The day before, a training camp for Russian hockey players was opened in Chicago under the leadership of the president of the Russian Hockey Federation (FHR), Vladislav Tretiak.
On Tuesday, the second day of classes will take place, in which Alexei Kovalev and Ilya Bryzgalov will join their partners. As Tretyak emphasized to RIA Novosti in a telephone conversation, “the collection is open, the situation is working.” “According to the plan of training on ice, athletic training, swimming pool, massage, golf,” said the head of the FHR.
The hockey players also played golf on Monday. When asked who wins in this sport, Tretyak diplomatically replied: “Only friendship.”
A total of 13 hockey players gathered in Chicago under the leadership of the famous goalkeeper, including the stars of the National Hockey League (NHL) Alexander Ovechkin, Sergei Fedorov, Pavel Datsyuk, Alexander Frolov, Andrey Markov.
Chicago gathering will last until September 1st. Tretiak made it clear that during this time he wants to find out the opinion of the Russian NHL players about the national team. The 2007 Ice Hockey World Championship will be held in Russia, and everything possible must be done so that the team starts to win, the president of the FHR is sure.

“Chicago” in terms of statistics
Author
Rob Wollman
/ NHL.com Correspondent
The 2017-18 regular season is still a long way off, but with development camps now over and training camps fast approaching, in the last month of summer we decided to take a close look at the state of affairs across all NHL clubs.
Each day throughout August, NHL.com/ru will analyze the teams in a series of articles “31 for 31”. Strengths and weaknesses, analysis of the coaching staff and talented youth, prospects for Russian hockey players – we will talk about all this on a daily basis.
NHL.com highlights three key Chicago Blackhawks stats in this piece:
in the NHL in faceoff wins (47.5%).
It is often said that the team whose player first touched the puck won the faceoff. But this is a very subjective parameter. Therefore, many specialists, in order to determine the quality of the game on the point, count the number of shots (on target, past the goal or blocked) made at the goal within 10 seconds after the throw-in.
This is called NSPF (net shots post faceoff) and was developed by Craig Tabitha of Puck Base. He calculates a hockey player’s NSPF from the shot ratio within 10 seconds after the throw-in, subtracting from it the league average in the same situations (throw-in in the attacking zone, in the middle zone or in the defensive zone).
Center Artem Anisimov’s NSPF is minus 40.04 on shooting, second to last in the NHL, ahead of only Winnipeg Jets’ Mark Scheifli (minus 40.9).5). Jonathan Toews traditionally wins 54.9% of face-offs, but is sixth from the bottom on the NSPF, minus 33.11.
2. Power component
Over the past four seasons, Chicago has ranked last in the NHL in the number of applied power moves. This summer, forwards Tommy Wingels and Lance Buma, who were considered the best power forwards on the market, joined the team.
The statistics of power moves can be affected by many factors: playing time, playing in unequal lineups, different qualifications of collisions by different observers. The best way to calculate them is AESH (adjusted even-strength hits statistic), invented by Iain Fyff. AESH determines how many power moves a player uses in a level playing field on a typical NHL team.
If we take the statistics of the last three seasons and recalculate them using the Fiiff formula, Buma will be ranked 19th in the NHL with 13.
