Besides sports, the NCAA has another mission that is sometimes considered the most important of all (especially in the lower divisions). The goal is to include everyone in the sports field: both parents and administration, and to involve as many students as possible. In America they always say “race and gender don’t matter”. Therefore, here a girl manager of an American football team or a guy traveling everywhere with gymnasts is not new. An interesting fact about transgender people: a transgender guy cannot play for the men’s team until he has completed a year of testosterone therapy. Also, a transgender girl cannot play for the men’s team until she undergoes a year of treatment to reduce testosterone levels. After moving to another team, the guys, of course, cannot go back. What’s more, students actually go through therapy during their senior year at school in order to play for the opposite sex team. Incredible!

Sports teams are very sensitive to the mascots that roam campuses during big sports events. As a rule, the mascot is born plus or minus at the same time as the university logo and often affects the subsequent change of the team name.

The NCAA is a tax-exempt non-profit organization. All money from ticket sales, merchandise and everything else goes to support universities, athletes and sports conferences that take place throughout America throughout the year. For the past few years, the organization has averaged about $600 million a year, which, logically, is not a huge amount of money, given the number of schools, athletes and the necessary conditions for holding competitions.

If a person does not want to play sports at a professional level, there is such a thing as “club sports”.
