Staten Island, New York is the epitome of a diamond in the rough. Even though it has been largely unappreciated and cast off as the forgotten borough, it definitely has not lost its luster. This amazing beautiful island of adventure is home to over 170 parks including the magnificent Willowbrook Park which features six nice outdoor tennis courts for beginner, intermediate and advanced players.
Walker Park also offers six hard outdoor tennis courts for kids, teens and adults to improve their game. Grab your racquet and hit any of the four tennis courts at Silver Lake Park. Playing tennis in the parks on Staten Island is a great way to socialize and meet new people.
Bring a friend and play tennis at the neighborhood public parks on Staten Island. It’s tons of fun. Introduce a kid to the great game of tennis. They’ll love it and learn a sport for a life!
The Staten Islanders love tennis. In fact, the great sport of tennis made its debut in the United States of America on Staten Island. The first ever American National Championship was played in September of 1880 and was introduced on Staten Island by Mary Ewing Outerbridge. Mary was an American woman who imported the lawn game of tennis to the United States from Bermuda. She was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame just over one hundred years later in 1981. Thankfully her legacy lives on!
Play tennis on the Island where history was made. Our qualified tennis professionals are proud to offer fun Staten Island tennis lessons near you. What are you waiting for? Get out on the courts!

“FindTennisLessons.com was a great resource to find a tennis instructor in our area. Coach Nagraj quickly responded and we set-up a lesson for my teenage son within 24 hours. Coach Nagraj was a wealth of information, going through warm-ups with my son before the lesson and giving clear instructions on grips, backhand and serving. We left with several practical things to work on to improve my son’s game in the upcoming year!”
