Philly Lacrosse Showcase: Fighting Clams’ Performance
The Fighting Clams participated in the prestigious Philly Lacrosse Showcase, a premier recruiting event featuring nearly 500 uncommitted sophomores and juniors. The showcase attracted over 150 college scouts from Divisions I, II, and III, providing an excellent opportunity for players to showcase their skills.
In the Class of 2016 Team Invitational, the Fighting Clams demonstrated their competitive spirit:
- Fighting Clams 7 – NXT 2017 3
- Leading Edge 7 – Fighting Clams 5
- Fighting Clams 12 – Champion 7
- CNY Roadhawks 11 – Fighting Clams 9
While the results were mixed, the Fighting Clams proved they could compete against some of the top teams in the nation, further solidifying their reputation as a strong lacrosse program.
2015 Fab-Forty All-Stars: Fighting Clams Representatives
The Philly Lacrosse Showcase also featured the selection of the 2015 Fab-Forty All-Stars, recognizing the top performers at the event. The Fighting Clams had two representatives among this elite group:
- Michael Harris – 2015 Attack, Hyde School
- Tyler Boardo – 2015 Goalie, Tabor Academy
The selection of these players as All-Stars highlights the individual talent within the Fighting Clams program and their ability to stand out in a highly competitive environment.
The Littlenecks: Developing Future Stars
While not explicitly mentioned in the provided information, it’s worth noting that the Top Gun Fighting Clams organization also includes a younger division known as the Littlenecks. This program focuses on developing younger players and preparing them for the competitive level of the Fighting Clams.
The Littlenecks program likely serves as a feeder system for the main Fighting Clams teams, helping to identify and nurture talent from an early age. This comprehensive approach to player development contributes to the Fighting Clams’ sustained success in producing collegiate-level talent.
Impact on New England Lacrosse
The Top Gun Fighting Clams have undoubtedly made a significant impact on the New England lacrosse scene. By consistently producing high-caliber players who go on to compete at the collegiate level, the program has helped elevate the region’s reputation in the lacrosse world.
How has the Fighting Clams’ success affected the overall level of play in New England? The program’s achievements have likely inspired other clubs and high school teams to raise their standards, leading to increased competition and improved player development throughout the region.
Furthermore, the Fighting Clams’ ability to attract college recruiters to their events and showcase their players on a national stage has opened up opportunities for New England lacrosse players as a whole. This increased exposure has likely led to more scholarship offers and collegiate opportunities for players throughout the region, not just those within the Fighting Clams program.
The Role of Club Lacrosse in Player Development
The success of the Top Gun Fighting Clams raises interesting questions about the role of club lacrosse in player development. How does participation in elite travel teams like the Fighting Clams complement a player’s high school lacrosse experience?
Club programs often provide:
- Exposure to high-level competition from across the country
- Access to experienced coaches with connections to college programs
- Opportunities to play in front of college recruiters at showcase events
- Year-round training and skill development
These benefits can significantly enhance a player’s growth and increase their chances of playing at the collegiate level. However, it’s important to consider the balance between club and high school lacrosse, as both play crucial roles in a player’s development.
Recruiting Process and College Commitments
The extensive list of college commitments from the Fighting Clams program provides insight into the complex world of lacrosse recruiting. What factors contribute to a player’s college commitment decision?
Some key considerations may include:
- Academic fit and educational opportunities
- Level of lacrosse program (Division I, II, or III)
- Playing time prospects
- Coaching staff and team culture
- Geographic location
- Financial considerations, including scholarship opportunities
The Fighting Clams’ success in placing players across a wide range of programs suggests that they prioritize finding the right fit for each individual player, rather than simply focusing on the highest-profile commitments.
Future Outlook for the Fighting Clams
Given the Fighting Clams’ track record of success, what can we expect from the program in the coming years? It’s likely that the club will continue to attract top talent from across New England and beyond, maintaining its status as a premier lacrosse development program.
Some potential areas of growth and focus for the Fighting Clams might include:
- Expanding their reach to attract players from a wider geographic area
- Developing specialized training programs for specific positions or skills
- Increasing their presence at national tournaments and showcase events
- Strengthening relationships with college programs to facilitate the recruiting process
- Incorporating cutting-edge training techniques and technologies
As the landscape of youth lacrosse continues to evolve, the Fighting Clams will likely adapt and innovate to maintain their competitive edge and continue producing top-tier collegiate talent.
The Importance of Academic Excellence
While the Fighting Clams’ athletic achievements are impressive, it’s crucial to recognize the importance of academic excellence in the college recruiting process. How does the program balance athletic development with academic preparation?
Many of the schools to which Fighting Clams players have committed are known for their academic rigor, including Ivy League institutions like Brown and Princeton, as well as other highly regarded universities. This suggests that the program places a strong emphasis on academic performance alongside athletic achievement.
Some ways the Fighting Clams might support academic excellence include:
- Emphasizing the importance of grades and test scores in the recruiting process
- Providing resources for academic support and tutoring
- Encouraging players to take challenging courses and maintain a rigorous academic schedule
- Helping players understand NCAA eligibility requirements and the importance of core course completion
By prioritizing both athletic and academic development, the Fighting Clams prepare their players for success both on and off the field at the collegiate level.
Building a Lasting Legacy in New England Lacrosse
As the Top Gun Fighting Clams continue to produce top-tier lacrosse talent and send players to prestigious college programs, they are building a lasting legacy in the world of New England lacrosse. What impact will this have on the future of the sport in the region?
The program’s success may lead to:
- Increased interest in lacrosse among young athletes in New England
- Higher standards of play and coaching across the region
- More college recruiters focusing on New England as a source of lacrosse talent
- The development of new club programs seeking to emulate the Fighting Clams’ success
- A stronger pipeline of New England players to top college programs nationwide
As the Fighting Clams continue to evolve and grow, their influence on the New England lacrosse scene is likely to expand, further cementing their status as a cornerstone of the region’s lacrosse community.

Delicious and nutritious soup
I really love clam soups, so I decided to try this recipe. The soup turned out very tasty, spicy and nutritious. Shellfish give it a special taste and aroma. Light cream made the soup thicker and richer. In general, I am very pleased with the result and will definitely cook this soup again.

Interesting recipe
I decided to try this recipe even though I don’t usually cook shellfish dishes. I was intrigued by the idea of adding bacon and potatoes to soup. It turned out to be a very interesting combination of flavors and textures. However, for me personally, the shellfish flavor was too dominant, and I prefer soups with a more neutral aroma. But in general, the recipe deserves attention and I recommend trying it.

Soup is a godsend for dinner
This is a great recipe for those who love soups and strive for a healthy diet. The soup turned out to be simply divine – tender, fragrant, rich in the taste and smell of shellfish. Adding smoked bacon will give it extra flavor. As soon as I tried this soup, I realized that this is the perfect option for dinner. The recipe is simple but the result is excellent. Highly recommend!

Unusual taste
I cook soups almost every day, so I decided to try a new recipe. The soup turned out really very unusual and rich in taste. Clams give it a special taste and aroma, but for me personally they were a little too bland. An unexpected element was the addition of bacon, which gave the soup an extra flavor and aroma. All in all, this is an intriguing recipe for those who like to experiment in cooking.
Ekaterina April 30, 2023
Soup with original taste
I liked this soup, but it could not completely surprise me. I had tried clam soups before, so the taste was familiar. But the recipe is interesting and original, I did not expect that there would be so many delicate nuances of taste in the soup with clams. The milk and cream give the soup a smooth texture that my kids especially liked. I would love to make this soup again.
Daria April 30, 2023
It was just delicious!
I was looking forward to having the chance to try this soup – and it didn’t disappoint! The soup turned out to be simply divine – rich, fragrant and incredibly tasty. Clams go great with potatoes and bacon, and this combination of cream gives it all a rich and full-bodied taste.
