Great location, old rooms and no breakfast

Let me offer you my most sincere apologies. At Sofitel Hotels & Resorts, we strive to offer the highest level of service to each and every one of our guests. Therefore, your feedback is very important to us. Rest assured that all necessary measures will be taken to ensure that this does not happen again in the future. Sofitel New York, so so
Decent hotel, but a very far cry from the Sofitel St James and Heathrow. Nice public spaces. The bathroom was the best part of a small room. Staff were helpful and friendly all round, but breakfast staff really excelled. No hot water on the last day due to works in the area was inconvenient and the hotel made no effort to make it less so.
Andreeves, we appreciate your feedback. We strive to offer our guests quality service and comfort. However, its unfortunate that your stay with us was anything less than perfect. Wed love to see you again in the future to share a more positive experience with you.
Overpriced, substandard services and in need of a remodel
The furniture is dinged up, the wifi is slow, the room service ends at 9:30pm and they have the nerve to charge over $500/night. Overall, this hotel is dated and badly needs a remodel. There are many other choices that are better and much better value for your $.
G8139CDtomd, we appreciate your feedback. We strive to offer our guests quality service and comfort. However, its unfortunate that your stay with us was anything less than ideal. Wed love to see you again in the future to share a more positive experience with you
Great hotel with some minor quibbles
This is my go-to hotel in NYC, mainly because the location is great, the rooms are blissfully quiet, and the staff is excellent. So I highly recommend it. First, I’m so happy the restaurant is open again for breakfast and dinner. The people who work at the restaurant and bar are all awesome, and a big part of why I love to stay here. Also, the bellmen are great, front desk people are great. The staff here is always super friendly and helpful. Again, they are a big part of why I always stay at the Sofitel. I’ll include some minor complaints about the property management in general… – The AC in the rooms has been diminished to the point where it does almost nothing. I remember 5 years ago, the AC was awesome, and you could cool the room off. This time, I had it running on max fan with minimum temp, and it was doing nothing at all, the room was still warm. I ended up opening the small window at night to try to cool the room off a little, but then you get traffic/city noise. I know you’re trying to save energy, but this is not good for a luxury hotel. Please give back some control over AC. – The bar closes at 9:thirty. I know business is slow post-pandemic, but 9:30? In NYC? I stayed at the Washington DC Sofitel, and even their bar was open til 10:00, and Washington is not a late night city. – You used to have beautiful art deco paintings in the elevators of the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Eiffel Tower, and Arc de Triomphe. You replaced them with a cheesy photo of Sarah Jessica Parker. Really? Who thought this was a good idea? – I loved having France-Amerique magazines in the room and lobby. You replaced them with Vogue and Wine Spectators. Please go back to France-Amerique.
Bonjour, BillGibson1! Thank you for the lovely review! Were delighted you had a pleasant time at Sofitel New York and that you appreciated our prime location, quiet rooms and friendly staff. Your feedback regarding our temperature control system, dining options and decor is helpful and will be addressed by our team moving forward. A bientôt, we look forward to hosting you again soon for another great experience!
Location Location Location – Quiet hotel with great location.
This is a nice private hotel where you are so close to everything. It has a bar/restaurant as part of this but the main selling points to this hotel are 1) Location 2) Quiet 3) Rooms are just right. Did not have any breakfast here as located to so many places nearby, went to those instead. Enjoyable time here and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Bonjour, go728! Thank you for the lovely review! Were delighted you had a pleasant time at Sofitel New York and that you apprecaited our prime location, quiet atmosphere and great rooms. Mercy beaucoup! A bientôt, we look forward to hosting you again soon for another great experience!
