CIT (Counselor-In-Training) Program – Arrowhead Day Camp
Graduating campers are welcomed and encouraged to participate in our CIT program, where they enjoy the “best of both worlds” in that they are campers transitioning into roles of more responsibility. With the support and guidance of the CIT director and other Arrowhead staff, our aim is to prepare our CITs to be employed by Arrowhead the following summer while still providing fun and recreational camper activities. CITs will reach Arrowhead’s objectives by the following means:

All CITs and their parents will have a pre-camp meeting with our Head Director and CIT Director to review the program, as well as go over the expectations we have for them during the summer. CITs will receive their handbook and Arrowhead CIT t-shirts at this time. CITs are campers with limited counselor responsibilities. This is their time to work with and observe seasoned counselors, grow as individuals, learn crucial skills about caring for children and most importantly HAVE FUN as they do!!!
CIT Schedule
CITs will shadow Senior and Junior Counselors in a bunk during the daily activities of the day. They will especially assist and learn about setting and cleaning up lunch, as part of our “family-style” meal tradition our Junior Counselors help facilitate. After 5th period, they will then attend their club day electives, group activities, and have snack and swim. Every Monday, the CITs will have a morning meeting with the CIT director. The purpose of these meetings may vary but are essential to the structure of the CIT program in promoting the exchange of ideas and learning amongst the CITs. Guest counselors and directors will attend certain meetings to share their ideas and expectations and/or offer specific guidance on topics or situations as they may arise. CIT Schedule
Trips
Every Wednesday, the CITs, the CIT director, and any additional support staff that may be necessary will take an Arrowhead vehicle on a trip. Some of these trips are recreational, i.e. Escape Room, river tubing, and amusement parks; and some are community service oriented; i.e. visiting a local nursing home, or helping out at the ASPCA. The aim of these trips is to provide the CITs with something special that regular campers don’t receive, as well as providing a well-rounded and enriched CIT experience. On trip days, campers will be required to wear their CIT t-shirts and abide by the Arrowhead CIT code of conduct. All trips are sponsored by Arrowhead, at no additional cost to the parent. A CIT trip schedule will be sent to parents at the beginning of the camp season.

While we give first choice to our graduating campers depending on space and availability, any teenager aged 14 or 15 wishing to be employed by Arrowhead must first participate in our CIT program.
No! All trips (including transportation and lunch) will be covered by camp. All field trips are timed to depart around 10 am and return by the end of the camp day in order to take camp transportation home. Exception will be last week Hershey Park trip with details to follow.
CITs will be asked to express TWO preferences of camp divisions they would prefer to work with at their pre-camp meeting. They will CIT for those two age groups, rotating halfway through the summer. If at anytime a CIT feels they are not comfortable with the placement, or the CIT Director feels the CIT would benefit from an alternative placement, changes will then be made.
We at Arrowhead have decided to implement a CIT program for 2 separate reasons:
- To provide our CITs with an extra year to experience the joys of being a camper.
Our CITs will be able to participate in all activities that our campers currently do. This means that every day they will be participating in a Club Day of their choice, one scheduled activity and a free swim daily. CITs will also be able to participate in the camp show, overnight weekends, horseback riding and all other special events. In addition to enjoying camper activities, they will also have the added bonus of going on weekly off-site field trips.
- To educate our CITs into becoming a well-trained Junior Counselor the following year.
Our CITs will be spending 5 periods a day with the bunk of their choice working alongside a Junior Counselor as well as the Head Counselor. Here they will learn all of our Junior Counselor responsibilities including how to set up & serve lunch, how to bond and form relationships with each child, how to work as a team, etc. They will also receive weekly trainings from our directors to help them during this transition year from a camper to a Junior Counselor.
Teen Leadership/CIT Program | YMCA Camp Immokalee YMCA Camp Immokalee
The counselor-in-training (CIT) program exists to help 10th, 11th, and 12th graders learn leadership skills and to prepare them to become counselors after graduation. CITs have a unique role at camp – they’re no longer campers, but not yet staff. We want CITs to enjoy camp, the friendships, and the activities, but we’re relying on them to be role models for our campers and helping hands for our staff.
CITs live in the cabin with 8-12 campers and two counselors. During the camp days, they’ll help lead activities like arts & crafts, dance & games, land sports, archery, and more. They’ll also work with homesick campers, help create excitement around camp, assist with basic cleaning and dishwashing, and more. The CIT program is dedicated to leadership development and teambuilding as well as child development and programming training.
Program Communication
Communication regarding the application process and the program should be between the applicant and the camp director and assistant/program director. The most successful applicants treat the application and hiring process just like any job application. Parents should feel free to help in certain ways, like guiding the applicant in selecting references and helping them learn to professionally apply and interview. At the same time, please remember we seek candidates who are independent, mature and self-motivated. It is our hope that parents help cultivate these traits by allowing their teens to take full responsibility for their CIT application. Our goals are that all applicants to the Counselor-In-Training program gain valuable experience in the job application and interview process and that all our CITs gain skills that are applicable not only to being a camp counselor but to other aspects of their lives.

Leadership Training – Schoolhouse of Wonder
Some children come into the world primed to become artists, computer whizzes, or athletes. But these intrinsic qualities are only a small part of the story. Achievement often requires countless hours of practice to build the skills necessary to succeed.
Leadership is no different. Even “born leaders” require years of observing, learning, and practicing skills and qualities such as positive attitude, integrity, confidence, humility, empathy, communication, cooperation, teamwork, and the willingness to try new things.
Counselors in Training (Summer Camp)
Requirements:
- Age: 13-17 years old (must be 13 by August 31)
- Cost: $199/week (CITs are eligible for multi-camp discounts, but not sibling discounts)

Counselors in Training (Intersession and School Break Camps)
For Counselors in Training who have time available during intersession breaks or Discovery Day dates, we offer a less structured leadership training opportunity. Current CITs may volunteer to take part in our seasonal camps without a formal evaluation. They will still receive verbal feedback and personalized goal setting assistance.

Junior Counselors (Summer Camp)
Once again, we’re thrilled to offer employment opportunities for Junior Counselors in each summer camp session. Young leaders who have participated in our Counselor in Training (CIT) program are integral partners in pursuing this mission. In 2013, we created the Junior Counselor program – paid summer camp positions for former CITs – and it has been a great success.
Candidates are encouraged to apply for summer sessions depending on their interest and availability. Junior Counselors typically work only one session of the summer season and will be expected to work the entirety of that session. Junior Counselors must be at least 16 years old by the beginning of the preferred session. Due to the very limited openings we have this summer in Orange and Wake Counties, we’ve divided the summer into three sessions. Unfortunately, we aren’t accepting applications for our Durham location this year. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience as a CIT and/or camper at the applicable camp location.

Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program | Camp Seale Harris
Countdown to Summer 2022!
The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program is intended to prepare the individual for the leadership and responsibility of being a counselor. The number of CITs each year is limited by available bed space at camp. As a result, CITs are selected through a competitive application process based on their age and leadership potential.
Camp Seale Harris has two CIT programs to choose from. At our Camp ASCCA location, the CIT program is a two-week program (during Senior and Junior weeks). During the first week of training, CITs stay together as a unit. They experience many of the traditional camp activities including ropes course, zip line, target sports, etc. In addition, they are assigned to help other camp staff, assist with special events, and provide special programs. During the second week of training, CITs are assigned to assist an experienced counselor in the supervision and management of a group of younger campers. The CIT is evaluated by the Camp Director, CIT Directors, and mentor counselors. Evaluation includes attitude, communication, values and character, program support, commitment to the mission, diabetes management, team work, and leadership ability. After the successful completion of the two week training program, CITs may be selected/invited to serve during other Camp Seale Harris programs as a CIT, or as a “Junior Counselor,” assisting an experienced counselor.
At our Mobile location, the CIT program is a one-week program (during Coastal Camp Seale Harris). The CITs stay together as a unit. During the days, the CITs are assigned to day camp groups to assist experienced counselors in the supervision and management of younger campers. The CITs also get to experience many of the camp activities at this time. During the evenings, the CITs work with the CIT Directors and review and evaluate their day in order to prepare for the following day. Evaluation includes attitude, communication, values and character, program support, commitment to the mission, diabetes management, team work and leadership ability.
The program will be designed to:
- Provide each CIT with opportunities to gain additional knowledge of diabetes.
- Provide each CIT with opportunities to work with children and gain practical experience
in the care of children living with diabetes. - Provide each CIT with opportunities to work with veteran staff and learn various
counseling and teaching techniques. - Provide each CIT with opportunities to acquire new skills and refine existing ones.
- Guide the CIT through the transition from camper to volunteer staff.

Applications received after this date may not be considered for the program due to the limited number of spaces. Along with the application you must enclose a recent photo and two letters of recommendation. The recommendations should come from individuals who are not related to you and only one may be from someone at camp. CIT selections are typically finalized during the month of March. Remember, even if you are not selected as part of the CIT program in 2022, you may still apply as a camper for Senior Camp or Coastal Camp Seale Harris. You can also apply to help at one of our day camp programs. If you are selected for the CIT program, more information will be sent to you.
You can choose ONE of the two CIT programs. The 2022 CIT Program at Camp ASCCA (during Senior and Junior Weeks) or the 2022 CIT Program in Mobile (during Coastal Camp Seale Harris). First priority will be given to those who can be at camp for the entire program.
Those considering applying to become a CIT should:
- Be 16 – 18 years of age. Preference is given to the oldest applicants.
- Have participated successfully as a camper in at least one Camp Seale Harris session.
- Demonstrate a commitment to Southeastern Diabetes Education Services, its mission, and its programs/activities (Camp Seale Harris Overnight and Day Programs).
- Be highly motivated to serve as positive role models for campers living with diabetes.

Counselor in Training Program | Winding Trails
The position of C.I.T. at Winding Trails Summer Day Camp is an important one. If chosen, you will learn many of the skills needed to work with children such as child safety, interaction, new games, age related activities, etc.
Although meeting new friends and having fun here is a by-product of this program, this should not be your primary motive for applying. You should be applying because you have a desire to work with children in a camp setting.
The C.I.T. Program is designed as a two-year program for entering ninth and tenth graders. Some candidates are admitted for one year. This program has become very popular in recent years and competition for our few available openings has been overwhelming. Take your time and fill out the enclosed application completely. It must be filled out by you, not by your parents. Be sure to list any experience you have in working with children, participation in camps, sports or clubs. Please note the swim level that you last completed. Also, give some thought to the essay question and why you want to be in the program. Send a resume if possible.
Based on your application, we will evaluate whether or not we feel you will be a good candidate for our program and an interview will be scheduled. Decisions will be made based upon the following criteria; application/experience/references 25%, essay 25% and interview 50%.

The closing date for applying for this program is February 28, 2022. All interviews will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022.
CIT Reference
Three reference forms are required for each applicant. References should be completed by non members of the family. The best people to ask for a reference are teachers, coaches, instructors; people who can evaluate the applicant without bias. Employees of Winding Trails, Inc. are not permitted to complete reference forms for any applicant.

Counselor In Training (CIT) – Elbow Lane Day Camp
Our Quest and CIT (Counselors in Training) programs are the final steps for our campers before becoming eligible to join the staff as Junior Counselors. This program provides a tremendous learning situation for young teens as they assist and share experiences with our Senior Counselors. There are options for participation in regular camp activities as well. This program is open to campers who are 13 and 14 years of age. See options below for details.
Freedom (ENTERING 8TH OR 9TH GRADE)
This program is designed for teens, 13 and 14 years old, who would prefer to take part in regular camp activities throughout the day, as opposed to working with campers. This program is essentially a camper schedule, offering the same exciting activities enjoyed throughout camp. The Freedom program runs all eight weeks.
QUEST (ENTERING 8TH GRADE)
The Quest Program is designed for the camper who is interested in learning how to work with children. A Quest member must come to camp with a real interest in taking on the additional responsibility of being an integral part of the counselor team. The Quest and Freedom members will have a full camp schedule together for the first two weeks of camp. The Quest members will then have the opportunity to apply for a full-day assignment to a Group or Specialty. The Freedom’s counselors will then assign them to a full-day assistant role. Assignments will be made based on requests.
Counselor staff will also provide weekly training opportunities for Quest to facilitate their transition from a camper to staff mentality. They will be formally evaluated by the Senior Staff with whom they are working, as well as the Freedom staff. The evaluation process will determine whether they would be recommended to join the CIT program in their second year or whether the Quest member would be better served in the Freedom program.
CIT (ENTERING 9TH GRADE ONLY)
A prerequisite for this Counselor in Training program is a recommendation by the Head Counselor and CIT staff in order to achieve this level. This program is designed for the camper who has shown a high level of maturity and judgment, together with a strong interest in working with children. Although still considered a staff “in training”, the CIT will be permanently assigned to assist all day throughout the season with a group or at a specialty, based upon their requests. This program is an exceptional learning experience for the 14 year old who would like to be considered for a Junior Counselor position the following summer. CITs must attend a minimum of 4 weeks. CITs will receive a 1/3 tuition discount. In addition, they will be paid a stipend of $100 for an 8-week commitment. Those enrolled less than 8 weeks will receive a stipend pro-rated for the number of weeks enrolled. CITs are offered the opportunity to attend a preseason staff orientation.
TRIPS
No off-campus trips are scheduled for the summer of 2021, although we are constantly monitoring guidance with a view to implementing changes.
CIT – Calleva
Counselors in training (CITs) get the best of both worlds, being part camper and part staff. CITs get to participate in daily camp activities while practicing the skills and responsibilities of Calleva staff. While having fun, they will also learn life skills, teamwork and strong work ethic. In order to be a CIT, you must do your best to fulfill the following expectations. The Calleva staff are more than willing to help you succeed in this. Please feel free to talk to the CIT director, or any other staff member, if you are having difficulty with any aspect of your role.

Age Requirements:
CIT: 14 or 15 years old
Expectations:
- Model good behavior, set the example, use appropriate language (you are a role model and younger campers are watching!)
- Be a friend to all campers. Encourage nervous or struggling campers. Be inclusive.
- Approach camp with a positive attitude – your enthusiasm is contagious!
- Communicate with the staff you are working with. Ask how you can help, and do your best to perform any tasks or responsibilities they give you.
- Never discipline other campers. Remember, you are still a camper yourself. Focus instead on modeling good behavior.
- Begin to think about camp from a counselor’s perspective. How can you help make transitions go smoothly? What are the group dynamics within your activity? What characteristics of the Calleva staff make them good leaders?
- CITs should plan on going on all overnights in activity camp, outside of extenuating circumstances, because that is where you are needed the most -as a role model and a leader for the other campers.

As a volunteer, you will be placed where Calleva has a need as opposed to choosing your activity as a camper. You need to be available for at least 4 weeks, complete a staff application, attend an interview and staff training.
While we match skills where we can, we do not guarantee that you will be placed with a specific activity.
As a staff member, whether volunteer or paid, we aim to have a minimum 2 year age gap between counselors and campers, so it is likely that you will be helping with our younger age group.

PROGRAM SHORT DESCRIPTION
Purpose of the program: Development of knowledge and professional skills of medical advisers, aimed at increasing their effectiveness in building a scientific dialogue with the expert community and the effectiveness of delivering scientific information
Target Audience : Medical Advisers (MSL, Field Medical Adviser, Medical Adviser).
Program structure: The program consists of 25 training modules, which are arranged in 18 training sessions:
- 2 sessions – two days
- 9 remote sessions (webinar format).

After each session, the training participants are offered homework, which they will then present as part of a webinar held 1-2 months after the end of the face-to-face session.
Key principles of the program organization:

Key Responsibilities:

On November 28, a grand opening took place, and a plenary session of the Gathering of young innovators, inventors and rationalizers “Youth and Innovations” was held. The guests of the session were Svetlana Chupsheva, Director General of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects, and Ivan Bortnik, Advisor to the Director General of the Innovation Promotion Fund.
The conference program includes lectures and master classes from design specialists, lawyers, patent attorneys, startups, representatives of private and public venture funds.
An important part of the meeting was the exhibition of youth scientific and technical creativity “Active”, where everyone could see a variety of projects of young inventors – from a device for collecting oil from the surface of reservoirs to a device that helps control posture.
KNRTU-KAI at the exhibition presented projects of students of an engineering boarding school, participants of the UMNIK program and young scientists of the center for supporting scientific and technical creativity of university youth.The exposition includes a universal laser optical head, samples of additive technologies, a simulator for training pilots (Bennett mechanism).
