Austin Summer Camp (2021)
The camp takes place every day from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm in the building of the Russian Cultural Center (the building is located next to Zilker Park and next to the MOPAC road). There is a bus to Round Rock (the route varies slightly depending on the addresses of people who signed up for a particular week, the route consists of 2-3 collection points in Round Rock). The bus picks up the children at 7:45-8:15 from Round Rock and takes them to our building near Zilker Park to start at 9:00 am. In the evening brings the children to the same collection points by 5:00-5:30 pm. We invite you to join the summer camp from the Russian Cultural Center in Austin!

Summer camp started on June 7th and will run every day (Mon-Fri) until August 20th from 9 am to 5 pm. On some days there is an additional program parents night out (18:00-21:00).
The theme of our summer camp is travel. This summer we are studying 11 countries, we have already learned a lot about their culture, geography, history and even learned a little language. We also do creative work based on countries. Of course, the program of the camp includes dancing, joint time in nature, staging performances and performances. At the end of each week, children create a stand about the country and an exhibition of their work. And of course, the daily class “Science”, in which children learn complex scientific concepts and can conduct experiments themselves (for example, isolate DNA themselves). Classes are held in an interactive form when children can ask any questions, talk about their experiences and even associations – in such a playful way, knowledge from different fields of science is much better remembered. We try to give children knowledge both in the school curriculum and in the form of interactive development in the form of experiments and participation in a mobile planetarium.
Camp size: We have 10 places for children aged 5-8 and 20 places for children 9 years and older. Children 13-15 years old help in the camp. At all school administration is done entirely by volunteers; 100% of the payment goes to the rent of the premises, the necessary materials and the salaries of teachers. Our teachers are wonderful people and true professionals in their field. Of course, the school really needs volunteers to help organize. Camp program
Football training sessions are held in the training camp 2 times a day for 90 minutes. Training is provided for both field players and goalkeepers. Each age group has its own training program. In the morning training, football players, as a rule, work on individual technique and the development of dexterity; in the evening training, the material is consolidated in game exercises. Goalkeepers work both individually with the goalkeeper coach and in teams.
The main emphasis in the training program is on the development of individual technique, the expansion of the arsenal of techniques, the development of coordination abilities, the development of speed in all its manifestations and the improvement of understanding of football.
In addition to football training on the field, the camp hosts interesting classroom sessions that are aimed at improving the understanding of football – coaches conduct video analysis of matches, video analysis of the actions of football players of different roles, explain the main points of game tactics, etc. And also part of the classes is devoted to psychology, sports nutrition, discipline, self-organization and motivation – we tell the camp participants about the sports regime of a football player, the importance of proper nutrition, how to tune in to the game, how to draw the right conclusions from victories and defeats, etc.
In our training camp we try to combine effective training, strict discipline, a clear daily routine with varied, interesting and active leisure. It is important for us that the participants of the camp develop diversified skills and be able to prove themselves not only on the football field. Every day we organize various sports and intellectual events – table tennis and darts tournaments, hold quizzes, organize chess, checkers, FIFA tournaments, play “King of Penalties” and other games.
Despite the fact that footballers from all over the country come to the camp, from different football schools and most of the children do not know each other, in our camp they become a real team. Our camp is based on the principles of sports camps – camp participants are united in teams by age and level of training, they are assigned a coach-team leader and all planned events are held only by the team. Each team has its own unique, separate program. In this format, children unite, find new friends, support each other, answer to the team for being late and other misconduct – in general, the principle works: “one for all and all for one”.
Football trainings
Football trainings are held in the training camp twice a day for 90 minutes. Training is provided for both field players and goalkeepers. Each age group has its own training program. In the morning training, football players, as a rule, work on individual technique and the development of dexterity; in the evening training, the material is consolidated in game exercises. Goalkeepers work both individually with the goalkeeper coach and in teams.
The main emphasis in the training program is on the development of individual technique, the expansion of the arsenal of techniques, the development of coordination abilities, the development of speed in all its manifestations and the improvement of understanding of football.
Football seminars
In addition to football training on the field, the camp hosts interesting classroom sessions that are aimed at improving the understanding of football – coaches conduct video analysis of matches, video analysis of the actions of football players of different roles, explain the main points of game tactics, etc. . And also part of the classes is devoted to psychology, sports nutrition, discipline, self-organization and motivation – we tell the camp participants about the sports regime of a football player, the importance of proper nutrition, how to tune in to the game, how to draw the right conclusions from victories and defeats, etc.
Recreation and development
In our training camp we try to combine effective training, strict discipline, a clear daily routine with varied, interesting and active leisure. It is important for us that the participants of the camp develop diversified skills and be able to prove themselves not only on the football field. Every day we organize various sports and intellectual events – table tennis and darts tournaments, hold quizzes, organize chess, checkers, FIFA tournaments, play “King of Penalties” and other games.
Socialization and team building
Despite the fact that footballers from all over the country come to the camp, from different football schools and most of the children do not know each other, in our camp they become a real team. Excellent organization of the whole process: a memo with information about everything was sent in advance, excellent a meeting was organized for the children in the camp and sent back (those who traveled by themselves).
Good accommodation in a great location, food – buffet – everyone could find something to their liking. Everyone could take bottles of water at any time at will, there were water coolers on each floor, the guys washed their uniforms/clothes once every 2 days, cleaned the rooms, changed towels, super!
Every day in the camp was similar in structure and varied in content, each training and theoretical lesson had its own specific goal. It’s great that every day a program for the day with specific tasks was posted.
The guys lived in good rooms, the coaches lived nearby, there was complete control and order. Parents lived in the same hotel, i.e. both nearby and, as it were, apart, so as not to interfere with the training process.
Excellent work of the head coach throughout the organization of the process, thank you for your endurance and goodwill!
And all the coaches in the camp are just great guys, sociable and professional.
