Where can I pick up new or used lacrosse gear?
Online at SportsStop. com, in person at Dave’s Sport Shop in Maple Grove, Scheels, Dick’s, Play it Again Sports in Elk River also has used lacrosse gear. Many vendors will usually have a promo package for gear where you can get a discount when you buy all the pads at the same time.
When does the field lacrosse season begin?
The outdoor practices start as soon as the school district allows us to get out on the fields. Practices start around May 1st, sometimes a week or two earlier depending on moisture content on the fields and the condition of the turf. The volunteer coaches at each age level will request field allocations and based upon coach and field availability you will receive a practice schedule of dates and times.
How does the online uniform ordering work?
Geared Up has uniforms in each size for you to have your player try-on to ensure accurate sizing. Feel free to bring shoulder pads if you are wondering how they will fit with pads on. You will also be ordering your shooter shirt which will have the player’s last name and number printed on the shooter shirt. Some parents go a size up on the shooter shirt so it is easier to read the last name on the shooter shirt as it will hang down a bit below the uniform.
What gear is required for boys field lacrosse?
For outdoor field lacrosse, we do require that the boy’s players wear an approved lacrosse helmet during all practices and games. They are also required to wear a mouth guard and we recommenced the type that attaches to the helmet so the players do not lose them on the field. Shoulder pads, arm guards, gloves, protective cup/athletic supporter and cleats are also required, but do not forget the lacrosse stick!
What gear is required for girls field lacrosse?
For outdoor field lacrosse, girls are required to wear a mouth guard (not clear or white), lacrosse goggles, and cleats (lacrosse, football or soccer cleats work well). Also, make sure to purchase a girl’s lacrosse stick https://www.uslacrosse.org/safety/equipment/legal-sticks. Girls are not required to wear helmets but can be worn if parents desire. Please contact the girl’s director for more information.
What does the girls field lacrosse schedule look like?
Practices are generally scheduled twice a week for one to two hours beginning around the start of May at Salk Fields. Home games will usually take place at Oak Knoll Athletic Field. Games are scheduled on weeknights in the summer starting around the second week of June. Summer weekends will generally be open with no lacrosse games with the exception of the state tournament on the last weekend of July in Maple Grove (High School and Fernbrook Fields).
What does the boys field lacrosse schedule look like?
Practices are scheduled twice a week for one to two hours beginning around the first week of May. Boys teams will use Salk and Vandenberge Middle School fields for practice. Home games will usually take place at Oak Knoll Athletic Field. We will have early spring jamborees with two games per weekend during the school year. If your son is a multi-sport athlete, we have found that the Spring jamborees can conflict with other pre-scheduled competitions. Do not worry these jamborees are optional scrimmages and do not count towards a team season record. You may have to pick and choose which sport to have your son play on these weekends. Be aware that the game schedules for these jamborees may be delivered only a few days prior to the games.
Once school is out the games are scheduled on weeknights in the summer. Summer weekends will generally be open with no lacrosse games (with the exception of selected tournaments and playoffs for 12U and 14U). State Playoffs are the last weekend in July.
What age levels have skill evaluations?
The boys teams at 12U and 14U have tryout evaluations provided by Homegrown Lacrosse and are not affiliated with Elk River Youth Lacrosse. The boys 8U and 10U teams will have board members and coaches perform evaluations and scoring for these players and we will have a player draft with the head coaches of the teams at 8U and 10U to help divide the players into multiple teams. Girls teams may or may not have evaluations depending on the number of players.

Punahou School
Punahou School (known as Oahu College until 1934) is a private, coeducational college preparatory school in Honolulu, Hawaii. Over 3,700 students attend the school from kindergarten to 12th grade. [2] Protestant missionaries founded Punaha in 1841. [3]
In 2006, it was named America’s Greenest School. [4] [5] In 2017, the Punahou sports program was ranked second in the national MaxPreps Cup rankings. [6]
Punahou’s student body is diverse and student selection is based on both academic and non-academic considerations. [7]
In 1795, King Kamehameha I captured the land known as Ka Punahou in battle. Together with Ka Punahou, he donated a total of 225 acres (0.91 km 2 ) of land (from the slope of Round Top to the current Central Union Church, which included a 77-acre (310,000 m 2 ) site in the Kewalo Basin ). Chief Kameiyamoku as a reward for his loyalty. After Kameiyamoku’s death, the land passed to his son Ulumaheihei Hoapili, who lived there for another 20 years. When Hoapili left to become Governor of Maui, he gave the land to his daughter Queenie Liliha. [8]
Liliha and her husband, Governor of Oahu Boki, gave Ka Punahou to Rev. Hyrum Bingham, one of the first Protestant missionaries in Hawaii. [9] Queen Kaahumanu was a strong believer in the mission and built a house for herself near Bingham. Part of the stone wall she built to protect the complex from roaming cattle has survived.
Punahou School was originally a school for the children of missionaries serving throughout the Pacific. It was the first English-only school west of the Rocky Mountains and east of Asia.
