The title of the competition is included in the title of this dystopia, which Stephen King wrote in 1967 and published in 1979 under the pseudonym Richard Bachman.The long walk is actually a death march performed by 14-17-year-old boys in the imaginary American future. In Japan, “Battle Royale” is not only a novel, but a whole genre that includes books, films, comics, and computer games.Published in 1999, Battle Royale became an instant bestseller, with over a million copies sold before being translated into dozens of foreign languages. “Everything for the sake of the game”, Nora Sakavich
In this mega-popular trilogy, which will be released in parts in Russian since 2020, the heroes live from game to game, from training to competition, existing in the algorithm of a typical professional athlete.The protagonist of these books is a game, and by no means a guy named Neil, who miraculously got to the Foxes, a university team of rogue athletes. All for the sake of exi – a brutal team game with a ball and sticks, invented by Nora Sakavich, a brutal mix of football and hockey. The trilogy “Everything for the sake of the game” can be read as an entertainingly arranged story about the complexity of the team spirit – try to combine private interests with general interests, the needs of the soul with the capabilities of the body. Willingly or not, Sakavich leads one to the idea that the main life principle, which became the name of the trilogy, is a euphemism for another, much more valuable covenant: everything for the sake of love.
