1. Spotlight

Many of us would enjoy some time in the spotlight but in this game being in the spotlight is not a good thing…

HOW TO PLAY:

1. Form a circle. One person stands in the middle holding the flashlight (spotlight).
2. The music starts.
3. The people in the circle start dancing.
4. The spotlight holder shines the light to the dancers. Moving it around so that only one dancer at a time is in the spotlight.
5. The music stops.
6. The dancers stop. The spotlight holder freezes and keeps the light on the dancer that was in the spotlight when the music stopped.
7. Whoever was in the spotlight is out of the game.
8. Continue playing until only one dancer remains.

ALTERNATIVE WAY TO PLAY:

A. Dance moves with no elimination.

The dancer who is in the spotlight when the music stops goes to the center of the circle and shows her best dance moves. Then she will become the next spotlight holder.

1. Form a circle.
2. One dancer goes in the middle and does a dance move.
3. Then she goes back to her spot.
4. The next person goes to the middle and does the first person’s dance move AND a new move.
5. The third dancer does the first two moves and adds another.
6. And so on until the last dancer gets in the middle and has to do everyone’s dance moves.

Optional: If someone does not remember all the dance moves, she is out. Continue until only one person is left.

5. Stay In Your Spotlight

It’s your turn to be in the spotlight…

and make sure you stay in it!

WHAT YOU NEED:

• washi or duct tape
• cardboard or poster board circles (optional)
• music

HOW TO PLAY:

Form teams of two or more people.

Each team needs a designated area “spotlight” to dance in. Make the spotlights by taping cardboard circles on the floor. You could also simply form a circle with a tape.

Make it big enough for the team to dance in but not too big… otherwise it will be too easy.

1. Play music.
2. The dancers dance in their spotlight. They must stay inside their circle or area.
3. Speed up the music. The dancers must speed up their dance moves.
4. If a team member steps out of the spotlight, the team is out. OR that dancer is out.
5. Whichever team is left (or has one member left) in the end wins.

Make the game more challenging by starting out with large spotlights and making them smaller as the game progresses.

6. Musical Dance

It’s like musical chairs without the danger of having a chair pulled out from under you…

WHAT YOU NEED:

• dance styles or moves written on index cards
• music

HOW TO PLAY:

Place the index cards upside down on the floor forming a big circle with them.

1. Start the music.
2. The players dance around the circle of index cards. (Not stepping on the index cards.)
3. Stop the music.
4. The players turn around the index paper that is next to them and do the dance moves written on it.

7. Dance Spots

This one is so much fun!

HOW TO PLAY:

Mark dance spots with tape. If you have five players, make four dance spots in the corners of the game area.

1. One person stands in the middle. The others in the corners. One player in each corner.
2. Everyone starts dancing. You could assign specific moves for each dance spot.
3. The person in the middle will at a random time shout: “change” and everyone runs to a new spot. The person in the middle tries to get to a dance spot too.
4. Whoever is left without a dance spot, goes in the middle.

8. Elimination Dance

If you fit the description you’re out!

WHAT YOU NEED:

• index cards
• paper bag
• music

HOW TO PLAY:

Write down random things on index cards and put them in a paper bag or a hat.

Somethings to write down:

• Whoever is wearing something green.
• Whoever has a braid.
• Whoever is wearing glasses.
• Whoever did push-ups today.
• Whoever has a pink phone case.

1. Start the music.
2. Everyone dances.
3. Pull out an index card and read it. Anyone who fits the description is out.

9. Choreographer

Did you ever want to be a choreographer? Now is your chance!

WHAT YOU NEED:

HOW TO PLAY:

1. Form a line or a couple.
2. One person goes in the front and shows a dance move.
3. Everyone does it together.
4. Another person goes in the front and does another move.
5. Everyone does the first move AND the new one.
6. Keep doing it until everyone gets to come up with a move or two.

10. Dance Corners

Pick a color and hope it won’t be picked!

WHAT YOU NEED:

• 4 different color flags, pieces of paper or tape
• the four colors written on index cards (one color on each card)
• paper bag
• music

HOW TO PLAY:

Mark each corner with a different color.

Put the index cards in a paper bag or a hat.

1. Start the music.
2. The players dance in the middle of the game area.
3. Stop the music.
4. Everyone runs to a corner. Any corner.
5. Pull out an index card and read the name of the color.
6. Everyone standing in that color corner is out.
7. Keep playing until you only have only one player left. (When you have only two players left, they can’t go in the same corner.)

The process of rehabilitation of the visually impaired requires efforts not only on the part of the person himself, but also on the part of his “environment” – society, the state.The work of various specialists is needed to prepare the blind for an independent life in the world of the sighted. This life should be multifaceted, full-blooded, full-fledged. Not only work, but also creativity should be present in the life of every visually impaired person. Dance, as one of the types of creative activity, is an affordable and necessary means of rehabilitation. After all, an adult who has lost his sight has his own life experience and dance and movement therapy can rely on this experience.
The main obstacle to the inclusion of visually impaired people in active creative activity is inadequate perception of their defect.People who have recently lost their eyesight often leave contact with others, become withdrawn, focused on their inner world. Many become isolated in themselves and at the same time become helpless, dependent on loved ones, refuse to struggle with new life difficulties for them. Depressive moods and inadequate self-esteem lead to the inability to overcome the emerging psychological barriers. On the other hand, the views of the sighted about blind people and their capabilities are also often incorrect.Dance movement therapy can help overcome these problems. In group lessons, totally blind people find themselves nearby, in the same circle or paired with visually impaired people. Music and joint movements, games liberate them. The interaction between them turns out to be very useful for both the former and the latter. Dance movement therapy methods involve the visually impaired person in active, joint action with others in an easy, often playful way. Motivation for an active life position develops, a positive attitude is created towards the surrounding reality, towards people, towards oneself.The activity and consciousness of including the visually impaired person in the rehabilitation process increases.
The course “Dance and movement therapy” has been taught at CMSRIZ since 2008. To provide the course, an author’s program was developed, which within two years passed the stage of experimental verification. Eight streams of rehabilitants, sixteen groups were engaged in this program. In 2011, it was approved by the methodological council of the TsMSRIZ, received a positive review from specialists from the Department of Fundamentals of Correctional Pedagogy of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after V.I.A.I. Herzen and was recommended for use in the process of complex medical and social rehabilitation of various categories of visually impaired people.
The course uses traditional forms of dance and movement therapy – exercises and dance games for contact in a pair and a group, various techniques for dance improvisation, mastering simple compositions of pair and group dances. One of the main sections of the program is “Dance Training”. The training helps to develop the maximum ease and freedom of movement available to everyone; creates an attitude, a person’s attitude towards greater responsibility for himself; teaches you to live in accordance with your abilities and capabilities, using them to the fullest and even improve them, compensate for visual defects.Two sets of dance compositions and games have been prepared and used to conduct the “Dance Training” classes. The first complex is “Disco Dances and Dance Games”, the second is “Folk and Ballroom Dances”. Each of them is a methodological recommendation with audio applications – a selection of music files recorded on flash media and audio CDs.
The “Disco Dances and Dance Games” complex is the main part of the first lessons of the course. It is often during the first lessons that the “tightness” of a blind person is removed (“won’t I look funny from the outside?”), The psychological barrier disappears, and anxiety gradually goes away.The main goals of the complex are: emancipation, removal of uncertainty and embarrassment, the acquisition of skills of simple rhythmic and dance movements.

Ballroom dance compositions are composed of basic steps and figures, which are somewhat simplified in terms of technique. For each dance, several compositions have been prepared, which become more complex as the dance experience accumulates and individual figures are studied. Ballroom dances have their own characteristics that must be taken into account by the teacher. In a couple performing dances with progress in the hall (waltzes, foxtrots, tango, samba), at least one of the partners (man or lady) must have a second group of disabilities, since when the couples move in the hall, it is necessary to control the dance line and the movement of other couples …However, some compositions are composed in such a way that they can be performed by pairs of totally blind dancers, sometimes even consisting of two ladies. Compositions of figured waltz, for example, were composed for traditional couples – a man and a lady, and for couples of two ladies, and even for several ladies dancing without men, in a circle in the center of the hall. Moreover, for couples “man and lady”, the compositions take into account the disability group of the performers. For those couples where men have the first group, the dance is performed on the spot, and if the man has sufficient eyesight to navigate the hall, the dance is performed with the movement of the couple along the line of the dance.Since ballroom dance figures are quite complex, it is important to slowly and gradually master new movements. First, you need to study the rhythm of the music – listen, “clap” your hands in it, stomp your feet with an emphasis on different parts of the rhythm. While economists are thinking about what to do with the falling ruble, some Kazan residents are struggling with the “crisis” stress with the help of social dances.Incendiary salsa, romantic bachata or mysterious kizomba attract more and more followers, and it is not so easy to “jump off” the Latin American “needle”. Yana Pototskaya, the founder of the Kazan dance school Yansa, discusses how hot rhythms conquer Russians, whether dancing can destroy a family and how to deal with the common stereotype “a man does not dance”.

– Yana, what kind of “beast” is this – salsa? Where did it come from?

– As we know it, salsa originated in the 1960s and 1970s.Historically, Cuba is a big cauldron of cultures and races: here are the Spanish conquistadors, and slaves from all parts of Africa, and the Cuban natives themselves. Thanks to all this mixing, it turned out that salsa is a sauce that has a slice of every culture. The original Cuban version – salsa casino – is a dance in a circle. Of the instruments, the Cuban musicians only had a clave – two sticks, instead of a drum – a box of oranges, it was called a cajon, maracas made from some kind of coconut, a guitar, a pipe.After the American expansion into Cuba in the 1950s, the world learned about salsa – it ends up in the United States. In America, the styles of Los Angeles and New York appear, the dance becomes linear, salon. He is no longer danced on stones or on the sand, but on the parquet.

– How was it brought to Kazan?

– In 2008, two guys from the States arrived. Both were business translators and danced salsa. Accidentally crossed paths and decided to open a salsa school. Another girl came from St. Petersburg. The Americans brought linear salsa, the Petersburgers brought casino.And so it went.

– Why did this dance take so long to get to Russia?

– I don’t think that under the Soviet Union many of our country had the opportunity to travel to Cuba. Therefore, it was difficult to learn about salsa, even music was simply not available. In the last 10-15 years, people, of course, have begun to travel more, at least the Internet has appeared.

– Why is salsa so popular in Russia? Still, two different cultures.

– This is most likely just a fashion.In general, Russian culture is like a sponge. Why is Cuba taking root? First, we have a lot in common from a historical point of view – in Cuba and now there is socialism. We are similar in gender: both in Russia and in Cuba, strong women who work on an equal basis with men often earn more than they do. In Cuba, it is no accident that they say that a man is in charge of the dance floor – and that’s enough for him. And, of course, a woman at least somewhere wants to feel weak. And dance gives her such an opportunity, makes her feminine, soft.And the worst thing is that then she starts to like it.

“FIVE WEDDINGS IN MY CONSCIENCE”

– They say that learning to dance like the Cubans is basically impossible. They dance from the cradle.

– I think if people really want to immerse themselves in this culture, they can learn to dance like Cubans. To do this, you need not only to practice dancing, but also to read, watch films about Cuba – not necessarily about salsa, study the history, religion of Cubans, study with Cubans, try to understand their mentality, which is, in fact, very close to Russia.They are as emotional as the Russian people. It’s easy for us to communicate! But how much it is worth approaching authenticity in dance – each person decides for himself. When my group gets higher level, I ask: “Guys, are we going to learn African rumba, Orisha dances (Afro-Cuban pagan dances – ed. ) ? It all depends on the desire of the student. Someone goes to dances to get to know someone, to socialize, someone – to get in shape, someone – to learn a new culture.

– About dating. Can you meet your love at dancing?

– I have five weddings on my conscience, that is, I personally brought five couples together. I’m already silent about how many relationships have developed on salsa over the years. Of course, feelings arise, emotions – these are close dances, touches that we do not have in ordinary life. Where do we get in touch with people? Only on the subway, on the bus. Those who drive a car, it happens, in principle, do not communicate much with others. Sometimes you say to such a car enthusiast: get out of the car, at least look at the people.

– A common situation: in a family only the wife wants to dance – the husband has no time or desire. Isn’t it dangerous for the family, because there are so many temptations on the dance floor?

– No, on the contrary. In my practice, there were cases when a couple came to classes – and their relationship improved. But it happens that only the wife or only the husband comes. It happens that the half is jealous.But it is enough just to bring him / her to the party to show – there is nothing wrong with dancing. If you talk like that, how does a man know what his wife does at work, with whom he flirts? As Coco Chanel said: “Never follow a man. Watch yourself – and your man will watch you. ” The same thing – men, go to the gym, show attention to your wife – and no dancing will take her away from you. And then, women and men want to be liked. This is a normal tendency of any person to emphasize their importance not only for their loved one, but also for those around them.Then they feel confident with their beloved. The main thing is to adequately relate to each other’s hobbies.

– In a video, a man told how his wife persuaded him to go to salsa. “Have you seen salsa? He says. “Salsa is a dance where only clothes can save a woman from rape.”

– In fact, in any dance, a person himself sets a comfortable distance for him. Our hands form a frame – and you can simply not let your partner out of this frame.You can always refuse to dance with a person with whom you dislike or do not want to dance. Nobody forces you! You can delicately say: sorry, I don’t want to dance yet, I twisted my leg, got sick – I caught the bacillus … “swine flu”. And do not offend anyone.

“SCHOOL OF SOCIAL DANCE IS NOT A SOCIAL HELP SERVICE”

– How do your students change dances? Maybe they are starting to dress differently?

– Clothing doesn’t really matter.Social dances teach that a person is valuable in himself, and remove the shackles of social differences. It doesn’t matter if the dancer Dolce and Galliano wears or dresses in the Moscow market. It doesn’t matter if you drive a Mercedes or the subway, having paid your last money for a subscription. It does not matter. But what really changes is that people start smiling with their eyes. It happens that a person comes to the first lesson with a completely indifferent gaze, but then comes to life. But a dance school is still not a social protection service, where they help to get up from their knees.Most of the students are ordinary people who just come to dance, find a new hobby.

– How did you get into dancing yourself?

– 8 years ago I met a boy on the Internet. He offered to teach me to dance – I agreed. Two weeks later I started teaching. Now this is no longer possible – the people have grown. And when salsa first appeared, why not?

I graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology.It seems to me that there is not a single area where I could apply myself better. Because without philosophy and psychology, sometimes it is impossible to understand the people who come here. And again, these are social dances. And everything social is connected with society, its diseases, joys. But dances unambiguously remove any fears, complexes, especially those associated with the figure. Not everyone has the opportunity, if not the time, to go to the gym, and at dances it turns out that girls with a dense physique are sometimes more plastic than thin girls.They are often better handled because they worry that they are hard. And in fact, they become more desirable partners, because they believe that they cannot take it outwardly, which means they take it with something else: a smile, goodwill, and inner beauty.

– Can dancing replace the gym?

– In my opinion, this is possible if you approach dance not just as entertainment, but as training.In fact, any gym lover will tell you that you can work your muscles well even with light dumbbells, depending on whether you are pumping a muscle or a dumbbell. If in the classroom you imagine how your muscles become more elastic, tightened, you can really get an effect. And not only emotional, but also physiological. Plus there are parties several times a week. Even if you only go to them on weekends, imagine, on Friday, it is at least 3-4 hours of cardio workout, on Saturday – and even 6.It’s already 10 o’clock! Even in order to just keep your body in good shape, you need certain efforts of the muscles of the back, the press. And during the dance, the arms, and the front-back surface of the thigh, and the calves sway. I was in the gym for 7 years, but I didn’t have so-called “wings” like swimmers, for example. After I “dragged” our girls for a partner, they appeared for me.

– Different dances are taught in your school. Is your biggest love salsa?

– I think you can love every dance.Bachata is tenderness, affection, full disclosure in front of a partner. Salsa is flirting, speed, play, banter with each other. Kizomba is a fusion dance, when a man and a woman are absolutely one. Yes, it can be not only in sex, but also in dance. You need to listen to music, listen to the texts, translate. The same reggaeton – a dance where there are a lot of different shakes, rotations of the chest, hips – this is complete liberation. Lyrics, in our opinion, may not be very decent, but can you call our rap intelligent?

“WHY DO EUROPEANS DON’T LOSE THEIR COUNTRY WHEN DANCING”

– What about social dancing in Europe?

– It’s about the same in Europe.But the average age of the dancers there is a little higher than ours. Probably, young people are doing something else. And then, Europeans begin to travel mainly in retirement, then they begin a busy life. Our retirees cannot afford to come to the dance. In general, in Europe many men are engaged in dancing. They do not have the strange stereotype “a man does not dance”, as we have in Russia. For some reason, Europeans don’t lose their masculinity when they dance.

– And yet why not so many men go to the dances?

– It’s hard to say.In Kazan, for example, there are a lot of athletes, a lot of those who work out in the gym. But a real bodybuilder must have good control over his body, be flexible, otherwise it’s just a pile of muscles. When they understand this, they come to the dances. But many still believe that the dancing man is a guy smeared with hair gel in leggings and heels. But the fact of the matter is that social dancing is practiced in ordinary clothes.

– Is dancing expensive?

– I would not say that dances are called social because they are available to almost everyone.But it also depends on the dance itself. For example, both dresses and tango shoes are expensive. For salsa, bachata, kizomba, reggaeton, nothing specific in clothes and shoes is required at all!

– How profitable is this business now?

– Only the headmaster can make money on dancing. When there are several teachers, good halls, many students. The same restaurant business – they say that it is the most unprofitable, but look how many restaurants are around! For 8 years of the school’s work, we have tried almost all types of advertising, except for billboards: radio, television, newspapers.We made a project with the mayor’s office at the “Chash”. Every week, ordinary passers-by were taught some kind of dance for free, and interesting prizes were raffled off. But even after that, the people did not really go. Word of mouth works most effectively: when our student brings his friends to school. Even contextual advertising does not work out its investment. Maybe now, with the advent of SMM, it has become a little easier.

– In general, there are fewer students in a crisis?

– To some extent this is so.No matter how social the dances are, we still pay taxes, rent is growing – you can’t keep the prices for a subscription on the spot. But those who come, on the contrary, say that dancing helps to cope with the crisis, relieve nervous tension. A person lives in a vicious circle of home-work-home, and suddenly, plunging into another world, where nothing is connected with money, he can become himself again. Probably, people understand that the crisis is eternal and it is better to spend money on a hobby, for example, on dancing – this is self-development, and entertainment, and going beyond the gray reality.

– Is it true that dancing is addictive? Is she dangerous?

– Dependence happens on everything. Addiction to alcohol or computer games is scary. But there are fans of alpine skiing, fans of cars, I, for example, a fan of my Volvo, for me it is almost a person, not a car. This is a hobby, whether it turns into an addiction – the person decides. But if someone replaces real life with his hobby, it’s scary.I think you should spend no more than two years in dancing. During this time, dancing teaches something very important socially, then these “dancing” mechanisms need to be used in real life. Maybe that’s why this business is difficult to develop – people are unlikely to go dancing for decades.

The dance school should be treated as a community of interests. It is a normal desire of any person to belong to a certain group of people. Man is a herd, social being. We are social in the family, at work.Agree, there are not so many hobbies that you can do while locked yourself at home alone – carving in wood and not showing your crafts to anyone? We want to show off our creativity. But what is true is true, during dancing, hormones of joy – endorphins – are released. You really get addicted to this feeling.

Etude (from French etude, literally means study). In the visual arts, a sketch is a work performed by an artist from nature for the purpose of studying it. In music, it is a piece for one instrument, based on a certain technique of performance and intended to develop the technical skill of the performer. In modern theatrical pedagogy, an etude is an exercise that serves to develop and improve acting technique. Consists of various stage actions, improvised or pre-designed by the teacher.

In choreography, sketch work, on the one hand (as in theatrical pedagogy), is aimed at the development and improvement of technique and acting skills, without which it is impossible to perform well a folk stage dance (transmission in expressive body movements, passion and temperament, transition from manner and the characteristic features of the dances of one people to the manners and characteristics of the dances of another – all this requires acting), on the other, it helps to consolidate the acquired knowledge and skills at the machine and in the middle of the hall.

Working on sketches of folk – stage dance, students study the peculiarities of the style, manner and character of various dances much deeper than studying them at the machine. Learning dance sketches, the teacher uses various methods and techniques in his work. The choice of the method depends on the complexity of the structure of the dance etude and the elements included in it. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages, but good results can be achieved by using them together.

Before showing certain dance elements for the first time, the teacher initially uses the verbal method, tells the students about the people who created this dance, their customs, geographical location, which plays an important role, about the costume typical for this people.For example, the Belarusian dance “Bulba” means “potato” in Belarusian. It is known that Belarus is a country where the main agricultural activity is growing potatoes. The Bulba dance shows the viewer the labor process associated with planting, processing and digging up potatoes.

Visual method (or demonstration method) is widely used in teaching – dance movements, postures, transitions. Dance patterns are learned gradually from simple to complex.
– The teacher explains and shows the movements or elements himself, then asks the students to repeat.

Notes on the form of presentation should be concise, clear, logically consistent, since the loss of time for the opposite is not acceptable.Imagery, clarity, the desire to reflect the essence should be inherent in the remarks, the success of the students depends on this to a greater extent.

In the early stages of training, a method of physical influence is needed, namely, it is allowed to correct the students with their hands, establish the body or arm, head or leg in the correct position. This helps them quickly feel the correct execution. In the future, this method should be used in rare cases, developing the students’ ability for independent more accurate execution.

Also in the lesson, such a method is needed as methodological notes that can be addressed to one person (individual) and the whole class at the same time (general). Depending on the place, methodological notes during the lesson can be divided into “preventive”, “incidental”, “urgent”, “final”. “Preventive” notes precede mistakes that one performer or the entire class can make. The teacher makes them, knowing the weaknesses of the students, drawing their attention to what needs to be done, what to avoid or fix.The teacher makes “passing” remarks during the execution of assignments. The duration of the combined exercises and the repetition of the movements should allow this.

“Immediate” remarks are made when a student makes gross mistakes and suspects a suspension of the exercise. “Final” remarks are made after the assignment is completed. In cases where there are few mistakes and they are insignificant, the teacher should mark this as a certain success.
In terms of their content, comments may relate to the technique of performance, musicality, emotional and dance expressiveness, the ability to convey national flavor, etc.d.

The teacher can make comments himself, he can suggest to do it to one of the students. This technique activates the attention of the class, teaches to see the mistakes of comrades and ways to correct them.

Errors can be corrected verbally or through practical demonstration. When making comments, the teacher can use the technique of exaggerated display of incorrect performance, presenting the error in a more visual form, and then, in contrast, show the correct performance of the task.
As you master the choreographic material, it is recommended to use the Method of adding new elements.By complicating the already memorized movement, the teacher develops dexterity in students, as the ability to switch from one movement to another, to change direction or pattern. All this will teach the performers to feel their movements in accordance with the tempo of the music.

Each mastered element must first be developed and complicated, without connecting it with other elements: to complicate the coordination of hands, body and head, to modify the character and manner of its performance, to complicate and diversify its rhythmic pattern.Complicating and improving each individual element, revealing its technical and expressive capabilities, its diversity, students will not only consciously perceive the basic elements of folk dance, but also creatively master them.

Also in pedagogical practice, there is a method of setting a problem, but it is already applied to students of secondary and higher educational institutions, namely, it gives them the task of combining the movements passed at a certain or all stage of training so that they are logically correctly built into a whole dance composition.(In an amateur collective, such experiments are possible in older age groups, but since a large role in training is directed to the collective’s repertoire, this practice is considered unjustified).

At the same time, students of secondary and higher educational institutions should clearly know on the basis of which nationality they make up a combination and not allow mixing of dance vocabulary, and also take into account traditions in the compositional construction of dance when drawing up sketches. Some folk dances are characterized by movement in a circle, others have a linear structure, some are performed only by women, others only by men, there are dances performed by couples and having a certain compositional form, and there are also those where the improvisation of the performers is the most important element of the dance.

Even the simplest dance consists of several combinations of movements, and the dancer must instantly switch from one movement to another, changing the step size, tempo, rhythm, speed, changing the movements themselves in another drawing, perspective, orienting themselves in space. There are concepts such as strength (the ability to overcome resistance or resist it due to muscle tension) and endurance (the ability to maintain performance for a long time, that is, the ability to resist fatigue).The special endurance in choreography combines these qualities.

Techniques for practicing any special type of endurance increase the number of repetitions of movements; increase the intensity of work on the movement; both of these techniques alternate; give ultimate loads.

It is necessary to develop the trainees’ improvisation and imagination, giving, as the elements are mastered, tasks for the independent complication of individual elements, for the composition of dance combinations. Improvisation is an important feature of Russian folk dance, and it is necessary to pay great attention to this throughout the study.

In order to better master the manner of performance, students, each taking into account his individuality, must feel all the nuances of the movement, its character, manner of performance, the originality of the gesture. After all, a gesture is not just a movement of the performer’s body, but, first of all, the movement of his soul, it reflects his inner experiences. It is all these simple movements, performed with the appropriate mood and manner, that give the folk dance both beauty and characteristic local differences.

Thus, by studying dance sketches, the teacher helps to broaden the horizons of students, allows them to learn more about the culture and life of different nations, about folk dances and various features of their performance.Each of the above methods plays a large role in the folk-stage dance lesson, and the correct combination from lesson to lesson helps not only to perform the movements correctly technically, but also to get much closer to the ideal performance of the national style.
