Hello dear readers of this site. We recently came from a trip to Thailand. I would like to share with you my impressions of the Baiyoke Sky hotels in Bangkok and the Central Cottage on Koh Phangan (located in the Gulf of Thailand, just 20 minutes by ferry from Koh Samui).

How to get there?
From Bangkok fly to Koh Samui for 1 hour, from the airport you are taken to the pier (free transfer is included in the price of ferry tickets, which we booked in advance through asiahotels.ru), board the ferry and after 25 minutes of “sailing” you are in Phangan 🙂

Let’s start in order – first about the island of Phangan. We decided to stay at Thong Nai Pan Yai beach, as we found a rating of Koh Phangan beaches on the Internet, and this beach was in the first place.I am happy to say that we have not lost! The beach is located in the northeast of the island, it is a crescent-shaped lagoon with a very picturesque view, white and flour-fine sand and clear water. We booked a transfer from the pier together with the hotel – and at the pier we were met by a driver with a sign with the name of the hotel and our name.

We have booked the Central Cottage hotel. Since the hotel rooms were cheap, we chose the most expensive room available – the Luxury Room ($ 99 per night).It was located in a villa that is divided into two rooms. Each room has its own terrace with sun loungers, table and armchairs. The villa is located right on the beach, so there were 15 steps from the entrance to the room to the sea!
The room itself is spacious, with a large double bed and another single – so you can comfortably accommodate three of us. There is a TV with satellite channels and a DVD player. There is a kettle-boiler, cups-spoons and every day the hotel staff replenishes the supply of tea and coffee, sugar for free.I was very pleased with the new silent Panasonic air conditioner. The room is decorated in Thai style with mahogany wood and paintings with applique on the walls. The sliding doors of the room are glass, and when you open the curtains in the morning, you see in front of you a fantastic panorama of a snow-white beach, a beautiful lagoon, a bright sun … “It’s just heaven!” – I thought every morning, stretching in bed and admiring this splendor.

The hotel has a restaurant overlooking the sea, billiards (free of charge), a pool with a waterfall and a jacuzzi.The hotel has a small shop, but I recommend going to the Starlight Beach Supermarket to the left of the hotel. There is a wide selection of food, drinks, and other things – from beachwear to tanning creams and many Thai souvenirs. Here you can also buy a card for wi-fi internet. There are wi-fi points all over the beach, so in your room you can easily sit with a laptop and go online. The cost of unlimited internet per day is only 199 baht.

Breakfasts at the hotel were monotonous with little choice: vegetables, sausages, fried bacon, scrambled eggs or fried eggs, muesli, pancakes with jam, one kind of cheese, fruit, juices, tea, coffee.Probably due to the fact that the hotel itself is cheap, the breakfasts also did not shine with variety.

A total of 11 hotels are located in this bay, there are many beach restaurants, shops, travel agencies, and a diving school. You can eat at a new restaurant every time, especially I recommend the Dolphin restaurant – it is located on the right side of the bay, if you walk from our hotel. They make wonderful steaks, delicious cocktails and the owner of the restaurant is just darling!
On the one hand, rest here is very relaxing – there are never crowds of people on the beach, you can relax all day and no one from the obsessive merchants will bother you.On the other hand, there is all the necessary infrastructure for recreation, so as not to feel completely cut off from civilization. If you go up from the hotel to the main road, there are several more café-restaurants and shops. In one of the bars (called Chai ya Bar) live musicians played in the evenings and nights, and not some dull old stuff, but modern energetic rock music. You could sit in a cheerful company of young people and even dance! I scanned a map of the bay – all hotels, restaurants, bars and shops are marked on it.Maybe someone will be useful.
Across the stone promontory that encloses our beach on the right, there is another bay – Tong Nai Pan Noi. It is very similar to ours; these two bays are even called twin bays. One of the most expensive Panviman hotels, as well as a water park and an observation deck with a restaurant, are located on a stone promontory separating the two beaches. On the other side of the Tong Nai Pan Noi bay is the most expensive hotel in Phangan – Santhiya. For those who want a luxury holiday, these hotels are ideal. We sometimes walked along the main road to the neighboring bay and spent most of the day there.There is also a large selection of restaurants, bars, there are even cozy coffee shops with cake-desserts like cheesecake and truffles, which I just adore! Here you can go surfing, kayaking, and play volleyball. Or you can take an excursion to the neighboring islands with snorkeling for the whole day at one of the travel agencies, and in the morning they will pick you up right from the beach by boat.

After traveling around Koh Phangan, we arrived in Bangkok for two days and booked the tallest hotel in Thailand, the famous Baiyoke Sky Hotel.We chose a Deluxe room in the space zone. When checking in, they asked to give us the highest floor, the smiling girl at the reception, looking at the computer, said that there is a free room in our category on the 73rd floor, but it is for smokers. She also said that there is an Executive Deluxe room on the 72nd floor, which costs $ 20 more. We didn’t want to rent a room for smokers, and then they upgraded the room just like that – for beautiful eyes 🙂 Before we got to the room, we were immediately brought a large plate of fruit and flowers from the hotel.It was so nice! I have never felt such attention to myself.

I liked the room decor very much. In this room, the so-called window was on the entire wall from floor to ceiling, so the view was excellent and the aura in the room was romantic. And how I liked this huge, soft and resilient 3×3 bed! … The bathroom had a separate bathtub and shower. Everything you needed was there – even a disposable razor. For more details about the room furnishings, see my photos! The hotel staff are very nice, kind and welcoming.One head waiter even spoke Russian to us. The room was cleaned 2 times a day: once in the morning, and the second in the evening – they even straightened our bed and left flowers on the pillows.

Breakfasts are generally made there for slaughter. Believe it or not, the buffet is located around the entire perimeter of the floor! You walk, walk, walk along this table, but it does not end! There is everything you can imagine: 3 types of freshly squeezed juices + 1 multifruit, a large number of fresh fruits, Japanese cuisine, Chinese cuisine, Indian and European, of course… Although in the morning not everyone will get it all. Although our compatriots gorged themselves all day. They even have our favorite borscht. We were, frankly, in a pleasant shock, because we had never seen so much food in any other hotel in the world.

We climbed to the observation deck, with a 360-degree view, the platform rotates and you can, standing in one place, inspect the whole of Bangkok in a few minutes. This is the indescribable state of a bird’s eye view when you are at such a height. 🙂 On the penultimate floor there is the hotel’s own museum: a collection of tuk-tuk, herds of wooden elephant figurines, and much more.One floor below – Sky Bar. The only thing that did not inspire enthusiasm, because this bar, frankly, already needs renovation. We were told that this skyscraper was commissioned sometime in 2000 and therefore is no longer the first freshness. Although we have already done a major overhaul in the rooms (our room was like new!), But we have not yet reached the bar. I liked going down on a high-speed glass elevator – at first it is breathtaking, like on a roller coaster, there is even a feeling of free falling, and then you get a thrill from such a flight.The hotel has a paid Wi-Fi Internet (you have to buy a card at the reception), but we successfully tried to catch some free network on a laptop and used it for two days.

There was absolutely no time to visit the pool, fitness center and spa at the hotel, although we were presented with coupons for free massage sessions upon arrival. Two days passed unnoticed and in the morning I had to fly away … I really wanted to stay again!
I liked the rest in Phangan and Bangkok, and now I will recommend to all my friends to choose this island for a vacation in Tae, and not Phuket or Samui, which are teeming with Russian tourists.My thanks to everyone who wrote reviews about this island, which helped me and my young man to make our choice, as well as the site asiahotels.ru, through which we booked both hotels cheaply.
