2022 Season

Ohio Girls Lacrosse is split into two divisions. The state championship was held at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, the former home field of the Columbus Crew.

In Division 1, Cincinnati Mariemont defeated Chagrin Falls 14-13 in OT. Piper George (5G) and Caroline Soller (4G) led Mariemont in scoring.

In Division 2, New Albany defeated Upper Arlington 13-12 in OT. Maddy Paz (4G) and Abby Cole (4G) led New Albany in scoring.

Natalie Henderson and Carter Davis: 5 facts you need to know

Two teenagers found dead together behind a Georgia grocery store single gunshot wounds 17-year-old high school students Natalie Henderson and Carter Davis were identified to the head.

20-year-old Roswell man Geoffrey Hazelwood was arrested on August 3 and charged with the murders. WXIA said. Hazelwood was described by some of his acquaintances as a restless loner who went to an alternative school; Police say after the crime he used Henderson’s debit card. However, they did not talk much about motives.

The bodies of Carter, a lacrosse student, and Henderson, a member of her school’s color guard, were found behind a Publix store in Roswell around 6:00 am on Monday, August 1st. WSB reported. Friends described the victims as good students with positive personalities who lived in an area where murders are rare.

With a population of over 88,000, Roswell is the eighth largest city in Georgia. Visiting Roswell says.

1. Both victims suffered head injuries from a gunshot wound, reports say.

According to Roswell Patch, the Preliminary Investigation found that both victims “are teenagers from the area and each suffered a head injury,” Roswell police spokesman Zachary Frommer said. The police statement says the same.

Police say the first responding officers thought the teens had been shot, but an autopsy will determine the exact cause of death. AP says police now believe they each died from a single gunshot wound to the head; Police told the AP that they had no reason to suspect they were involved in drugs at this point and that the bodies were discovered by two vehicles.

Davies from Woodstock and Henderson from Roswell says WSB. The police department released a statement while Henderson is a student at Roswell High School and Davis is at River Ridge High School. The administrations of both schools are working to create advisors and resources for students as needed.

Roswell police spokesman Frommer told Roswell Patch that Henderson and Davis were friends.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says: headline that the deaths of the two teenagers behind Roswell Publix are being investigated as murder. Fox 5 also said police are treating the deaths as a double homicide.

Hazelwood was arrested after police executed a search warrant at a Roswell home, WXIA reported.

2. Davis played lacrosse and wrote a moving essay about sports and adversity.

In an essay on a 6ft 180lb lacrosse recruiting website, Davis wrote, I love lacrosse: fast pace, fast moves and teammates and i hope to play college lacrosse. Davis was involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Davis said he likes challenges and wants a school that offers engineering programs. I also played football for the last three years in high school. I started playing football and lacrosse in junior high but made the extremely difficult decision not to play football in my senior year in order to stay healthy in lacrosse. I have always had the ability to deal with adversity, no matter how extreme.

Darren John, Davis’ former coach, now meteorologist and reporter, posted on Facebook: I had the pleasure of coaching this young man for several years. In our team, he was known as “Georgia”. He had an uncommon talent for lacrosse and was going to play in college. He will always be with us when we take to the field.

He said the family moved to Georgia in the summer before his sophomore year because his father was trying to find a medical residency (his mother says she is a teacher on her Facebook page). Here the team I played for has been around for five years and I was given the same role as a player and coach of this team. But no matter the circumstances, by staying positive and working hard, you will get what you want,” Davis wrote.

Christopher Hofmann, a school friend, told Heavy about Davis that Carter was known in RRHS for his personality and lacrosse. I never watched him play, but as far as I know he was a fantastic player and will probably continue to play in college. From what I knew, he was a really happy kid, full of energy and fun all the time. He took the time to make you laugh and he was someone you could always count on to make you laugh. Hoffmann did not know Henderson.

Friends tweeted about Davis that he played lacrosse as hell and “It was nice talking to you in the hallway… you will be bored.” We will get justice! People left touching condolences to the Davis family on Facebook. Among them: I will never understand how such a fine young man from such a loving family could be lost to them today. And one more thing: I loved that Carter was in my 5th grade – he was such a sweet boy!

3. Henderson was in the school’s color guard, loved to sing and was described as a good student.

Henderson, who was her high school’s color guard, was remembered by her school band leader as a fun, smart, talented young woman who was loved by so many.

Other school officials also posted tributes. Joseph Michael wrote on Facebook: “She was a wonderful young woman and one of the most wonderful students I have had the pleasure of teaching while studying at Roswell Colorguard.” My heart breaks for the Roswell and Henderson families. In her obituary, she was described as smart, funny, sassy and strong, free-spirited, with a gorgeous smile that could make your day or your week.

The obituary states that Henderson was the leader of the award-winning Color Guard in the Roswell High School band, Swim Atlanta lifeguard, talented singer, guitarist, and animal lover who devoted countless hours to saving animals.

The obituary says that Natalie had a loving heart and an infectious enthusiasm for life. Unusually for such a young girl, she had the courage to always be herself without apologies. Natalie will always be loved and missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Maddy Black, who was Henderson’s friend in high school, told Heavy that Henderson was a good person: she was a great friend. We were in different classes, but I knew her because we showed the choir and the spring play together. She has always been kind to me.

Henderson posted a video of her singing on social media and wrote, according to WSB-TV, “I can’t live without music.” Try to live life to the fullest.

Friends also took to social media to express their shock at Henderson’s death, remembering her kindness:

Friends described both teenagers as good students.

In his essay, Davis wrote: “I am also an A student; I just got a 3.83 last semester and signed up for two AP courses for the last year: AP Calc and AP Physics. Hofmann told Heavy: He was a great guy, really very smart and had a really bright future.

Zach Papoucis, another high school friend of Davis’s, told Heavy that he heard that Henderson was also a good student. He said that friends believe that they did not meet, but hung out. Although the two went to different high schools, Papoucis said the schools were within 10 miles of each other. Papucis works at Publix, behind which the bodies were found.

Papoucis said that Davis started college football and was one of the best athletes in our school. One woman wrote on Facebook about the death: “Please pray for the families of these children.” She added that Carter played football and said, “It’s so tragic!

4. Friends said Davis was outgoing and strong, and the truck driver found the bodies.

Papoucis said friends are baffled how anyone could have killed Davis and Henderson with a head injury due in part to- for Davis’ powers. Papucis did weightlifting with Davis and he described him as very strong. “I can’t understand how anyone could do this to them,” he said, mentioning that Roswell is a relatively small city where murders are still rare.

Papoucis said Davis was very outgoing. He was someone whose smile would light up a room. He was incredibly hardworking and a friend to everyone. Papoucis didn’t know Henderson, but he knows people who did, and they said the same thing about her, he said. Henderson’s Facebook photos show the carefree teenager.

Constitution Magazine says a delivery driver found the bodies behind a grocery store on Woodstock Road.

5. The police checked video surveillance and interviewed employees of local businesses.

Police were interviewing local officers and watching surveillance video to try and figure out what happened to the teens, according to the magazine’s Constitution.

Roswell Patch said the discovery of the bodies came exactly one week before the Fulton County school system was due to begin the 2016-17 school year on August 8. Fox 5 said it was supposed to be Davis’ first day of school; instead, fellow students prayed at the goal post.
