Girls 3rd through 8th Grade Traveling
Program runs weeknights and Saturdays beginning April 1st and running through June. Players will be placed on teams per grade level (3rd/4th,
5th/6th, 7th/8th) and broken down in accordance with NJGLL rules and regulations. Each team will have 1 to 2 practices per week and 1 to 2 games per
week. Players must provide their own mouth guard, lacrosse stick, goggles and cleats.

Anyone requiring a new uniform or pinnie must go to the PAL website at www.vernonpal.com and purchase them (new players only will receive a pinnie with their registration). Uniforms must be ordered at the

Kindergarten – 2nd Grade In-town Program
– This program is designed for young players in Kindergarten-2nd grades to teach them
basic skills and help them become familiar with the game. This is a non-contact instructional program. This program normally runs two nights a week from mid-April through mid-June
(Subject to change). PAL will provide a reversible practice jersey for the duration of the season (this will have to be returned at the end of the season). The
player must provide their own mouth guard, lacrosse stick, goggles and cleats. There are no games or travel outside Vernon required for this
program.

Are all games played in Pueblo or is travel required?
Both the boys and the girls divisions will require some travel. At this time we are looking at Festival style weekends. For the girls we will have to travel once to Vail and New Mexico. Girls will also have a weekend in Pueblo and one in Colorado Springs. For the boys we are still working on specifics and will update when we have all the information.
Can my player play up a level rather than with their grade level?
All players will initially be assigned to a program based on age and grade level. It will be determined by the Coaches and Directors, with parental consent, to move a player up or in a rare occasion down a level.
How can I help with Heroes?
Help is always needed with coaching, communication for teams, fundraising, publicity and Board Members. As our children start to age out we are looking to add people to our Board of Directors.
How do we keep families informed?
We use the GroupMe application and email to communicate. Once teams are set you will be invited to join the team(s) for your child(ren). There will be a shareable link to send to family members who need information regarding practices and games.

The Pittsfield Public Schools are seeking applicants for the head varsity and head junior varsity coaching positions for the PHS/Taconic co-op program for the 2018 season.
Per a release from athletic director Jim Abel, Pittsfield is seeking: “The Varsity and JV coaches must have a commitment to administering a program that emphasizes integrity and the educational and personal welfare of its student-athletes. The team is a co-op program, with a roster made up of female students from both Pittsfield High and Taconic. Candidates will be responsible for managing, organizing, and administering all phases of the lacrosse program in accordance with MIAA regulations and Pittsfield Public School policies. Ability to teach fundamental lacrosse skills, playing rules and game strategies is required.”

I crawled out onto the West Side Highway and, with difficulty moving my legs, ran towards the house.I covered three kilometers in twenty-five minutes – a pitiful result, even taking into account the forced stops before the pedestrian crossing.

By the end of the first course, I could already put on those same beige slacks without even undoing the buttons.
