and music. To shoot the material of the film, the film crew of the project went down with the hero from the ski slope, conquered the ramp in the center of extreme sports, attended the rehearsals of the musical group in the Palace of Culture in the village of Taezhny. Kirill is the successor of the dynasty of metallurgists and at the same time a bright representative of the millennial generation, successful both in work and in creativity.
Another hero Andrei Vybin is a unique representative of the collective of the Irkutsk Aluminum Smelter, who for a long time combined work in production with choreography.Andrey not only performed at Russian and international dance competitions, but also graduated from the East Siberian Academy of Culture with a degree in choreographic art and began teaching. Today he is the founder and artistic director of the dance theater in Shelekhov, which has more than 200 participants.
Both films of the second season of “True Stories” are published on the official website of the project istorii.rusal.ru, where you can also watch the video of the first season.
The True Stories TV project won several prestigious awards: in its piggy bank gold at the annual US International Film & Video Festival 2019 in Los Angeles in the Corporate Video nomination, three silver dolphins at the Cannes Corporate international festival of corporate and documentary films Media & TV Award 2018, gold award of the festival “Man of Labor” 2017 in the nomination “Best Hero of an Internet Project”.
The goal of the True Stories project is to tell about metallurgists as versatile and talented individuals, as well as to acquaint viewers with the wonderful places where they live and work. RUSAL is proud of its employees – they are dedicated people who achieve maximum results in everything they do. Therefore, the slogan of the project sounds like this: “Real stories, real people, a real country.”
Salomon ski equipment. Overview of the collection, technologies and novelties of the season “Winter 20-21”
Salomon is a long-term flagship in the market of not only ski equipment, but also new technologies in the entire segment of outdoor goods. The French company produces a wide range of equipment, clothing, accessories and protection for skiing and recreation.
Alpine skiing Salomon
Key Technologies in Alpine Skiing Salomon
Edge Amplifier – Fully integrated interface system redirects pressure to the edge at an angle for more grip on edges. This season, the technology has been refined and the slalom and giant slalom skis now use a variety of Edge Amplifiers to deliver even higher energy transfer to the edges, resulting in a 30% improvement in ski grip.On slalom skis, a dedicated Edge Amplifier provides increased ski flexibility and responsiveness, while GS models provide a stable edge grip at high speeds.
Compact Tip – construction of a short toe with a side cut line extending forward beyond the point of contact of the skis with the snow. This shape of the toe allows instant turn-in and provides a longer contact edge length than other models.
Crossover toe cap – TPU longitudinal inserts are used in the construction of the toe, replacing titanium. They work as a shock absorber and damp shocks much better. A layer of carbon reinforces the C / FX material and makes impact damping even more active. The new toe cap allows for a very smooth ride on uneven terrain and improves the ski’s ability to run smoothly on uneven snow.
The new Zebra and Panther topsheets in the women’s trail ski lines feature an embossed, rich design along the entire length of the women’s ski collection. The coating prevents scratches and keeps the skis in good condition for longer.
The
Metal Twin Frame in All-mountain models is a titanal layer over the wood core combined with C / FX for better stability and maneuverability.Windows are placed on the forefoot and heel to reduce torsional rigidity and increase maneuverability. Additional vibration damping with proprietary C / FX technology.
Full length braided C / FX carbon and linen for low weight, power and edge grip.
Cork Damplifier – special construction made of TPU frame and cork insert in the ski toe. The plug has 16 times better shock and vibration damping than the Koroyd. Its use in the toe of the ski provides a high level of vibration absorption and damping, with even less weight.
Full Dual Core is a completely new core made of solid poplar, encased in foam. This design makes the Salomon women’s cross country ski the lightest wood core ski on the market.
Salomon alpine ski collections presented in Kant:
Blast project piste skis – S / Race, S / Max and S / Force lines;
Blast project women’s cross-country skis – S / Max W and S / Force W lines;
Freeride Model Line – QST
Women’s Freeride Model Line – QST W
Line S / Race – sports top models, this season almost all skis, except for the updated GT, are new.The fastest, most powerful and accurate models for those who struggle on the tracks in hundredths of a second. The Race woodcore core, race sliding surface, two layers of titanium and a sandwich construction with ABS sidewalls along the entire length of the ski provide stability and power at speed. The S / Race models have an intuitive, fast and accurate arc start. There are six models in the S / Race line: S / Race PRO SL, S / Race PRO GS, S / Race RUSH SL, S / Race RUSH GS, S / Race GT, S / Race MT.
S / Race RUSH SL is a model for those who like slalom skiing, but on less jet skis.Precision and responsiveness.

S / Race RUSH GS – excellent skis for high-speed skiing with medium and long arcs. Combination of stability and agility.
Design Features: Full Sandwich, Edge Amplifier GS, Double Ti, Race Woodcore (beech and poplar), Deflection – camber, R Plate 79 interface.
Line S / Max – piste models for those who do not strive for an aggressive, sporty style of riding, ride only on prepared pistes, but at the same time enjoy the speed and cleanness of the arcs. The progressive notch and Compact Tip increase contact edge length and provide superior precision. The new Edge Amplifier Sl gives the ski a playful character and makes it easy to cut into turns. The 73mm waist is slightly wider than the older S / Race models, making the S / Max comfortable to ride on slightly bumpy slopes.A wide selection of sizes allows everyone to choose the best one for themselves.
S / Max Blast – the top model for experts, fans of fast skiing on prepared slopes. Reliable and powerful skis for experienced piste enthusiasts.
Design Features: Full Sandwich, Edge Amplifier Sl, Double Ti, Full Woodcore (ash), Deflection – camber in the middle zone, Plate 79 interface.
S / Max 12 is a model for experienced fans of fast skiing on prepared slopes and experts with light weight.Due to the poplar core, the model is not as powerful as the S / Max Blast.
Design features: Full Sandwich, Edge Amplifier Sl, Double Ti, Full Woodcore (poplar), Camber in the middle zone, Flextrak interface.
Women’s line S / Max W – piste models for skiers who ride only on prepared pistes and enjoy the speed and clean arcs. Amazingly lightweight thanks to the new Full Dual Wood Core, these models let you ride longer without getting tired. The new Edge Amplifier Sl gives the ski a playful character and makes it easy to cut into turns. With a waist width of 72 – 73 mm, the S / Max W models are comfortable to ride and on slightly bumpy slopes.
The S / Max W line has three completely new models with a mid-radius sidecut.
The following models are presented in “Kant”:
Line S / Force – wide piste models for carving enthusiasts, this is one of the modern trends in the development of alpine skiing.A feature of the models of this line is the Crossover sock, which works perfectly on uneven snow, which effectively absorbs vibrations and intense shocks, and also ensures constant contact with the snow. The width of the waist and this toe design make the S / Force ski an all-terrain vehicle with grippy edges and excellent carving properties. The skis are excellent at absorbing irregularities and allow you to draw clean arcs on prepared slopes in any snow condition.
The following models are presented in “Kant”:
S / Force Bold – model with a waist of 84 mm, the widest and most versatile in the line. For the powerful, fast-paced piste rider in all snow conditions – from the perfect morning velveteen to the smashed afternoon and spring porridge, choosing models for carving.
Design Features: Full Sandwich, Double Ti, Edge Amplifier GS, Crossover Tip, Full Woodcore (poplar). Deflection – rocker toe, camber mid, flat heel. Race Plate Interface 79.
The S / Force W line is a completely new line created for this season. These are track models with a slightly extended geometry, unlike the male models, they do not have titanal amplifiers, that is, the model is softer. A feature of the models of this line is the Crossover sock, which effectively absorbs vibrations and intense shocks and ensures constant contact with the snow. These features make the S / Force W an all-terrain vehicle with grippy edges and excellent carving properties. The skis are excellent at absorbing irregularities and allow you to draw clean arcs on prepared slopes in any snow condition.
The following models are presented in “Kant”:
All these models are completely new design.
S / Force Fever – the widest and most powerful model in the line with 80 mm waist, the Edge Amplifier GS is used in the construction. For women speed experts who choose models for carving and ride the trails in any snow condition – from morning corduroy to broken afternoon and spring porridge.
Design Features: Semi Sandwich, Edge Amplifier GS, Crossover Tip, Woodcore (Poplar).Deflection – rocker toe, camber mid, flat heel. Leisuretrak interface.
The line of freeride models – QST has not undergone any changes this season. These are models of skis of various widths – the widest are designed for virgin lands and spacious slopes, and the narrower models are for skiing next to pistes, spring snow and soft pistes. For the four older models of the Salomon line, special kamuses are produced.
Incendiary video about the exploits of the Salomon freeriding team on skis QST
The following models are presented in “Kant”:
QST 118 – top model of the line, a real devourer of virgin soil. The model is reliable and stable at high speeds thanks to the integrated cork damplifier technology in the forefoot and heel. When riding in the forest, maneuverability will be inadequate and less experienced riders may have problems.
Design Features: C / Fx Full Length, Full Sandwich Sidewall, Woodcore (Poplar), Cork Damplifier. Deflection – Twin Rocker, camber in the toe (26% in the toe, 22% in the heel).
The women’s line of freeride models QST W is characterized by the absence of the widest model, reduced length and weight, while the skis are so successful that they have won awards as unisex models. This season, the models of this line are produced unchanged and under the same names, that is, they are obviously very successful skis.
The following models are presented in “Kant”:

Key technologies in Salomon ski boots
- Custom Shell HD – Custom Shell HD technology is designed to provide a quick custom fit to the bottom of the boot in just 10 minutes – thinner wall construction and new shell materials bring the foot closer to the shell for improved responsiveness, more power and direct power transfer.
- Integrated Tech Inserts – metal toe and heel inserts for use with ski tour bindings.
- Coreframe – The Coreframe uses a thin-walled shell reinforced with a Coreframe instep insert for excellent slope feedback and instant power transfer to the edges of the skis. Thermoforming the boot with Coreframe increases the width of the boot + 4 mm in the scaphoid + 3 mm in the metatarsal area (6 mm on both sides).Thermoforming the boot with Coreframe 260 allows for an increase in the boot shaft + 11 mm at the top + 5 mm at the ankle (10 mm on both sides).
Women Calf Adjuster – wider (+11 mm) shank adapts to the morphology of different female legs.
Sense strap – The strap allows the uppermost area of the boot to be adapted as well as the Calf Adjuster to provide a personal fit.
Sense Amplifier – Soft pad in the area of the upper clip and power strap, providing a tight and precise grip on the upper part of the lower leg.
Sensifit Insert – A longer insert made of soft polyurethane for an exceptionally light fit and anatomical fit on the instep area.
Carbon Spine – Carbon spine at the rear of the boot that provides the required rigidity to the boot.
Surelock – a mechanism for switching the boot from walking mode – the bootleg allows you to easily bend the boot when going uphill, into the descent mode, when the bootleg is interlocked with the lower part and the boot provides the rigidity necessary for riding.
Oversize Pivot is an oversized pivot that connects the shaft to the bottom of the boot. Provides more accurate transmission of forces and no backlash.

90,000 things to look out for – re: Store Digest Blog
You don’t need to take your iPhone with you to keep track of your regular runs. You can limit yourself only to a smart watch that will record all the necessary information and transmit it to your smartphone after a workout. Here are the key points to watch out for.
When jogging, there should be no unnecessary things and devices that will interfere. We recommend that you pick up quality running shoes that reduce your risk of injury, and only take two gadgets with you: the Apple Watch and wireless headphones.
True running aficionados know that the best runs are not in the gym, but in the fresh air.Early morning and evening is the time to put on your sneakers and get out into the cool city park or the picturesque waterfront. You can leave your iPhone at home.
Topic: How and where is the best place to start running in Moscow
Use the Training app
The Workout app is designed specifically for Apple Watch, so you don’t need to take your iPhone for a run. When it is active, you will be able to see on the watch the distance that you managed to overcome, the time spent on the race, the number of calories burned, as well as the heart rate.Training results are saved for later analysis.
To start a workout, you just need to open the application of the same name, select the type of physical activity (in our case – “Running”) and start control with one touch. You can also set training target to . To do this, click on the button with the image of three dots.
You can get all the information you need about your workout simply by lifting your wrist and looking at your watch. In this case, you can select the most important information using the Digital Crown, and you can fix the jogging interval with two taps on the screen.
You have the option to pause your workout and then resume it at any time. To do this, just swipe from left to right. Swiping from right to left will help you control the music that can be played directly from your Apple Watch.

Alternative applications
To control your running training, you can use not only the built-in Training application, but also additional software. The developers of almost all sports trackers release programs for the Apple Watch , which make it possible to go for a run without an iPhone. Here are some good options:
These applications have unique capabilities. For example, Runtastic is not just a program, but a whole ecosystem for sports users. With it, you can record the result of your workout, share it with your friends, take part in a competition and try an individual program.

Fit Apple Watch correctly on your wrist
When you use the Workout app, Apple Watch measures your heart rate without stopping until the end of your activity. Therefore, the device can be used to continuously determine the optimal heart rate.
This data, along with other information that Apple Watch has gathered, helps the software estimate calories burned, running performance, and any other physical activity in the gym or outdoors.
The key to accurate heart rate measurement is wearing Apple Watch correctly. The watch strap should fit snugly around the hand without causing any discomfort. If the device is dangled from your wrist, the accuracy of heart rate detection will be reduced.
Best for running workouts are Apple’s classic fluoroelastomer pin-and-tuck sports straps, Nike models with holes, and Velcro sports bracelets in woven nylon.Leather and metal will not be so comfortable.
Choose your workout headphones
Apple Watch works with all earbuds that support Bluetooth 4.0 or higher or are equipped with Apple branded music chips: W1 (first AirPods, Beats Powerbeats3 Wireless) or h2 (2019 AirPods, Beats Powerbeats Pro). Here are the options:
Apple AirPods 2019 [14 490 ₽];
Apple AirPods 2019 with Wireless Charging Case [16,990 ₽];
Beats Powerbeats Pro [18 990 ₽];
Jabra Elite 65t Active [9,990 ₽];
Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay E8 2.0 [26 990 ₽];
Bowers & Wilkins P5 Wireless [R16,990].
Outdated Bluetooth wireless headphones lower than 4.0 may not work correctly with Apple Watch. Communication with them may be interrupted, they may not connect to the watch or play music from it. Better to give preference to newer models. Here’s how to connect them to your watch:
Step 1. Start the Bluetooth connection mode on the headphones (for this, use the instructions that come with them).
If you’ve already connected AirPods or Beats headphones with a W1 or h2 chip to your iPhone, you don’t need to start pairing mode on them – Apple Watch will automatically find them.
Step 2. Go to the Applications menu and open Settings.
Step 3. Open Bluetooth and select the headphones you want to connect.
Step 4. Enter a password or PIN if the earbuds are prompted to go to Apple Watch.
Download Music to Apple Watch
On Apple Watch Series 3 and newer, you can listen to any music from Apple Music without downloading it first. This requires an Apple Music subscription and an internet connection. You can use mobile internet from your iPhone or Wi-Fi if your smartphone is not nearby.
Apple Watch Series 2 or later requires you to preload music from your iPhone. You cannot play songs that you have not downloaded in advance. You can also download music to newer models to listen to it offline. Here’s how to do it:
Step 1. Connect your Apple Watch to the charger.
Step 2. On the iPhone, go to Settings> Bluetooth and make sure the wireless connection is active.
Step 3. Launch the Watch program and go to the “My Watch” section.
Step 4. Open the Music menu and select Add Music.
Step 5. Decide on the music recordings and wait until the synchronization is complete.
You can download up to 2GB of music to your Apple Watch. When you plug in your headphones, you can play downloaded songs through the Music menu. You can also select a dedicated workout playlist that will automatically play as soon as you start your running workout. You can do this on iPhone by going to Watch> Workout> Workout Playlist.
Here are some ready-made playlists for you:

Chatham House: US embargo blocks a constructive political approach to Cuba
The rights and disadvantages of the US embargo against Cuba have come to the fore again with the latest anti-government protests, in which President Miguel Diaz Canel blamed the country’s long-collapsed rudimentary economy on alleged US attempts to “destroy Cuba,” while embargo supporters protested , a kind of atonement for a failed 60-year policy.
In fact, neither is true, as, again, opposing sides of the blockade debate agree that they are overly trusted – whether it be the suffering of the Cubans or the myth of a redemptive, imminent regime change. The protests are in fact tied to a failed regime, a long-suffering people and a political system that firmly refuses to be held accountable to its citizens for maintaining the power of its leaders.
Ultimately, the blockade is a policy that has failed to achieve even minimal success in improving human rights on the island, but most Cubans no longer believe that the blockade is the cause of their suffering. They know the blame lies with a tough, ineffective government lacking the ideas to restart the economy or improve social services.
The US embargo is not only a red herring, but also an obstacle to sensible and constructive policies for Cubans and a solution to the problem of human rights. But that hasn’t stopped left-wing leaders in Latin America, such as former Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, from accusing the United States of the so-called “blockade” and calling for its end.
However, the complete embargo that the Trump administration left to President Joe Biden, and which has retained the White House since then, is also not perfect. Visiting restrictions on US citizens may not have mattered much during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the sale of drugs and food to the island is not banned by the embargo, but restrictions on remittances to the island have destroyed more than 3.5 billion lifebuoy. dollars for those who have friends or family in the United States.
Local videos show that many Cubans taking to the streets are Afro-Cubans, abandoned by the regime and without remittances, as inequality grows on a supposedly post-racial, egalitarian, post-revolutionary island.
For the Biden administration, Trump’s boastful embargo policy still in place leaves the United States with little leverage to punish the Cuban regime for the brutal treatment of its citizens. Recent signs of rare, limited, rhetorical recognition of responsibility by Cuban government officials have been accompanied by proposed changes by Diaz Canel and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz that are more eloquent than meaningful.
One recent “concession” by the Cuban authorities temporarily allows travelers bringing goods to the island to be exempted from government taxes – a reform that is perhaps the most blatant recognition of the regime’s own failures in helping those left behind in Castro’s Paradise.
The humanitarian crisis in Cuba has been brewing for some time, but the continuing eruptions of popular discontent are giving the United States and the democratic governments of Europe and America an opportunity to blaze a new path.
The Biden administration’s cautious statements in support of Cubans’ right to assemble and make demands free of regime change rhetoric are a good start, but demands for an international response to Cuba’s demands are mounting. Some proponents of the embargo argue that citizens taking to the streets demanding food and work is a testament to a failed 60-year policy. Some proponents of lifting the embargo – not just past and current Latin American presidents – argue that lifting the US embargo is now a moral imperative.
Neither is true. The lifting of the embargo now that the Cuban government is mobilizing its supporters and security forces to crush peaceful demonstrators does not make strategic sense, because it would be a concession without any return. Proponents of the embargo strongly argue that removing the heel of American boots from the throat of the Cuban government gives that government an undeserved respite, even if it would lessen the desperation of the people. But isn’t that what the US should be trying to do?
Admittedly, the current “rat nest” of the US embargo has been a setback for telecommunications companies and concerned citizens in the US who have struggled to keep the Cuban Internet running despite Diaz Canel’s efforts to suppress it.The embargo blocked initial plans to integrate Wi-Fi and the Internet in Cuba, and only the Obama-era reforms made this possible, despite outraged protests from the embargo’s supporters.
Regardless of which embargo is right or wrong, this is the moment when creative multilateral diplomacy can cross the fine line between opponents and supporters of the embargo. A simple call from the Biden administration for a stronger humanitarian relief campaign – either through local nongovernmental networks such as Caritas or multilateral offices such as the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) – would blunt accusations of “gringo intervention” and channel international criticism of the “blockade” into effective action.
Supporters of the “blockade” myth will say that increasing aid is not enough, but they are unlikely to deny the suffering of the Cubans and the intransigence of the regime simply in the name of political posturing. Defenders of the US embargo will say that this is a concession, but a concession aimed at helping the Cuban people as well as an opportunity to find a foothold for the international community.
Ultimately, it is about lives and the quality of political and economic rights, but unfortunately many international leaders and the Cuban government seem to prefer embargo rhetoric rather than admitting misconceptions of past beliefs or changing course.Despite the wait-and-see game in overturning Trump-era rules, now is the time for the Biden administration to spearhead global aid to Cuba.

Gatestone Institute: Enemies of the State
The Biden administration, Big Tech and other organizations will go to almost any extreme, including propaganda, to advance their priorities. Their COVID vaccine efforts could be a trial version of what we might see in the next three years on a number of issues. In terms of vaccines, we’ve already seen social media censor those who express legitimate concerns or object to various COVID vaccines.
“Now we need to go to the community by following the community, district by district, and often door to door – literally knocking on doors – to provide help to the remaining people to protect themselves from the virus,” President Biden said.
Trusted local leaders can walk from house to house to discuss vaccinations. The administration can also enlist large technology companies to guide our views on countless issues by controlling our access to information.
Make no mistake, this is a huge propaganda work and it is worrying. A campaign that “suppresses conversation; the person on the contrary is no longer an interlocutor, but an enemy, ”wrote the French philosopher Jacques Ellul in his book“ Propaganda: Forming People’s Attitudes ”. Taken together, the administration’s efforts paint a picture of an emerging, out-of-control police state. Those of us who disagree with the administration are no longer citizens, it seems that we have become enemies of the state.
How America is changing. In my 18 years as a congressman, I have met frequently with voters who have expressed their opinions on politics. Our views diverged many times, but even then we were able to discuss our differences in a constructive and polite manner. Compare that to how the current administration treats those who disagree with them about their key priorities, including COVID vaccines.
Skeptics are denounced what the administration now seems to see as a necessity and justification for retaliation. In the past few days, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said the administration is working with Big Tech to fix “misinformation.” This is censorship. They are doing this more and more, banning President Trump, initially banning discussion of the origins of the COVID virus (overturning their wrong decision a year later), as well as a shadowy ban on conservative writers and groups. They present themselves as arbiters of truth. Before, Americans were in a position where they could decide for themselves.
However, the Biden administration appears poised to go further. They will recruit “trusted messengers who are part of the community” to go door-to-door, ”said Dr. Anthony Fauci. Don’t come to my door! Americans don’t want so-called out-of-the-box community ambassadors to knock on our doors and ask personal questions about health and more.
During my political career, I knocked on many doors and from my own experience I was convinced how much people relate to the inviolability of their home. Mr. President, this is a really bad idea and should be abandoned.
Charlie Kirk’s group, Turning Point USA, recently wrote to their supporters:
“Throughout history, dictators have sent government agents to intimidate people in their own homes … forcing them to obey government orders. The result of these brutal tactics has always been less freedom and forced submission … “
So, this administration no longer trusts the personal judgments of its citizens and wants to enter your homes to “change your mind.” While these first two steps are pretty straightforward and straightforward, the third part of their strategy can be the scariest one. They can start using revolutionary social media technologies against anyone who disagrees with their “official” policies, calling these people “extremists”, and then using this technology against their newly appointed internal enemies.
In the ongoing war against ISIS (banned in Russia) and Al Qaeda (banned in Russia), technology wizards have developed technology to identify potential terrorists (the enemy) over the Internet. These wizards then manipulate potential terrorists’ social media interactions to control and channel the content they receive to dissuade them from radicalizing — an admirable and laudable goal we need to defeat true enemies and terrorists.
I fear that President Biden or others may use these same strategies against individuals who oppose the administration’s policies. When people interact with social media, the federal government will work with Big Tech to plan actions that will redirect their requests to sites designed to give them the “right” answer.
Sounds unlikely? Moonshot CVE, a Google-backed company that works with the Pentagon, says it uses “targeted advertising to connect people looking for violent extremist content on the Internet with constructive alternative messages.”It goes on to say that they applied their methodology in partnership with tech companies, governments and grassroots organizations to challenge ISIS, al-Qaeda and violent ultra-right narratives. Just swap places with conservatives, anti-vaccination activists, or even libertarians where you see ISIS or extremists and you will begin to understand the problem we are facing.
Rather than the federal government using its immense power to facilitate our access to knowledge and information, thereby enhancing our individual freedom and decision-making ability, the Biden administration seems to seek to become a giant propaganda machine targeting its perceived enemies.
This is a civil liberties nightmare. And the Biden administration may target more than prominent conservatives; they can come for you.
