The Best Sneaker and Streetwear Collaborations of All-Time
In this day and age, collaborations in the fashion scene are booming. Ongoing partnerships between influential figures and brands have taken the world by storm, releasing covetable grails and naturally bringing in new members to the community. Some of these collaborations include the recent Off-White x Nike Dunk Low “THE 50”, sacai x Nike, Kanye West’s adidas Yeezy collection, co-branded New Balance trainers, and far more.
Whether or not you are new to the sneaker and streetwear scene, we have no doubts that there are collabs you either missed or have forgotten. Thus, I present to you the best sneaker and streetwear collaborations of all time!
Supreme x Nike SB Dunk High Pro
Let’s start off with a collaboration familiar with old-school streetwear aficionados and the modern-day audience—the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk series. Before the Beaverton sportswear giant released the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low in 2021 that consisted of star-embellished pairs in four colourways, the original ensemble from 2003 featured three high-top Dunks.
The Nike Dunk silhouette is currently the go-to lifestyle shoe today, gaining an incredible amount of attention since its return to the footwear industry in 2019. The Supreme x Nike Dunk High Pro SB were available in “University Red”, “Syracuse Orange”, and “UNC Blue” colourways, all sporting their respective hues atop a crisp white leather base with a plethora of gold stars printed across the quarter panels. Supreme-branded lace dubraes, also in gold, rounded off the design with a signature touch.
Supreme x A Bathing Ape Camo Box Logo Tee
Supreme New York and A Bathing Ape are acknowledged as legendary icons in the streetwear scene and have always been since the early ’90s. Though a rivalry between them is somewhat apparent, as most people would agree—luring in the audience with their respective aesthetic—both labels have collaborated in the past to bring forth the ultimate grail piece.
From the late ’90s to the early 2000s, the two streetwear powerhouses merged the iconic Supreme Box Logo and famous BAPE camouflage graphics into one. Getting your hands on legit Supreme x BAPE Camo Box Logo tees is near enough impossible, let alone finding one in good condition, and if you do ever find one, expect the price to be sky-high.
Kanye West x A Bathing Ape Bapesta “College Dropout”
Every sneakerhead would agree that Kanye West is ill-famed for his ever-growing collection of Yeezy trainers that are all the rage these days. But before the renowned American rapper and fashion guru joined the Trefoil family to dominate the streets with Boost-cushioned shoes, Ye joined forces with NIGO’s A Bathing Ape for a Kanye West x A Bathing Ape Bapesta “College Dropout” collaboration in 2007.
The streetwear and sneaker community has a love and hate relationship with the Bapesta silhouette. Why? It’s deemed a replica of the iconic Nike Air Force 1—bearing the same construction except Nike branding details withdrawn in favour of BAPE motifs. Ye blessed BAPE’s signature kicks with a colourway that pays homage to his “The College Dropout” album produced by Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam Recordings in 2004. Even Kanye’s famous bear mascot makes an appearance, printed on the lateral heels.
Off-White x Nike “The Ten”
2017 saw Virgil Abloh’s Off-White x Nike “The Ten”—undeniably one of the most coveted releases to date. The project consisted of ten of Nike’s iconic shoes, with a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star included, all deconstructed and revamped with Off-White signature motifs, notably the symbolic zip-tie tags.
In addition, Abloh and the Swoosh team reached out to Rosie Lee Creative Studio in London to host the “OFF-CAMPUS” event that featured exclusive creative workshops allowing attendees to customise their own AF-1 Low, vintage Nike t-shirts, and much more.
adidas x Palace Skateboards
Are Nike and adidas rivals?—this shouldn’t even be a question. Both sportswear powerhouses have been competing for as long as anyone could remember. While the Swoosh brand has Supreme on their side, the Three Stripes have Palace on theirs. Much like Supreme, Palace is a skateboarding imprint also, founded in 2009 by Levent Tanju and his skate crew. The skate brand became known for its famous Penrose triangle logo titled the “Tri-Ferg”.
In 2013, Palace blessed its audience with a footwear collaboration from the adidas-owned brand Reebok, so it was no surprise that the Tri-Ferg and Three Stripes would eventually merge. The Palace x adidas Palace Pro Trainers in 2015 marked their alliance, and many more collaborative launches that included shoes, clothing, and accessories followed after.
adidas x Kanye West Yeezy
After Kanye West parted ways with the Swoosh residence in 2013 and left his Nike Air Yeezy models to be archived, adidas welcomed Ye with open arms. The partner brought life to the artist’s Yeezy series that offer insanely comfortable adidas shoes that have become a must-have in every sneaker collection.
The partner debuted the adidas Yeezy Boost 750 in February 2015—a high-top, suede-coated sneaker with side zips, forefoot strap, and a full-length adidas Boost midsole underneath. The Yeezy Boost 350 then arrived in June the same with the “Turtle Dove” as its inaugural colourway, followed by the “Pirate Black”, “Moonrock”, and the “Oxford Tan”. Fast forward to the present day—the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 are now available in countless colourways—as well as many other models like the Yeezy Boost 380, Yeezy 450, Yeezy 500, Yeezy Boost 700, Yeezy Slide, and Yeezy Foam Runner.
Dior x Stüssy Fall 2020 Collection
The rise of streetwear and sneaker culture is phenomenal, especially during the past couple of years where the audience, including the younger generation, are captivated by the trends they see on social media—video sharing platform TikTok being highly responsible for the drastic change in the sneaker scene being highly responsible for the drastic change in the sneaker scene. At this point, people are no longer strangers to collaborations. The line between streetwear and high-end labels have become blurred as we see co-branded offerings like the Dior x Stüssy Fall 2020 collection.
Kim Jones (current director of Dior Homme) allied with Shawn Stussy and his legendary eponymous skatewear brand to add a playful touch to Dior’s Fall 2020 lineup. The offering presented the French luxury house’s signature pieces with Stüssy’s artsy graphics, including the Dior B23 high-top shoes, Dior Saddle Bag, and far more clothing and accessories.
COMME des GARÇONS x Stussy 40th Anniversary
Japanese fashion designer Rei Kawakubo’s label COMME des GARÇONS, also known as CDG, has a strong presence on the streets, much like Stüssy. Both brands are available at Dover Street Market retail stores globally and have collaborated plenty of times in the past for DSM exclusive releases.
On that note, CDG commemorated Stüssy’s 40th anniversary by releasing a co-branded varsity jacket in early 2020. An assortment of clothing then followed much later on for the fall/winter season that featured graphic t-shirts and an MA-1 bomber jacket.
Travis Scott x Nike
The most recent offering from the rapper-slash-fashion icon and Nike includes Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design, making it a three-way collaboration. The Travis Scott x fragment design x Air Jordan 1 High and Air Jordan 1 Low arrives with blue, black, white, and cream colours, with both pairs housing fragment design’s double lightning bolt emblem and Travis Scott’s reverse Swoosh logo and Cactus Jack emoji.
Maison Kitsuné x ADER Error
Last but not least, the Maison Kitsuné x ADER Error collaboration highly deserves a special mention. Joint projects between Korean streetwear brands and international labels are not as present as you think they would be, mainly due to the brand’s popularity. But for Seoul-based streetwear staple ADER Error, who has become notorious worldwide for their bold oversized pieces and their anonymous design team, landing a partnership with the French-Japanese music and fashion imprint Maison Kitsuné is child’s play.
The first collection in 2018 combined signature ADER motifs and Maison Kitsuné’s iconic fox character together. The duo united in 2019 and delivered the Maison Kitsuné x ADER Error “The Blue Fox Family”, then again in 2020 with the “The Bluest Fox” collection. This partnership undeniably opened the door of opportunities for other Korean streetwear brands—the thisisneverthat x New Balance 2002R is a perfect example.
All in all, this list only covers a small bunch, and there are still hundreds of iconic and memorable collaborations out there that deserves praise. So if you do not want to miss out on the best sneaker news, as well as streetwear releases, then I suggest you check back with us here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest!
Syracuse basketball ‘was just the right place,’ new 4-star commit says
Syracuse basketball offered a scholarship to 2022 four-star point guard Quadir Copeland last November, and from what I can tell, the Orange coaching staff has made him a top priority in this cycle ever since.
The 6-foot-6 Copeland, a top-100 prospect across the country in the 2022 class, said on social media earlier this month that he would suit up for the ‘Cuse.
He picked Syracuse basketball over a group of other finalists that included Maryland, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Miami, Penn State, DePaul and La Salle.
For several months now, the chatter among recruiting insiders as well as in Orange chat rooms was that Syracuse basketball appeared to be the front-runner to land Copeland.
Leading up to his commitment announcement on August 10, multiple national analysts on recruiting Web sites had logged predictions for Copeland in the direction of the ‘Cuse.
You never know how this recruiting stuff will ultimately go, but it didn’t surprise me at all when Copeland posted on Instagram and Twitter that his collegiate destination would be the Orange.
Syracuse basketball always stayed in consistent contact with Quadir Copeland.
Throughout his recruiting process, Copeland would talk regularly with ‘Cuse coaches, including his primary recruiter, Syracuse basketball assistant coach Gerry McNamara.
Copeland has said in numerous interviews that loyalty and relationships are important to him, and he told SyracuseOnSI publisher Mike McAllister in a recent interview that McNamara believed in him from the get-go.
“It was really big,” Copeland said. “That’s what I was going on. Relationships and loyalty. G-Mac, he stayed loyal and we stayed connected from the start of my recruitment. No matter the weekends, no matter nothing, it was always about knowing I could play and putting his faith in me.”
Copeland, who will attend the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., during his senior year of high school, has big-time goals for his collegiate career in Central New York. He wants to win a lot of games and deliver a second national championship to head coach Jim Boeheim and the Orange program.
Earlier this summer, Copeland took an official visit to the ‘Cuse, and it went quite well. After Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League culminated with the 2021 Peach Jam tournament a few weeks ago, Copeland told McAllister that he spent some time evaluating “the schools that offered me. Syracuse was just the right place.”
Welcome to Orange Nation, Quadir.

What happened to Runyon Canyon?
Welcome to the new What’s Up … column in which I try my best to educate my New York colleagues about the city of Los Angeles.
Runyon Canyon is a park in Hollywood, California known for its popular walking trails. This popularity is largely due to two factors:
If you ever plan to be in Los Angeles for an extended period of time, be aware that physical activity is probably inevitable. At some point, you will end your class at 10 a.m., hangover, perhaps pissed off, but ultimately be happy with the endorphin release and the promise of a post-workout smoothie. On the subject: You will probably go hiking too.
Although I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and was constantly forced into this activity, I never thought that hiking would become a part of my daily life. But I turned. This is what constant sunlight does to a person.
Hiking is really enjoyable. This makes your heart healthier and allows you to enjoy the fact that it is 77 degrees and sunny five days a week. I have no idea what I have become, but I know my ass looks great.
Los Angeles has many hiking spots, but Runyon Canyon is one of the most scenic of them. It’s right in the middle of the Hollywood Hills and, as I said, celebrities.
As far as I know, the person pictured here is not a celebrity.
However, I will say that the whole celebrity attraction in Los Angeles is a little different. I would say a lot of celebrities go to Runyon Canyon because a lot of people in LA go to Runyon Canyon and there are a lot of celebrities in LA.Cross-contamination is inevitable, as when visiting the Grove. (I will explain Grove another time.)
I was once in Runyon (as it is usually shortened) once or twice to recall this explanation. My friend Rachel (aka Vanderpump Crawl) and I went there around 10am on Friday morning, which she said was a pretty good time to do it.
So yeah, let’s just get out of it: yeah, people in Los Angeles go camping at 10am on Friday morning. In a way, Los Angeles has definitely earned a reputation as a city for the lazy. But in this respect, physical activity is not so. People in general just do what makes sense in warm weather: 80 degrees in January, so why would you not go hiking and then spend all day at the beach?
And, of course, entertainment is the main industry here. Many of these jobs are off their normal nine-to-five schedule. If you’re an actress, or you’ve just sold a script, or you’re a cameraman who works on a late night show and you have nowhere to be at 10am, why not go camping, huh? WHY NOT HELL? (Oh, is it possible that all this thinking about moving from Los Angeles to New York and vice versa got me on the defensive?)
Parking around Runyon is usually pretty tedious, but I succeeded because I am no longer afraid of parallel parking.I rarely hit the curb anymore.
Now when I say Runyon is a “hike,” I mean you are walking uphill on a dusty road. Outside of dirt and air, minimal interaction with nature. Many people travel to Runyon for a serious workout, doing squats on flat areas and running on steep slopes. But there are also people who call themselves Sheerios, so …
You’ll also see the guys running around in these creepy training masks that make them look like Bane from Dark Knight .However, most people are just actively relaxing, which is probably the most accurate description of Los Angeles I’ve ever come up with.
It is physically possible to visit Runyon Canyon on your own, but probably not. Most people are two to four people and all wear trendy sportswear. (When I moved here, my wardrobe was 35 percent sportswear.) Aviators seem to be the glasses of choice. Many men prefer to go shirtless. You are not on a 30-gram carb daytime diet to keep running in a shirt.
You can see the Hollywood sign from Runyon, but here’s an important Los Angeles trick: You can see the Hollywood sign pretty much everywhere on the east side of Los Angeles.
Usually Runyon is the main place to see celebrities. Here’s a short list of the celebrities Rachel saw in Runyon Canyon:
We haven’t watched the Game on this day.Other celebrities go to Runyon Canyon, but for pretty obvious reasons, I was hoping to run into The Game.
We actually see about 50 dogs. Damn dogs are everywhere. Runyon has a very liberal leash policy, which means the dogs are free to run around most of the park, and they fully know this place is theirs.
Look at this fat little prince walking half the way.
Unfortunately, a trip to Runyon Canyon is unrealistic unless you have an Instagram post to back it up.
At the risk of bragging, I have to say that this is pretty cool when it comes to the LA-hike genre of Instagram posts. You can see my Nike logo. I have such a carefree kind of odd job. You see the Los Angeles skyline and the greenery, and those sunbeams clearly resemble Los Angeles, Los Angeles smiling down at me.
When I posted this photo on Instagram with the hashtag #runyoncanyon, I got tons of likes from people I don’t know, who I can only guess found me because of the hashtag and who thought I was one of them …You all seem good, but: absolutely not. Sorry.
If you feel bold and / or in the mood to judge complete strangers, click on the #runyoncanyon tag on Instagram. In a way, you have to admire the shamelessness of it all. Selfie games are shameless and no one hides the fact that they are in it, at least in part, for a moment to post on Instagram.
