How does the Nike Vapor Untouchable 2 football cleat differ from its predecessor. What innovative technologies are incorporated into its design. Why did Nike choose Flyweave over Flyknit for this model. How does the cleat balance lightweight construction with player protection and comfort.
The Evolution of Nike’s Vapor Untouchable Football Cleat
Nike’s Vapor Untouchable 2 football cleat represents a significant leap forward in athletic footwear design. Senior designer Jeff Rasmussen shared valuable insights into the development process and key features that set this model apart from its predecessor. Let’s explore the groundbreaking technologies and design choices that make the Vapor Untouchable 2 a game-changer for football players.
Carbon Fiber Composite: Engineering Excellence
At the heart of the Vapor Untouchable 2’s performance lies its advanced carbon fiber composite plate. This technological marvel has enabled Nike to address multiple design challenges simultaneously:
- Significant weight reduction
- Elimination of the full-length inner sole board
- Enhanced structural integrity in critical areas
- Improved explosiveness in the forefoot
- Better pressure distribution underfoot
How did Nike achieve these improvements? By meticulously engineering every millimeter of the carbon fiber plate, the designers were able to optimize its performance characteristics. The carbon fiber extends into the forefoot cleats, effectively dispersing pressure and enhancing overall comfort for the athlete.
Flyweave: The Cutting-Edge Upper Material
In a departure from the previous model’s Flyknit construction, the Vapor Untouchable 2 utilizes Flyweave technology for its upper. This decision was driven by Nike’s commitment to continuous innovation and finding the best solution for each specific application.
Why choose Flyweave for this particular cleat?
- Ultra-thin and lightweight construction
- Superior conformity to the athlete’s foot
- Ability to fine-tune thread and yarn properties
- Enhanced ballistic protection
- Improved foot lockdown over the footbed
The Flyweave upper works in tandem with Nike’s Flywire technology, creating a synergistic effect. The Flywire acts as an anchor, securing the foot over the footbed and providing crucial support in the heel and along the lateral and medial sides of the shoe.
Balancing Speed and Protection: The Fastest Cleat
While lightweight design is often emphasized in athletic footwear, Nike took a more holistic approach with the Vapor Untouchable 2. Rasmussen explains that the focus was on creating “the fastest cleat” rather than simply the lightest.
What does it mean to be the fastest cleat?
- Optimal balance of lightweight construction
- Integrated protection features
- Enhanced comfort for sustained performance
This approach ensures that players remain fresh and agile throughout the entire game, from the first quarter to the fourth. Moreover, it contributes to long-term athlete health by reducing fatigue and potential injuries over the course of a player’s career.
Design Elements: Form Meets Function
The Vapor Untouchable 2 isn’t just about performance; it’s also a statement piece in terms of design. One notable feature that caught the attention of fans on social media is the backwards swoosh on the medial side of the cleat.

The backwards swoosh serves as a reminder that while the Vapor Untouchable 2 is a high-performance piece of equipment, it’s also a showcase of Nike’s commitment to innovative and eye-catching footwear design.
Position-Specific Considerations in Cleat Design
When developing the Vapor Untouchable 2, Nike’s design team considered the specific needs of different player positions on the football field. They categorized players into three main “buckets”:
- Edge players (e.g., receivers)
- Box players (e.g., linebackers)
- Linemen
The Vapor Untouchable 2 was primarily designed with edge players in mind – those who require maximum speed and agility. By focusing on the needs of these dynamic athletes, Nike was able to create a cleat that caters to the demands of the fastest and most explosive players on the field.
The Future of Nike Football Cleats
While Rasmussen remained tight-lipped about potential non-cleated versions of the Vapor Untouchable 2, the positive response to its design has sparked speculation among fans. The striking white and gold colorway, combined with the innovative Flyweave upper, has many wondering if a trainer version might be in the works.
Is there precedent for such a release? Indeed, Nike has previously released non-cleated versions of signature football shoes, such as Calvin Johnson’s line. While Rasmussen neither confirmed nor denied the possibility, the door remains open for future adaptations of this popular design.
The Legacy of the CJ Trainer Line
Speaking of signature football shoes, it’s worth noting Rasmussen’s involvement in designing the Nike CJ Trainer line for Calvin Johnson. This series of shoes has become a personal favorite for many football enthusiasts, showcasing Nike’s ability to create versatile footwear that translates well from on-field performance to everyday wear.
What made the CJ Trainer line so successful? Its blend of performance features derived from football cleats with the comfort and style of traditional athletic trainers resonated with both athletes and casual wearers alike. This crossover appeal demonstrates Nike’s expertise in leveraging their sports technology for broader applications.
Innovative Materials: Flyknit vs. Flyweave
The switch from Flyknit to Flyweave in the Vapor Untouchable 2 represents an interesting evolution in Nike’s use of advanced textiles. Both technologies offer unique benefits, and their application depends on the specific requirements of each shoe design.
How do Flyknit and Flyweave differ?
- Flyknit: A knitted material that offers a sock-like fit and reduces waste in the manufacturing process
- Flyweave: A woven material that allows for more precise engineering of strength and flexibility in specific areas
Rasmussen emphasizes that Flyknit remains an important technology for Nike, but Flyweave proved to be the optimal choice for the Vapor Untouchable 2’s particular requirements. The ability to fine-tune the material’s properties for football-specific performance was a key factor in this decision.
The Importance of Material Innovation in Sports Footwear
Nike’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of material science underscores the critical role that innovative textiles play in modern athletic footwear. By continually developing new materials and refining existing ones, companies like Nike can create shoes that offer increasingly specialized performance benefits.
What are the potential future developments in football cleat materials? While it’s difficult to predict specific innovations, we can expect continued refinement of lightweight, durable, and responsive materials that enhance player performance while prioritizing safety and comfort.
The Impact of Athlete Feedback on Cleat Design
Throughout the development process of the Vapor Untouchable 2, Nike’s design team relied heavily on input from professional football players. This collaborative approach ensures that the final product meets the real-world needs of athletes at the highest level of competition.
How does Nike incorporate athlete feedback into their design process?
- Conducting interviews and focus groups with players
- Analyzing on-field performance data
- Prototype testing with elite athletes
- Iterative design refinements based on player insights
By maintaining an open dialogue with the athletes who will ultimately wear their products, Nike can create cleats that not only meet but exceed the expectations of professional football players.
Balancing Individual Needs with Overall Performance
Rasmussen notes that while the Vapor Untouchable 2 is designed with specific player types in mind, athletes are ultimately individuals with unique preferences and requirements. This understanding highlights the challenge of creating a high-performance cleat that can cater to a wide range of players while still offering specialized benefits.
How does Nike address this challenge? By focusing on core performance attributes that benefit all players – such as lightweight construction, superior traction, and optimal support – while also offering multiple cleat options to suit different playing styles and positions.
The Role of Aesthetics in Performance Footwear
While performance is paramount in the design of football cleats, the visual appeal of the shoe should not be underestimated. The striking appearance of the Vapor Untouchable 2, particularly its white and gold colorway, has garnered significant attention from fans and players alike.
Why is the aesthetic design of sports footwear important?
- Boosts athlete confidence and psychological performance
- Enhances brand recognition on the field
- Appeals to consumers for potential lifestyle wear
- Showcases the brand’s design expertise and innovation
The backwards swoosh on the medial side of the Vapor Untouchable 2 is a perfect example of how Nike blends form and function. This unique design element adds visual interest while also serving as a testament to the brand’s willingness to challenge conventions and push the boundaries of footwear design.
The Intersection of Sports and Fashion
The growing trend of athletic footwear crossing over into fashion and lifestyle wear has not gone unnoticed by major sports brands. While the Vapor Untouchable 2 is primarily designed for on-field performance, its eye-catching design speaks to the potential for broader appeal.

Jeff Rasmussen Shares Insights On The Nike Vapor Untouchable II Cleats (And Megatron’s Too) • KicksOnFire.com
I would like to start off by apologizing to everybody reading this. I tried to get Jeff Rasmussen – senior designer at Nike Football – to crack. I know the response to the Nike Vapor Untouchable II cleats has been positive, with many people were wondering if that particular design, with its dope white and gold colorway and Flyweave would ever come in a non-cleated version. There’s precedent for this of course because we’ve seen Calvin Johnson’s signature Nike cleats come in non-cleat form. Jeff wouldn’t budge on whether it was coming trainer form or not, but he did not confirm or deny so there is hope.
But that’s not all that we talked about of course. Jeff revealed the process of making the Vapor Untouchable II and why it is such a big change (from Flyknit to Flyweave) from last year’s model. He also shares some of his thoughts on a personal favorite football silhouette of mine from the past few years as he was the designer behind the Nike CJ Trainer line.
The biggest changes from last year’s Vapor Untouchable:
The evolution of the technologies, sort of the ingredients in the pot, so to speak and the way we progressed each and every part of what makes up the Untouchable II. So staring with the carbon fiber composite which has really pushed this cleat to the next level because we’re able to engineer it to such an extent that we were able to solve all these different problems. We were able to reduce weight significantly through this process we were able to eliminate a full component (that was found in the previous cleat) that has significant weight, meaning the full-length inner sole board. So we got rid of that and we went back in and built more structure into the carbon fiber plate and putting the structure where it should be which is in the plate and in forefoot, which makes the plate more explosive. And the last thing we took this carbon and nuanced and engineered every millimeter and we sucked the carbon into the forefoot cleat helping to disperse pressure, that underfoot pressure that the athlete is really critical of. We took that factor out.
On the use of Flyweave as opposed to Flyknit:
What inspired the change was innovation. We love Flyknit, we love Flyweave, but every year the team is working towards progressing that innovation. Believe me Flyknit is not going anywhere. Flyweave for this particular shoe at this particular time is the best solution because it’s ultra thin, it’s super light and it conforms to the athlete seamlessly. And we’re able to tune the threads and the yarns for the specific athlete. So for this particular shoe we wanted to tune it for a football athlete so it had to be ballistic and really hold the athlete over the footbed. You know about Flywire but the way we were able to work them in tandem with Flyweave, so we have the ballistic shell made of Flyweave, we have this Flywire is an anchor that holds the foot over the footbed by keeping the athlete back in the heel and down on the lateral and medial side.
On the concern of the cleat being too light:
So that’s why we talk about the cleat being the fastest cleat as opposed to being the lightest (Editor’s Note: hmmm, wonder what that’s in reference to, I wonder…). It’s a huge difference when you talk to athletes at the highest level, everyone wants to talk about being these fastest, not the lightest. So we build the latest cleat, meaning we not only build something that is lightweight, but we also build protection and comfort. Those things keeps players fresh. This is especially important for football players because you want them as fresh as possible in fourth quarter as they were in the first quarter and holistically, for their entire career. Being lightweight doesn’t always mean the fastest. The fastest is the fastest.
On the backwards swoosh on the medial side, which people on Twitter seemed to like:
It’s all about composition. As much as I love to build and make the plates work a particular way, I also want to add a little personality. Actually, I want to add a lot of personality. So these things are our ways of saying ‘hey man, this is not just a piece of equipment, we’re having fun, this is also showcasing footwear and being the pinnacle of that’.
What positions were considered when designing the cleat:
So we have these buckets. We have the people that play on the edges like the receivers. In the box, you’ve got linebackers and you have lineman. Those are three major buckets. This shoe is made of the players that play on the edges, the fastest and most dynamic. We design it with them in mind. We talk to those players and they give us the insight. Now athletes, they are their own athlete (laughs). They can do whatever they want. They choose to wear this, that’s up to them. And everyone’s built different. This shoe may not be ideal for one player regardless of position, but they get to pick and choose.
On the hopes of the Vapor Untouchable II design becoming a trainer for us non-football people:
I love the gold, but I’d love it better without the cleat part so I can wear it out…
They’re good, right (laughs)? You just want to be able to rip the top off and put them on a Roshe sole or something. But I don’t know and I can’t control. I wish I could go in the lab and just make my own shoes. Maybe if I was cobbler…
But the cleats are awesome. I look at the gold plate and I turn it over and I look at the carbon fiber that our entire team worked on for so long and seeing it framed up with the gold, I just think it’s a beautiful thing.
Quick tangent on the Calvin Johnson’s cleats because I saw it behind Jeff:
Yup, big fan…
Believe me, everything that we put on Calvin’s shoe is a conscious decision (laughs). Calvin comes to us says what he needs. In generalities, he wants his foot to be locked down and he especially wants arch support. He feels like if he has a high arch he can be more explosive off the line so that’s we gave him solutions like on the first one, big straps.
If you look at the first CJ, you’ll notice that on the strap it goes on the inside from the medial side to outside on the lateral side. That’s Calvin’s insight. Because of the way he tied his trainers, we looked at it and thought that since he wanted a high arch we’ll give him the strap goes right against the foot. It’s the same thing when we did the second one so there’s similarities and then in the third one, we moved to new technologies because new technology were available to us. So if you look at the CJ3, if you look at the medial side you’ll notice that the Flywire sort converges all on the arch and that’s because CJ still wants that high arch, lockdown fit and explosive feeling.
Making The Game’s Fastest Even Faster
It was November 13, 2016. Dallas had the ball and was trailing by one point. Only 14 seconds remained on the clock and the ball was on Pittsburgh’s 32-yard line. Despite only having one timeout left, the offense decided to keep it on the ground and hand the ball to their star back, Ezekiel Elliott. As soon as he got the ball, Zeke saw daylight. He turned on the jets and burst through the middle of the line, catching his opponents off guard and giving them no chance to catch him as he raced into the end zone. He scored the game-winning touchdown and delivered a highlight that would be replayed for decades to come. Elliott lives for big moments like this, and he has the speed and work ethic to deliver time and time again. He also has the perfect cleat for these situations: the Nike Vapor Untouchable 3 Pro.
Lightweight, but reliably supportive. Fast, but incredibly comfortable. The Vapor Untouchable 3 Pro is the football cleat that the most explosive players on the field have been waiting for. Let’s break down how it helps speedsters like Ezekiel Elliott make the biggest plays look effortless.
Distraction-Less Fit And Feel
When the game is on the line, there can’t be any distractions. No threads out of place or areas of discomfort. That’s why the Vapor Untouchable 3 Pro has a seamless one-piece bootie construction and an integrated tongue. It ensures that each player will get the perfect fit every time they lace up and allows them to focus on making that game-changing play.
Lightweight Breathability And Durability
Thanks to mesh and synthetic skins along the upper, the Vapor Untouchable 3 Pro cleats are never too heavy, hot, or flimsy. They are built to last and to keep elite athletes comfortable from the opening kickoff to the final play.
Total Support And Stability
The faster players accelerate and cut, the more at risk they are for injuries. Flywire cables around the midfoot of these cleats lock feet into place and provide total support. That way, players can stay confident while racing past the opposition.
Game-Changing Traction And Control
Playmakers like Zeke rarely run straight during a play. They need to cut, juke, and spin their way to greatness. If they can change direction even a split second faster, they can make their opponent look foolish. The Vapor Untouchable 3 Pro features revolutionary cleat studs that dig deep into the ground as they plant their feet, allowing them to deliver video-game-level moves.
Unbelievable Acceleration And Explosiveness
From fast to untouchable, from good to unstoppable — the carbon fiber plate on these cleats is the pinnacle of electric speed. During every push-off, the plate propels the foot forward with speed, ensuring that skill players get that added burst they need to leave their opponent in the dust.

Canada Goose comes under fire again from Chinese state media, regulators after returns policy sparks furor
A Canada Goose store, in Beijing, on Dec. 2.TINGSHU WANG/Reuters
Luxury parka maker Canada Goose is facing renewed scrutiny in China from state media and regulators, months after it was fined for allegedly misleading advertising.
This week, Chinese media reported that a customer in Shanghai was told by a Canada Goose store that she could not return a faulty jacket despite the brand advertising a 30-day return policy on its website. Allegations Canada Goose was applying a double standard to customers in China soon went viral, with some online even calling for a boycott.
The problem appears to have arisen from a confusing clause in Canada Goose’s refunds policy, displayed in all its stores: “Unless otherwise provided by applicable laws, all products sold at Canada Goose’s retail stores in the Chinese mainland are strictly non-refundable.” According to Canada Goose, this means that refunds are permitted, as is required legally; but staff have interpreted it otherwise, refusing to accept returns based on the policy.
In a statement, the Canadian retailer said it “abides by Chinese laws and regulations,” and its policies are “in line with industry standards.”
Canada Goose goes viral in China – for all the wrong reasons
Insistence that there is no discriminatory refund policy has largely fallen on deaf ears, however – and not just among Canada Goose’s critics. The Global Times, a state-run tabloid, sent reporters to several stores in Beijing and Shanghai after the company issued a statement clarifying it allows refunds, only to be told by employees that they were not permitted to do so.
On Wednesday, regulators in Shanghai, who in September fined Canada Goose 450,000 yuan ($90,000) over misleading advertising about the quality of down stuffing inside the company’s parkas, summoned representatives to provide a “formal explanation” for the refund scandal.
This is the second time Canada Goose has made headlines in China in under a week, both times for the wrong reasons. On Friday, the brand was the number-one trending topic on social media platform Weibo, as users pointed to the September ruling as a guide on how to find quality parkas and puffer jackets to buy, with Canada Goose used as the negative example.
“They haven’t really done anything wrong – it’s just their turn,” said Avery Booker, the co-founder of Jing Daily, a trade publication focused on the business of luxury in China. “If you look at them objectively, I think they’ve done everything right in China as a foreign brand.”
The Toronto-based brand operates 14 stores across the Chinese mainland, with three more in Hong Kong and Macao. Its store on TMall, the Alibaba-owned e-commerce platform, recorded sales of 167 million yuan ($33.2-million) in 2020, according to Chinese state media. In a recent statement, Canada Goose said its wider Asia-Pacific business was worth around a quarter of a billion dollars.
But the current climate in China is intensely difficult for foreign brands, with companies such as Nike, Burberry, Adidas, H&M and even leading luxury brands like Dior suffering backlashes and criticism.
Mr. Booker saw the recent scrutiny of Canada Goose as partly designed to boost local Chinese competitors, pointing to the upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing early next year.
“Canada Goose has kind of been a victim of their own success – they’re still the hottest winter brand in China,” he said. “And winter clothing, the winter sports arena, is a big area that Beijing is focused on ahead of the Winter Olympics – one that doesn’t have many established local brands.”
With domestic competitors nipping at their heels, Mr. Booker said, brands like Canada Goose and Moncler are going to come in for extra scrutiny.
“It seems like the only brands that are going to be immune from this in the winter sphere are going to be Chinese-owned,” he added.
Luxury brands have also been hit by the drop in Chinese tourism as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Shoppers who once would have thronged the streets of Paris or Milan are now staying home, and this has created new opportunities for domestic brands to win their businesses – and led foreign competitors to face extra scrutiny and often nationalist criticism online.
Mr. Booker said that for some products, such as luxury watches and jewelry, as much as 70 per cent of sales to Chinese consumers are made abroad, and even for larger products this can still run over 50 per cent.
The problem could be particularly acute for brands like Canada Goose whose products are more seasonal. Chinese consumers might have bought jackets during summer sales while on holiday, but they may be less likely to do so at home, particularly if there is a high-quality – but cheaper – local competitor on offer.
While observers expect Canada Goose to weather the current storm, the outlook for foreign brands in China is not good, especially as the country goes into the politically sensitive year of 2022, in which it will mark not only the Beijing Olympics, but the 25th anniversary of the Hong Kong handover, an all important Communist Party congress at which President Xi Jinping is expected to seek an unprecedented third term.
“It’s going to be a really tough time for brands, think they’re going to have to hunker down,” Mr. Booker said.

20 NBA Players That Could Be Traded Soon: Kemba Walker And John Wall Are Likely To Be Moved Next
With the news that both Kemba Walker and Blake Griffin have been removed from their team’s rotation, their futures in New York look murky at best. Both are former All-Stars having career-lows in individual stats, but ego could play a role in their future wanting to stay with their respective franchises.
There is still plenty of time before the NBA Trade Deadline, but this recent news could be the tipping point of musical chairs. Each team is always looking for an upgrade, while some could sell off their prized pieces to help with the rebuild. Among Griffin and Walker, these 20 players could be on the move soon.
20. Davis Bertans
The Washington Post
Stats: 4.6 PPG, 1.8 RPG, 0.5 APG, 0.2 SPG, 0.0 BPG
This contract looks bad. Bertans is in the second year of a five-year, $80 million contract extension with the Wizards. He is averaging some of the worst numbers in his career through 11 games. The worst part is that the Wizards are winning without him. That means it’s going to be even tougher for his $16 million salaries to be moved.
A buyout seems unlikely, so the Wizards could be calling teams about his availability. After all, he is a career 40% three-point shooter. However, if a team bites, they are in it for the long haul with this contract.
19. Kevin Knox
Stats: 3.8 PPG, 0.5 RPG, 0.2 APG, 0.0 SPG, 0.0 BPG
The Kevin Knox experiment in New York has to be over soon. The former No. 9 overall pick of the 2018 draft has played just four games this season. His offense is lackluster. He doesn’t play good enough defense to catch the eye of Tom Thibodeau. Knox could net the Knicks a second-round draft pick if a team was interested.
Knox is only 22 years old, so a young team like the Magic or Pistons should make a phone call. Knox is in the final year of his contract too, so if a rebuilding team believed in him, they could take a chance for now and later. Knox is a very low-risk, high-reward scenario.
18. Jusuf Nurkic
Bet the Prop
Stats: 12.5 PPG, 10.9 RPG, 2.2 APG, 1.2 SPG, 0.5 BPG
If Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum aren’t going anywhere, then something has to be done. The Trail Blazers can’t keep expecting the same .500 team to get better when history shows it doesn’t work that way. Nurkic can’t be the third player of the big three if the team wants out of the first round. With the way Nurkic is playing, the team has options.
One option is to deal Nurkic to a contender and receive draft capital. He is worth a first-round pick right now and it could help the team in the future if Lillard bolts this offseason via trade. There is also trying to flip Nurkic to a team like Minnesota with draft capital to go all-in on Karl-Anthony Towns.
17. Coby White
Stats: 6.1 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 1.3 APG, 0.1 SPG, 0.1 BPG
The emergence of Alex Caruso, Derrick Jones Jr., and Ayo Dosunmu has helped the Bulls fuel their bench for now. That makes White expendable. White is averaging about nine points less than last year, but he is also not starting. White also missed time to start the year due to injuries.
The Bulls need either a true three-point specialist or a rim protector to backup Nikola Vucevic. White could land that as he is just 21 years old and in his third season in the league.
16. Derrick White
(via Pounding The Rock)
Stats: 12.1 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 5.2 APG, 1.2 SPG, 1.0 BPG
With DeMar DeRozan out of town, the Spurs needed someone to take over ball handling. That job went to Dejounte Murray, but White has slid into a distributor’s role himself. The 5.2 assists per game to go with 12.1 points is a solid stat line. White is in his first season of a four-year, $70 million contract extension. That’s fairly affordable for the production.
Does White make the cut for the future in San Antonio? That’s the question that needs to be answered. Then again, does anyone know what the future holds for San Antonio these days?
15. Marcus Smart
Stats: 11.2 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 5.7 APG, 2.1 SPG, 0.3 BPG
Smart would be the most underrated pickup at the deadline if the Celtics decide to move him. There is tension between Smart and the team already based on his comments about Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum’s ability to share the ball. If the playoffs started now, the Celtics would probably be a first-round playoff exit. Smart can get the Celtics either draft capital or they could flip him.
Smart is leading all point guards in steals per game. His defense is undeniably valuable. He’s under contract for the next four years too. Based on locker room contention alone, we Smart out the door.
14. Eric Gordon
Stats: 13.3 PPG, 2.1 RPG, 2.4 APG, 0.6 SPG, 0.6 BPG
The Houston Rockets fire sale has to be coming soon, right? The team is 4-16 and poised to be in position for another lottery pick. Guys like Eric Gordon are not going to be on this team when they compete, so Gordon has to be moved soon you would think. Gordon is averaging a solid line for a player that can come off the bench for a contender. Is it first-round pick worthy, not quite.
PJ Tucker was worth a first-round pick for his defense and his ability to hit corner threes. Gordon is a streaky outside shooter, but Tucker brought more to the table and that was evident in his performance in the NBA Finals last year. Tucker was also a free agent, while Gordo has two years and about $39 million left on his contract. This is prime salary-cap relief for Houston if a team can match an expiring contract.
13. Malcolm Brogdon
Stats: 20.7 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 5.9 RPG, 0.8 SPG, 0.6 BPG
Brogdon is due about $22 million the next four seasons, so it would have to be an offer that could involve matching salaries. Brogdon has appeal because the Pacers are a bad team and he has been playing like an efficient starting point guard. With that said, the Timberwolves are an interesting candidate, and here’s why.
D’Angelo Russell has only one year and $30 million left on his contract. Brogdon is the most complete guard and the Timberwolves are currently the No. 6 seed in the West. Imagine the Pacers tear everything down. They have one bad year next season, get a lottery pick, and have a salary cap moving forward, while Minnesota looks to compete for a playoff spot.
12. Jonas Valanciunas
Stats: 19.3 PPG, 12.4 RPG, 2.4 APG, 0.6 SPG, 0.9 BPG
When the Pelicans traded for Valanciunas and signed Devonte’ Graham, they thought these were surrounding pieces that would make Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson, and the team better. Instead, the team is 6-17 and Williamson hasn’t played a game this season. It begs the question of if Williamson should be brought back and what should the team do now.
Valanciunas is leading all centers in three-point field goal percentage and was leading the league at one point. He’s also averaging a stellar points-rebounds slash line. He has been Ingram’s go-to player this year, but he should be the go-to player in the Pelicans deal to get some value for the future.
11. Blake Griffin
Stats: 5.5 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 2.0 APG, 0.5 SPG, 0.6 BPG
This came as a shock when the Nets demoted Griffin. When he returned, he knew he wasn’t going to be the same All-Star he was. In the playoffs, Griffin shined playing as the team’s starting center by making complementary plays. With Kyrie Irving out, the team was already lacking star power, so Griffin’s addition meant depth in the frontcourt at least.
Instead, LaMarcus Aldridge has played more efficiently and has taken the bulk of playing time. With Griffin available, some teams like the Suns, Jazz, or even the Lakers could make a phone call. Griffin isn’t going to join any team as there were rumors about him retiring last year.
10. Kemba Walker

Stats: 11.7 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 3.1 APG, 1.1 SPG, 0.3 BPG
Watching Walker decline the last few years has been sad if you remember how he played as a member of the Charlotte Hornets. Walker finished his career in Charlotte as the all-time leader in points. Now, Walker can’t even get into the rotation with New York, where he is struggling to find an offensive rhythm.
Thibodeau made headlines when he said it was best for the team to exclude Walker from their rotation. Walker signed a two-year, $10 million contract before the year began. For $10 million, a team might take a chance on him. If the Nets can find a way to get out of paying Kyrie Irving, Walker would be a perfect backup or starter. After all, Walker is a New York native.
9. Buddy Hield
via Kimani Okearah
Stats: 17.3 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 2.1 APG, 0.7 SPG, 0.2 BPG
The Lakers were in hot pursuit of Hield during the offseason but elected to go with Russell Westbrook instead. That three-point shooting would probably be nice in Los Angeles these days, but the Lakers are most likely out on Hield’s services now. With the Kings looking like a dumpster fire in the standings, as well as their firing of head coach Luke Walton, their firesale could start soon too.
The only untouchables appear to be De’Aaron Fox and Richaun Holmes. Hield could get the Kings a first-round draft pick. The 76ers are an interesting team who could use another star-studded shooter. Who knows, maybe this could be the trade chip that finally lures Ben Simmons away?
8. Christian Wood
via Getty Images
Stats: 16.8 PPG, 11.8 RPG, 2.3 APG, 0.6 SPG, 1.1 BPG
For reasons similar to Gordon, Wood would be a player on the move too. Wood is by far the team’s best trade chip. Wood has only one year left on his contract for $14 million after this season. He could get the Rockets more draft capital to help with their rebuild. The way Wood is playing, he would be a nice offensive addition.
Keep an eye on the Hornets. With Mason Plumlee hurt and PJ Washington more of a power forward, the Hornets could look to upgrade and add Wood into their already competitive starting lineup. For the first time in years, the Hornets are playoff contenders. Plumlee would be better coming off the bench, while a starting lineup of LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, Miles Bridges, and Wood could be a real threat in the East.
7. Jerami Grant
Credit: USA Today
Stats: 19.7 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 2.4 APG, 1.2 SPG, 0.9 BPG
How many times do we have to say it? Grant is not going to be a member of the Pistons when the team is competitive, so why is he still on the roster? Grant has one more year worth $20 million after this season. Some teams can’t afford that, but other teams can. Grant’s worth is borderline first-round pick territory too, so the Pistons need to take charge.
An interesting team would be the Grizzlies. The team has salary cap space and one more season before they have to break the bank for Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant. The team could look to add Grant, make a run at the playoffs this year, and then affordably make a longer run next year. Plus, Kyle Anderson’s $9 million salaries are off the books after this year.
6. Pascal Siakam
(via Bleacher Report)
Stats: 17.7 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 3.6 APG, 0.8 SPG, 0.7 BPG
Pascal Siakam is due $35 million next season and $37 million the season after that. This is starting to look like a really bad contract. While Siakam was once an All-Star player and key contributor for the 2019 championship team, it appears that he is trending towards John Wall territory for the worst contract extension in the last few years.
Siakam is not a bad player but he is not worth over $30 million right now. With that said, it might be time for a change of scenery. Both the Kings and Warriors have intrigue for landing Siakam, while the Pacers could be an interesting spot too if they decided to trade a player like Myles Turner.
5. Myles Turner
Bleacher Report
Stats: 12.4 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 1.0 APG, 0.6 SPG, 2.8 BPG
Speaking of Turner, he is among the league leaders in blocks and potentially the league’s best rim protector. Turner is not a strong rebounder, but he is an overall strong defender that converts at a high rate inside the paint. Turner is a very desirable player on the market because he has one year left at $17 million on his contract after this season.
A contender like the New York Knicks should be all over this trade. The team could offer a player like Mitchell Robinson, who is a young player with potential, but the Knicks want to win now. A combination of Julius Randle and Turner in the frontcourt would be fantastic. The Knicks are already a great defensive team. Turner, paired with Tom Thibodeau, could raise the team to the best.
4. Kevin Love
HDWallSource
Stats: 10.3 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 1.9 APG, 0.2 SPG, 0.2 BPG
Love is having one of the worst seasons in his career, but that’s partially due to playing time and the team he plays on. Love is not the same All-Star player he once was, but the 33-year old could provide top minutes off the bench. Love has $28 million on his contract next season, so if he wants to play on a contender, he will likely need to find a buyout.
If a buyout happens, teams like the Lakers, Nuggets, and the Bulls could position for his services. Love played in the NBA Finals four years in a row with LeBron James in Cleveland from 2015-2018. That experience is vital and a contender would love to bring him to the team.
3. Harrison Barnes
(via Complex)
Stats: 19.0 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 2.4 APG, 1.0 SPG, 0.2 BPG
Barnes should be the most vetted player this deadline season. Barnes is averaging a great slash line, shooting nearly 40% from three-point range, and is scheduled to make a modest $20 million next year. With the season he is having, he should be one of the top perimeter players on the market right now, especially with the Kings sliding in the standings.
The Nuggets are an interesting team. Will Barton is scheduled to make $15 million next season in the final year of his deal. Barnes and upgrade over Barton, that’s up in the air. It would cost the Nuggets a future first-round pick if they thought so to intrigue the Kings. With Barnes’ rebounding, he is a better trade chip in comparison to Hield.
2. John Wall
Credit: USATSI
Source: USATSI
Stats: None
Wall was supposed to be traded by now. Instead, the Rockets sit with his $44 million salary and no stats to show. Wall owns a player option that can be worth $47 million next season, so we all expect him to pick that up if he has the chance. At this point, the Rockets are willing to let Wall sit and let their young core grow. Also at this point, does Wall want money or contention?
Wall averaged 20.6 points and 6.9 assists in 40 games, which is not a bad line given that Wall finally looked healthy for the first time in two years. No team is going to trade for Wall’s contract. It’s going to take a buyout, but Wall has all the control. Given his recent request to start playing again, it could be an audition for a team to pick him up once that buyout happens.
1. Ben Simmons
Stats: None
The whole offseason featured rumors circulating the future of Simmons after his offensive dud in the postseason. Now, it looks like his value to the team was worth more than people thought. The 76ers went from being a No. 1 seed to a .500 team barely hanging on in the playoff race. Simmons is a former Defensive Player of the Year runner-up that was the best rebounding point guard and an excellent passer, but because he couldn’t shoot threes, all of Philly was ready to run him out of town.
Simmons is owed a lot of money over the next few years. It’s going to take a big contract to match his salary. That is why teams such as the Trail Blazers (CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard), Kings (Buddy Hield), Thunder (salary cap), and Rockets (salary cap) have been rumored. Until Simmons plays, it’s unlikely he gets moved. With that said, he is the one player that needs a change of scenery as soon as possible.

90,000 Nike “Cage” ad. Remake of 2022. | Football. Notes from Chamber
Perhaps the most famous and exciting football ad. Its concept was that a secret tournament was held on the ship with the participation of 24 top football players, divided into 8 teams.

Membership was as follows:

“Triple Espresso” and “Tornado” met in the final.Thierry Henry, immediately after Eric Cantona dropped the ball, jumped on the back of Francesco Totti, who was allegedly tying his shoelaces, and sent the ball into the goal. As a result, “Triple Espresso” became the winner of the tournament.
In the rematch, which was played up to 100 goals, with a score of 99-99, Luis Figo scored the decisive goal, but broke through the ship’s hull and sank the ship.
It would be great if, twenty years later, Nike would remake ads with new characters.
Let’s imagine what the composition of the participants could be:

The Olympic Sports Complex is one of the largest indoor sports and concert complexes in Russia and Europe. It is located in the Meshchansky district of Moscow, on Olimpiysky Prospekt near the Prospekt Mira metro station. Built in 1980 on the site of the Burevestnik stadium. The complex consists of two sports facilities – a giant oval building that houses an indoor stadium and an oval building with several swimming pools. The maximum diameter of the stadium building is 224 meters, the minimum is 183 meters, the area is 33,000 m². The total area of the entire complex is 54,887 m². The complex was built specifically for the XXII Olympic Games in 1980 in Moscow, and since July 19, 1980, the “Olympic” remains the largest structure of its kind in Europe. Several Moscow and All-Union design institutes with a large team of architects and engineers headed by M.V. Posokhin, B. I. Tkhor and L.S. Aranauskas were awarded the Lenin Prize for the project in 1982. The head of the construction was engineer V. I. Nadezhdin, and the main builder was the team of Glavmospromstroy. Construction began in 1977 and was completed three years later, in time for the opening of the Olympics. Rostov and Rostov Gymnastics gymnastics hall (42 × 24 m) Team sports game hall (42 × 24 m) Large (36 × 18 m) and small (100 m²) choreography halls Gym (216 m²) Training ice rink (61 × 31 m.) Rehabilitation center The roof-membrane of the indoor stadium is 6 mm thick, reinforced on an outer reinforced concrete ring, which rests on 40-meter columns. The floor has no other intermediate supports. The arena of the stadium is adapted for several types of surfaces. It can be used with synthetic carpet, recortan treadmill or made into an artificial ice field. The main arena can be transformed into separate sites for the simultaneous holding of competitions in different sports. For example, during the Olympics in Moscow, on the south side of the stadium, 17,000 spectators watched the vicissitudes of a basketball tournament, and in the northern part, 18,000 people watched a boxing match. A unique feature of the stadium is an eight-story building high soundproof partition. The partition consists of 26 panels, is assembled in only two and a half hours and allows you to divide the arena into two parts and, accordingly, hold two events simultaneously. The pool includes: Training bath 50 m long (50x25x2.2) Demonstration bath 50 m long (50x25x2.2) Jumping bath 25 m long and 6 m deep (25x33x6) Children’s bathtub (“splash pool”) Heating bath in the jumping sector Saunas , training and gymnastics halls, a strength training hall, massage rooms The sports complex has two press centers (each with 120 seats), a conference hall (150 people), a meeting room. All sports facilities of the complex are equipped with a full set of sports equipment and inventory for the successful holding of competitions in 22 sports of the Olympic program. Over the years, Olimpiyskiy has become acquainted with a variety of sports: boxing, basketball, artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, volleyball, ice hockey and bandy, karate and taekwondo, badminton, track and field athletics, biathlon, etc. The complex is a venue for training for about 20 Russian national teams in various sports.Since 1982, Olimpiyskiy has become a popular music venue, hundreds of domestic and foreign performers from pop music to heavy metal have performed here. A historic event happened in 1987, when a Western rock group first came on tour to the USSR, the Space group became the pioneers. They were followed by Status Quo, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Nazareth and others. There is a book fair in the stadium building. Every winter, a free outdoor skating rink is installed next to the Olimpiyskiy Sports Complex. In St. Petersburg there is a similar building called the Petersburg Sports and Concert Complex, which looks similar to the Olympic in Moscow, but its capacity is 10,000 spectators less and amounts to 25,000 spectators. 90,000 What to expect from the Warriors in the trade deadline ”Everything in the world of basketball
The Warriors will behave aggressively before the deadline. We will follow the development of events.
For a long time we approached this stage of the season with the best result and behaved calmly before the deadline. We had little discussion with other clubs. This time we will be more open to getting in touch ourselves and listening to suggestions. ”
This is a March 11 comment from Golden State President Bob Myers regarding the club’s plans for the upcoming trade deadline. At first glance, it is strange that the official representative of the team just lays out all the cards on the table, in fact, declaring that the management is interested in strengthening the composition. In part, this gives other clubs the opportunity to more actively impose their terms on the Warriors – “you need to – pay more.”On the other hand, it is unlikely that Myers’ comment came as a surprise to anyone.
“GSV” are not in the most enviable position: for this season, their payroll is full of 172 million, which inflates the amount of tax to some kind of cosmic proportions. At the same time, by the standards of the Western conference, the team looks quite average – the Warriors are not bad in matches with equal opponents (or with those who are weaker), but against the tops they are almost powerless – look at the recent defeats of the Lakers and Clippers “.
At the same time, not to say that the club is doing something wrong or that the circumstances are not in their favor: Curry is relatively good and relatively healthy this season, Wiggins made a huge leap forward and shows the best basketball of his career, Green again charged for the result. The whole situation is greatly spoiled by the injury of Clay Thompson, but we knew about it even before the start of the season.
This mismatch between payroll and club performance puts pressure on Golden State management anyway, no matter how good Myers is with the owners.Adding in the fact that Curry is now 33, and with his ankles, he is unlikely to be able to play at the top level until 40 years old. All this leads to the fact that the leadership of “GSV” simply cannot but be active on this trade deadline.
What assets does the Warriors have?
2021 draft pick from Minnesota. With him, everything is not entirely unambiguous – he is protected in the top-3, and the Wolves, meanwhile, are going with the worst result in the league. That is, right now, the Timberwolves’ chances of retaining their wealth are about 40%, which is a lot, given the recent draft lottery reform. The remaining 60% is a 4-5 draft pick for the Warriors. The draft of 2021 promises to be strong – scouts predict almost 7 future all-stars, so such a peak will have a fairly high value in the market. If luck is still on the side of Minnesota, then they will automatically have to give up their choice in the 1st round already in 2022. On the one hand, you don’t expect the Wolves to fight for the playoffs next season, so their peak in the 2022 draft can also be quite valuable, on the other hand, in the NBA everything is changing so quickly now that we are 100% confident here it is impossible to be.
James Wiseman as a promising young player for the really big star package.
Other youth – optional. Someone may be interested in Poole, someone – Pascal, someone – Manion. There are hardly any untouchables among them.
Elimination of the injured player for 9.3 million from Clay Thompson + mid-level.
Kelly Ubre’s expiring contract (14 million) – to equalize salaries in the deal.Kelly isn’t as bad this season as many think of him, but on the basis of a combination of factors, he is still the first to leave the team in the event of an exchange.
Andrew Wiggins as a promising young player / filler for the deal? With Andrew, everything is extremely curious – this year he is the most eloquent confirmation of the theory that in the right organization, even a seemingly hopeless player can be made a piece of candy. His progress is really impressive, especially considering the fact that he added the most in defense. You look at him and finally understand what they saw in him then, in 2014.
Behind a cloudy veil of negativity and unjustified expectations, many simply forgot that Wiggins came to the league as a player with elite data. These data: athleticism, size, scoring skills, have not gone anywhere, just until that time Andrew could not realize them due to the fact that he was rotting for a long time in Minnesota. Of course, it is wrong to blame all the responsibility on the team – even there Wiggins had chances that he simply did not take advantage of (Thibodeau, Butler, etc.), but as they say, feel the difference.
Right now, he is gradually turning into a full-fledged second option of the Golden State in attack and an elite stopper in defense – it feels like in another 2-3 years and he will be able to justify, if not all, then at least most of those advances that he was discharged in 2014.
The only question is how much the attitude towards Andrew has changed in the league. If this summer seemed like he had one of the worst contracts in the league, now he may even be a desirable player for someone. The Warriors may have big plans for him too, so I’d bet Wiggins would only leave the team if there was a chance to get a big star.
So who can Golden State target?
Washington attacking defender Bradley Beale may continue his career at Golden State. Insiders Brian Windhorst and Tim Bontemps announced this in The Hoop Collective podcast.
Beal right now is a key target for a good half of the league’s clubs, but everything in his relationship with Washington is so incomprehensible that it is absolutely pointless to sort out rumors and guess something.
The only question that makes sense is, if Bradley is actually available, how attractive the Warriors’ portfolio of assets will be against the background of the rest of the offers that the Wizards will receive.
For my taste, it can be one of the most attractive, if not the most attractive. Minnesota’s pick + their picks + Wiseman + Ubre / Wiggins is really good compensation. Only Miami and Denver can compete here with Golden State.
Golden State is interested in acquiring Houston defender Victor Oladipo, reports The Ringer, citing league sources.
Recently, Oladipo has been too actively wooed in the “FGP”. So much so that there is a clear impression that this is just such a way of promoting Viktor as an asset, although he has recently been more of a passive (know homo).
Oladipo is degrading, you can see it in every Rockets game I’ve watched this season.Do not believe me – statistics also confirm this. Many blame it on the team, they say the guys are tanking, what can you demand from Viti, but the problem is that he was bad back in Indiana. It was assumed that “Houston” for him, on the contrary, will become a kind of rehab, where he will come to his senses and finally begin to return to his old level. This is not happening – what could be the conversation about his transfer to Golden State, when he will knock out a near-maximum contract for himself in the summer?
Golden State have long followed Orlando heavy forward Aaron Gordon and are interested in exchanging him, according to various insider reports.Orlando is rumored to want a decent young player and a round 1 pick for Gordon.
Superstars aside, Gordon is arguably the Warriors’ best bet of any exchange available on the market. He knows how to move the ball (4 assists per game), shoots from behind the arc (40% on 4 shots), gives vertical spacing in attack and is relatively good in defense, to play exchanges on the perimeter and help paint. There is a feeling that it is under the leadership of Kerr that Aaron can give his career a second wind – Clifford is a very decent defensive coach, but he was never famous for his attacking schemes.I think there is no need to explain what Golden State’s attacking schemes are.
If Orlando really doesn’t beat the price for Gordon, the Warriors should at least fight for him. Aaron has another 2 years under a contract for fairly sane amounts – 18 million this year and 16 million next year. This means that for him you will have to give Ubre, possibly Looney, and what the “Magic” actually want to get – the peak of the 1st round and the young player. I don’t think that Wiseman or Minnesota’s pick will figure here, but GSV may well give their pick to Pascal.
The rest of the most frequently mentioned players in the press are either role-players who will not change the overall picture much, or Lonzo Ball and John Collins. Regarding the latter: both on expiring contracts and both in the offseason will qualify for large sums. As much as one would like to see Ball and Collins in Golden State uniform, all of this is highly unlikely – the club has an overblown payroll. And giving up any assets for the six-month lease of an expiring non-star player is hardly the Warriors.
90,000 Oleg’s poll on the preferred form … – Alexey Navalny
How prison helps to understand feminists.
The authorities of our camp are calling me. And he says:
– Yours, convicted Navalny, correction is impossible without involvement in labor activity. You have been with us for nine months, it’s time to work.
Taking into account the vacancies, there were the following vacancies: a day worker, a cook, a baker, an auxiliary worker, and a sewing industrial zone.
I will not bore you with a discussion of the intricacies of prison professions. If you do not know, it’s fine – you don’t need it. I can only say that I like the picture where I am a baker – I stand there, such a ruddy fellow in a white cap, hands on his hips, watch the BREAD ripen in the oven, and smile thoughtfully at something.
However, I nevertheless decided to stay away from the nomenclature positions and enrolled in a sewing workshop. Closer to the “mass of people”.
– So, a seamstress, – said the authorities.
So, I think, what kind of people are they? You must definitely say “seamstress” in the feminine gender to pry.The word “seamstress” seems to be absent, but the name of this profession should be in the masculine gender.
And then I look in the application for training: “seamstress”. And at all the “seamstress” stands. And in all documents.
This is the name of this profession – “seamstress”. There is no other name. And “operator of a sewing workshop” (which you probably thought about) is a different profession.
And I said to myself: “Aren’t you, Alexei, here on Instagram I laughed at feminists who do not want to be a“ blogger ”and“ author ”in the masculine gender. And they want to be “bloggers” and “authors” ”.
Was he joking about this? He said: “Who cares what a stupid“ author ”is?
Well, now life has made fun of you.
