I have almost zero experience with Nike lacrosse equipment so I was excited to get my hands on this head. With zero experience when it comes to Nike lacrosse heads, I am completely un-biased to the big brand name that is Nike and thus, I focused 100% on the performance of the head.
Nike has been slowly getting its foot in the door of the lacrosse industry for a couple of years now, and I think the explosion in popularity of the Lakota head is what helped the brand really get exposure. Now with the CEO U, I’m hoping there is nowhere to go but up. Let’s get down to brass tax.
Appearance: +10.0
One of the first things I look at when looking at what head I want to use is the shape. I tend to avoid heads that gradually get wider towards the scoop. With the Nike CEO U you can see that it has a longer throat portion of the stick then it sharply widens towards the top of the head. Also who doesn’t love volt? With the combination of a great shape and the volt color, this Nike CEO U has to get a 2.0 on Appearance. It’s an aggressive looking lacrosse head.
Stringing: +10.0
As a self-proclaimed stringer, I always look for the head with the most stringing holes. With 8 holes on the scoop, you could easily string up a traditional, or any top string you can think of. As you can see in the picture above, there are an immense amount of sidewall holes, so it’s a stringer’s dream. The possibilities are endless with this head,and you can string it however you would like. I strung this with ease because of all the different options.
Stiffness: +3.0
When I was first stringing up this Nike CEO U, I was working on the sidewall interlocks, and I pulled the sidewall string as tight as possible and it felt like the head almost folded in half. This is one of the most, if not THE most, flexible head I have used. I found myself straightening the head a lot after ground ball scrums and what not. I would avoid this head if I were a FOGO or defense man, but since I play attack, I found it be fantastic.
Durability: +7.5
To truly test the durability of a head I think it needs to experience an entire lacrosse season. Since it is the off season I have just been beating the crap out of this head to simulate the season. I have smashed this head over steel beams, poke checked trees, tried to bend it beyond belief, and played a couple fall ball games and practices with it. And through all that, it has help up wondrously. The fact that this head is so flexible adds to its durability, in my opinion. It gives when under a ton of pressure. I was very impressed. This head is the Gumby of lacrosse heads.
Value: +7.5
The price of the Nike CEO U is right on the average of what lacrosse heads are costing in today’s market, $84. 99. If you are looking for a new head on the market and you find one under $100, it is a great deal. I haven’t seen a top of the line lacrosse head released with a price of lower than $95 in a very long time. So at $85 the Nike CEO U is a pretty fantastic all around head for an offensive player.

Overall this lacrosse head performed fantastically for an offensive player like myself. I would NOT recommend it whatsoever for a defenseman or a FOGO. It is definitely an offensive head made for attack or offensive middies. I say this because of how flexible the head is… it will simply warp way too fast if used for defense or face offs. The shape of the head also favors an offensive player, it is not wide by any means, which is what most defensive players look for in a lacrosse head. But if you like to score goals, and have some attention drawn to you by the volt color, the Nike CEO U is the head for you!
Nike Executive Resigns Over Possible Ties to Sneaker Resale Business
A longtime top executive at Nike resigned amid questions about possible ties to her son’s sneaker resale business and whether he used a credit card in her name for the company.
Ann Hebert, the vice president and general manager of Nike’s North America division, “departed” from the company on Monday, Nike said in a statement.
In its statement, Nike said it would announce a replacement for her soon. Ms. Hebert, who had been with the company for more than 25 years, had made the decision to resign, the company said in an email.
Her resignation came a week after Bloomberg Businessweek published an article on the rise of West Coast Streetwear, a company that buys and resells limited editions of sneakers and clothing. Ms. Hebert could not immediately be reached for comment.
West Coast Streetwear is owned by Ms. Hebert’s son, Joe Hebert, 19, who buys large amounts of highly sought footwear, such as Yeezys and Jordans, for resale at higher prices. The purchases are completed using computer programs like Cybersole, which are designed to increase opportunities to buy limited edition apparel from hundreds of retail stores that often set purchase limits. The article said that at one point Mr. Hebert and his team had spent $132,000 on hundreds of shoes and was able to resell them for a $20,000 profit.
The article also described a statement for an American Express corporate card that was in Ms. Hebert’s name and shared with Bloomberg Businessweek to illustrate the resale company’s revenue.
In the article, Mr. Hebert acknowledged that the Nike executive was his mother and said that she had inspired him as a businessman. But he said that her position at Nike was removed from his work and that she did not provide him with inside information.
Neither Mr. Hebert nor West Coast Streetwear responded to requests for comment on Tuesday. While a website for the company was down on Tuesday morning, Mr. Hebert’s Instagram account showed images of Yeezy, Jordan and other brand shoe boxes, some stacked and others scattered in what appears to be a warehouse.
Ms. Hebert was promoted to her role as vice president and general manager of the company’s North America division last April, and she oversaw sales, marketing, merchandising and other areas, according to a statement.
A spokeswoman for Nike told Bloomberg Businessweek that Ms. Hebert had shared information about West Coast Streetwear with the company in 2018 and Nike had advised that there was no violation of company policy or conflicts of interest at the time. Nike did not immediately reply to questions about its knowledge of West Coast Streetwear.
Sneaker swapping and reselling has been popular since at least the 1990s but has experienced a boom in recent years as demand for collectible shoes and streetwear has climbed. The increase in business comes in part from so-called sneakerheads, customers who see the items as investment assets. Major fashion brands have also caught on, buying stakes in resale shops like Stadium Goods.
Hard-to-find models can sell for hundreds or tens of thousands of dollars. For instance, a pair of Air Yeezy “Red October” shoes can sell for over $15,000, depending on the size.
Managing the supply of certain shoes while demand for them skyrockets keeps buyers coming back, said John Kernan, a research analyst at Cowen, an investment banking company.
While some industries have suffered or shuttered because of the coronavirus pandemic, the sneaker and streetwear markets, both primary and resale, have thrived, according to a 2020 report from Cowen.
The firm estimates the current market is at $2 billion with projections to reach $30 billion by 2030.
Nike Team named Exclusive Performance Apparel Partner of U SPORTS — Vanier Cup — U SPORTS
U SPORTS, the national brand of university sports in Canada, announced Friday that Nike Team has been named its new exclusive performance apparel partner. The five-year agreement begins immediately.
Through national team distributor T. Litzen Sports, the partnership will see Nike Team become the primary apparel supplier of U SPORTS-branded programs, including all 21 national championships, the men’s and women’s hockey all-star teams and Canadian delegations competing at the FISU Winter and Summer Universiades.

In August, the Nike Merlin ball was announced as the official soccer ball of the U SPORTS Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships until 2023.

The WeLoveU Foundation is an international NGO associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications [UN DGC]. May 27, 2021: Mizuno has unveiled its latest footwear style ahead of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race: the Peachtree 52nd Wave Rider running shoe. May 17, 2021: Veja has teamed up with non-profit A Second U Foundation for a New York-based running club. A Second U Foundation is an organization that that gives formerly incarcerated people a second chance by training them for jobs in the fitness industry so they aren’t defined by their sentence or their charge. Their trainers will lead the Veja-sponsored running club, which officially launched over the weekend in New York City. The club is free of charge for participants.
