RF has recognized the conclusions of the IOC on doping manipulations | News from Germany about Russia | DW
In a letter to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), Russia for the first time declared responsibility for systematic doping violations.”The serious crisis that hit the Russian sport is due to unacceptable manipulations with the anti-doping system, which were disclosed by the leadership of WADA and the International Olympic Committee,” – said in a letter, which on Friday, May 25, was quoted by the French sports newspaper L’Equipe.
“On behalf of the organizations we represent, we sincerely regret the manipulations and practices that have taken place in Russia,” the letter also says, signed by the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Pavel Kolobkov, the head of the National Olympic Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Zhukov, and the President of the Paralympic Committee of Russia Vladimir Lukin.“We would like to assure you that all affected organizations have taken the necessary steps to comply with anti-doping rules. Important reforms are ongoing and we are confident that they will make the anti-doping fight more effective in our country,” the letter said.
It also highlights that Russia has learned from the doping scandal that unfolded in 2016 following a report by WADA independent expert Richard McLaren. Meanwhile, Russian Minister of Sports Pavel Kolobkov claims that the letter sent to WADA does not recognize the findings of the McLaren report, but the IOC’s decision on doping manipulations of December 5, 2017, which was based on the report of Samuel Schmidt.”We do not agree with McLaren’s report, because it contains unsubstantiated conclusions. These conclusions can only be proved in court, after a thorough investigation, irrefutable evidence must be presented,” TASS quoted Kolobkov as saying.
Russia’s recognition of responsibility for doping violations is one of the important conditions of the World Anti-Doping Agency, which in November 2015 temporarily excluded the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) from its ranks. The full return of the Russian Federation to world sports depends on the resumption of RUSADA’s work.

Winter doping: was the victory in Sochi “dirty”?
“Dirty” victory in Sochi?
15 Russian athletes who won medals at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi were doped during the competition. Grigory Rodchenkov, the former head of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory, spoke about this in an interview with The New York Times. According to him, a state doping program was developed in the Russian Federation, approved at the highest level, to win the overall medal standings of the Games.

The mechanism of deception
In total, dozens of Russian athletes were included in the “doping program”. According to Rodchenkov, they were taking a “cocktail” of three anabolic steroids mixed with alcohol. Men – with Chivas whiskey, women – with Martini Vermouth. So doping was absorbed into the blood faster, and the detection window was reduced. “Dirty” doping tests were secretly substituted for “clean” ones with the participation of Russian special services officers.

The names of the “heroes”: skier, …
So far, The New York Times has named the names of only three “heroes” of the new doping scandal according to Rodchenkov. Among them, for example, skier Alexander Legkov, who won gold in the 50 km race in Sochi.

… skeletonist,….
Another winner of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, skeleton athlete Alexander Tretyakov, also, according to Rodchenkov, was among those who took doping during the competition.

… and two veteran bobsledders
The NYT article refers to “two veteran bobsledders who won two golds.” The name of one of them, Alexander Zubkov, is mentioned directly. It is not difficult to establish the name of the second. Probably, this is Alexey Voevoda, Zubkov’s partner in bobsleigh “two” and “four”. Together they won the Games in Sochi in both disciplines (two more teammates helped them in the “fours” competition).

Hockey players – no medals, but doping?
Not all athletes from the “doping program” were able to bring Russia medals at the Games in Sochi. Thus, the Russian women’s ice hockey team, which allegedly also hosted Rodchenkov’s “cocktail”, took only sixth place.

Skiers again
Games winner Alexander Legkov was not the only Russian skier to be doped during the 2014 competition in Sochi.Rodchenkov claims that 14 members of the Russian ski team resorted to using illegal drugs. However, so far the names of the rest of the “dirty” skiers have not been made public.

Another doping scandal
The new doping scandal is not the first one in recent months with the participation of Russia. At the end of 2015, a special commission of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) exposed numerous cases of doping by Russian athletes and the concealment of these facts by the anti-doping services of the Russian Federation.Because of this, the participation of Russian athletes at the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro is still in question.

90,000 the second doping test of the Russian curler showed meldonium

Doping test, Alexander Brushlnaya took the Russian curlingist on February 19 result for meldonium. This is reported by the publication Inside the Games.
Sergey Kovalev / Global Look Press
Earlier, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) announced the registration of the case against Alexander Krushelnitsky. This happened after the official notification of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) that meldonium was found in the doping test “A” of the curler. This drug has been banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) since January 1, 2016.
The Sport-Express newspaper today notes that there are very few cases in which the B test would not confirm the A test results in world sports.Especially when it comes to such an easily detectable drug as meldonium. A false positive test is a verdict for a laboratory, especially an Olympic one. In this regard, a number of foreign and Russian media noted that the CAS statement regarding the opening of a “doping” case is actually a confirmation of the fact that Krushelnitsky was taking a prohibited drug. If his doping test “B” was not confirmed, it would have led to a huge scandal up to the temporary closure of the accredited laboratory in Seoul.
One way or another, the CAS has not yet received an official statement on the second doping test. The CAS noted that they would not give additional comments until the completion of the proceedings.
Date of hearing, as well as other information are not announced.
On February 13, Krushelnitsky, together with his wife Anastasia Bryzgalova, won bronze in a double mixed. Athletes became the first Olympic medalists in the history of Russian curling. At the same time, the couple planned to stay in the capital of the Olympics until the end.Currently, Alexander has left the Olympic village. Earlier to the media, he voiced a version according to which the drug could be added to his drink during the January training camp in Japan.
The CAS is now the first instance at the Olympics to decide whether the athlete should return the medal and be disqualified. The decision on Krushelnitsky will be made according to the standard procedure. There will be a hearing first, then it will take some time for a decision.
