- Reduce games to catch up with the schedule
- Finish games before inclement weather arrives, or to preserve the fields
- Reschedule games, if possible
- Convert tournament to “Festival” format without playoffs or championships to provide most teams an opportunity to play as many games as possible
Every attempt will be made to update the changes and cancellations on the website. However, the weather can change rapidly, and all teams should be prepared to play as soon as the weather clears, and fields are playable. Should a tournament be on hold due to weather, the tournament organizer will send text messages/emails via the tourney machine app. We HIGHLY recommend that all club directors, coaches and parents download this app on their phone so they can have the most up to date information.
If lightning is observed at any location:

- Play will be allowed to resume 30 minutes after the last sight of lightning is observed. If a game is in progress:
- If it is the second half of the game, the game will be considered final and the score at that point will be recorded
- If it is the first half, when play resumes it will be the start of the second half
- Every attempt will be made to begin subsequent games on time.
If the start of the second half of the suspended games delays the onset of the subsequent game the following actions may occur:
- The game suspended will play one 20 minute running time second half
- Subsequent games will begin immediately after proceeding games (teams will warm up on the sideline prior to the game) These games will consist of two 20 minute running halves until games are back on schedule
- Once games are back on schedule they will revert to two 23 minute running time periods (20 minutes if there are playoff games)
We will make every attempt to play event minute of every game but the safety of players and all tournament attendees comes first.
NO REFUNDS will be granted if these actions are necessary after the start of the tournament
Facility owners, not tournament organizers, have final say on whether the tournament will take place due to weather and field conditions
If the tournament is cancelled prior to the start of the event, a partial refund or credit may be issued. Final determination of refund amount will be on an event-by-event basis. All events have fixed expenses related to field rental and facilities, set-up costs, insurance, personnel, and other matters regardless of cancelation due to weather. Accordingly, no teams will receive full refunds of the registration fee if the tournament is canceled.

90,000 Michkov, a Finn and four Canadians: the symbolic YChM-2021 team
The Junior Ice Hockey World Championship is a huge talent fair. In the tournament that just ended this year, there were a lot of them. Determine the symbolic team of the championship – the problem with an asterisk. There are obvious candidates, which you cannot do without, but at the same time there are a lot of those who deserve a place in this brigade, but will not get in simply because of the quantitative limit.
One goalkeeper, two defenders and three forwards – the conditions are extremely tough, but the more valuable is getting into such a company.
And immediately we note that our version will slightly differ from the tournament team from IIHF, chosen by the journalists who worked at the YUCHM. Exactly one third. Moreover, the Russian national team will also suffer. But what we agree with the official version is that the Swedes who won the bronze did not deserve to be on this list. Unlike the Finns who were left without medals. Such is the paradox. So.
Benjamin Gaudreau, goalkeeper, Canadian national team
And immediately the first discrepancy with the official version. The journalists included Sergei Ivanov in the team of the tournament, who was in third place in the United States, but after the unsuccessful last line of the first match against the hosts for the Russian guards, he took advantage of his chance and did not give up his place in the start until the end of the tournament.
Ivanov was really good, no doubt, the IIHF itself recognized the Canadian as the best goalkeeper of the competition. Gaudereau, who will enter the next NHL draft and is considered a very strong prospect to leave in the first round, had a really great tournament.
He won five victories, saved 91.91% of shots on his goal, conceded an average of only 2.2 goals per game (this is in places crazy junior hockey). But the main thing is that Gaudreau were able to break through in equal compositions only six times. Given the strength of the Canadian outfield players, the importance of the goalkeeper is easy to underestimate, but not worth it.
Brandt Clark, D, Team Canada
No doubt about that. Even against the background of his powerful teammates Guillaume Richard, Corson Coulemans and Ollen Zellweger, he stands out.Clark showed a mature play beyond his years and exerted the most influence among defenders on Canada’s play on the offensive, both in equal squads and in the majority.
He scored two goals, made five assists, including one in the final, and finished the Junior World Cup with a +12 utility. He is not the best defender by any of these numbers, but together they make a great set. And yet Clark’s superiority over the others cannot be explained by numbers alone – his game had to be seen.
Aleksi Heimosalmi, defender, Finnish national team
The mobile Finnish defender became the top scorer of the YUCHM in his role, gaining 2 + 6. Its utility rate is not impressive – only +3. However, this is largely due to the 0: 8 in the bronze match from the Swedes.
To play for the medals, Suomi was frankly not enough either psychologically or physically, but this should not determine the assessment of her entire performance. The Finns looked very good, took the group, which included Russia, the USA and the Czech Republic, having snatched the victory from Leshchev’s team at the first stage, although they lost four minutes before the end with a score of 1: 3.Well, in the semifinals, the Finns also drank blood from the Russians.
Heimosalmi was by far the dominant defender in this team and had the most impact on the game. He is perhaps not quite ready for the NHL yet, but it is likely that this impression is deceiving, and he will very soon play in the strongest league in the world.
Matvey Michkov, forward, Russian national team
Everything is simple and clear here. The symbolic team of the tournament cannot do without his top scorer (12 + 4) and the official MVP.Michkov scored 12 goals in seven matches, surpassing the best achievements of Nikita Kucherov and Ilya Kovalchuk, who scored 11 goals each. Only record holders Alexander Ovechkin and Cole Cofield, who put their 14s two years ago, have more.
But the point, again, is not only in numbers, which, of course, reflect the importance and influence of the attacker of the SKA system on the team’s game. Michkov will only be drafted in 2023, but he’s already doing incredible things on the ice.Only in this tournament did he manage to score a lacrosse goal, a throw from under his feet and an exit from the gate. Moreover, he scored the first or most important goals of the national team in all important matches. A real world-class superstar is growing in Russia. Such a diamond has not existed for a very long time.
Connor Bedard, forward, Canadian national team
There was a whole scattering of amazing forwards at this YUCHM, but bypass Bedard, who is the same age as Michkov and will be his main competitor in the draft 2023, and, perhaps, even a favorite, not seems possible.
We are talking about the best sniper and one of the two top scorers (7 + 7) of the Canadian national team, who also scored +12. Bedard tore apart all the rivals of the “Maple Leaves”, acting as the headliner of the striking link in all situations.
Connor scored only one point in the final, but this is the very first Canadians goal to equalize in the first period. And he was scored in an impressive pass with a powerful throw from the backhand straight to the top nine. In Canada, they say exactly the same thing about this center as written in the last paragraph about Michkov, except that players of this magnitude appear among the founders of hockey much more often.
Shane Wright, forward, Canadian national team
Wright did not make it to the symbolic team of the tournament, giving way to Finn Sam Tuomaala. And, for example, our Nikita Chibrikov, Fedor Svechkov and Danila Yurov, or Canadians Mason McTavish and Francesco Pinelli, could well claim a place in it.
And yet, it seems that the journalists cheated Wright not deservedly. He will probably be the No. 1 Draft pick in 2022
The versatile striker with a home position in the center has “only” five goals at this Junior World Cup, but nine assists equalize him on points with Bedard, only Shane had two games less getting damaged in the group stage. He also scored in the final not only with an accurate throw, but also with an assist and, in general, was the main addressee of passes for a throw in the golden meeting.

Humanity exhaled joyfully after 2020 ended. For a long time, people have not had as many hopes for the new year as in January 2021. The global pandemic of coronavirus infection and the economic crisis that followed its arrival have completely changed the world.I would like to believe that only for a while. The coronavirus crisis also affected sports: championships were postponed, major competitions were canceled, clubs and stars lost a lot of money. The losses did not affect only a select few: Roger Federer, who continued to recover after the operation, only increased his fortune, and did not fall out of the top twenty in the rating. Bayern Munich lost only about 3% of the profit, having won all the tournaments in which they took part. But the vast majority of athletes reported that 2020 was one of the hardest years for them in their careers.

90,000 Switzerland – Belarus – 1: 7, Klimovich’s hat-trick, Kuzmin’s lacrosse goal, video, review of the YChM-2021 match
Now Dmitry Kuzmin has repeated the trick at the YChM. The Belarusians defeated the Swiss in their biggest victory in the history of the tournament.
If someone could think that Belarus came to YChM-2021 to serve the number, then this is not so. They have not dropped out of the elite division since 2017, and have consistently reached the quarterfinals in the last two tournaments. This year the task has not changed, and if they cannot compete with Sweden yet – they lost 1: 5 in the opening match, then middle peasants like Switzerland are quite tough for them.
Four goals in the majority, a hat-trick of striker Danila Klimovich by the middle of the match – the Swiss were constantly losing the striker at the far post, he scored two of the goals into an empty corner after cutting passes, another one – with a sniper shot from an acute angle. Unexpectedly, after the second game day, Klimovich took the lead in the tournament’s sniper and bombardment races.

Klimovich became the third Belarusian in history to score a hat-trick at the Junior World Cup – before him, only Andrei Kostitsyn and Vadim Karaga managed to do it. “Remember this name: Danila Klimovich,” the IIHF commented on Twitter. Indeed, before the start of the tournament, few people knew at least something about this striker, and now he is becoming the main discovery of the YChM.
The defense of the Belarusian national team gave an equally impressive response to a hat-trick from the offensive line. Defender Dmitry Kuzmin went to the goal in the majority and did not share the puck with his partners, but scored himself, in the lacrosse style! Kuzmin can give a head start to Andrei Svechnikov, who a year and a half ago put the entire hockey world on its ears, becoming the first author of a lacrosse goal in NHL history, and a month later repeating this trick.
So, for Kuzmin, such washers are also not new. To be precise, this is his third Michigan goal in a year. The defender made his debut in the Belarusian Extraliga this season and scored 16 (6 + 10) points in 52 matches.
The first time Mogilev suffered at his hands was in October 2020, after which Kuzmin admitted that this was his first attempt of this kind in a real game – and immediately successful: “I practice such things in training, but to an empty net. Sometimes it works. But in the game I have never used this trick before – even in children’s hockey.I would not say that there is something super difficult in lacrosse goal for professional hockey players. In my opinion, the main thing is to relax your hands and lift the puck on the hook, and then everything will work out by itself. ”
The second goal of Kuzmin in the Extraliga happened in December against Lokomotiv, and again for Michigan. By the way, Kuzmin took an example not from Svechnikov at all, but from his striker Ilya Spat, with whom he played for the junior team of Belarus in the Higher League. “He pledged it so very often, and he wanted to try it all the time.Spat is a famous master, he taught me, he helped me most of all. Well, all Zhlobin youth also taught when we played together at the institute of national teams in Raubichi. We stayed after training, worked out. It turns out that the training was not in vain, ”said Kuzmin.
No wonder, oh no wonder Kuzmin perfected this feint in training. On the main junior stage – the World Championship – he scored from experience, realizing that the trick must pass. “The Swiss lost the puck on the blue line, I picked it up and went outside the goal.Already when I got there, I realized that I would try to throw it in this style. Thought: why not? Everything turned out as well as possible. Of course, I tried it in training. Threw two such goals in the Belarusian championship. We can say that I can. So I decided to try it here. This is a well-trained moment, I can calmly do it, ”he said after the match with Switzerland.

Belarusians defeated Switzerland with a score of 7: 1 – this is their biggest victory in the history of the tournament. The previous record has been held since 2008, when the Belarusian national team prevailed over Denmark with a score of 6: 2. Dmitry Shulga’s team moved into second place in Group A and strengthened their chances of reaching the quarterfinals. An important match with Latvia is ahead.
2018 World Lacrosse Championship. Netanya, Israel: kot_bayun – LiveJournal

Category: The 13th World Lacrosse Championship was held from 12 to 21 July in Netanya. We were able to visit the grand opening, which took place, like the final match of the tournament, at the city’s municipal stadium. It was like a small Olympics, with songs, dances, drums, solemn performances of teams in national costumes and, surprisingly, a considerable number of spectators in the stands.
I already told about the rules of this strange sport in which men run across the field with nets, when the England national team, the winner of 9 out of 10 European Championships, came to Israel for a series of exhibition matches. At the last European Championship, by the way, England in the final with a slippery score 7: 6 defeated the Israeli team, which for the first time reached such a high level.
So, the 13th World Championship was unexpectedly decided to be held in Israel.
Separately, it should be said that all previous tournaments, starting from 1967, were held every four years exclusively in the countries of the “top four”: Canada, Australia, England, USA, Canada, Australia, England, USA, Australia, Canada, England, USA … And suddenly ours were connected!
46 teams came to the championship! I never thought that this sport was so widely developed. The games were mainly held on the green fields of the Wingate Institute, but the opening, the first Israel-Jamaica match and the final, as I noted above, took place at the Netanya city stadium.
The ticket price, originally announced on the off-site, included attendance at all matches on a game day (and about a dozen games were played every day) and was 179 shekels. But there was also our Jewish joke. First, about a week before the opening, a pop-up window appeared on the official website of the championship, in which it was announced in Hebrew that for the coupon לקרוס 18, the ticket price sharply became only 20 shekels (not so much a discount!).
And starting from the first day of the tournament, it was announced on the champion’s Facebook page that the entrance to the matches taking place in Wingate was absolutely free for the Israeli viewer. It’s okay to fuck foreigners like that. Bravo!
Israel started the first match with Jamaica frankly weak.
After the first quarter the score was 2: 2 (despite the fact that at some point Jamaica even led 2: 1).
But then the blue and white remembered how cool they were in swinging the nets, and began to throw ball after ball to the opponent.
The rival was not spared at all
In the end, Israel won 11: 3.
Jamaica was not helped even by their brutal coach
And then during the tournament Israel won 19: 2 against Russia, 11: 8 against the Philippines and 16: 4 against Ireland, after which it reached the quarterfinals, as it did 4 years ago at the World Championship, in which Israel first took part. And, like 4 years ago, this milestone was not passed again – that time Israel lost to Australia 8: 9, this time in 1/4 there was a loss of the same Australia 6: 9.
Then again there was a continuation of the history already in the tradition – in the tournament for 5-8 places the Israelis lost to Japan at 9:10, after which they won against Puerto Rico 12: 1 and took their favorite 7th place (in 2014 in Colorado they also took 7th place after defeat to England at 9:10 and victory over Japan at 15:10).
Eh, Japan, Japan …
Or is he not Japan?
Fans came to the championship even from New Zealand (although they look like the purest British, only there is not enough beer, which, unfortunately, was not sold at the stadium)
Surprisingly, at the stadium, except for hot dogs for 20 shekels and Coca-Cola for 10, did not sell anything at all. Not opening some of the most seedy merchandise store at the World Cup, especially at its opening – this is real nonsense.
Jamaica defeated Wales in 13-14 places.
Hungarians were content with 28th place
Hawaii?
Ours! Our hundred poods!
And the gold of the championship for the 10th time (out of 13!) Was taken by athletes from the USA, who defeated their eternal rivals from Canada 9: 8 in the final. Moreover, the last goal was scored three (!) Seconds before the end of the match.
The Iroquois team, which became, perhaps, together in Uganda, the most popular among the Israeli public, took the bronze medal of the tournament for the second time in a row.
Russia won 36th place, and Luxembourg became the last, 46th.
But there were tons of Ugandan fans in the stands.Especially black boys fell in love with white girls, moreover, obviously not Israeli women.
Drums, all the cases.
A little about the Iroquois. Why are they here? Because it was they who invented lacrosse in the 15th century, using it to train warriors and peacefully resolve conflicts between tribes. Teams at that time often consisted of several hundred people, and the length of the field for the game was up to several kilometers. Some of the participants often died during the game.
Few people know that the self-name of these Indian tribes, still inhabiting the territories of Oklahoma and Canada, is Houdenosauni, and the Iroquois, which comes from the word Iroku, were chased by neighboring tribes and it means “real vipers”! Today, about 125 thousand of these ancient Indians live in the United States and Canada.
The idea of creating their own team was sanctioned by the Great Council of Howdenosaune in 1983. The International Lacrosse Federation at first opposed the acceptance of a new incomprehensible member into its ranks, but then it gave the green light to an amazing team that brought an original flavor to this sport.
However, not everything is so simple – the team had to miss the 2010 World Cup in England because the United Kingdom did not recognize the Iroquois passports that they use at home. Israel was also not without problems – the athletes who came to the world championship were detained at the Israeli customs for 48 hours, during which their passports of Houdenosauni were processed.
But not only Indians came to shock the audience with their appearance. The Scots put on kilts, small handbags and smile.
Norwegian women dressed in national costumes, and their men came out to the opening ceremony in sweaters. And this is about 35 degrees in the heat! They are strong, Scandinavian Vikings.
People in yellow and with kangaroos were unusually positive and smiled left and right.
The support they had in the stands was also stunning.
In the stands with pleasant faces, it was generally great. This is not Israeli football with its Moroccans and ARs.
Men from Uganda you have already seen on the podium, but if women in Uganda are all like that, then I urgently need to go to this country (it’s not for nothing that I have a Ugandan national team shirt)
A little more positive Uganda
Gloomy New Zealanders
Russians yesterday evening
Well, and a little bit of the rest
In short, the championship turned out to be very beautiful and that such tournaments should be held in Israel more often!
Let more joy, smiles and light be on the faces sitting in the stands of our stadiums!
And lacrosse will be either hockey or some other sport – it’s all the same.Although .. let the Israeli national team at the next world championship nevertheless overcome its fatal line of 7th place and rise to the top three!
