For cold weather running, the mesh upper won’t provide much insulation or water resistance. Your feet may get chilly and wet in the React Escape Run during winter. I recommend swapping them out for a more protective trail shoe in cold, wet conditions.

On recovery runs, I’ll loosen up the laces a bit for a more relaxed fit. But for any fast running, I make sure to tighten the laces more to keep my foot locked in place inside the footbed.
The flat laces have plenty of stretch so I can achieve that perfect snug midfoot fit without restricting blood flow to the toes. The oval lacing eyestays are smoothly stitched to prevent any irritation.

However, the durable rubber lugs handle miles and miles of pavement with ease. The Escape Run can definitely go the distance as a durable daily road trainer.
