introduction to the rules
MODERN
After about two centuries, lacrosse moved to the European part. The first professional club was founded by dentist from Montreal in 1867 . With the creation of this club, the first lacrosse match was held at the professional level.
There are several varieties of this game
Mini lacrosse (lacrosse box). Unlike the classics, matches are held at in room . The word “mini” in the name indicates the number of players in the team – six people each.
Box lacrosse (mini lacrosse)
LAcrosse
Women’s lacrosse There are no changes in composition. But playing time has been reduced. Instead of four halves of fifteen minutes, are played 2 halves of 25 minutes.
In parallel with this, another team is being created, already in Petersburg . This was the reason to create the tournament Cup of Capitals . But despite all the efforts of David and his colleagues from the northern capital, so far in Russia lacrosse remains only at amateur level . He continues to live only at the expense of 90,005 enthusiastic fans.
In Canada, , the home of lacrosse, is the main summer sport. And the lacrosse association – is one of the oldest . It was founded in 1867 at the same time as the creation of the first professional club.
In the United States of America there is a lacrosse league , and this sport even has national status .

In addition to the “major players in the lacrosse market” represented by the USA and Canada, there are also small associations . A Australia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand and European countries are members of the International Lacrosse Federation. China and India have their own associations, but they are not included in the international one.
Relatively recently lacrosse began to be popularized in our country. The starting point can be considered 2007 . Then the famous overseas athlete David Diamon arrived in the capital . Initially, he simply taught his friends how to score balls and told the rules of the game. Soon other people unknown to David became interested in lacrosse. He made the decision to form a team which he called Moscow Rebels .
