The Showcase program is a tremendous chance to showcase your skills under the instruction of top NCAA coaches. It is also an affordable compliment to tournament play that increases a player’s visibility with top collegiate programs. The Summer Showcase provides players the opportunity to be coached by some of today’s best college coaches while being evaluated as a prospective student athlete. Players will be put through a high tempo college level practice focusing on individual fundamentals, positional training, small number situations and full field transition. Players are also divided into teams, instructed by NCAA coaches, for live competitive games. The showcase is the perfect complement to our tournament series where coaches can work with and get to know players in an intimate setting on the Tuesday before then watching them play for their club teams on Wednesday & Thursday. The Invitational Prospect Showcase will be capped at 120 players to allow for maximum attention. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to grow your game and be recruited!

We pull goalies off the waitlist based on the number of field players we get and the number of teams we form. This way we ensure that we don’t have more than two goalies per team. Just because you are waitlisted, doesn’t mean that the goalie position is full! Please make sure you register on the waitlist, and we will contact you when we can pull you off the waitlist and into the showcase!

He repeated the lacrosse goal of the Russian striker of the Carolina NHL club Andrey Svechnikov.

HELSINKI, November 14. /TASS/. Russian hockey players with a score of 2:4 lost to the Swedes in the match of the second round of the Karjala Cup, which is the starting stage of the Eurotour. Despite the defeat, the young striker of the Russian national team Matvey Michkov can be called the hero of the meeting – the striker became the youngest goal scorer in the history of the national team, and besides, he scored the puck in spectacular style.

Before the second match of the tournament, which takes place in Helsinki, several changes took place in the Russian team. Acting head coach Oleg Bratash was forced to leave the team for personal reasons, he was replaced in this position by Sergey Zubov. Adjustments were also made to the composition of the Russian team for the match with the Swedes. So, Yaroslav Askarov appeared at the gate, who, obviously, is being played for the World Youth Championship.

Against the Finns, Michkov played on the fourth line, which looked active in attack for his level. In the match with the Swedes, he was transferred to the second three to Artem Galimov and Daniil Vovchenko, and the decision turned out to be justified. This link began to manifest itself already in the first period, when Michkov did not use a 100% chance in one of the episodes. The 16-year-old forward failed to successfully play the rebound and push the puck into the empty corner of Gustav Lindval’s goal. For an unrealized moment, a more experienced opponent punished the Russians at the very end of the first period – Anton Bengtsson opened the scoring.

But at the beginning of the second 20-minute period it was Michkov’s time: the SKA forward drove past the Lindval gate, picked up the puck and put it into the “nine” over the goalkeeper’s shoulder. A goal in this performance is called the name of the Finnish striker Mikael Granlund, who thus hit the gates of the Russian team in the semi-finals of the 2011 World Cup. Michkov is not the first Russian to score lacrosse at the highest level. Forward “Carolina” Andrey Svechnikov at the end of October 2019scored the first such goal in the history of the National Hockey League in a match with Calgary, and a couple of months later he repeated this trick in a game with Winnipeg.

Almost immediately after this historic puck, the opponent, thanks to the efforts of Karl Klingberg, again took the lead, but the Russians immediately bounced back – Galimov equalized the score. The Swedes still managed to put the squeeze on – the winning goal was scored by Anton Lander, famous for his performances in the Continental Hockey League, who admitted after the match that it was not his style to score lacrosse goals.

After the match, Zubov noted that the claims against his players mainly concerned the realization of scoring chances, and two goals were scored against Askarov after a more experienced opponent won the single combat on the patch, skillfully substituting the stick. “We paid attention to this until one of the goals, but our defender did not have enough strength. The fourth goal turned out to be more offensive when we played incorrectly on the shift,” Zubov said.

President of the Russian Hockey Federation (FHR) Vladislav Tretiak, speaking about the puck abandoned by Michkov, called the goal performed by the striker of the Russian national team “classic”. “He lifted it in cold blood, placed it, skillfully used his moment. It’s very nice that [he scored] such a goal and that the young player joins the national team in such a way,” Tretyak told TASS.

In another match on Saturday, the Finnish team beat the Czech Republic with a score of 4:2. In the standings of the Karjala Cup, the first two places are occupied by the teams of Sweden and Finland, which will determine the winner of the tournament in a face-to-face meeting on Sunday. The teams of the Czech Republic and Russia, which do not have points in their assets before the final round, will compete for the third position.
