Apr 26, 2018
The STX Surgeon Sc-Ti attack shaft has been a favorite of elite college and pro attackmen for nearly a decade. The Surgeon is the perfect combination of weight to strength, due to STX’s signature scandium and titanium blend. This shaft also made our list of The Best Lacrosse Shafts For Attack check it out here!
One of the best improvements made to the Surgeon Sc-Ti is the extreme concave octagon shape which allows your hands to better handle the shaft. Professional players like Sergio Salcido love the Max-Sandblast Zones located at the ends of the shaft which helps get a better grip when taking heavy dodges towards the crease. Most lacrosse shafts with sandblasted grip often make it harder to split dodge and switch hands. Since the Surgeon Sc-Ti grip does not extend down the whole shaft, it makes it easy to slide your hands up and down the shaft as you are switching hands on your way to the net!
The coloring of this shaft is just tremendous. The platinum is one of the coolest looking attack shafts available, giving it a very clean and sleek look. Rather than going for a super flashy, over the top design, STX opted to go for a more traditional looking shaft and they crushed it, all our pros here love the design! The look of this shaft combined with Sci-Ti as well as the feel of the of the Max-Sandblast Zone makes this one of our favorites here to use whether we’re on the field playing or just playing catch in the warehouse!
At only 5.5 ounces this is one of the lightest lacrosse shafts available on our website, while also holding up to the wear and tear of playing at a higher level. If you are a player who has been using carbon composite shafts in the past and is considering making the switch to a metal shaft like the Surgeon Sci-Ti, check out our blog explaining the differences between carbon and metal shafts here!
All in all, the STX Surgeon Sc-Ti is one of the best shafts on the market and definitely lets you hit the field like an elite player. Check out the Surgeon Sc-Ti at Lax.com!

STX Stallion Sc-Ti Review: Shape

How a lacrosse stick feels in your hands depends on the curvature of the handle. The four short corners of the Sc-Ti are softened into a concave octagon shape.
This grip form is incredibly durable and comfortable in your hands. Even when wearing gloves, you will be able to feel the rounded edges to sink your fingers into. When you’re cradling, this will make you feel extremely locked-in and secure.

You’ll be pleased with the handle’s design when you pair it with its sandblasted finish. With this coating, you get a distinct texture that is always noticeable.
In addition to cradling, also when switching hands or lowering your hands to shoot, you’ll be able to tell the difference.
You’ll be able to literally feel the handle swiveling in your hands, as opposed to smooth grips. Without a doubt, this sensation will help you handle your sticks better.

The parts of the shaft that are often most prone to denting can significantly increase their strength thanks to this design.
In essence, material is added to the inside of the every corners where both side of the handle joins. This strengthens these places of contact and greatly increases their resistance to giving way and, consequently, denting.

Between a masterpiece and a failure. Review of the film “Kung Fu Stallion” / Movies and series / iXBT Live
An interesting fact right away. As much as the Russian audience loved the new film with Jackie Chan, it was almost as much criticized in the West. But I will not go into a large-scale investigation, I will simply note that the truth is somewhere in the middle. Now we need to add specifics and tell how nostalgic and touching, but at the same time insanely annoying the Kung Fu Stallion project turned out to be.
Before us is a product of Chinese cinema, so apart from Jackie Chan, we won’t see any familiar names. I note that for director and screenwriter Larry Yan, the project may become a ticket to international distribution. I am sure that in the future he will have many stories for viewers from all over the world.
Surely, the action comedy genre is more suitable for advertising films with Jackie Chan, but we are more likely to see a family dramedy. This very screen family for the actor was not only a charming stallion, but also Liu Haoqun, who played the role of the daughter of the protagonist. I will say, I note that Jackie and Liu managed to create a tearful and simply charming and acting duo.
Luo Zhilong (Jackie Chan) is a retired stunt performer and martial artist. The hero is constantly haunted by debts, problems with his daughter and career, so his last consolation is a smart stallion, nicknamed the Light, who has become a real family member for Law. But suddenly, on the threshold of his house, there were cunning guys in jackets, claiming that, according to the law, the Light belongs to them.
The hero has few options. I have to ask for help from my daughter, who is just finishing law school. With her father’s persuasion and the stallion’s cute eyes, she agrees to help. Since then, not only relations with her daughter have been improving, but a successful career has also returned. But the uncompromising nature of the hero and the mistakes of the past can destroy this idyll and separate him from his loved ones.
The project has both comedic and combat elements, but as you understand, in relatively small volumes. It was another prick in the direction of the promotional campaign of the project, because it cost to advertise it a little differently. This film is a kind of reflection of Jackie Chan’s entire career, which he looks at throughout the film, and the viewer, along with him, nostalgic, smiles and even cries.
The creators made their final bow not only to the stuntmen, but in general to everyone who did not get into the lens, but contributed to the history of Chinese cinema. Other semantic shades work specifically for the family audience. Starting from the most banal – we are responsible for those whom we have tamed, ending with the idea that all our awards and achievements have no meaning if our loved ones are not around.
Back to comedy and staged action. Both of these elements are made mainly according to the laws of the old school. Visual gags and acrobatics of combat scenes are not only the merit of the scriptwriters and directors, but also of Jackie Chan himself, whose undying charisma was transmitted, perhaps, to every member of the film crew.
But when the film begins to skid around corners, it quickly rushes into the ditch. While the movie is still trying to sell itself as a comedy, it’s not uncommon to find horribly drawn-out jokes that are either forgotten to be cut or directed exclusively at an internal audience. But even sadder, almost all the dramatic scenes are dragged out.
Moreover, these scenes are terribly importunate.
