The Impact of Sleepaway Lacrosse Camps on Player Development
Sleepaway lacrosse camps offer a unique and immersive experience that can significantly accelerate a player’s development. But how exactly do these camps contribute to a young athlete’s growth in the sport?
Intensive Skill Development
One of the primary benefits of sleepaway camps is the sheer amount of time dedicated to lacrosse. With multiple daily sessions, players have the opportunity to:
- Refine fundamental skills through repetition
- Learn and practice advanced techniques
- Receive immediate feedback from experienced coaches
This concentrated focus on skill development can lead to significant improvements in a short period, often equivalent to weeks or months of regular practice.
Tactical Understanding and Game IQ
Beyond individual skills, sleepaway camps provide a platform for players to enhance their understanding of the game’s tactical aspects. Through classroom sessions, video analysis, and on-field implementation, campers can develop:
- A deeper understanding of offensive and defensive strategies
- Improved decision-making skills in game situations
- Better spatial awareness and field vision
Mental Toughness and Independence
The overnight aspect of these camps contributes to personal growth beyond the lacrosse field. Players learn to:
- Adapt to new environments and routines
- Develop resilience in facing challenges away from home
- Build self-reliance and time management skills
These experiences can translate into improved mental toughness during games and greater independence in their lacrosse journey.
Choosing the Right Sleepaway Lacrosse Camp: Factors to Consider
With numerous options available, selecting the ideal sleepaway lacrosse camp for your child can be a daunting task. What key factors should parents and players consider when making this important decision?
Coaching Quality and Expertise
The caliber of instruction is paramount in ensuring a valuable camp experience. Look for camps that feature:
- Coaches with proven track records at high school, college, or professional levels
- A diverse coaching staff with expertise in various positions and playing styles
- Low player-to-coach ratios for more individualized attention
Camp Curriculum and Focus
Different camps may emphasize various aspects of the game. Consider your child’s goals and choose a camp that aligns with their development needs:
- All-around skill development for younger or newer players
- Position-specific training for more experienced athletes
- Camps that balance skill work with scrimmages and game situations
Facilities and Equipment
The quality of facilities can significantly impact the camp experience. Evaluate:
- Field conditions and available training equipment
- Accommodation quality and amenities
- Access to medical facilities and staff
Camp Culture and Values
The overall atmosphere of the camp should align with your family’s values and your child’s personality. Consider:
- The camp’s philosophy on competition vs. skill development
- Emphasis on sportsmanship and character building
- Opportunities for social interaction and team building
The Role of Technology in Modern Lacrosse Camps
As technology continues to advance, its integration into lacrosse training has become increasingly prevalent. How are sleepaway lacrosse camps leveraging technology to enhance the learning experience for young players?
Video Analysis and Feedback
Many top-tier camps now incorporate video analysis into their training regimen. This technology allows:
- Coaches to provide detailed, visual feedback on player technique
- Players to review their performance and identify areas for improvement
- Comparison of player movements with those of elite athletes
Performance Tracking and Metrics
Advanced camps may utilize wearable technology and specialized equipment to track player performance metrics such as:
- Shot speed and accuracy
- Running speed and distance covered
- Reaction times and agility measurements
This data can provide valuable insights for personalized training plans and goal setting.
Virtual Reality (VR) Training
Some cutting-edge camps are beginning to explore the use of VR technology to supplement on-field training. VR can offer:
- Simulated game scenarios for decision-making practice
- Repetitive skill drills without physical fatigue
- Exposure to different playing styles and strategies
Nutrition and Conditioning at Sleepaway Lacrosse Camps
A comprehensive approach to player development extends beyond on-field skills. How do sleepaway lacrosse camps address the crucial aspects of nutrition and physical conditioning?
Balanced Meal Plans
Quality camps recognize the importance of proper nutrition in supporting athletic performance. They typically offer:
- Balanced meals designed to fuel intense training sessions
- Options to accommodate various dietary requirements and allergies
- Education on proper hydration and pre/post-workout nutrition
Strength and Conditioning Programs
Many camps integrate targeted strength and conditioning sessions to complement on-field training. These may include:
- Bodyweight exercises tailored for lacrosse-specific movements
- Agility drills to improve footwork and change of direction
- Core strengthening routines to enhance stability and shooting power
Recovery and Injury Prevention
With the intensive nature of sleepaway camps, proper recovery is essential. Camps often provide:
- Structured cool-down and stretching sessions
- Access to ice baths or other recovery tools
- Education on sleep hygiene and its impact on performance
By addressing these off-field aspects, camps help players develop holistic habits that can benefit their lacrosse careers long after the camp concludes.
Bear Valley Overnight Camp for Boys and Girls
Our Bear Valley Camp Overnight Lacrosse Camp has become the most popular Overnight Camp in Northern California. Our 2019 Camp was a sellout. The pandemic shut down all overnight camps in 2020. The 2021 camp will SELL OUT as well – so grab a spot while you still can.
Some of the best Bay Area High School and College Coaches, AND players from some of the top College programs in the country will join our Bear Valley Counselor staff in 2021.
The Bear Valley Camp is for boys AND girls, ages 8-18. Over 4 days, we’ll have seven intense practice and scrimmage sessions – working on offensive and defensive strategies, stick handling, gameplay, team building, and core agility. Players will also have a chance to pick special instruction sessions where they can improve their skills in things like Faceoffs, Shooting, Dodging, Goaltending, Defensive Footwork, etc.
We will also take advantage of the incredible surroundings and outdoors opportunities in Bear Valley – swimming and tubing at the lake, mountain climbing with Mountain Adventure Seminars, and and of course, S’mores around the Campfire and a Moonlight Lacrosse game under the stars in the Sierras.
We have the Bear Valley Lodge and several Private Houses adjacent to the Lodge entirely dedicated to our use as a Camp. Campers will sleep and eat at the Lodge – an incredibly awesome place for a summer camp. For those interested, you can spend one or three nights in the new Glamping tents on the Bear Valley Ski Ridge ledge – with AMAZING views of the Sierras and the setting sun.
Our main goal is to develop enthusiastic and dedicated young lacrosse players who respect and honor the game with their commitment and sportsmanship. And we’ll have a blast in the process.
Team NorCal has been taking players as young as 8 on trips across the country for national lacrosse tournaments – so we are very good at managing kids staying away from home.
Our coaching lineup is first rate – we have several of the best lacrosse players to have played in the Bay Area over the last few years who are now starring for nationally ranked college lacrosse programs, as well as most of our Team NorCal Youth and HS coaches.

At the end of the week, our campers leave with a higher lacrosse IQ, an enhanced skill set, new role models, new friends, and a true love of the game!
PLEASE NOTE: We are limiting our enrollment numbers in 2021 due to the ongoing state and local covid regulation changes. As a result, we expect a high demand for all of our camper spots at each of our camp locations. If and when we reach our camper limit, a waiting list will be created.

90,000 The child does not sleep in the camp
A trip to the camp is a new experience, a step towards independence, but also a challenge. Some children easily accept a change of environment, a new environment and a lack of familiar things. Other children find it more difficult to adjust, so in the early days they may start complaining about food, boring programs, poor rooms, or trouble sleeping.
What can you do about it?
All such complaints from a child should be treated with attention and respect.Even if objectively there are no reasons for the complaint, this is a signal that the child is feeling anxious. Support your child and show that you are listening and hearing. But you should not immediately take your son or daughter out of the camp. The human mind is designed in such a way that everything new causes rejection in us, but only the novelty subsequently gives us incredible emotions and interesting memories. The adaptation period per shift lasts on average three days.
If a child complains that he cannot sleep at the camp, ask in detail why.Perhaps he is not used to falling asleep in the same room with other people, or he feels unsafe. Or maybe she and her friends after lights out tell each other scary stories, after which they cannot sleep.
If the cause of insomnia is objective: noisy neighbors, mosquitoes, noise from the street, uncomfortable bed, stuffiness, etc., then contact the counselors and ask them to solve this problem. Camp organizers are obliged to provide normal conditions for sleep and rest for their wards.
If the reason is subjective (“I can’t sleep”, “I somehow can’t sleep”, “I don’t want to sleep”), then it will be more difficult to find a solution.Perhaps the child was not ready for the trip to the camp. He wants to return home to his parents, so staying on shift is stressful. Due to stress, he cannot sleep. To avoid this, it is necessary to psychologically prepare the child for the camp.
Tell us in advance what the camp is, how it works, how the schedule and program are organized. Ideally, the camp should be chosen with the child, view photos, videos, discuss what exactly the child wants to get from the shift: more sports activities, stage performances, creative circles or new friends. If a child loves a book or cartoon, then it is a great option to send him to a thematic shift based on this work. Curiosity and the opportunity to realize a hobby will help overcome the discomfort of everything new.
What else can help?
If, despite all the preparation, the child still does not sleep, check with him what he does during the day: how much he moves, runs and jumps. Perhaps because of a bad mood, the child sits on the bench all day, almost does not expend energy. In this case, you can advise him to be active, go to the sports section, so that physical fatigue will help him fall asleep better.
Ask your child what kind of relationship he has with his roommates. Perhaps he did not manage to make friends with them, so it is also difficult for him to fall asleep with them. In such situations, asking to transfer the child to another room or to find him a separate room, if the camp allows it, helps.
Also sometimes the best advice in this situation is to just wait and give the child time to get used to it.It is likely that during this period, the accumulated fatigue will take its toll, and the level of anxiety will decrease. The child will gradually get used to the room, the bed, and the bedding and will be able to relax. By the end of the shift, he will already sleep better than at home, because the fresh air and nature will take their toll, and he will not even remember the complaints of the first days.

Recreation camp – HiSoUR Cultural history
A holiday camp is an organized holiday away from home, usually for children and adolescents. Many of them take place during the summer holidays and are called summer camps.
Understand that
holiday camps are often found in areas that are also tourist destinations: woodland or mountainous areas are popular holiday destinations. This means that you may have to travel a long distance to reach it.
Camps can be non-commercial or commercial. In some countries, the government provides subsidies for disadvantaged children.

Scout Camps
Global World Scout Jamborees are organized every four years, with about ten thousand international participants and about the same from the region in which they are located.International participants are usually invited to national camps as well, and sometimes to secondary camps. At least in the larger camps, home hospitality is organized as part of the event: international participants spend some time, usually up to a week, as guests of the host family (a member of which would usually take part in the camp). Sightseeing tours are also usually arranged.
The usual way to participate in a large overseas camp is as part of a national contingent with adult leaders and young scouts who may not necessarily know each other before.Participation in small camps is often done by small, independent groups such as part of a squad or even a patrol or the like, perhaps with some adult leaders.
There are other types of international meetings in the scout movement. Rover hikes are organized for young people from many countries; international meetings in the form of “Live Jamboree” (on amateur radio) and currently “Jamboree” on the Internet are held annually; Jamboree on the Trail are hikes organized simultaneously in many places.
There are also international scout centers and hostels where foreign guests are welcome all year or part of the year:
Summer Camp
Summer or Sleep Camp is a supervised program for children or adolescents held during the summer months in some countries. Children and teenagers who attend summer camp are known as tourists. Summer school is generally a compulsory curriculum in order for a student to complete work not completed during the school year, while summer camps may include academic work but are not required to complete it.
The traditional view of a summer camp as a wooded area with hiking, canoeing and bonfires is changing with the growing acceptance of new types of summer camps that offer a wide range of specialized activities. For example, there are camps for performing arts, music, magic, computer programming, language learning, math, special needs children, and weight loss. In 2006, the American Camp Association reported that 75 percent of camps have added new programs. This largely counteracts the trend of declining summer camp enrollment, which some have argued has been driven by smaller family sizes and the rise of complementary education programs. There are also religious summer camps, such as those run by Christian groups and various denominations of Judaism.
The main goal of many camps is educational, sports or cultural development. The summer camp environment can allow children to learn new skills in a safe and caring environment.A summer camp experience can have a lasting psychological impact on a child’s development.
Girls’ camps in the United States began to appear around the turn of the 20th century, and many of the early camps were located in New England. Examples of early girls’ camps are Kehonka Camp in New Hampshire and Wyonegik Camp in Maine. Wyonegonic began in 1902 and is known as the oldest and most continuous girls’ camp in America. In 1900, there were fewer than 100 camps in the United States, and by 1918 there were more than 1,000.Early Girls’ Camps were located in remote, natural areas, and many of the camps had a water playground. The girls participated in outdoor activities that could include canoeing, archery, and hiking. Other forms of popular instruction included crafts, drama, camp-building, and bonfires. The sleeping places in the camps were in the form of wigwams, tents, or open hostels.
The imitation of Native American traditions in the form of board fires and storytelling created a sense of community and inspired the tourist to become a bona fide member of the group.]] Typically, the tourist girls wore their hair and dressed in their native style. Uniforms were standard in most camps, but braided hair and headbands were a common tourist. For ceremonies in camps and theatrical performances, girls dressed in special dresses inspired by their native peoples, sometimes even contributing to the work of hand. During this era, camps were considered a natural way for young girls to develop healthy bodies, self-confidence and a sense of community.
Today’s women’s camps offer many specialized opportunities including STEM Camps, Sailing and Dramatic Arts.
In most camps, young adult or teenage leaders are called counselors or “cabin leaders”. In many camps, counselors are assigned to small groups of campers called “bunks,” “huts,” “cabins,” or “units,” who participate in group activities such as bonfires, hiking, canoeing, swimming, nature knowledge, decorative applied arts. Consultants often share living quarters with their group.
In the United States, residential camp counselors are typically recruited from older teens and college adults (in their 20s) due to temporary, seasonal, and low-paying aspects of the work.International staff are often hired alongside their American counterparts through agencies that screen staff in advance. General oversight of the camp is usually carried out by senior camp directors who lead a team of cooks, sports instructors, a nurse, support staff and counselors. The director and staff have long-term ties with the summer camp. Professional camp staff will organize the preparation of facilities and materials for the camp season and oversee camp maintenance during the off-season.Camp directors employ seasonal counselors, instructors and support staff,
In some camps, all participants stay overnight in cabins and eat all food in the cafeteria. In some camps, also known as day camps, they return home every evening. Some other camps allow you to rest both during the day and at night. In the United States, overnight housing camps are sometimes referred to as “overnight stays.” Summer camp is the first time that children spend a long time outside the home.
The practice of taking children’s vacations away from their own homes appears to have originated in Appenzell in the Alps in 1876, when Pastor Bion organized holiday camps in which children built tree houses, sang songs, dramatized, made kites and adventure games.Post-war France used Pastor Bion’s model to take children who grew up during the war years out of the cities, and their Colonies of Hollows scheme became state-controlled, part of their public education system for all children. American camps developed. from a completely different cultural root.
Educational Camps
There are many educational camp models in the United States that cater to students of all ages and academic interests.
Academic Camps
These are camps where the main declared attraction is class or other academic enrichment that is more interesting and challenging than what the school participants can get. They are often designed for gifted teens (or sometimes children), and some require a high standardized test score to get into it. In the United States, two major academic summer camps for gifted adolescents are CTY from Johns Hopkins University and TIP from Duke University, both of which operate on several US campuses.CTYers and TIPsters go to camps for community life, camp culture and traditions, as well as scholars. These camps can be expensive but need-based scholarships can be provided.
College Loan Courses At 90,095 at some camps, students are given the opportunity to take a pre-college experience. Typically, students entering grades 10-12 stay in college dorms and attend summer classes taught by the college faculty. Upon successful completion of the summer program, credits are awarded for courses, which, in turn, are accepted by most higher education institutions.Typically, colleges in the United States and Canada offer these programs as they serve to familiarize students with the goal of encouraging them to attend college as full-time students through an unforgettable summer experience.
Non-college credit courses
Some camps, such as CTY and Duke TIP, focus primarily on education or educational-related activities such as debate, history, or journalism. These camps are often run by colleges or universities and are usually targeted at children in junior or high school.Debate and speech teaching is also available to high school and high school students across the country. Educational summer camps differ from summer schools in that summer camps are often not offered for loans in schools, and often place a high emphasis on non-academic activities. Students for these programs are often invited or recruited. Many of these camps, such as Canada / USA Mathcamp and SSP, focus on a specific topic such as mathematics or astronomy.
Academic Adventure Camps.
They provide high school students with the opportunity to study academic topics through a summer adventure travel program, typically in the desert or overseas. Many include community service as a component of the course. Others also offer college loans with successful completion of the program.
SAT Preparation Courses
Various camp programs offer SAT Reasoning Test preparation as part of a combination of academic study and summer fun.SAT preparation is often offered as a full morning immersion, while homework and recreational activities are offered in the afternoons and evenings. These camp programs often outsource their SAT components to companies like The Princeton Review or Kaplan, which provide teachers and resources.
Enrichment Courses
These programs offer a wide range of classes that may have little or no school overlap, but are taught with the aim of expanding the student’s concept and interest in many unknown fields of study.Students typically study subjects such as photography, community service, drama, magic, scuba diving, video production, comic book design, crime scene forensics, cooking, yoga, and other similar fields.
Science & Nature
Summer Camps provide a great opportunity for children to learn by doing. Camps provide opportunities that are unlike school ones, often opening up the natural world to children who are never outside. They can use the natural environment and bring children back to nature.More and more child psychologists say that children should spend time alone and on the street.
Canada
Some notable science and nature summer camps in Canada include the Deep River Academy of Sciences, Shad Valley, numerous university sponsored and hosted day camps including the University of Toronto Science and Education Center, Space Camp in Canada and now the defunct Algonquin Space Campus, located at the Algonquin Radio Observatory.Safari Science is another camp located in Oakville, Ontario that offers tourists the adventure of exploring their world.
Technical Camps
Technical Camps are focused on technology education. These summer camps develop 21st century skills in areas such as game design, 3D game creation, web design, graphic design, robot building, and programming languages. These summer camps are usually held on college campuses. Many universities now offer technology-focused summer camps to reach prospective students, generate income, and provide public services.
Language and foreign cultural camps
To meet the growing demand for language education, language camps have been established in the United States. Many of these summer programs take place in high schools. Colleges and universities have also set up camps using their facilities to host younger students. Foreign countries have established summer schools in the United States to offer education regarding their culture and language. The growing popularity of summer language camps can be attributed to the growing interest in languages not usually offered in US school curricula.Arabic, Chinese, and Korean are examples of in-demand languages that are not often featured in the curriculum.
Arts and Performing Arts Camps
Other camps have become summer training grounds for a variety of arts. Many offer electives in a range of creative and performing activities, including visual arts, music, theater, speech, debate, dance, circus, rock and roll, magic, and other specialties. Some of these programs are narrowly focused on one specific area, while others offer a wide variety of programs. Due to the popularity of these events, many traditional camps have also added some visual and performing arts elements to their programs. Some camps offer a very high level of instruction and performance; This is so that tourists with previous experience and skills may have the opportunity to perform solo in front of a symphony orchestra or create an artwork on their own. Most of the Arts and Performing Arts Summer Camps are also geared towards beginners,
Often, camps have different totems or traditions that pass from one group of campers to another, with each group adding something to indicate their time at camp, often as a time capsule. Painted totems, wood carvings, and shows often accumulate as a sacred object that passes from one group to another. Liquor camps popularized the concept of the wind stick.Performing arts camps often have 3-4 weeks of classes that culminate in some kind of performance that parents and families attend.
Tourist Camps
Many camps also bring together children of all ages around the world. Some camps are often referred to as “adventure camps”, often with a very specific theme. Many of these programs focus on skills development and personal growth through the adventures on offer.
Sports Camps
Summer camps can be found that offer intensive training in almost every sports imaginable, or offer quality training and competition in a wide range of sports. The camps are divided into groups of day and night camps. In the United States, night sports camps are divided into two groups. The more traditional ones give boys and girls the opportunity to learn and practice many sports. Sessions usually last 3 to 8 weeks, and some camps have multiple sessions. While many strong athletes attend these camps, the traditional sports camp program also caters to the needs of the less experienced athletes, as all participants compete in teams selected by ability, so all children have the chance to contribute to their team’s success in their daily competition. …Some of these camps have been in operation for over 100 years. These camps tend to focus through team sports on the development of the entire child; not only how they are as an athlete, but how they are, as an individual, teammate, teammate and friend. Many of these camps include a variety of non-sporting programs as well as a variety of experiences.
Many sports camps are of the second type, which focuses almost exclusively on one specific sport. These camps are usually aimed at helping each tourist acquire sports skills that will help them gain confidence and improve their chances of assembling a team upon returning to school. Indeed, some tourists are helped to be nationally competitive through such intensive summer training. These camps usually have weekly classes, and some may take more than one class, even if the curriculum is repeated every week. Some solitary sports camps offer longer sessions. Many of the instructors at these camps are local team coaches, and as such, many athletes get valuable extra time with the coach they play for during the school year (or the coach they hope to play for during the coming school year).
Both multidisciplinary and solo sports camps are usually run by experienced teachers and coaches (who tend to lack school responsibilities in the summer). Salon staff, instructors, and counselors are usually college athletes. The best sports camps help to challenge aspiring athletes both mentally and physically, as well as develop their social and leadership skills. This is possible in part because many of the counselors were present as campers, and thus there is a vibrant “camp culture” that welcomes new campers into the extended camp family and sets the high standards that campers are encouraged to enter. The best sports camps do much more than improve your soccer, tennis, lacrosse, or wrestling skills; they help every child to become a more skillful athlete, a nicer competitor,
Weight Loss Camps Weight Loss or “fat” camps are for overweight children, adolescents and adults to learn about weight loss and not resort to it during summer camp.
Emotional Education Camp.
These camps are a new way to improve the emotional intelligence of children. There are several examples of such camps around the world, such as the emotional Rumbendell camp in Seville, Spain.
LGBT Camps
LGBT Summer Camps are safe places designed for LGBT youth to experience a supportive atmosphere that they may lack at home. They follow a model similar to summer camps, with traditional activities like swimming, canoeing, and swamp running, and weird activities like Digging Graves, where kids can bury their old gender identities and dead names or learn makeup tips from transvestites.Identity camps can improve the psychological well-being of LGBT youth.
Around the World
Africa
Kusafiri (mobile).
Australia
Summer camps are largely non-existent in Australia because the Australian summer break (known as Christmas holidays) lasts only six to eight weeks, and occurs around Christmas and New Years, shorter than in North America. Most children participate in school camps, guide girl camps, or school vacation camps where some religious groups (such as the Salvation Army and Seventh-day Adventists) hold weekly summer camps.Girl Guides and Scouts offer jamborees, which are camps for 1 to 2 weeks. Multi-week camps are next to unheard of.
Many of Australia’s youth music organizations hold annual rehearsal camps during the summer, including the Australian Youth Orchestra National Music Camp and the Gondwana National Choir School. With the exception of Seventh-day Adventist summer camps, most resort camps are referred to as “adventure camps” because they generally do not occur during the summer. Many groups run festival day camps for Early Years and often host weekly adventure camps during their spring, fall, and winter breaks.
Australian Defense Force cadets often and almost exclusively operate their extended camps and courses during school holidays, the vast majority of whom provide food and lodging for cadets throughout camp. However, these camps often only last one or two weeks and thus do not fill most of the summer vacation. This allows cadets (ages 12-18 and therefore most of them to go to school) to attend camps while completing regular schooling.
Canada
Summer camps are very popular in Canada. About 70% of Canadian camps are usually affiliated with organizations, while the rest are private. There are also many summer camps for ESL students. Summer camp fairs are held throughout Canada, usually during the winter months. Parents and children can meet with camp leaders and collect information about summer camps.Entry to these fairs is generally free, and exhibition camps range in cost from fully subsidized fees to quite expensive.
Chile
The Ingleés Abre Puertas (English Open Doors) program of the Ministry of Education is held every January and July at summer and winter camps in English, respectively. The camps are held during student vacations and “are designed to give talented Chilean students the opportunity to practice their English through interactive exercises, including role-playing exercises, field trips, group projects and competitions.”games “.
China
Most of the summer camps are sponsored by the education bureau. However, there are now more private camp programs in existence. Traditional camps are only open to selected students within a specific school district. In recent years, programs have begun that are open to children from different countries and different regions. There are also programs for international students who are interested in learning the Chinese language and culture.
Cyprus
Summer camps for children are widely used in Cyprus. They are usually located in the Troodos Mountains region and more specifically around Platres. Church, government and organized groups provide funds for many children to attend summer camps for free.
Finland
Many Finnish non-governmental organizations organize summer camps for children of all age groups. The main organizers of summer camps are scouts, sports teams and Orthodox and Evangelical Lutheran churches. The concept of summer camps emerged as a result of rapid urbanization and industrialization after World War II.The reason for this was that the Finnish educators of that period, influenced by the values of the agrarian society that existed before World War II, were convinced that the urban way of life was harmful to the development of children. The idea behind the summer camps was to give the children a rural experience that would help them develop a worthy citizen.
One of the Finnish traditions that also emerged shortly after World War II was the confirmation of the camps. Confirmation camps, religious camps for 13-16 year olds organized by local churches, aim to combine the traditional concept of a confirmation school and a newer concept of summer camps to combat the secularization of society. This concept was so successful that today 90% of all young people participate in confirmation camps. The camps require their participants to study certain religious texts, such as the catechism and the Lord’s Prayer. There are a number of non-religious alternatives for confirmation camps, such as Camp Prometheus, which aim to create a positive intellectual and social atmosphere for campers without religious instruction.
France
In France they are called a job colony or, more recently, a job center.According to the French administration, more than 25% of French children attend this “collective holiday” every year.
Greece
Summer camps in Greece are well known for offering organized holidays for children. They offer sporting activities, recreational activities and educational activities. Children from 5 to 15 years old can attend summer camps and have the opportunity to communicate with their peers. The Greek government is providing funds for many children so that they can join the summer camp for free.
India
Summer camps in India are mainly located in the Himalayas in Northern India, in the state of Uttarakhand, in places like Uroli, near Ranikheta, near the Tons River in Purola, near the Ganges in Rishikesh, in Uttarkashi, where many peaks are located such as the summit of Darba, and in the Shimla region in the state of Himachal Pradesh. In South India, summer camps are popular in Korg in Karnataka, and in Yerko and Anaikkati in Tamil Nadu. Summer camp activities in India include rock climbing, rock climbing, mountain biking, rafting, hiking, ropes and desert walks. In many of India’s preschools such as seasonal camps, G MaX, Gurukul (Hunar Summer Camp) Preschool, AppleKids run extensive summer camps for children ages 2-12. Adventure activities for children are also popular at summer camps for age groups from 7 to 18 years old. Wildlife summer camps have become popular over the years. Many of these summer camps are also held in places like Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Pune.
Sangam World Center (Maharashtra).
Ireland
Summer camps in Ireland have traditionally taken the form of Irish colleges in areas that are officially recognized as Irish speakers as a local (called Gaeltachts). These are Residential Irish Summer Courses that give students the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the Irish language, usually for three weeks during the summer months. During these courses, students attend classes and participate in a variety of games, music, arts and sports. These courses not only provide students with the opportunity to improve their language skills, but have also established themselves as a vehicle for introducing a new generation to traditional cultural activities (céilís, Irish traditional music, etc.).
While Irish colleges continue to be popular, there is now a wide variety of summer camps to suit a variety of interests. Sports camps dedicated to Gaelic games as well as rugby and football have proven to be very popular.Arts and crafts, cooking, acting, dancing, and outdoor pursuits are some of the other niche camps available. The popularity of tech camps or computer camps is also growing. They cover areas such as web design, video production, desktop publishing, and more, reflecting a more modern and diverse Ireland.
Israel
Most of the summer camps in Israel are day camps. There are several night camps where campers stay for two weeks, such as Kimama Camp, which was founded in Michmore, in the youth village of Mevoot Yam.The night summer camps are Jewish, so they celebrate Shabbat and other Jewish holidays. Summer camps are international and are designed for Jewish children and teenagers from Israel and around the world.
Today, almost every village and town has summer camps, most of which are run by local authorities or certain organizations. In addition, there are many church camps, including many denominations. For example, all evangelical churches (mainly in Galilee) run a Vacation Bible School (VBS), which includes many activities for children. One of the night camps is called Potter Wheels Camp (PWC), which was originally founded by Baptist missionaries in a Baptist village near Petah Tekwa. This camp continues to serve hundreds of children to this day.
Italy
In Italy summer camps are held during student holidays (usually from June to August).
South Korea
Summer Camps in South Korea English Immersion camps where the emphasis is on learning through structured lessons, and especially with activities to ensure students use the language as much as possible.South Korea is unique in its emphasis on English speaking skills, and teachers for these 2-4 week camps come from all over the English-speaking world. Some of the teachers are on leave from their regular jobs in South Korea. Others come from their own countries or from other countries where they can work and receive special visas for camps only.
Some employ as many Korean staff as English teachers to ensure that cultural and communication gaps are closed.A good camp should provide equipment and well-written texts for students of all levels. To maximize teaching time, there should be no more than 11 students per class. In some camps, students sleep in dormitories, which are monitored by Korean staff throughout the night. Other camps are day camps where most students travel to and from camp. Teachers spend most of their time with their students. They eat together, play sports together and supervise them when special group sessions are held.Similar camps are also offered during the winter break. They are certainly no less popular than the
Summer Camps.
Malaysia
Summer camps in Malaysia are not as popular as in other countries. Children and teenagers have fun together. But now summer camps are gradually gaining attention. The largest summer camps are available for children under 7 years old.
Mexico
Our Boar (Cuernavaca).
Russia
In the USSR, the first summer camps were established shortly after its creation and were called camps for young pioneers during the existence of the Soviet Union.Their number has grown throughout the history of the Soviet Union, and in 1973 there were more than forty thousand, with 9.3 million children visiting them every year during their holidays. After the collapse of the USSR, the number of pioneer camps decreased significantly. However, many of the larger camps still exist. There are 2,726 residential camps in Russia (with 2,000,000 children) and over 40,000 day camps (3,500,000 children) (2006). Most of them were united in 1994 by the Children Plus All-Russian Camp Association.
Sweden
Church of Sweden provides confirmation camps, usually in conjunction with outdoor living. Summer camps are often solo sports camps.
Switzerland
Kandersteg International Scout Center (Kandersteg).
Our chalet (outside Adelboden, in the Bernese Highlands, Switzerland).
Tunisia
Every year during the summer school holidays, the Association of Youth and Science organizes science camps in many regions of Tunisia, where children and adolescents can learn new skills, develop their potential and have fun.
United Kingdom
Summer camps are not a major part of childhood in the United Kingdom as they are in North America. Summer school leave in the UK is shorter – typically 6 weeks for public school students. During this period, children are more likely to go on a long (at least 2 weeks) vacation with the whole family, rather than to a children’s camp (parents from the UK get longer leave from their place of work than parents from the United States, which contributes to long family summer holidays). The industrial body is called the British Activity Holiday Association. Camps in the UK also tend to be less specialized than in the United States, and most offer a fairly broad, multidisciplinary adventure program along with some fun social elements. This is in part because summer camps in the UK have grown as an offshoot of the outdoor adventure industry and have therefore been influenced by their outdoor adventure program. In the UK, several organizations have sprung up over the past few decades that have become more established in the traditional model with a very wide range of recreational options as well as theme camps and major event days. Certain religious groups, such as the Christadelphians, are also widely reported and attend camps throughout the country. A number of youth organizations, such as the Scout Association, the Army Cadet Force, and the Air Training Corps, often run more specialized summer camps for their members, although these are usually not open to non-members.
From the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s, the School Party Council organized summer camps called Colonies. The colonies were not based on street activities or the “adventure” model, but were multi-day celebrations for a very wide range of children. This organization was based on the French model and was unique in the UK in that young volunteers working directly with children (known as “observers”) were trained for their work through training courses developed and delivered by the organization. After the Colony Holidays ended in the 1980s, Chris Green, one of their former employees, created ATE Superweeks to provide similar holidays. He is also campaigning for the summer camps to gain wider support and help change the lives of children.

United States
The American Camp Association (ACA) reports that there are about 7,000 overnight camps and about 5,000 day camps in the United States, for a total of over 12,000 camps.More than 11 million children and adults visit these camps every year. Of the 12,000 camps, about 9,500 are operated by non-profit groups and 2,500 by commercial operators employing more than 1,500,000 adults. Sports camps abound, offering individual and group lessons in a variety of sports and activities, often in preparation for student sports and scholarships.
In the United States, youth organizations such as Boy Scouts, Scouts, 4-H, JCC, YMCA, Camp Fire, and several religious groups are known to have many camps and associate them with their local organizations.Since 2008, the United States has been home to the world’s first transgender children’s sleep camp. It is called Camp Aranu’tiq and caters to campers aged 8-18. He received the Eleanor P. Eells Award from the American Camp Association in 2012.

photo, video review, statistics, Svechnikov tried to score a lacrosse goal
Oh, this eternal “what if?”What if the Boston-Carolina match took place on time and not the next day? Who would benefit from this? Because of the crazy six-hour game between Tampa and Columbus, the next in line waited, waited, and eventually went to sleep, recuperating their unused energy. The situation is at least atypical. And exactly left its mark. When you are a professional athlete, there are no trifles. Warm-up, nutrition, sleep, mental attitude – everything can become the very little thing that will swing the series in one direction or another.
At first the impression was that the forced downtime was easier for “Carolina”. On the one hand, Boston is a much more sophisticated team in terms of cup competition. “Bears” such problems, in theory, should not even notice. But, apparently, the X factor of such an unusual current playoffs affected. It seems that both “Boston” and “Carolina” received playing practice, but if the former “drove a car” in the so-called round robin, then the latter seriously fought against the Rangers in the qualifying round. That is why the “hurricanes” entered the game faster. Because we have already felt how friendly matches differ from official ones.
It’s funny that the advantage of “Carolina” was not particularly embodied in statistics. For a long time, the throw count was 1-6 not in favor of the “bunch of idiots.” At the same time, not to say that the goal by Joel Elmundson was some kind of surprise. Before the Hurricanes defender opened the scoring, three of his teammates touched the puck. Warren Fegele, who started the scoring attack, did not even make it to the assistants. The goal turned out to be maximally combinational. Actually, such were the previous attacks of “Carolina”. The difference is that they did not reach the main thing – the throw.
Even before the start of the series, it was obvious that Boston – Carolina is in many ways a confrontation between the leaders, the first links. Svechnikov – Aho – Teryavainen destroyed the Rangers and became the absolute top three in the qualifying round. But as soon as they met with Marchand – Bergeron – Pastrnyak, everything fell into place. This trio, proven over the years and the goblet house, showed “xy from xy” even before the first break.Bergeron won the throw-in, Marchand immediately found Pastrnyak with a pass, and the Czech turned out to be deadly cold-blooded. A pair of Hamilton – Slavin was out of work.
Dougie Hamilton, interestingly, played the first leg of this playoff. Injured during a training camp, Carolina’s leading defender was out indefinitely. Worst fears did not materialize and he returned after a series with the Rangers. He is hardly to blame for Pastrnyak’s puck, his team-mate did not manage to close the far post there, and later Hamilton managed to close Boston’s striking trio. Moreover, it managed to screw up in the majority. Pasternak made a mistake on the blue line and allowed McGinn to run away one-on-one with Rusk.
True, the goal in the minority allowed Carolina only to level the score. Shortly before this event, “Boston” distinguished itself. The systematic pressure on Peter Mrazek nevertheless led to a result. The Bruins significantly threw their opponents around throughout the match, and when the Czech goalkeeper of the Hurricanes “swam” a little, failing to fix the puck, he was immediately punished for it.
David Kreichi also managed to break through Mrazek. The compatriot of the Carolina goalkeeper for a long time fed his partners with tricky passes, creating dangerous moments, but in the first minute of the third period he himself showed perseverance. Kreichi went for the finishing move and succeeded! However, the teams were not destined to finish the match in regulation time. Rusk was clearly not in the best shape, having missed the second long-range shot. It is possible that the Finn was not embarrassed by the biggest throwing load.
And then overtime struck.Yes, the same overtime that thwarted the start of this match the day before. “Boston” with “Carolina”, as if in revenge, decided to spoil the blood of another couple. Already “Washington” and “Islanders” had to wait for their turn, shifting from foot to foot. By the time Barry Trotz and his former team were due to take to the ice, their predecessors were starting their second overtime. “Bears” with “hurricanes” gave out a completely different hockey than we saw the day before. More movement, creativity and more or less dangerous moments. In general, both went to the decisive segment of the match with an open visor.Andrei Svechnikov, who tried to score a goal named after himself, got the most of the audacity. What he did twice in the regular season did not make it to the playoffs. But the attempt in itself speaks volumes.
And it had to happen that when everyone was already in the mood for a long and exhausting second overtime, “Boston” ended everything cynically. The favorites of the series got the majority even before the break, but they disposed of it rather mediocre. But coming out of the locker room with a numerical advantage, the “bears” managed to catch the courage.Pastrniak’s magnificent pass to Bergeron, followed by a precise throw, was a continuation of the unrealized majority. If the battle between Tampa and the coach, who once led the Lightning to the championship, was more about patience and overcoming, then even the denouement turned out to be extremely creative.
