Next, our team was expected to perform at home at StarSeries S4. It was at this championship that NAVI played an incredible number of maps (22), and also reached the grand final, beating for this FaZe Clan (2: 1) and Astralis (2: 1).
Unfortunately, the guys did not manage to raise the championship cup over their heads this time, but the bitterness of defeat in the final smoothed out Alexander’s achievement “s1mple” Kostylev – Sasha became the first player in CS history to be awarded the MVP title without winning the tournament! In May, after a grueling regular part of the season, NAVI went to play in the final stage of ESL Pro League S7.
The guys got into group A and, thanks to their impeccable performance, immediately reached the semifinals of the championship.For this, in the final of the upper bracket NAVI beat FaZe Clan (2: 0).
However, our team failed to achieve more. The team at Liquid did not let the guys go further than the semifinals, which apparently found a “key” for the fight against Natus Vincere . As a result, another hit in the top 4. The best player in Dallas for Born to Win was Denis “ electroNic ” Sharipov.

Having returned from America, NAVI almost immediately started hard training, because on the nose there was a performance in front of native fans – on StarSeries S5.It was the championship in Kiev that became a turning point: the guys were finally able not only to reach the final, but also to raise the championship cup over their heads!
As strange as it may sound, in fact the StarSeries S5 championship was determined in the semifinals, during the match NAVI – mousesports .
And this success in Kiev is doubly pleasant, as the players of Natus Vincere managed to take revenge after an offensive defeat in the previous season of StarSeries. Now the StarSeries S5 championship title has been added to the MVP award s1mple .
Our guys didn’t have much time to enjoy this success, because in less than two weeks Born to Win had a trip to China and a performance at CS: GO Asia Championships 2018. Of course, the composition of this tournament was weaker in comparison with StarSeries S5, but the success at CAC 2018 certainly allowed our team to strengthen their faith in themselves and their strengths. In addition, the NAVI players managed to check out some of the developments in the most combat conditions on the eve of ESL One Cologne 2018.
StarSeries S5 Results
If at the two previous tournaments some Counter-Strike grandees were absent, then the best of the best really gathered in Cologne.
The tournament for Natus Vincere began with an offensive loss to G2 , which threw our guys into the lower bracket and made the path to the champion title as difficult as possible, because now Born to Win had no room for error!
So, step by step, NAVI overpowered one opponent after another and in the match for the exit from the group met with the opening of the tournament – the team ENCE .In this duel, really worthy opponents came together, but if the first two maps ended with the same score – 16:14, then the third was dictated by Born to Win (16: 7 – Nuke).

Alexander “s1mple” Kostylev is the best player in the world. Of course, Sasha spent this season beyond praise: no one could make him compete in terms of individual indicators, with rare exceptions. We recently got acquainted with a part of the lineup of its case fans, where there are also many interesting solutions. Today we will talk about the processor cooler Aerocool Mirage 5.
It was announced in September of this year and is already available for sale at a price of UAH 1099 ($ 39). The key features of this new product are the form factor and design.This is not a traditional rectangular tower with fans on the sides, but something more original. To begin with, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with its characteristics.
Packing and Contents
Cooling system Aerocool Mirage 5 is packed in a cardboard box with color printing and a picture of the device itself on the front side. On the back there is a detailed specification and advertising of its main advantages in several languages, including Russian.
The scope of delivery includes:

Appearance and design
The original design of the Aerocool Mirage 5 is based on a cylindrical radiator with a centrifugal fan hidden inside. This design looks fresh and original, especially against the background of boxed coolers and standard towers from this price range.
The upper part of the cylinder is covered with a plastic cover with a mirror insert, under which the backlight LEDs are hidden. Feels like the mirror part is also plastic, not glass.And the manufacturer himself claims only the design of the “glass mirror”, and not the use of glass.
The design of the heat dissipator consists of 45 aluminum plate-rings with a thickness of about 0.3 mm each, pressed onto five copper U-shaped 6-mm heat pipes with an intercostal distance of 1.7 mm. In terms of density, it is slightly inferior to the usual towers, since the ribs themselves are slightly thinner, and the distance between them is greater than we are used to seeing. The dimensions of the radiator part are 145 mm in height and 100 mm in diameter.
Heatpipes directly contact the processor cover to accelerate heat dissipation. Initially, a sticker is applied to the base to protect it from damage. It must be removed during installation.
The base area is quite standard for this price segment and is 38 x 38 mm. There are no special complaints about the quality of its processing. Only traces of grinding can be noted. The base is fairly flat, especially considering the composite structure.
On the back there is a small aluminum heatsink that unites all heat pipes into a single base.On the sides there are lugs with threaded holes for mounting.
A 60 x 45 mm centrifugal fan is responsible for active heat dissipation. It supports PWM blade speed control from 1200 to 3000 rpm with a maximum noise level of no more than 30 dB. The declared maximum airflow is at 74.3 CFM. It uses a hydraulic bearing with a service life of 60,000 hours.
A 4-pin rubber-braided cable 22 cm long is used for connection.
To connect the backlight, a short wire only 3 cm long is used, so the extension cord was obviously put in the kit for a reason.
For illumination to work, the motherboard must support the Addressable led strip (+ 5VDG) – regular pads for LED strips (+ 12V RGB) are not suitable. If your board lacks such functionality, then the backlight can work in demo mode with power from the main wire.
Installation process
The Aerocool Mirage 5 cooling system is compatible with most current and legacy AMD and Intel processor sockets.The kit comes with a very detailed and most understandable installation instructions. We will show the process using the example of the GIGABYTE B550 AORUS PRO with AMD Socket AM4.
First, you need to remove the standard mounts and the AMD base plate, take the universal one from the kit, install the clips for the screws in the required holes and fix them using the black clips (yellow for Intel).
Next, fix the corresponding legs from the kit and fasten them with four screws.
Remove the protective coating from the base, apply thermal paste to the processor cover and fasten the paws to the clips using four spring-loaded screws.
The illumination looks very nice. Thanks to the mirrored surface inside, it creates the effect of a mirrored room with endless reflections. It can sync with the popular ASUS Aura Sync, GIGABYTE RGB Fusion and MSI Mystic Light Sync, if your motherboard supports them.
We also tried to connect the backlight to the hub on the Xilence X512.RGB case (the recently reviewed Xilence X502 has a similar unit), but in this case only the logo burned, not the ring.
Conclusions
The
Aerocool Mirage 5 cannot be called a boring and pass-through model or just another cooler on the market. First of all, it is notable for its form factor and original illumination hidden under the mirror surface. Also among its advantages we include a reasonable cost, support for most current and not so platforms, ease of installation and the ability to synchronize with popular backlight technologies, if your board supports them.
Otherwise, the illumination can work in demo mode.
The weak side of the new item is the cooling efficiency: at the same rotational speed of the fan blades, it loses to the boxed AMD Wraith Prism, not to mention typical tower systems. However, it is impossible to call the Aerocool Mirage 5 inoperative, because the cooler will cope without any problems with cooling most processors on the market, with the exception of the hot flagship models.
In general, this novelty can be recommended for assembling beautiful and original home systems, especially based on low-end processors and without overclocking experiments.
