Jim Brown

One of the biggest names in both lacrosse and football, Jim Brown honed his skills as a multisport athlete at Manlius Military Academy just east of Syracuse. This is where his lacrosse prowess first began to emerge. He then went on to become an All-American lacrosse player at Syracuse University alongside football. Brown set records playing attack for Syracuse, leading the nation in scoring in 1956 with 43 goals in 10 games. His incredible athleticism and charges down the field made him one of the most feared offensive lacrosse players of his era. Of course, he also made a name for himself in the NFL before becoming an actor.

Gary Gait

Considered one of the best lacrosse players ever, Gary Gait attended high school at Syracuse’s Westhill where his three-sport talents took shape. He went on to rewrite the record books playing college lacrosse at Syracuse University, winning two national titles and three national player of the year awards. His patented move the “Air Gait” changed offensive strategies in the game. Gait also enjoyed a successful pro career including in the early days of Major League Lacrosse for the Baltimore Bayhawks where he continues to serve as president and coach.

Lyle and Miles Thompson

Brothers Lyle and Miles Thompson grew up together in the Onondaga Nation territory between Albany and Syracuse where they were immersed in lacrosse from a young age. The pair went on to star together collegiately at the University at Albany where they teamed up to set NCAA scoring records. Both also became the first Native Americans to win the Tewaaraton Award as the nation’s top college player. Miles also enjoyed an MLL career which included an MVP award in 2016 while scoring 7 goals in a rivalry game against brother Lyle. Rob Pannell

Originally from Long Island, elite attackman Rob Pannell attended high school at Cornell University right in Ithaca, NY. He then went on to a historic college career at Cornell where he set Ivy League scoring records and won numerous awards including being a three-time Tewaaraton finalist. Pannell was drafted #1 in the MLL where he excelled for New York. He also helped the USA to gold at the 2018 World Championships. In 2019, he was one of the biggest stars joining the new Premier Lacrosse League where he continues to cement his lacrosse legacy.

John Grant Jr.

Canadian native John Grant Jr. became a college lacrosse legend playing for powerhouse Syracuse from 1992-1995. There he helped the Orangemen make it to three national title games while racking up scoring records. Grant Jr. also starred professionally in both the NLL and MLL, becoming one of the greatest pro players ever at the attack position where he could take over games with his athleticism and skills. Like Pannell, he was an early star for the PLL as one of the anchors for the Chaos team.

Connor Fields

A native of Pelham right outside New York City, Connor Fields grew up around Albany where he was a high school standout. He parlayed college success into an MLL career from 2011-2016 with stops in Denver, Florida, and New York.
