If the UPS is running on a battery that is extremely low, then a certain sound occurs, which lasts about half a second.
In just 10 milliseconds, the power switched to the battery. These results are satisfactory by the standards of the studies.
It is also worth noting that in the case of a full load of the device of 900 watts, there is a slight change in the output signal. Therefore, this PSU test went well.
In order to test the performance of the device in action, we decided to test it under a different amount of exposure to the input signal. The resistors were loaded at 40, 60, 80, and 100 percent of the UPS rating. Therefore, during the study, we received the following loads: 360 W, 540 W, 720 W, 900 W.

While showing a video through a special DVD drive system, the power supply showed quite decent results. It was able to run in full screen mode for about 42 minutes before the system made a special sound that the battery was in a minimum power state. After that, the system still worked for almost 9and a half minutes. In our opinion, this result is more than satisfactory and we can state with full confidence that the battery has a good potential for high voltage operation.
In order to understand how the results can be identical, let’s compare a few more measurements on identical hardware. You can view our diagram without any problems. In any case, when the UPS is running on battery power, the unit shows decent results.
Battery Capacity and Charging KIN-1500APRM
It should be understood that certain charging parameters can greatly affect battery wear. Therefore, there are many factors to consider when choosing a charger for a UPS. In our case, we can recommend a charging current with a power of about 2 Amperes. The check was made once after the block was discharged to the end, at a capacity of forty percent. In red you can see the charge current, and in yellow – the degree of voltage on the battery.
At the beginning, the charge current varied around 700 milliamps, and in the next 6 hours it was in the radius of 600 milliamps. But in the next two hours, this number dropped to 100 milliamps. That is, we can make a completely logical conclusion that a charge of up to 90 percent passed in eight hours. In our opinion, these are quite excellent indicators.
The voltage at the end was 27.5 Volts. This is the best performance compared to other ups models.
Cold start and performance with APFC (UPS KIN-1500AP RM)
To test our UPS cold start system, the unit was at full load but without direct mains operation. Therefore, our device was turned on at the declared load. The inverter began to work in the declared mode after about 200 milliseconds. Of course, a faster start is expected for electronic gadgets. But in principle, we can say that this result completely suits us and is quite good. Our assessment is satisfactory.

To check the compatibility of PBPs that have PFC and a wide range of input voltage, that is, automatic voltage, our UPS was connected with a power supply from the FSP at 550 watts, which is already more powerful iron in our tests than on the workbench. Its essence is that it has a fairly wide range of input voltages, ranging from 100 to 240 volts. It also has a PFC function, as required by the test. There were no complaints about the work of the stand.
