You know the show is an icon when a manual service throws in a ton of money to take streaming rights back from Netflix.
HBO Max did it with friends; Peacock did it with the office. The beloved simulated scenario follows a minute when at the outpost of the Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company in boring Scranton, Pennsylvania. A remake of the British original blade created by Ricky Gervais, the US version softens some of the stings and Steve Carell makes Michael Scott’s boss a little more endearing, if still buffet style. It’s truly an ensemble show though, with memorable twists and turns from John Krasinski, Rein Wilson and Mindy Kalinga.

If you want to look at something that excites joy, we – the ladies of the Party will do it and more. The British comedy turns its attention to an underserved group: Muslim women. And in this case, Muslim women who want to rock! Amina (Anyana Vasan) is a microbiology student who thinks she just wants to get married and settle down. She then takes on the role of lead guitarist in an all-female, all-Muslim band and her ambitions begin to change. The only grip? She has terrible stage fright! We are not only cute, funny and uncompromising ladies of the Party, but also some leg bops.
Warning: songs can live in your head, for free, for quite some time.
Battle Galactica
While the original Battlestar Galactica was created during campus TV, the SyFy version you can watch on Peakok came from an era of prestige TV where politics could meet syphilis in a dystopia where evil silons are sleeping soldiers inside your co-worker. Not only did the Galaxy win by bringing post-9/11 politics into a futuristic battlefield, but its reimagined and gendered version of the Starbuck pilot gave Katee Sackhoff enough room to rule the screen as one of the best examples of a strong female executive in recent history. Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell also received positive reviews for their performances as implacable leaders of this group of people who fled danger, Admiral William Adama and President Laura Roselin.
30 Stone
There’s no party like Liz Lemon’s here! All seven seasons of 30 Rock are available on Peacok (and no longer on Netflix). That means you can watch all the wild, weird and crazy anexies of Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, Jack McBrayer and the one and only Alec Baldwin as the team behind the fictional TGS comedy.
Fey has turned her experience as head writer on Sunday Night Live into a fun show about the show. 30 Rock is your quintessential sitcom, thanks to the poignant and poignant writing and great performances from the entire cast. And he’s gifted us with so many memes, from Lizs, night cheese, to dressing up as Princess Leia, to getting off jury duty.

Friday night lights
Clear vision, full hearts can’t lose… when you can turn on the Friday night lights. The much-deserved drama never got a lot of publicity when it aired on NBC (in fact, the show was in danger of being canceled and moved to DirecTV).
This may be because people saw it as a show about football. But NOS was much more than that – it was about family, class and small town dynamics. In the center, holding everything together, was the best team of all: Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) and Tami Taylor (Conni Britton). Even when the Dillon Panters lost big games, the coach and Mrs Coach always made you feel like a winner.
Saturday Night
For 45 years, Sabbath Night Live has mocked, ridiculed and satirized American culture and politics live every, uh, Saturday night. Sketch comedy has had its ups and downs over the years, but it’s basically an institution at the moment. Can you imagine a world without SNL on TV? Parks and Recreation
Pawnee, Indiana, a fictional city, is the closest we’ll ever get to a live version of The Simpsons’ Springfield. When you enter its borders, you are told: “Good luck with it,” and we agree with that. Just look at the fate of Leslie Knope (Amy Poyler), a brave – some might say too brave – Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation who is fighting to do something in this city. And while Parks and Reck use Knope as an example that good work can be done in local government, the show is thankfully less saccharina than you’d believe.
A phenomenally supportive actor (Rashida Jones, Nick Fopsman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Aziz Ansari and many more) makes him feel alive, which helped him get over his shortcomings in the first season. You’ll be surprised at how strange the people of Pawnee are, as the show’s city hall scenes are amazing, often reinforced by the presence of one Patton Oswalt.
However, Paksa and Reka is Poehler’s show and she has proven to be one of the best.
Top Chef
Rutherford Falls
Rutherford Falls is one of the few shows that has allowed for more indigenous representation on screen, along with Huluuss Reservations Dogs and the new AMC drama Dark Winds. The comedy features local creative footage on and off camera, including Siera co-founder Teller Ornelas (Navaggio) and stars Jana Schmieding (Cheyenne River Lakota Siou) and Michael Greyeyes (Néhyaw from Muskeg Lake Crie Nation). Rutherford Falls follows best friends Nathan Rutherford (Ed Helms) and Reagan Wells (Schimeding) through their careers and love lives. They are also facing big changes to their small town and the Native American reservation on its borders, which have been introduced by casino executive Terry Thomas (Greeyees).
Yellowstone
When Yorkstone first hit the Paramount Network premiere in 2018, it looked like a vanity project for star Kevin Costner.
But since then, “Western” has become one of the biggest TV hits. While new seasons continue to air on cable, Peacok (and not Paramount Plus, due to a prior licensing agreement). Costner is John Dutton, the family patriarch who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. It is close to Yellowstone National Park, which is still a border country. The ranch is under constant threat from land developers, Native American reservations, and conservationists. John and his children fight for their property with every means at their disposal.
Costumes
True to its name, the costumes (and dresses) seen in the legal drama are very sharp, and the work and character are even sharper. The suits are now famous for having included Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex. I’ve been a fan almost from the beginning, triumphant with the fast-fire dialogue, tangled cases, and deep, wacky connections between Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams). The suits paired the week’s procedural affairs with current threads perfectly, like a lingering attraction between Harvey and his secretary Donna (Sarah Rafferty).
And while Markle was great as Paralegalist Rachel Zahn, the real boner in the scene was Rick Hoffman as the outrageously weird Louis Litt. He loved mud baths, relied (perhaps too much) on his therapist, and enjoyed the court’s innermost opponents.
Cheers
Over the years, modern comedy majestic shows have indicated that Cheers is the perfect sitcom, and Peacock is going to give audiences young and old alike to do what we can’t do right now: relax in a bar filled with friends. One of the best workplace shows, Cheers was less about the jesters Sam (Ted Danson) hung on his regulars than the experienced relationship between Sam and Diane (Shelley Long), and the banter between employee Carla (Rhea Perlman) and regular Norm (George Wende) and Cliff (John Ratzenberger). Chiers also helped launch the career of young Woody Harrelson, who played Woody Boyd’s barback without the effort of charisma. The Frasers will also need to be shown cheers to see young (e) Dr. Crane (Kelsey Grammer) and Lilith (Bebe Neuvist).
