I have the honor of being Danny’s high school wrestling coach. He has a tremendous work ethic and is a tremendous all around athlete. He is extremely passionate about the game of lacrosse and is a positive role model for all student athletes at HHS.
At Hightstown HS Danny was a Varsity starter for the second half of the year. His ability to recognize situations defensively was impressive for a freshmen. He will be a valuable asset to this team as well as college teams in the future. I look forward to watching him develop.
Coaching Dan through his youth and into the HS level, Dan has always been one of the hardest working players on the field. He is dedicated to being the best he can be and takes pride in his efforts on and off the field. He’s an asset to any coach.

Sergachev shines in the Memorial Cup
WINDSOR, Ontario – The 2016-17 season turns out to be memorable for defender Mikhail Sergachev.
He was called up to the Montreal Canadiens twice, won bronze in the World Youth Championship with the Russian national team, and now, after a six-week break, plays for Windsor in the Memorial Cup.
The Spitfires beat Seattle 7-1 on Sunday to win their second consecutive match of the tournament and guarantee themselves at least a semi-final spot. If they beat Airy on Wednesday, they will play for first place on Sunday.
“The season was crazy,” Sergachev said. “We were knocked out of the Ontario Hockey League playoffs, I was called up to the Canadiens, and then I had to wait about 44 days, which was pretty annoying. And now we’re winning again.” …
Russia does not pay much attention to the Memorial Cup, but Sergachev realized its importance in Canada at the beginning of the season.
“When I first came here, I trained with guys from the NHL like Aaron Ekblad (Florida Panthers) and Steve Ott (Canadiens), and they told me that winning the Memorial Cup is a big deal,” Sergachev said.- From that moment on, it was the main goal that I wanted to achieve with “Windsor”.
18-year-old Sergachev was selected by “Montreal” as the ninth pick in the 2016 draft, was included in the opening match of the NHL championship and played three games. He did not score points, and on average spent 10:25 per game on the ice. He was the youngest player in the league and was gaining experience from partners Shea Weber and Andrey Markov.
But he failed to become a full-fledged player in the main team. The Canadiens decided that in order to develop Sergachev needed constant playing practice, which he could get in the OHL, and on October 31st they sent him to Windsor.
Playing against his peers, he acted great and scored 43 (10 + 33) points in 50 matches. He also scored one goal for the Russian national team at the MFM.
Windsor were preparing to host the Memorial Cup, but during the regular season the squad had rapport problems, culminating in a knockout out of the first round of the playoffs following a 3-4 defeat to London. That episode ended on April 4.
As the owner, the team had an automatic pass to the Memorial Cup.So Windsor had plenty of time to practice until May 19, awaiting champions in the OHL, Western Hockey League and Quebec Junior Hockey League.
However, less than 24 hours after the failure in the OHL, Sergachev was called to the Canadiens, who guaranteed themselves a victory in the Atlantic Division and in the final game of the regular season against the Detroit Red Wings (April 8) wanted to give the veterans a rest. He played 17:13 on the ice and Montreal won 3-2 in overtime.
“This challenge was very important to me because I was rooting for them all season, and I also knew that the game was important,” Sergachev said. “At Windsor, we heard a lot about the last season of Joe Louis Arena, and I had a chance to play there in one of the last matches. ”
Canadiens coach Claude Julien said he liked Sergachev.
“He shows a lot of potential,” Julien said after that meeting. “Just a week ago he played in juniors, and now he looked great at a different level.”
Sergachev uses all his experience to help Windsor in the Memorial Cup. In the first game of the tournament against the champion of QMJHL” St. John “(3: 2), he made two assists, and then against the champion of the ZHL” Seattle “played plus-1 and helped to neutralize the 75-second segment when the opponent played five against three.
