Choosing the Right Program for Your Goals

Career Objectives
Reflect on your long-term career goals. Are you looking to advance in your current field, or are you considering a career change? Certain programs, like the MBA or Healthcare Administration M.S., can open doors across multiple industries, while others, such as the Medical Dosimetry M.S., are more specialized.
Time Commitment
Assess how much time you can realistically devote to your studies. Graduate certificates typically require less time to complete than full master’s programs, making them an excellent option for those seeking to quickly gain new skills or test the waters of a particular field.
Current Skill Set
Consider your existing knowledge and skills. Some programs may have prerequisites or assume a certain level of background knowledge. For example, the Data Science M.S. might be more suitable for those with a strong quantitative background, while the Student Affairs Administration M.S.Ed. could be ideal for professionals already working in higher education settings.
Industry Trends
Research current and projected trends in your industry. Programs like the Cybersecurity M.S. or the Emerging Technologies in FinTech Certificate align with rapidly growing fields, potentially offering strong job prospects upon completion.
Financing Your Online Education
While the original text doesn’t provide specific information about financing options, it’s crucial to consider the financial aspect of pursuing an online degree or certificate. Here are some general considerations for funding your education:
Financial Aid
Many online students are eligible for federal financial aid. This can include grants, loans, and work-study programs. To determine your eligibility, you’ll need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Employer Tuition Assistance
Some employers offer tuition reimbursement or assistance programs for employees pursuing relevant degrees or certificates. Check with your human resources department to see if such benefits are available.
Scholarships and Grants
Research scholarship opportunities specific to your field of study or demographic group. Many professional organizations and private foundations offer scholarships for graduate students.
Payment Plans
UW-La Crosse may offer payment plans that allow you to spread the cost of tuition over the course of the semester or academic year, making it more manageable for working professionals.
Return on Investment
When considering the cost of your education, it’s important to weigh it against the potential long-term benefits. How might an advanced degree or certificate impact your earning potential or career trajectory? This can help you determine if the investment is worthwhile for your specific situation.

HISTORY
SUMMARY
Lacrosse is a
contact sport between two teams using a
small rubber ball and a
special stick. The goal of the game
is to throw the ball into the opponent’s goal
with a stick
.
TIME AND PLACE OF ORIGIN
The game was invented by the American Indians, who used it
to train warriors and peacefully resolve conflicts
between tribes. According to archaeological data
studies, the prototype of lacrosse was known in
territory of modern Canada already at the beginning of the 15th century.
Teams at that time often consisted of several hundred
people, and the length of the field for the game ranged from
several hundred meters to several kilometers.
European settlers got acquainted with this game in the
17th century, and by the beginning of the 19th century it began to gain popularity among the
French population of Canada.
The first official lacrosse match took place in Canada at
1867.
Lacrosse was twice included in the program of the
Summer Olympic Games – in 1904 and 1908, and also
was a demonstration sport at the 1928,
1932 and 1948 Olympics.
