From coast to coast, these talented athletes are gonna put on a show in cities across North America. So grab your tickets and clear your schedule – trust me, you won’t wanna miss the excitement headed your way!
Buffalo Hosts New York for Home Opener
Kicking things off, we’ve got an early season showdown as the Buffalo Bandits host the New York Riptide for their 2023 home opener. As longtime division rivals, these two teams know each other well and always bring the intensity. The Bandits will be hungry to defend their home turf against a scrappy Riptide squad eager to score a big win early. With All-Star veterans like Dhane Smith leading Buffalo’s lethal offense against New York’s physical defense anchored by Dan Lomas, this opener is sure to set the tone for both teams this year.
Beyond the rivalry factor, there’s extra motivation for the Bandits to start strong in front of their diehard fans. After missing the playoffs last season, they’ll need to come out firing if they want to reclaim their spot as one of the top contenders in the East division. Meanwhile, New York is still searching for their first ever playoff berth – so stealing a win in Buffalo would be a huge statement. Needless to say, this first matchup between these fiery foes is gonna be a must-see barnburner!
Saskatchewan Takes on Panther City for Early Test

Jumping over to the West, we’ve got another early measuring stick game as the Saskatchewan Rush visit the Panther City Lacrosse Club. This will be Panther City’s first ever home game as an expansion franchise, but they’ve loaded up on talent like Shane Simpson, Ryan Lee, and Connor Fields. That firepower will get a stiff test against the Rush’s rugged defense led by stalwarts like Kyle Rubisch and Ryan Dilks.
For Saskatchewan, it’s a chance to show they’re still the class of the West after losing in the first round last year. With refreshed offensive depth around stars Mark Matthews and Robert Church, they’ll look to spoil Panther City’s home debut. But under the bright lights of Dickies Arena, this feisty expansion squad will be eager to score an upset win and show they belong in the upper echelon out West. This showdown should set the stage for a new Western rivalry.
Rocky Mountain Clash Heads West
Sticking out West, the Colorado Mammoth will host the Vancouver Warriors in a fresh Rocky Mountain rivalry matchup. These budding foes have split their season series the last two years, so this game takes on added importance. Colorado boasts one of the most lethal offenses in lacrosse, led by elite scorers like Chris Wardle, Eli McLaughlin, and Joey Cupido.
They’ll get a tough test against Vancouver’s experienced defense anchored by veteran Matt Beers. The Warriors will try to slow down the Mammoth’s attack while relying on their own balanced scoring from the likes of Mitch Jones, Justin Salt, and Jordan McBride. With playoff spots potentially on the line, these Western Conference contenders will hold nothing back in this pivotal dustup at the Loud House in Colorado.
Albany Visits Rochester in I-90 Rivalry

In the East, we’ve got some old school hatred brewing as the Albany FireWolves head east to face the Rochester Knighthawks. Whenever these two I-90 rivals clash, you know it’s going to be a feisty battle. Last season, the Knighthawks won the season series 2-1 on their way to making the playoffs. But Albany’s got revenge on their minds.
Led by new head coach Glenn Clark, the FireWolves reloaded in the offseason adding gritty talent like Andrew Kew and Joe Resetarits to complement stars Callum Crawford and Joe Nardella. They’ll be hungry to take down Rochester on their home floor. Meanwhile, the Knighthawks return experienced scorers like Holden Cattoni, Mike Burke, and Shawn Evans looking to kick off a new era. With bragging rights and a leg up in the playoff race at stake, this I-90 showdown is sure to bring the heat.
Colorado Seeks Revenge Against San Diego
Remember last season when the San Diego Seals shocked the Colorado Mammoth with a stunning playoff upset? You better believe the Mammoth haven’t forgotten. This regular season matchup will be all about revenge as Colorado tries to return the favor on their home floor.
Led by captain Dan Dawson, the Seals will attempt to play spoiler again behind their scrappy, two-way play. But Colorado’s potent offense will be out for revenge. After last year’s embarrassment, Mammoth stars like McLaughlin, Cupido, and Wardle will be extra motivated to solve San Diego’s stingy defense. With the goal of redeeming themselves after last season’s disappointment, expect the Mammoth to pull out all the stops trying to settle the score.
