Football bags are a very useful piece of equipment in the game of football. While football bags do not necessarily do anything to improve performance or safety, they help keep players and teams organized. Football bags make it easier for players and teams to deal with the many pieces of equipment used on a daily basis.
Football bags come in a variety of different sizes and have multiple functions. The main purpose for using football bags is to store and transport different pieces of football equipment. As is the case with many sports, football has different bags designed specifically to carry pieces of football gear and equipment. However, many football bags can be used for other sports and purposes as well and vice versa.
Not only do bags help store and transport equipment, but they also help protect gear from wear and tear. Football is a game commonly played and practiced outdoors. Football bags will help keep practice equipment, balls, and other items from being ruined by the outdoor elements.
Things To Consider
When looking for a football bag, you’ll want to consider the following:
- What type of football bag do you want?
- How much equipment do you have to store in the bag?
- How much do you want to spend on a football bag?
- To hold a lot of gear
- Easy to carry
- For practice gear
- For game day gear
- To travel with
The different types of football bags include backpacks, duffle bags, and ball bags.
Football backpacks are usually the smallest form of football bag. Like a regular backpack, football backpacks have two straps to be worn over the shoulders with the bag portion resting on your back. While many of these are a similar size to a regular backpack, some will be able to hold a helmet and shoulder pads. Many of them will also have ventilation for wet shoes and padding.
- Very easy to carry
- Can be used for multiple purposes
- Usually ventilated
- Least amount of storage
- Likely won’t fit pads
Duffle bags are another commonly used type of bag for football. These bags are usually larger and more rectangular than backpacks. They will often have hand straps, as well as one shoulder strap. These bags can fit many items and are commonly used during travel for games or tournaments.
- Stores a lot of equipment
- Not too big or difficult to carry
- Usually made with proper ventilation
- Can often be expensive
- Not necessarily as portable as a backpack
While backpacks and duffle bags are mainly used to store and carry personal equipment, ball bags are designed to carry balls. These can either have football-sized compartments in the bag to store individual footballs or simply be one large sack. Bags with individual compartments are better for transporting balls, while other types of ball bags can store more balls and some smaller equipment as well.
- Useful for transporting footballs and smaller equipment
- Often has wheels
- Some types help keep position groups organized
- Can be very large and difficult to transport
- Some are limited to just footballs
The most popular brands that produce football bags include Under Armour, Nike, Champro, and Wilson.
Under Armour is a brand that is known for producing high-quality sports equipment and apparel. They make sports bags that are designed to be used for a wide variety of sports, including football. They make both duffle bags and backpacks, which come in many different sizes and colors.
Nike is one of the largest sports equipment and apparel manufacturers in the world. They make duffle bags that come in a few different sizes at a few different prices. Nike also manufactures backpacks that come in many different colors with college football graphics on them.
Champro makes a wide variety of equipment and protective gear for a variety of different sports. They make duffle bags and backpacks that can be used for personal use. They also make larger duffel bags that can function as ball bags, as well as specifically designed ball bags.
Wilson is another high-quality brand that makes sportswear and equipment for many different sports. The brand makes a backpack that is larger than average and can fit shoulder pads and a helmet. They also make ball bags that can hold 6, 10, or 12 balls at a time.
Football bags are designed to hold almost any type of equipment. Smaller bags such as backpacks can hold items such as gloves, shoes, sleeves, socks, and more. Larger bags can hold shoulder pads and helmets as well. Ball bags are designed to carry footballs specifically, but footballs can be stored in almost any bag as well.
The most important factor in making sure that your football bag doesn’t smell bad is to make sure it has proper ventilation. Ventilation will allow moisture to escape shoes, pads, and wet clothing. Also, try and wash any washable items either before storing in a bag or as soon as a washer is accessible. You can also buy deodorizers which will help eliminate any odors that do stay in the bag.
Football bags will likely range anywhere from $20 to upwards of $100. Ball bags are often more expensive, as well as duffle bags and backpacks made with high-quality materials and ventilation. Many smaller size backpacks and duffle bags that can be used in multiple sports will often be relatively cheap.

10 things every youth football coach needs in his football bag
Preparation is key if you are going to coach youth football this season. Doing things on the fly or improvising rarely works out. Right now, you can either be asking your program to put together a bag with these items in it, or you will need to go online and put one together on your own.
Either way, you can get a jump start on the season now by making sure your football bag is ready.
To carry your gear, start with the largest bag you can find, no smaller than 35 x 25 x 19. Some come on rollers, which work too. With the exception of cones, put each of these items into a mesh bag of their own or pair with other items. If you put all of these items in one big bag, you will have a big mess on your hands and never be able to find anything.
- Cones. Twenty small, three-inch weighted cones. The bigger ones take up too much room. You will need these to mark boundaries and to designate imaginary players during scout time. Don’t go for the light, flat hollow soccer “cones.” Those are hard to see, don’t fit well into bags and blow away in the wind.
- Scrimmage caps. Fifteen colored scrimmage caps. These go over the top of the helmet. You use these during large team drills or scout time when you need to divide your team into opposing groups. These replace those old, cumbersome and sometimes dangerous scrimmage vests that take forever to put on and often seem to find their way around the necks of some players.
- Balls. You should have five, two of which should be new. You can buy blems at a discount if you are tight on your budget.
- Kicking tees. You will need one for kickoffs and a different one for PATs or field goals.
- Hardware kit. You will need a small kit made up of the hardware pieces that are part of the helmet. Buy one of those tiny compartmentalized tackle boxes for $5 and put in several pieces of each part of the hardware and plastic from the helmet in this kit. The kit should also have chinstrap clasps, shoelaces, shoulder pad clips and two shoulder pad straps in it. Also include a pair of pliers. Without this kit, you will have one of those panic moments before a game where one of your players will be on the verge of not playing due to an equipment malfunction.
SEE ALSO: The importance of getting your child’s helmet reconditioned
- Tape and ice bags. These go into the same mesh bag. Start with 10 instant ice packs, the ones that get cold when you squeeze in the middle to cause a chemical reaction. Start with 10 rolls of athletic tape paired with four rolls of pre-tape starter that goes next to the skin.
You will need a mini pump and needle. Balls are always going flat. Your footballs will usually be checked by the referee for correct inflation. These are inexpensive and a must-have.
- Medical kit. You can buy these at any big box retailer. They are less expensive and much easier to use than trying to put one together on your own. Make sure you add a pair of scissors to yours if necessary.
- Equipment odds and ends. These are some items that should be in your miscellaneous bag: five mouth guards, two chin straps, a pant pad kit, helmet ear pads and one game jersey. A player will lose his mouthpiece on the way to a game or practice. It happens. Without a replacement, he won’t be able to play. Every year we play teams that have kids who are missing mouthpieces. They don’t have any extras and we end up providing it to them. Your helmet manufactured, like Riddell, may sell accessories online.
- Wrist coaches. These are invaluable if you choose to use them. The wrist coach is a band that goes around the player’s wrist with a clear plastic compartment. You can put your plays on a piece of paper on the bands and call in a signal that corresponds to a play on the wrist coach which allows your team to go “no huddle.” You can run more plays this way in a game which is great for the kids. You will need one for every player and your coaches as well. They last for a long time. We have some that are going on their ninth year.
Having your own briefcase-like bag also can help you stay organized and on point as well. It should have: clipboard, roster, depth chart, player information (parent contacts and phone numbers), league rules and contact numbers, pens, cheat cards, playbook, drill sheets, sign up forms, cell phone, keys, wallet, permanent black marker, roll of athletic tape and mini whiteboard with markers.
Ask your organization for these items. Often, all you have to do is ask or go to where they store the equipment well before the season starts and piece together a bag of your own. If your organization doesn’t have all of the items, ask them to put it into the budget for next year.
Ask the parents or a sponsor to chip in, but only after itemizing the list out and sharing why you need them. List each item out and its price. Either get donations for the item or ask the parents to buy the items themselves. Often, a parent will donate when they see that the specific item they paid for is being used on the field. We do this when we have hit our budget limitations or when an unexpected event creates a need–like having one of your practice dummies rip in half.
Having a well put together coaching bag put together well before the season starts will lessen the stress all coaches face during those first few weeks of practice and in pregame. Less stress for you and your coaches means a better experience for your players and that is our goal.

How to Add Extra Padding to Backpack Shoulder Straps
Have you bought a backpack, only to discover that the shoulder straps made your shoulders sore or rub you the wrong way? I’ve certainly owned a few backpacks that needed some extra padding on the shoulder straps.
While you can stuff socks or clothing under your straps for temporary relief or wrap foam pipe insulation around them, I prefer a more permanent and cleaner-looking solution. Here are a few alternative methods that I’ve used to address this issue, from simple hacks to ones that require a little sewing.
Fleece Wrap w/ Safety PinsSafety pins and some fleece can work as a test
Take a piece of fleece, wrap it around a shoulder strap, and use safety pins to secure it. You can cut fleece from retired clothing, or buy a piece at Walmart or fabric store. It doesn’t need to be a fancy brand name fleece. You could replace the safety pins with some quick and dirty hand sewing if you find fleece to be a reasonable solution.
Fleece Wrap w/ Sewing MachineShoulder straps with fleece padding
If you have a backpack with adjustable length shoulder pads that connect it to your pack with a webbing strap and buckle, it’s pretty simple to slide a fleece tube onto your straps.
Measure the distance from the top of the strap to the sternum buckle, which will determine the length that the padding needs to be. Then measure the circumference of the shoulder strap with a flexible measuring tape at its widest point. Add ½” to this measurement for a seam allowance. For example, if you measure around your straps and get 6”, add ½” to this. If you determine that you need them 12” long, then you would cut a rectangle that is 12” by 6 ½”. Fold the fabric lengthwise. Stitch the edges together with a ¼” seam allowance. This will result in a fabric tube. For a clean finish, you can turn the tube inside out so that the unfinished edges don’t show. (Shoulder straps w/ fleece padding picture) Slide your tube onto the strap then re-attach the webbing to the strap buckle.
If you can’t get the strap through the buckle or the bottom of the shoulder strap is sewn onto the pack and won’t come off, you’ll have to sew the fleece while it’s wrapped around the strap. This is can be a little awkward, but it’s not a showstopper.
Spacer Mesh w/ Sewing MachineShoulder straps with spacer mesh padding
I’ve found that 1/4″ Spacer Mesh (sold at Ripstop by the Roll) is superior to fleece for padding because it maintains its cushion longer over time and picks up less dirt. This material is used by pack manufacturers for breathable, padded areas on backpacks. It comes in 60” width and is sold by the linear foot. I found that 12” was enough for my project.Oversewing the edges to prevent fraying
However, you will want to overstitch the edges on the top and bottom of the tube so that the fabric doesn’t fray or stretch out. Fleece does not need this treatment.

Packers Carry-In Policy | Green Bay Packers – packers.com
Carry-In Policy & Security
Police officers are stationed at each entrance gate to ensure your safety while visiting Lambeau Field. You and your belongings may be searched upon entry into the stadium. If you elect not to consent to being searched, you will be denied entry. Please be aware that carry-in policies may be modified from game to game as security levels change, and items permitted into the stadium may be determined at the discretion of each officer. Firearms and other weapons, bags, backpacks, coolers, strollers, umbrellas, duffel bags, large purses, fanny packs, obstructive banners and signs are all strictly prohibited, as are food & beverages, noisemakers of any kind, selfie sticks, video cameras and still photo cameras with lenses over 12 inches. As a general rule, please leave all unnecessary items at home.
Fans will be allowed to carry in a clear bag that does not exceed 12 x 6 x 12 inches or a one-gallon, clear plastic bag. Additional clothing, blankets, etc. are allowed if carried in loosely or in an approved clear bag. Small clutch purses the size of a woman’s hand, measuring no larger than 4.5 x 6.5 inches are permitted, but subject to search. Small cameras, binoculars and cell phones are acceptable if carried in loosely or in an approved clear bag. Traditional stadium seats with backs and seat pads are permitted as long as they do not exceed 18 inches wide and contain no pockets, zippers or concealable areas. Oversized seats and/or seats with arm rests or other attachments are not allowed. Prohibited items must be returned to your vehicle or they will be confiscated and discarded.
Regarding Wisconsin’s concealed carry law now in effect, the Packers, as occupant of Lambeau Field, will continue our no weapons policy and prohibit carrying firearms or other weapons on the property, including the parking lot.
Additionally, all fans entering Lambeau Field on gamedays will use walk-through metal detectors.
Unlike the screening machines at airports, guests are asked to not remove any jackets, belts, coins, keys, wallets, watches, or other objects of similar size. Guests will instead be asked only to remove cell phones, cameras, tablets and other large metal objects and place these items in an extended tray alongside each machine in close proximity and in clear sight.
The most efficient way through the detectors will be via express lanes, which can be found at each gate and used by fans entering the stadium without any bags or stadium seats.

Sports and football bags | Football shoes, training equipment and accessories
The sports bag is every athlete’s best friend. Large, small or medium – this is an essential element of sports equipment. Anyone who has ever trained knows that it will be difficult to get by without a bag, and finding the right model is very important. The custom shapes and sizes of things like the ball or the cleats make the soccer sports bag look a little different from the regular models. However, regardless of the sports discipline, everyone will find something for themselves.
What models of sports bags can be found in R-GOL?
The first type to look out for are soccer bags. They are characterized by a hard bottom and side walls in the lower compartment. The camera created in this way is used to transport shoes and delicate items that should not be left with other accessories. Football bags usually come in three colors – black, blue and red.By using classic colors, you can match the color of the bag to your team’s club colors. An important element of the football bags are the side compartments, which can hold small items such as a wallet and keys. The material used for the production of these bags is extremely durable and has zones that are responsible for good ventilation.
The second type is classic bags. They don’t have a reinforced bottom compartment, making them lighter than soccer bags. Classic sports bags can be used in any sport. It is also the perfect solution for people who go to the gym. Lightweight construction and large shoulder strap make it easy to use. The lack of solid walls means the sports bag will easily fit into your closet. This type of duffel bag comes in a variety of colors and almost every brand has multiple models, which means there is a huge selection to choose from.
In addition to the larger models, we also find specialized sports bags designed to carry certain accessories.Nike and Adidas offer small shoe bags. They will hold a pair of boots and a few extra items like spare cleats or a wrench. Reusch offers goalkeeper glove bags. This is a great deal for goalkeepers. The mesh upper allows air to circulate to keep the gloves dry. Sports bags of this type are distinguished by their convenience and comfort. However, sometimes even the smallest bags are too big – this is where sports backpacks come into play. They are characterized by durable, yet lightweight, breathable material. The backpacks are also suitable for everyday life, and models with specific club emblems will inform everyone which team you are rooting for. Some soccer backpacks also feature external straps to hold the ball in place. This option is great for people who don’t part with their ball. The fact that the ball is on the outside means that the inside of the backpack does not get dirty and the main compartment remains empty. Football and sports bags offer many options and each manufacturer offers something different.
What brands of sports bags can be found in R-GOL?
Nike – It’s worth starting with one of the largest manufacturers of sports equipment. Nike duffel bags are renowned for their durability and stylish design. Nike football bags have great reinforced tubes that are breathable and durable. The well-known Nike Academy Team Duff model is synonymous with reliability and comfort of use.
Adidas – The German brand also offers many great models. You should pay attention to the Adidas Tango series. The sports bags from this collection are aimed at street footballers and fans of playing on small courts.
Under Armor – Sports bags are often associated with this brand, and for good reason. With incredibly strong and durable materials, Under Armor bags and backpacks will last for years.
Puma – Puma works with many top clubs and national teams. The result of this collaboration are football bags with the coats of arms of Milan, Manchester City and backpacks with the colors of the Italian national team. The great design stands out from other companies and Puma sports bags are also used by many people on a daily basis.
R-GOL – Years of experience means R-GOL sports bags are extremely practical. Products bearing the R-GOL logo are characterized by high quality materials and accurate workmanship.
Zina – Do not forget about the best friend of children’s football academies. Zina backpacks and duffel bags are simple, proven designs that never fail. The multitude of color options means that many clubs have partnered with Zina.
Joma – The Spaniards rely on simplicity. Joma duffel bags are minimalist and aesthetic, and high quality goes hand in hand with durability.
Select – Few brands offer this variety. In addition to the classic models, the manufacturer’s offer also includes medical bags and bags on wheels, which are very convenient when carrying heavy training equipment.
New Balance – Sports bags, backpacks and shoe bags with NB logo – quality assurance. The high level that the brand represents in the lifestyle market continues in the category of sports bags.
Regardless of the brand, however, you must be mindful of your needs. Sports bags are designed with care and precision, but the sheer number of models can be overwhelming and the choice doesn’t have to be so easy. When choosing a sports bag, you should be guided by comfort and workmanship. The bag must be strong and not prone to damage. Sports bags are also a fashion item these days. Stylish design for many is no less important than comfort, but only personal preferences are already taken into account.

Anyone who goes in for any kind of sport inevitably faces the fact that he needs to wear his own equipment in something.
And depending on the status of the athlete, as well as the type of sport, manufacturers offer a choice of: various men’s sports bags and backpacks. There is no such thing as a “football bag” or “basketball player’s bag”, etc. It all depends on the amount of equipment that is used in a particular sport, its volume and weight. But for football players, specific models have been developed with an extensive compartment for shoes, which they take for games and training in several pairs. There, if necessary, can fit a ball, and clothes, and other necessary accessories.
For football players, they offer a training bag not wide, but high and with side pockets. Where you can put your equipment and useful things. If it is not very convenient to carry it by the handles, then a strap is used to hang it on the shoulder. Although, by and large. If football players carry luggage, then in most cases from transport to transport. And not so long ago, bags with wheels on one side and a retractable handle on the other appeared, which further increased the comfort. If only they score and win!
For the amateur player, a regular Adidas sports bag is suitable, which can be used not only in football, but also in everyday life. They come in different sizes, but they are quite roomy, with a reinforced bottom and strong handles. They are sewn from high-strength polyester, which has durable qualities and is easy to clean. Nylon is used as inserts. As a rule, manufacturers do not indulge in the colors of the models, offering up to five colors, mostly dark shades.
A backpack is enough for an amateur player, depending on the level of matches in which he participates or young footballers. In terms of the convenience of carrying loads, it confidently leads, since the weight of the contents is evenly distributed between the shoulders. The harness straps adapt to any body shape. A useful volume of 30-40 liters is enough to fold what you need: equipment, a towel, a bottle of water or a thermos of tea, etc.
