Our Mission is to help children and individuals with special needs reach their highest potential physical and cognitive function while enhancing self-esteem and emotional growth.
Camp Care Inc., a not-for-profit organization that began as a day camp in 1997, has evolved into year-round programs. The expanding programs offer various ways to enhance the developmental process in children and individuals with special needs, as well as provide an avenue for people to get involved with community service opportunities. Our indoor therapeutic horseback riding program which provides equine-assisted activities, has been named a Premier Accredited Center by PATH, Int’l, The Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International. The indoor arena allows participants to ride year round. In addition our recently established boot camp program allows modified physical fitness classes three days a week throughout the year. The intensive summer and winter day program offers physical therapy for the child and a chance for families to enjoy each other while finding a network of support from other families.
Camp Care therapies are provided at the Crossroads Physical Therapy Facility, and recreational activities are held within the Camp Care grounds and community. Meaningful and enjoyable experiences motivate children with special needs to actively participate in educational and therapeutic exercises, resulting in more effective treatment outcomes. Camp Care therapists and parents have witnessed first-hand these positive outcomes in children who have attended our programs.
Camp Care is open to people of all faiths as well as to those with no particular religious affiliation. This is where community begins – acceptance, development, faith, hope and love.

Colombia
Travel to Colombia can be planned in any season, with a few exceptions, all regions are characterized by favorable climatic conditions. The air temperature here depends on the height above sea level, in general, with a rise for every 1000 meters, the temperature drops by 6 degrees. In Colombia, there is no clear division of the seasons; winter is the rainy season in April, May, October and November. But even during this period, precipitation is not constant, usually short heavy rains occur once a day. Summer is a dry period from December to March and from July to August.
The main tourist season begins in mid-December and lasts until the end of January, then includes the Easter week and the month from mid-June to mid-July.
Temperatures:
to 1000 m – Tropical climate with an average temperature of 25 degrees, these zones are called “tierra caliente” – hot land.
1000-2000 m – Temperate climate with average temperatures of 18 – 24 degrees – “temperate land” Weather roughly corresponds to the summer climate of Central Europe.
2000-3000 m – Cold climate with temperatures of 12 – 18 degrees, “cold earth”. Corresponds to the spring-autumn climate of Central Europe.
above 3000 m – Landscapes “paramo” – cold highlands with temperatures below 12 degrees and eternal snow starting from 5000 m.above ur. m.
Security
Colombia is often considered not a very safe country to travel. However, we are confident that you can have a great trip. Most of the tourists we worked with say that they felt safer in Colombia than in many other Latin American countries.
The greatest fears among tourists should be caused by street scammers and thieves, who must beware not only in Colombia, but also in other countries of the region.
Regions
Caribbean
The Caribbean coastline stretches for 1600 km and offers much more than a beach holiday, it has a rich history and culture to suit all tastes.
Stunning colonial cities and pre-Columbian culture blend with magical beaches in small bays that turn into tropical rainforests. The presence of more than 10 national parks in this region guarantees the preservation of these ecosystems.
Developed tourist infrastructure offers accommodation for every taste and budget: from upscale hotels to typical Caribbean huts. The characteristic cheerfulness of the locals facilitates the acquaintance and mutual understanding between the indigenous people and the tourists.
What to visit:
- Cartagena. Cartagena de Indias was founded in 1533 and now it is probably one of the most attractive cities in South America. In the old part of the city, behind the ramparts, the colonial charm emanates from the flowered balconies and heavy oak doors. Cartagena has the perfect blend of colonial history and modern “joie de vivre”, complemented by beautiful beaches with crystal waters on the Rasario Islands, friendly people and a wide range of excursions and activities.
- Santa Marta. Santa Marta is the first city founded in Colombia by the Spanish conqueror Rodrigo de Bastidas in 1525. Its close location to the highest peaks in the country on the one hand, and the Caribbean coast on the other, make the city interesting for observing local flora and fauna. The historical significance of the place is given by the fact that in 1830 Simon Bolivar died on his estate near the city.
- Tayrona National Park. The national park protects incredibly beautiful landscapes on an area of 15 thousand hectares to the west of Santa Marta. Here you will find picturesque bays, exotic vegetation, palm-fringed beaches and over 100 species of mammals, including possum and wild cat, as well as a variety of birds, including condors and sea eagles. The beaches of the park are a great place to relax and swim, although in some places you need to be careful due to the strong underwater currents. The park has many trails for leisurely walks and active hikes.
- San Andres and Providencia. San Andres is the largest island of the three (the other two are Providencia and Santa Catalina), its length is 26 sq.km. This is one of the most beautiful places in Colombia, a true Caribbean paradise. Providencia is a deserted, tropical island covered in coconut trees. It is the ideal place for a relaxing break for a few days. The turquoise waters and coral reefs are ideal for diving and snorkelling.
Also:
- Baranquilla
- Rosario Islands
- Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range
- La Guajira
Andes
The Colombian Andes are formed by three mountain ranges parallel to each other from north to south. The largest cities in the country are located here, including the capital, Bogota.
The archaeological, historical, cultural and natural diversity of this area is impressive: small colonial villages, archaeological ruins, coffee hacienda, snow-covered mountain peaks, a variety of climatic conditions and vegetation allow everyone to find something to their liking.
What to visit:
- Bogota. The capital of Colombia is located in the center of the country at an altitude of about 2650 m.above ur. m. This is the largest city in the country – it is home to 8 million people. The city’s cultural life is represented in museums, theaters and libraries, many of which are the largest in the country.
- Medellin is known as the “city of eternal spring” due to its warm year-round climate. This is one of the largest cultural centers in the country; such major events as the Flower Show, the International Poetry Festival and many others are held here.
- Cali is Colombia’s third largest city.It is also known as the capital of salsa. This dance is an important expression of the culture and traditions of Kali. It hosts the annual International Salsa Festival.
Coffee region
On the western slopes of the Central Cordilleras in Colombia lies a coffee region known for its typical hacienda estates, snow-capped volcanoes and traditional villages. Here you will find some of the best coffees in the world, and it is this area that has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a ‘Cultural Coffee Landscape’.This region grows about 10% of the coffee produced and consumed in the world.
Also:
- Boyaca (Tunja, Villa de Leyva, Rakira, Chikinkira, Tota, etc.)
- Santander (Bucaramanga, San Gil, etc.)
- El Alto Magdalena (Melgar, Onda, Ibake, Popayan, etc.)
Pacific Coast
The Pacific Coast is one of the wildest and most exotic regions of Colombia and all of Latin America. The region is known for its enormous biological diversity and serves as a kind of laboratory for scientists – oceanographers and botanists. If you have an exploratory spirit, good eyesight and diligent attention, then you also have a chance to discover unclassified species of flora and fauna.
Every year from July to October, humpback whales come to this coast after their eight thousand km long journey from Antarctica. Warm coastal waters are ideal for rearing offspring. The guided tours do not interfere with the usual activities of whales and leave an indelible impression on tourists.
The Pacific Coast is also ideal for diving thanks to its rich underwater life.

- Capurgana
Amazonia
Colombian Amazon is the largest region of the country, it is located on the left bank of the longest river in the world and is completely covered with rain forests. The Great Amazon and its many tributaries flow through deep forests and vast savannas, partially protected in nature reserves. Traveling through these spaces allows tourists to discover the beauty of wild landscapes that are full of extraordinary secrets.
What to visit:
- Leticia: the capital of the department is Leticia, the base of numerous research projects in the field of ecology. This place, interesting in terms of biodiversity, indigenous culture and cuisine, has become a major center for ecotourism in recent years.Numerous routes along the Amazon, its tributaries and lakes start from here.
- Amakayaku National Park. Created in 1975, this park covers an area of 293’500 hectares, protecting the plant, animal and cultural diversity of the region. It is home to the indigenous Chikunas and Uitotos communities.

I want to travel Mountain camp in Crimea – Baydarskaya valley
The Baydarskaya Valley is one of the most amazing and beautiful places on the Crimean Peninsula. It is surrounded on all sides by picturesque mountains. Summers in the valley are not very hot, and winters are slightly cooler than in Yalta. A huge advantage of the Baydar Valley is the fact that of all the large valleys, it is located as close as possible to the southern coast of Crimea. In the valley itself there is a considerable number of geological, historical and ethnographic, water and other attractions. Within walking distance from the accommodation there are observation platforms with views of the valley and the southern coast of Crimea, several picturesque waterfalls, two beautiful canyons, several amazing karst caves, the mystical “Temple of the Sun” and many other attractions.
