After the final whistle blew on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, the Middlebury College men’s lacrosse seniors were left with an overwhelming sense of loss.
They had won the contest, but after just three games, their entire season was over.
14 Student-Athletes Elected into Phi Beta Kappa

Fourteen senior student-athletes have been elected into Middlebury College’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. The organization is the country’s oldest honor society for the liberal arts, founded in 1776, with the Middlebury chapter electing up to 10 percent of the senior class each year. One of the traditional symbols most often identified with Phi Betta Kappa is the key, which the society developed in its early days. Middlebury owns one of the oldest keys still in existence – that of the first president, Jeremiah Atwater.

Today’s Senior Saturday is dedicated to the Middlebury Men’s Lacrosse Class of 2020.
The group advanced to the NESCAC Championship game in 2017 and 2019 and were off to a great 3-0 start this spring.

Middlebury Downs Plattsburgh State 30-8

The Middlebury men’s lacrosse team (3-0) cruised past Plattsburgh State 30-8 on Tuesday afternoon at Alumni Stadium. The 30 Panther goals were the most scored since the 1980 team tallied 31 in an ECAC Championship victory over Babson.
Men’s Lacrosse Cruises Past Connecticut College In Home Opener

Middlebury produced a 20-goal outburst in its home opener, defeating Connecticut College (1-1, 0-1) by a score of 20-8 on Youngman Field at Alumni Stadium.
The Panthers (2-0, 2-0) return to action on Tuesday when they host Plattsburgh State at 4:00 p.m., while the Camels entertain Hamilton next Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. faceoff.
Men’s Lacrosse Participates in Lacrosse For Life, Raises $18,000

Members of the Middlebury men’s lacrosse team participated in Lacrosse for Life on Sunday, March 1. The mission of the program is to bring lacrosse teams together to show support for children and families who rely on the lifesaving care and research provided by the #1 pediatric research hospital in the world, Boston Children’s Hospital.
Middlebury Opens With Road Win at Bowdoin

The Middlebury men’s lacrosse team scored the first six goals of the game en route to a season-opening 16-12 victory at Bowdoin (0-1, 0-1) on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers (1-0, 1-0) return to action next Saturday, opening the home portion of their schedule with a 1:00 faceoff against Conn. College.
