Plumbing and electrical companies navigate necessity and safety
“There are some jobs we just don’t do because it’s not a job that has to be done,” said Mike Gee, owner of MAACKE Heating and Plumbing. “I find that most of my work – if we go into a house – we pretty much have to go into it because it has to do with people’s utilities and their house. But let’s say somebody wants to upgrade something, maybe we can wait on that. It’s a daily thing. Every day the decision kind of varies depending on what we are doing.”
Since the coronavirus pandemic first hit North Dakota on March 11, Gov. Doug Burgum has ordered the closures of entertainment venues, schools, recreational facilities, onsite dining options at restaurants and other “non-essential businesses.” Gee’s company and Jamestown’s Advantage Electric are among those deemed “essential” and remain open at this time. While doors are open and business is still kicking, Gee said he and his employees are now very aware of the dangers facing the jobs at hand.
“Before we go to somebody’s house we are asking folks how they are feeling, where they have been,” Gee said. “Some people do request us to wear a mask to come in their house and we are just being a little more adamant about keeping our hands clean and we try to not touch anything but what we have to. That’s been one of the biggest things I have noticed. ”
As of April 23, there have been 709 positive cases of COVID-19 and 269 people have fully recovered and no longer contagious. Of the 709 cases, 65 people were hospitalized and 18 still remain in hospital care. North Dakota health care professionals have conducted 16,330 COVID-19 screenings to date. The death toll in North Dakota has risen to 15 To prevent the spread of the virus Gee has adopted methods of insuring his employees’ and patrons’ safety.
“We are just practicing open communication with our customers just to kind of see where everybody’s at,” Gee said. “I guess basically it’s a comfort level – whether or not people want us in their house. We have had jobs where people say ‘we would prefer you not come into our house right now.'”
There have been three cases of the coronavirus reported in Stutsman County as of April 23. The state’s leader, Cass County, has reported 290 positive cases while Burleigh County has tapped into the second spot with 162. With increasing case numbers in the area, Gee said he and his team are now practicing discretion even before entering a home.
“If we go to a house where we can obviously see that somebody’s sick we don’t go into that house,” Gee said. “I can say that since this all started people are very conscious about how they are feeling (and) where they are at. People are actually happy that you are asking them questions.”
Advantage Electric co-owner Jon Perkins agreed with Gee and is conducting similar interviews with his clientele – making sure there is no past or present illness in the home. Perkins said residential calls made up approximately 20% to 25% of his business prior to the outbreak. At this time the company is primarily working with new construction and maintenance.
“A lot of our work is outside, we’re typically not around a lot of people,” Perkins said. “A lot of our in-home stuff has kind of been put on hold. We get a lot of people not wanting us to come to their house. We always push our people to practice good hygiene and be clean, clean up after themselves, wash their hands and stuff like that.”
Perkins said the residential electrical work is still hovering close to the 20% mark of his business. Even with a decreased number of service calls business is holding steady for Perkins and Gee at this time. Gee said if needed there are programs available to his business to help keep things afloat financially. Neither business has seen a reduction in staff at this time.
“Some things you need and some things are more of a luxury,” Perkins said of the difference between essential and non-essential businesses. “Being a specialty field you just do a lot of things that people just can’t do by themselves. We’re doing pretty good. We’ve cut back work to just 40 hours per week for the first time in 12 years so that’s kind of new for us but 40 hours a week is better than no hours a week. “

TRAP FOR TWO
1. City
The first thing Valka saw when he woke up was a house. Huge, tall and wide, stretching to the sides and up as far as the eye could see. For half a minute Valka stared at him, dumbfounded, trying to figure out where the house came from, why exactly the house, why exactly here, and in general what the hell. I stubbornly failed to figure it out. Then Valka closed his eyes and began to persuade himself that he was sleeping.
If a person sees any nonsense, Valka thought lazily, it means that he thinks that he is sleeping. So, at least, it is written in books in which the authors force various poor fellows to see the aforementioned absurdity. Then the poor guy usually does something idiotic, as a result of which he is convinced that he is not sleeping at all. For example, pinching his ass. Valka, without opening his eyes, fumbled for the ass and from the heart performed the desired action.
– Nerd, – Valka diagnosed himself, rubbing the affected area.- It’s good, I didn’t think to go in the face to check. Okay, open our eyes and make sure there is no home.
The house, however, still stood in the same place and still blocked the perspective. Valka swore and in the next moment realized that where the house is from here is not so important, but it is important just where he is from and, in fact, where is “here”. The laziness of thought was suddenly gone, replaced by fear. Valka sat down with a jerk, and a second later jumped to his feet. What he saw turned fear into a burning fear inside.Valka could hardly resist not to yell.
The house stretched along the street into infinity, merging with the horizon in the distance. He supported the sky with a roof. The street was completely straight, narrow and deserted, and on the other side of it was another house, just like the first one. Valka lifted his head and looked at the blue strip of sky, sandwiched between the houses and at the same time running away to nowhere with them. Everything together looked like a pencil case, tied from above with a blue wrapping tape, and he, Valka, who knows how he ended up at the bottom of this pencil case, lined with … the devil, what was lined with? Valka lowered his eyes to the valley.And the hell knows what, he realized a second later. It didn’t look like asphalt, it didn’t look like concrete either, it looked more like plastic or linoleum. A greenish-gray flat surface, Valka shuffled his foot, slightly rough. What the hell is it, after all !?
The realization of what the devil is, immediately came, and the fear experienced hitherto turned into horror. The last thing Valka remembered before he got here was the suburban platform. Nikitich called into the village, promised his own cranberry liqueur and a bathhouse.There were also some other men, either Nikitich’s acquaintances or relatives. The tincture was dealt with quickly, then it was replaced by vodka, followed by moonshine, and they forgot about the bathhouse. Valka hardly drank, did not want to, and did not particularly like this occupation. And then he grabbed one, word for word, almost reaching his hands. Nikitich no longer knitted bast, and Valka, spitting, hastily dressed and went to the exit. Then, slipping and swearing, trotted along a barely discernible path through an endless potato field covered with snow. Finally, he overpowered him and made it to the last train.Trampled on the platform together with some girl in a knitted hat, from under which long dark hair fell on her back. Then a light appeared in the distance, it was rapidly approaching, becoming brighter, and Valka still thought that the train was going too fast, almost flying. And then there was a flash, a pain hit in the eyes, and …
Valka clearly understood what had happened. He did not get on the train. So …
Suddenly released him. The horror was gone, my soul suddenly became light, and even a kind of curiosity appeared.He was clearly pushed off the platform under the wheels. And he, Valka, died. He took and cut an oak tree, there is no other way to explain what is happening. And this cheerful surroundings around, it must be understood, is purgatory. Or what happens after gluing the fins.
“Twice a cretin,” said an inner voice. – Did they give you a sheepskin coat in purgatory?
Only now Valka noticed that he was not at all naked, as any decent deceased should be, but, on the contrary, was dressed in the same outfit in which he jumped out of a leaky village hut.And the sweat that broke through him, it turns out, is not from fear, but simply from the fact that it is hot.
Valka took off his sheepskin coat, pulled off a sweater after her, hid it in his sleeve. He pulled off the earflaps from his head, tamped it in the sleeve after the sweater. I critically examined the insulated boots and, due to the lack of replaceable shoes, decided to endure. He threw the sheepskin coat over his shoulder and yelled that there was strength:
– Is there anyone alive !!!?
For a minute, Valka tore his throat without any success. Then he exhausted himself, threw the sheepskin coat under his feet, sat on it and, staring at the house, began to study it.He was afraid to approach – this house was somehow wrong and radiated a vague threat. Everything was wrong. And in strictly parallel rows of windows cut through an equal distance in the wall. And in the cream-colored rectangles of the panels, the same, without a single chink or pothole. And in black doors driven through every dozen panels.
– Delirium, – said Valka out loud. – Delirium is delusional.
He got up and, fighting fear, decisively moved to the nearest door. I examined it – the door is like a door, single-leaf, black, with a massive silver doorknob on the right.Valka exhaled, squeezed the handle and pulled it towards himself. The door opened – noiselessly, did not even creak, and Valka, pressing his back against the jamb, cautiously peered into the opening. What he saw was so absurd that it overshadowed everything else in the degree of embedded idiocy. There were no stairs, floors, ceilings behind the door. Generally. And there was another street behind it, exactly the same as the previous one, and exactly the same house as the first two, on the other side of it.
This is not a house, Valka realized, it’s just a wall.A senseless, endless wall with useless, awkward full-length windows. Creamy. This is the devilry. And, you must understand, that on the contrary, it is also a wall. Valka trotted across the street, which, as it turned out, turned out to be not a street at all, but a corridor. He opened the same door through which he had just entered, and made sure that the panorama that opened was identical to the two previous ones.
Valka spent the next five minutes, thoughtfully describing what he thinks about who started it all. The entertainer, however, whoever he was, was in no hurry to express himself and did not react to Valkino’s eloquence.When the stock of idioms finally dried up, Valka spat in hearts, angrily threw the long-suffering sheepskin coat on the ground and kicked her heartily. Then he sat down on it and began to think.
2. Trap
So he was trapped. What this trap is, where it came from, and who, Valka, caught him in it, is unknown. How I caught – too, and even more so why. Most of all, the trap looks like a movie set. Pointless scenery for a goofy movie. And Valka, it turns out, is an extra and participates in the crowd scene.Without the crowd itself and without the slightest desire to participate. So, like this: the director threw himself out of the undergrowth. Such a scattered one, perhaps a tough one, and certainly inadequate. Looks – wipes off on the Valka suburban platform, an undoubted find for world cinema. Accordingly, the director records it and – to the point. How it is credited is, again, unknown. Let’s say, hypnotizing, a kind of advanced director, one of the most advanced. And he tells me to take you here and quit. For a better study of the scenery and getting used to the role.

ANOTHER HATE
The woman looks about forty, perhaps a little more. Perceptibly nervous, we define such things right away. And not even by the sharp twitching of the corners of the mouth and not by the trembling in the fingers, but rather by the fluids emanating from her. I make an inviting gesture while nodding toward the chair.
– Hello, doctor, says the visitor.
– I’m not a doctor.
– Sorry.
Well, I forgive. People are used to doctors dealing with their ailments. Including sincere ones. To medicine, however, I have a very distant relationship.
– Nothing, – I say aloud. – Are you sure you’ve come to the right place? Perhaps you should see the nurse on duty. As a rule, women turn to their sisters.
– I came because of my son. He … Excuse me, what should I call you? You see, I’m uncomfortable …
I understand. Of course, calling me a vampire is uncomfortable for her.They are all uncomfortable.
– My name is Brother Archibald.
I was once called Arthur. In childhood. That was my mother’s name. And also Arthurka and Artik. Long ago, before I discovered vampiric abilities and I joined the brotherhood, becoming Archibald. For sisters and brothers – Archie. Sometimes I hate this name.
– Thank you, Brother Archibald. Will you … will you help me?
Here it is again. Even before you bring it up to date. Well, this is familiar to me. The last chance, when all others are exhausted, is to turn to the vampire.Through myself, through “I can not.”
– Are you familiar with our rules?
– Yes, – says the visitor quietly, barely audible. – I know the rules.
“The vampire has the right to refuse a deal without giving any reason. The vampire has the right to demand as compensation whatever price he wishes. In fulfilling the terms of the deal, the vampire is not obliged to comply with the norms of ethics and generally accepted morality. ”
Three rules of the vampire. Become the talk of the town when it comes to us. I often wonder which one of them hates us the most.
– I’m listening to you.
– The boy’s name is Alexey, Lyosha, – the visitor’s face turns pale, her voice trembles. – He, you know … He is the only one with me. Fatherless, I gave everything to him. I …
– Please, only on business, – I interrupt. – My time is limited and expensive. Extremely expensive.
“I have money,” she says quickly. – Not too much. But I will give everything I have.
– Ok, go on.
– Lyosha … He is now nineteen. He fell in love. Long ago, more than a year ago, – tears appear in the eyes of a visitor.“I don’t know how to tell you that.
– Speak as is.
– She is a prostitute, – the woman ceases to hold back, tears run down her cheeks. – Professional. As it is called now – an escort service. Beautiful, calculating rubbish. She mocks him, mocks him, makes him watch her … well, you know. With others, with clients. Lyoshenka is a pure boy, unspoiled, from this … You have no idea what’s going on. He does not sleep at night, does not eat. A month ago, he took sleeping pills, the doctors barely pulled him out.And yesterday he told me that he had finally decided. Doesn’t want to live anymore. Here are the photos, take a look. It’s him.
The boy in the pictures is skinny and vykhrast, with clear gray eyes on a narrow cheekbone face.
– Will you help me, Brother Archibald?
“Okay,” I say. – It will cost twenty-five thousand. Dollars.
– I have not, – the woman turns pale, her eyes freeze. – I don’t have that kind of money. It won’t be that much, even if I sell everything. Even if … Brother Archibald, I beg you, I beg you.I will give it back. I will pay, I swear, I will write a receipt. I will give you everything. I …
– We do not work on debt. Sorry. Tomorrow another brother will be on duty, you can contact him. Or to my sister. You may be able to find a better price. Only, I think it’s unlikely.
– I have already addressed, – the woman gets up. – I was told that if you do not take, then no one will.
– Who Said?
– Brother Harold. Brother Oscar. Sister Victoria. Sister … sorry.
Slouching, she heads for the door.I look after her.
– How many do you have? – I throw it in the back.
– Ten thousand, – she turns around, her voice trembles. – Maybe twelve, if you sell everything that you have not yet had time to. I can borrow, I will be lent, I never cheated. Three to five thousand more. I’ll borrow it on my word of honor. They will believe me, me …
– Okay, – I get up. – Is the boy home now?
– Yes. He is at home all the time. The institute dropped out. Sits, waiting for this call.
– Okay, let’s go. Tell the boy that I am your friend, let him be a psychologist.

90,000 The guy lived on Harry Styles’s routine for a week. Heavy duty
The guy decided to improve his lifestyle by trying out the daily routine of singer Harry Styles. Meditation and diet seem to be worth the effort, but the experimenter has a couple of complaints about exercise. Well, the presence of small children in the house will turn such an experience into an impossible quest.
Mike G, a video editor for BuzzFeed, recounted how he lived a week by British actor and singer Harry Styles. It was this schedule that the musician used during the quarantine so as not to lose shape. Mike wanted to test how different his lifestyle was from this program and whether such an experience would affect his general condition.
Source: Instagram
In quarantine, Harry Styles made the following schedule for himself: meditation in the morning, coffee and light reading, jogging, some work, playing musical instruments, walking and meditation in the evening.Mike completed the first point and was pleased with the result.
It is very calming, mentally preparing for the upcoming day, and I feel as if it energized me in a strange way and relaxed me at the same time, – the guy shared his experience in his video.
Harry Styles drinks coffee with butter, because this drink is nutritious and gives strength for the whole day. The singer is also a pescetarian, that is, he does not eat meat, but eats seafood, so Mike made an appropriate diet for himself.
But already at the stage of playing the instruments, the guy realized what was the difference between his and Harry Styles’s life. The musician has no children who would prevent him from doing things from the list. Mike has a little daughter, and the baby loves to spend time with her father. As a result, almost every stage was not complete without the participation of a crumb.
The baby does not let her father read the book
Also, the guy was jogging in the morning for a week, sometimes replacing the street with an exercise bike when his knees hurt.The training was pretty hard.
I honestly don’t understand how Harry Styles does this every day. But at least I tried.
After spending a whole week in Stiles’ shoes, Mike confesses that he feels much better. The guy believes that this is the merit of the diet, thanks to which he feels much lighter. His favorite part of the routine was meditation, since it helped to distract himself from responsibilities, including parenting, for five to ten minutes.
A Twitter user shared a similar daily routine in quarantine. True, such productivity was not to everyone’s liking, and people showered the girl with memes about how they actually spend their time in isolation.
However, these lovers of rest within four walls will even less like the daily routine in a Buddhist monastery. The man told how harsh the days in the temple are, and even the military will envy the discipline of the monks.

Who will you entrust your shot at the last second if your life depends on it? Killer List of Best NBA Players in Endings – Don’t Play Basketball – Blogs
Michael, Steph, LeBron, Kobe or anyone else?
Tense endings are an essential part of any game sport.The ability to surpass an opponent in a limited time period, when any mistake promises defeat, determines, if not the level of an athlete’s general skill, then at least the strength of his character.
In basketball, as in many other sports, these decisive moments are called a clutch. Officially, the NBA defines a clutch as a situation in which the difference in the score between the teams is no more than five points, and the time until the end of the meeting is no more than five minutes.
Someone thinks that five minutes is too much and counts only the last two.This is what the Bleacher Report recently did when compiling its own ranking of the best NBA players in the 21st century by playing in the endings. In addition to the time limit, Bleacher also only counted hits that either equalized the score or put the team forward. The most clutch player in this version was LeBron James, the second place was taken by Damian Lillard, Kobe Bryant also got into the top three. More details – here.
But we’ll go ahead and check who is the deadliest player in the last second of the match.Yes, our restrictions are much stricter: a basketball player must hit the basket (or miss) when there is one second or less before the end of playing time, until the ball hits after the final siren (the NBA calls such throws buzz beaters). The “cost” of the attempt is the same as that of the Bleacher Report: the throw must be able to either level the score or take the performer’s team forward. Attempts from both the regular season and the playoffs are counted. A small limitation: to get into the rating, a player must have at least 10 attempts.All data is provided by stathead.com portal.
In reality, we will find out who should be entrusted with a shot in the last second if, in case of defeat, we have to give up our lives.
Unfortunately, such detailed information is available only from the beginning of the 1996/97 season. For example, for Michael Jordan, data will be provided only for four seasons – two years of His airing in Chicago and two more in Washington. For a number of other great players of the past, alas, even such records are missing.But in the field of vision of statisticians completely got the draft class of 1996, from which Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Ray Allen and Steve Nash came to the league.
Who has hit the most decisive throws?
10) Dwyane Wade – 9 out of 47 attempts
9) Ray Allen – 9 out of 33 attempts;
8) Carmelo Anthony – 9 out of 32 attempts;
7) Damian Lillard – 10 out of 48 attempts;
6) Paul Pierce – 10 out of 47 attempts;
5) Vince Carter – 10 out of 37 attempts;
4) Kobe Bryant – 12 out of 52 attempts;
3) Joe Johnson – 12 out of 33 attempts;
2) Rudy Gay – 13 out of 26 attempts;
1) LeBron James – 14 out of 63 attempts.
LeBron’s championship shouldn’t come as a surprise: he just had more opportunities for such throws. But such a high position of Rudy Gay (with an equal number of hits with Bryant Johnson was given an advantage due to fewer attempts) is really a surprise even for many NBA fans. Although Rudy was known as a natural born clutcher 10 years ago: just look at the reaction of a Toronto fan from a 2011 video when he saw the ball in the last attack in the hands of the forward!
Joe Johnson also has a reputation for being an excellent finisher.Former Brooklyn teammate Kevin Garnett even called basketball player Joe Jesus. “Because he may not answer you when you call him, but he will certainly appear when you need him,” explained KG.
Who took the most decisive shots?
10) Kevin Durant – 38 tries, 5 accurate;
9) Kevin Garnett – 38 attempts, 7 accurate;
8) Demar Derozan – 39 attempts, 4 accurate;
7) Jamal Crawford – 39 attempts, 5 accurate;
6) Russell Westbrook – 40 tries, 7 accurate;
5) Dwyane Wade – 47 tries, 9 hits;
4) Paul Pearce – 47 attempts, 10 accurate;
3) Damian Lillard – 48 attempts, 10 accurate;
2) Kobe Bryant – 52 attempts, 12 accurate;
1) LeBron James – 63 attempts, 14 accurate.
Two of the top veterans of recent decades have topped the list of most endgame shooters. We did not expect anything else from them.
Who hit the decisive throws more accurately?
10) Pezha Stoyakovich – 33.3%, 5 out of 15 attempts;
9) Joe Johnson – 36.4%, 12 out of 33 attempts;
8) Gilbert Arenas – 36.8%, 7 out of 19 attempts;
7) Mark Gasol – 38.5%, 5 out of 13 attempts;
6) Luka Doncic – 38.5%, 5 out of 13 attempts;
5) Jerry Stackhouse – 40%, 6 out of 15 tries;
4) Michael Jordan – 42.9%, 6 out of 14 attempts;
3) Hido Turkoglu – 42.9%, 6 out of 14 attempts;
2) Jeff Green – 50%, 7 out of 14 tries;
1) Rudy Gay – 50%, 13 out of 26 tries.
Wow, here’s Jordan! In the final stages of his career, the legendary attacking defender finished much better than most opponents.
Two born snipers from Europe – Stoyakovich and Türkoglu – were also included in the list. European basketball fans are also pleased with the accuracy of 22-year-old Luka Doncic (he is higher than Mark Gasol in the ranking due to the greater number of three-pointers, the same applies to the equality of Hido and Michael).
Well, Rudy Gay is beyond competition! Green still lacks the number of attempts.
Who hit the decisive three-point shots more accurately?
To get into the rating, you must complete at least 5 long-distance attempts.
10) Hido Turkoglu – 30%, 3 out of 10 long-distance attempts;
9) Vince Carter – 30.4%, 7 out of 23 long tries;
8) Sam Cassell – 33.3%, 2 out of 6 long-range attempts;
7) Jerry Stackhouse – 33.3%, 3 out of 9 attempts;
6) Derrick Rose – 33.3%, 3 out of 9 attempts;
5) Gilbert Arenas – 33.3%, 4 out of 12 attempts;
4) Luka Doncic – 38.5%, 5 out of 13 attempts;
3) Oh Jay Mayo – 40%, 2 out of 5 attempts;
2) Michael Jordan – 40%, 2 out of 5 tries;
1) Rudy Gay – 50%, 4 out of 8 tries.
Michael Jordan is almost at the top, but inferior to the true greatest – Rudy Gay. Note one more person – UNICS draft O Jay Mayo, now playing in Kazan.
But Stephen Curry is not on this list either. The fact is that the best sniper of our time is not very good at endings: only 4 hits on 16 shots (2 out of 12 three-pointers).
Who has hit the worst decisive shots?
10) Rashard Lewis – 6.3%, 1 out of 16 attempts;

3) Reggie Jackson – 0%, 0 out of 14 attempts;
2) Jason Kidd – 0%, 0 out of 24 attempts;
1) John Wall – 0%, 0 out of 24 attempts.
A list full of surprises. Okay, we remember that Kidd had problems getting the ball into the ring. But here are 24 shots of John Wall … Oh, there is also Reggie Jackson.
In general, what is the list of the worst finalizers without Russell Westbrook (17.5%)? There is one idea though!
How did you hit the decisive shots in the playoffs?
The number of attempts required to qualify has been reduced to 5, otherwise LeBron will remain alone in his own ranking. But we can rank all dozen of basketball players who meet the criterion.

10) Kevin Durant – 16.7%, 1 out of 6 attempts;

2) Damian Lillard – 40%, 2 out of 5 tries;
1) LeBron James – 54.5%, 6 out of 11 attempts.
Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma trio finished in the last three places. But just before the very top, we see recognized snipers: Stockton, Miller and Lillard from his daytime.
