When is Lacrosse Season? Your Lacrosse Questions Answered – LaxWeekly
When is the lacrosse season? That’s one of the most common questions people ask me when I talk about lacrosse. With so many different levels of lacrosse, it can be confusing to know when the actual season starts and ends. Today I want to clarify all of the confusion so you can know exactly when the lacrosse season is.
So, when is lacrosse season? For most non-pro lacrosse players, lacrosse season is during the spring. For pro lacrosse players, lacrosse season is during the summer.
Let’s look at the lacrosse season for each level of lacrosse:
NCAA – Division 1, 2 and 3 Lacrosse Season
For NCAA lacrosse players, the first lacrosse game usually happens on February 1st and ends on Memorial Day Weekend where the NCAA Lacrosse Championships happen. Thus, NCAA lacrosse is a spring sport. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the season:
- Regular Season Games: Feb 1st – End of April
- Conference Championships: Early May
- Playoffs: Early May – Memorial Day Weekend
After teams play a number of regular season games, they play in a conference tournament. For example, Duke and Virginia lacrosse are in the ACC, so they compete in the ACC lacrosse tournament. Winners of the conference tournament have an automatic spot in the playoffs.
Even though lacrosse games are played in the spring, there is a large amount of practice and preparation done in the fall. You’ll hear people call it “fall ball.” Pretty much the moment lacrosse players step foot on campus, they are training for lacrosse. This could be in the form of captains-only practices, lifting sessions or individual shooting sessions. Most college lacrosse teams will also scrimmage other teams in order to prepare for the real season.
There has certainly been backlash from lacrosse coaches and players with such an early start to the lacrosse season. With many lacrosse schools in the Northeastern US, February games are often played in the snow and ice. This is certainly not ideal weather to play lacrosse.
And don’t forget about the summer. Even though lacrosse players aren’t in school, they are almost certainly following some sort of training program given to them by their lacrosse coaches. Many of the fitness tests happen when players get back in the fall, so players must stay in shape in the summer and train.
Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) Lacrosse Season
The Premier Lacrosse League is the sport’s most popular league. It starts at the tail end of the NCAA lacrosse season and ends during September. Thus, PLL lacrosse is a summer sport. Here’s a breakdown of the season in more detail:
- Regular Season: End of May – End of August
- Playoffs: All of September
With the small number of teams in the PLL (7 teams as of now), it wouldn’t make sense to split the teams into conferences, so there isn’t a conference championship.
In addition to the normal lacrosse season, each PLL team hosts a training camp 2 weeks prior to the start of the season. This gives the teams an ample amount of time to develop chemistry and strategy before they start the season
Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Lacrosse Season
The MLL is lacrosse’s other outdoor league. The season starts at the end of May and ends in Mid-August, thus making MLL lacrosse a summer sport.
- Regular Season: End of May – Mid August
- Playoffs: August – September or October
High School Lacrosse Season
With each state having its own set of lacrosse rules, it’s difficult to give one answer for the high school lacrosse season. For most East Coast states, lacrosse season starts late February/Early March and ends by the time school is out. This varies state by state though.
For example, I live in Texas and our lacrosse season started in early February and ended late May. For my friends in other states, the season didn’t start until mid-March and ended in Early June.
Club (Select) Lacrosse Season
More serious lacrosse players tend to play for a select or club team in addition to their high school team. These club teams give players the chance to get recruited by college lacrosse coaches and sharpen their skills outside of school lacrosse.
Most club lacrosse teams play in the summer and fall. During the summer, lacrosse players travel from all across the country to different lacrosse tournaments. I’d say a majority of the “elite” tournaments take place in East Coast states such as Maryland or New York.
When I played club lacrosse, I spent my summers traveling all over the country to Colorado, Virginia, North Carolina, Massachusetts, etc.
During the fall, club teams play in local tournaments since school is in session. Fall lacrosse is more important than ever with early recruiting.
2021 Big Ten Men’s Lacrosse Tournament Bracket Announced

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced the 2021 Big Ten Men’s Lacrosse Tournament bracket Sunday. The Big Ten Tournament will feature a six-team field and will begin with two quarterfinal games that will be played on the campus of the higher seeds on Saturday, May 1.
No. 1 seed Maryland and No. 2 seed Rutgers have earned first-round byes and will open tournament play in the semifinals on May 6. Both the semifinals and the championship game on May 8 will be hosted at Penn State’s Panzer Stadium in University Park, Pa. All five tournament games will be televised live on the Big Ten Network and can also be streamed via the web, smartphones, tablets and connected devices through FOX Sports Go and the FOX Sports App.
Maryland earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament and a first-round bye after finishing the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record. The Terrapins, who are currently ranked No. 1 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division I Coaches Poll, secured the outright Big Ten title when they defeated Ohio State, 18-8, on April 18.
The Terrapins will play in the first semifinal on May 6 against the winner of the tournament’s first quarterfinal matchup between No. 4 seed Ohio State (4-6) and No. 5 seed Michigan (2-8) with that quarterfinal to be played at 4 p.m. (ET) Saturday.
Rutgers, who is currently ranked No. 6 in the USILA poll, earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament following a 8-2 regular-season campaign. The Scarlet Knights will compete in the second semifinal against the winner of the tournament’s second quarterfinal matchup between No. 3 seed Penn State (4-6) and No. 6 seed Johns Hopkins (2-8), which will be played at 6 p.m. (ET) Saturday. Penn State earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament via a head-to-head tiebreaker over Ohio State, having won both games against the Buckeyes during the regular season.
Johns Hopkins and Michigan finished the regular season with identical 2-8 records and split their two-game head-to-head series. Both teams also held the same winning percentage against all conference opponents and had a net-0 goal differential in their head-to-head matchups due to the official tiebreaker language which awards a maximum differential of either plus-3 or minus-3 goals per game. The next tiebreaker comes down to goal differential against all conference opponents and maintains the same maximum differential threshold of plus-3 or minus-3 goals per game. The Blue Jays and Wolverines remained tied after implementing that tiebreaker and thus the No. 5 and No. 6 seeds were determined by a coin flip administered by the Big Ten Conference. Michigan won the coin flip and was awarded the No. 5 seed in the tournament.
The Big Ten semifinals will be played at 5 and 7:30 p.m. (ET) May 6, with the championship game slated for 8 p.m. (ET) May 8.

ACC Women’s Lacrosse Opens NCAA Tournament Play This Weekend

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Six Atlantic Coast Conference teams will compete in the 2021 NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship beginning this weekend. ACC teams comprise over 20 percent of the 29-team field, as the ACC leads all leagues with six teams in the tournament, including five of the eight seeds.
The first round will be held Friday, with four ACC teams in action, while the second round will be contested Sunday. Top-seeded North Carolina and No. 3 seed Syracuse earned first-round byes.

• Six ACC teams earned berths in the 2020 NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship, including national seeds North Carolina (1), Syracuse (3), Boston College (4), Notre Dame (5) and Duke (7). Virginia also received an at-large bid.
• The ACC owns 15 NCAA Women’s Lacrosse titles. North Carolina was the last ACC team to win the NCAA Championship in 2016.
• The ACC has had a team in the national title game 10 times in the last 11 seasons.

A Week in the Life of an NCAA DI Lacrosse Goalie
For many aspiring young goalies the dream is to play lacrosse for an NCAA Division I (DI) university.
I recently had the opportunity to chat with a goalie who is currently living that dream as DI goalie in the Patriot League.
Among other things we discussed his weekly routine, their team’s practice plans, his personal workout schedule, and how he and his team prepare for games.
If you’ve ever wondered what kind of work ethic you need to be a DI lacrosse goalie, the conversation and this post was a real eye-opener.
My bet is most goalies with the dream of playing DI ball don’t put in enough work. Read the post and determine for yourself.
Here is a week in the life of an NCAA DI goalie from his perspective. To avoid the hurdle of having to get clearance with his athletic department we’ve purposely left out his name and any reference to the university.
NCAA rules stipulate that you need to have one day off per week while your team is in season. Being on a Division I college lacrosse team we tend to use every hour that allowable trying to improve our team and ourselves.
I am a goalie so my week maps out a little differently then a lot of the other guys on my team, but the sentiment remains the same: Work Hard, Get Better, Win The Day.
To give you a basic breakdown before I get into specifics, a typical week consists of roughly 15 hours of practice time, 2-3 hours of film, 2-3 hours of required maintenance lifts, and 1 (potentially 2) games.
This is of course not including all extra wall-ball, getting extra shots, physical therapy, recovery, schoolwork, and required study hall. In total, I would say that individually I spend well over 40 hours a week doing lacrosse related activities.
Even though it may seem like a consistent schedule, every day is different. We could have practice at 6am one day and then at 7pm the next; this fortunately keeps it exciting (Not that it wouldn’t be otherwise).
Some people say that this is either monotonous, or too much for a bunch of 18-22 year olds. To those people I say this: You have no idea the feeling you get as you step onto your home field to take on an opponent!
The first thing I mentioned is the roughly 15 hours of practice we have per week. During the spring we practice on a more consistent time slot schedule generally alternating between a 1-4pm practice or a 4-7pm practice time.
What these practices consist of depends on a variety of things.
When our coaches make the practice plan they consult with the strength and conditioning coaches, our captains, and of course each other.
Are the guy’s legs still sore from our last game? Fewer full field drills. Did we have a day of shooting yesterday? Extra minutes of positioned based work during practice to get some more in.
What if it’s the Sunday after a game, but we have a midweek game? Shortened, but heavy stick work practice, and we will lay off the starters a bit for any game like drills we do.
All of these things both affect our practice, and what the goalies typically do during it.
While the rest of the team does a dynamic stretch to warm up, the goalies are warming up in a different way with our goalie coach.
Now a lot of goalies, and goalie coaches have different customs in terms of what they trust and incorporate into their warm up, but I really enjoy ours.
First thing we do after we stretch is start passing the ball around to each other around the cage at a fast pace, a hard game of catch.
We then take a few steps in after enough rotations around and pick the pace up. This continues until we can almost smell each others breath, it’s a great way to get the hands warmed up.
I think for me it is very important to always do all of my throwing drills with my goalie stick. While there are certainly beneficial aspects to using a shorty when throwing around it can also make you develop habits that don’t translate over to your game time stick. In terms of getting warmed up with one, it’s not a bad idea, but I also have two different methods for this.
The first being using a goalie stick with no mesh (no stick drill described here). This helps you get your body in front of the ball as well as your stick (use tennis balls). The second being using a weighted goalie shaft, this will help you increase your hand speed as well as give you elevated shoulder and arm endurance.
After the game of catch we will go into foot latter drills to work the other very important group of muscles for us keepers.
Then we will bring it all together by doing some shadow stepping drills by stepping to stationary balls that we place in front of us (3 stations goalie drill described here).
We do all this BEFORE WE EVEN STEP IN THE GOAL!
The next thing we try to do is really engage our hand eye coordination by hopping in cage without our sticks. I’m sure a lot of goalies swear by playing without a stick to warm up, and that’s because it works.
You don’t need to throw it hard to really work yourself, and it gets your hands moving to the ball quicker. If you don’t do this lacrosse goalie drill I really recommend that you incorporate it into your warm up or your extra work, all you need is a friend and a ball.
Then comes the fun part, taking shots.
Every goalie is different in terms of strengths and weaknesses, so we adjust the shots we are taking to fit what need to work on, on any particular day.
It is obviously very important to get shots even to places where you see yourself as strong, but teams scout weaknesses just as much and probably more then strengths.
Goalies must take that into consideration, and during our practice time we try to do this consistently.
Throughout the rest of the practice, we can be doing anything from doing ground ball drills, passing drills, live game scenarios, or just listening to what our goalie coach thinks we need to focus on over the course of the week.
All of this comes together to make a complete practice for a goalie, if you’re not sweating by the end of it your doing something wrong!
Outside of practice our time is certainly more relaxed.
During the season the focus of our lifts is strictly to maintain. This is mostly due to the workload that the season brings with it, and the potential for injury because of overworking.
This means we will do shorter, and lighter lifts fewer times a week.
Like our practice, the goalies can a lot of times be focusing on different exercises then a lot of the guys. I know for me I like to primarily focus on long conditioning, explosive full body lifts, core, and jumping rope.
I personally believe that exercise consisting of those things makes me a better goalie simply based off of what is expected at the goalie position today.
In season I like to work out 3-4 times a week, I also compound my lifts with a lot of stretching, and rolling out with a PVC pipe to stay loose and prevent injury.
All of this is equally important to maintain balance as a goalie (for me at least).
The other parts of my week primarily consist of film and extra work like wall ball and getting shot on.
Film is very important for a few reasons. Perhaps most importantly is that getting the chance to watch yourself play you see what you cannot feel. Whether it is a hitch in how you move your stick when making a save, or an improper step.
If you are watching film on another team it also helps you dissect tendencies in the other teams shooters, which can help any goalie quite a lot.
I like to play wall ball at least 4 times a week in season, that number only goes up in the off season. I also like to get shot on about 2-3 times per week in season dependent on how much rubber I am seeing in practice.
Sometimes it is equally important to decompress and take a little bit of time to simply not think about lacrosse no matter how hard it may seem.
All of this work within the week culminates in everyone’s favorite day: Game Day.
Nothing like it, putting in all the work day to day and getting to walk onto your home field with your team colors on. This is why we play; this is why we put in all that work, from the first save of the game to the last, and every one in between.
Fall Ball is quite a bit different from being in season; you are lifting and running a lot more, and practicing a lot less.
Whereas in the season we will be practicing 5-6 days a week, fall ball tends to be only 3-4 times.
We are also lifting 4 days out of the week, with a lot of added conditioning to make sure everyone is in shape when it comes time to start scrimmaging teams later on.
The practices are very high intensity so that all the new guys can get acclimated to the speed of the college game.
Where in the spring we will mostly focus on fine-tuning everything day to day, the fall we will focus on toughness, energy, and progression.
Most schools will also use the fall as a time to take a conditioning test, it is different for most teams, and for us has changed every year. If you don’t pass whatever test they put on the table, you don’t play till you do.
This is a make or break time of year, and while the starting lineup is generally far different from the spring to the fall you can pick out the guys that have IT and the guys that don’t.
Above all fall ball is a time to work on yourself, and your connection with your team, it is not to be taken for granted as it can significantly impact your next few seasons.
An explanation of IT: This does not necessarily mean skill; in fact I would say that is the smallest part of IT.
The majority of the guys on your team will have been All-Americans, Captains, Star Players, etc. What IT means is your ability to work hard, listen, learn, and progress.
Being coachable is something that is looked for at this level, if you have some flaws, but are a coachable player then you will be looked at in a positive light, it is not good to be on the other side of this.
A typical day for me looks like this:
- 7:00AM – Wake up, eat breakfast
- 7:45AM – Drive to class
- 8-9:30AM – Class
- 10-11:15AM – Lift
- 11:25-11:50AM – Lunch
- 12-1PM – Class
- 1-4PM – Practice
- 4-4:45PM – Wall ball, extra shots
- 5:30-6:30PM – Eat Dinner
- 7-10PM – Study hall
Not all my days are this packed, some days I may not be lifting, or a class will get cancelled, I might also simply be resting up.
Game Days and the day leading up to it tend to be quite a bit different, for the sake of showing the difference I will show an Away game schedule because of how different it is.
- 6AM – Wake up, eat breakfast, and check my travel bag.
- 7AM – Head down to locker room, double check everything
- 7:45AM – Get on bus and head to wherever we may be playing
- 12-2PM – Arrive, Eat Lunch, Check into hotel, get ready to practice
- 2:30-4PM – Get to practice field, suit up, pre-game walkthroughs
- 4-6PM – Back to hotel, Shower up, rest, get dressed for dinner
- 7:15-8PM – Team Dinner
- 8:15-8:45PM – Film
Rest of evening is off and time to relax.
Game day schedule varies by time of game but before the game we will always:
- Eat 1-2 meals
- Shoot around
- Go over game plan
- Cover any last minute questions
- Go beat our opponent

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The 2021 Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Championship will start on Tuesday, May 4, with the quarterfinal rounds hosted by Boston University and Loyola Maryland.
Loyola Maryland will host Navy in the South Division quarterfinal at 5 p.m. Boston University will host Colgate in the North Division quarterfinal at 6 p.m. Both quarterfinal round games will be available live on ESPN+.

Men’s Lacrosse Opens Patriot League Championships Tuesday as Navy Comes to Ridley
Loyola and Navy will meet for the 15th time in series history and the first time in Patriot League Championship play when they take the field on Tuesday evening. The Greyhounds have won six of the last eight meetings as Patriot League opponents and hold a 9-5 all-time lead in the series, but Navy won the most-recent meeting, a 14-12 decision on April 17 at Ridley. The teams met twice during the regular-season, with the Greyhounds scoring a 14-10 victory in Annapolis on April 3.

Tuesday night will mark the first time in the program’s 114-year history that Navy will play the same team three times in a season. Terriers to Host Colgate Tuesday in Patriot League Quarterfinal Contest
This will be the third meeting this season between BU and Colgate, with the Terriers sweeping the regular-season series with a 16-11 home win on March 20 and a 14-10 road victory on April 10. BU has won three straight games against Colgate dating back to last season and is 6-3 all-time against the Raiders. Tuesday will be the third time that BU has hosted a Patriot League quarterfinal matchup.

Colgate is back in the Patriot League tournament for the first time since 2018. The Raiders and Terriers meet for the third time this season and the first time in the Patriot League Tournament. BU won 16-11 in Boston back in March and 14-10 in Hamilton last month, lifting the Terriers to a 6-3 series advantage on three wins in a row. Colgate in its most recent outing pushed No. 11 Army to the finish in a 13-11 decision.

What Are The New Rule Changes in NCAA Women’s Lacrosse
The rules of women’s lacrosse can seem complicated and ever-changing. In the past several years that is true, the rules have progressed a lot, and they continue to change. The NCAA Panel recently approved rule changes for the 2021-22 season and some of these are big.
Let’s just say women’s lacrosse has come a long way from when there were no sidelines. The rule changes have made the game quicker and faster, these newly approved rules were intentionally made to make the game “more efficient.”
In 2017, the added the 90 second shot clock to Division-I play. This sped up the game tremendously. The shot clock starts at the change of possession. So, if the goalie makes a save, right away clock goes to 90 seconds, team has to clear the ball, make it to their offensive side, and score in 90 seconds.
A rule change that was approved in this current panel is if the goalie makes a save, if there is a rebound, or the ball hits the post with less than 59 seconds on the clock, and the offense keeps possession the clock resets to 60 seconds. If it happens over 59 seconds no reset is necessary.
Why is this a great rule change? Picture this. You have played a solid set of defense and held the attack for almost 90 seconds. They take a shot with 3 seconds left on the shot clock and it rebounds off the goalie and they get the groundball. The old rulings, the clock goes back to 90 and you’re back on defense. Now, you only have to hold them for 60 more seconds!
Another interesting new rule is that the game will be played in quarters. Traditionally women’s lacrosse has been played in halves. This splits the game up to four 15-minute quarters instead of two 30 min halves. This gives each team two minutes of rest between each quarter and they switch direction each time.
It is standard for a women’s lacrosse game to start with a stick check. You get in line, make sure your sticks are legal, that you have the right goggles, and mouth-guard. This rule is eliminated, no longer! The days of pre-game stick checks are over.
On the draw, it is common for there to be delays, when someone goes early, or the ball doesn’t go high enough. In the past the ref would do a re-draw. The new rule states it will change to alternate possession and the player can self-start.
Self-start is another interesting rule change that happened in the past couple of years. Players used to have to stop on the whistle and couldn’t move. Now, you can move on the whistle and players can self-start after the whistle. Another rule change that made the game faster.
There are a few more rules that were approved by the panel but these were the biggest ones with the biggest affect.
These rule changes are big and game changers (pun intended.) The game of women’s lacrosse is getting faster and more intense. It will be exciting to watch how fall ball and the spring season turns out, and what coaches will capitalize on these new rules.

The program starts every January and is intended for students who want to start from scratch in their A-Level studies and for students whose curriculum in their country of study ends in November or December. At Oxford Sixth Form College, such students do not need to wait until September to start an A-Level program or start over, they can do it in January. The first two trimesters of the program include additional hours in each subject each week, so that by the end of June, students who started in January will complete the same material as their classmates who started one trimester earlier, allowing them to complete their last academic year from three semesters at a standard pace of study.
From the moment students arrive for their introductory interviews, they will be provided with expert guidance and advice on the combination of subjects best suited to their academic background, university and career aspirations.
In 2018-2019, the A-Level reform was carried out, so the program began to contain about 20% more material, and like many independent schools and Sixth Form colleges, the A-Level program at Oxford Sixth Form College is built on a thorough study three subjects in small classes of no more than six students.
The A-Level program is complemented by a skills training program and a range of additional extracurricular programs. If necessary, students will study IELTS (Academic) along with the A-Level subject program.
The five-term course is intended for:

A-Level is taught in a clear and direct manner, with a test of understanding through careful study and continuous practice based on previous exam questions to develop answering skills. What students get from the course – the main advantage is that the student does not need to postpone studies for nine months (until September).

BTEC Plus
developed by BTEC College Plus is a program developed by BTEC College Plus which combines the study of the BTEC Level 3 Business Diploma with the A-Level subject for one academic year.
Students must, ideally, provide grades in 5 GCSE subjects of at least C, including mathematics and English or international qualifications equivalent to GCSE, for admission to the student program. Foreign students are required to confirm the level of English at least IELTS (Academic) 5.0 in general and at least 5.0 in writing. Students should be motivated to work hard and meet deadlines as BTEC Plus is a high-intensity course.
Composition of the course – the course consists of the study of twelve sections of the BTEC Level 3 Business Diploma and A-Level.The course is designed to help students enroll in various programs at the university. Rev. Daniel Steele, former president of Genesee College, became the first chancellor of the university [7] . The university opened in September 1871 in rented premises in the city center [10] . A huge help came from George Comstock, a member of the Board of Trustees, for a 200,000 m² university land on a hill southeast of downtown [11] .
The university organized co-education for men and women, as well as joint extra-curricular activities, at the opening ceremony, President Peck stated [12] :

John Dustin Archbold
In the late 1880s, construction of new buildings began on the south side of the campus. Holden Observatory was built in 1887, Rank Library, now an administration building, and Kraus College in 1889. [11]
From its founding until the 1920s, the university grew rapidly.Programs in the physical sciences and modern languages were offered, and in 1873 the university was among the first in the United States to begin training in the architecture program [13] . The main campus of the university, it is here that almost all academic buildings and hostels for students are located.Occupies most of the University Hill – area of the city of Syracuse. The one-year A-Level program is designed for four different categories of students:
Students taking A-Levels are taught in separate grades from students in the other categories listed above.
Students wishing to take this program will need to demonstrate that they have the academic skills and prior knowledge related to their chosen one-year A-Level programs in order for them to successfully complete this highly challenging course. Proof of successful completion of the GCSE or its equivalent in the country of residence in the relevant subjects is an important prerequisite for admission to the course, and international students must have an IELTS (Academic) score of at least 6.5.
Course structure – The course starts every September and the exams take place in June of the following year. The One Year A-Level Course is an intensive course that covers material for a two-year course in one year. This requires strict adherence to the exact specification of the item. BTEC Business Level 3 Diploma
BTEC Level 3 Diploma is the professional equivalent of two A-levels taught for one or two years and providing the same UCAS score as an A-level.It provides a practical and theoretical introduction to business that is suitable for those interested in a career in business and wanting a more hands-on course than the A-level.
For admission to the program, you must provide 5 C or higher GCSE grades, including mathematics and English or an international qualification equivalent to GCSE or higher. However, it is possible to retake the mathematics or English GCSE exam if this has not been done. Most importantly, the student must be motivated to work hard and meet all deadlines as this is a very intensive course.
This program starts in September and runs for one academic year.
Program Composition – Students learn to research, give presentations, write articles and projects, work in teams, develop their communication skills and study a wide range of business topics. There is feedback at the end of each section, allowing students to get a clear idea of how they are progressing.
The qualification structure allows for a wide range of choices and flexibility. All students study core sections that introduce the basics of business organization, as well as other modules from more specialized areas.

BTEC Business Level 3 Extended Diploma is the professional equivalent of three A-Levels.It is available to beginner students in September and is taught for two academic years. Alternatively, students can start in January and complete this program within five academic terms.
For admission to the program, ideally, you must provide 5 C or higher GCSE grades, including mathematics and English or an international qualification equivalent to GCSE or higher. International students will require a minimum of IELTS (Academic) 5.0 overall and a minimum of 5.0 by letter. Most importantly, the student must be motivated to work hard and meet all deadlines as this is an intensive course.

BTEC Business Level 3 Extended Certificate (replaces the additional diploma) is the professional equivalent of one A-Level, taught for sixteen weeks (6 months).It can be studied in conjunction with A-Levels or as a stand-alone course. Training starts in January.
For admission to the program, you must ideally provide grades of at least C or higher in 5 GCSE subjects (or equivalent), including mathematics and English. It is possible to retake the exam in mathematics or English GCSE. Most importantly, the student must be motivated to work hard and meet all deadlines as this is a very intensive course, equivalent to 1 A-Level in six months.
