Grippy Lacrosse Balls Make Reps Matter – Signature Lacrosse
Watching a lacrosse player take the ball out of their stick during practice to exchange it with a grippy lacrosse ball is a very sad sight. This means that the first lacrosse ball is no longer good enough for useful reps, and the lacrosse team is going to need to stock up on lacrosse balls again soon. Our Founder, Dan Soviero, was tired of seeing this happen and decided that enough was enough when it comes to greasy lacrosse balls without enough grip. After realizing that he needed to create a lacrosse ball that was made differently than the others in the market, Dan started Signature Lacrosse to solve problems for lacrosse players and advance the sport.
Lacrosse players love “grippy” lacrosse balls that let them really feel the ball, but that feeling goes away too quickly with regular lacrosse balls. By redesigning the composition of the lacrosse ball and how it’s made, Signature lacrosse balls stay grippy for longer than the competition and make greasers a distant memory. These longer lasting grippy lacrosse balls from Signature Lacrosse make reps matter more by simulating the feel of the fresh lacrosse balls used in games and preparing lacrosse players for the moments that matter most.
How Do Lacrosse Balls Lose Their Grip?
Lacrosse balls are solid, but their surfaces are porous. With thousands of smalls little crevices, lacrosse balls lose their grip when dirt, dust, or sediment finds its way into the surface of the ball. In a similar way to how your skin gets dirtier or greasier when oils and grime get into your pores, the same happens to most lacrosse balls.
Another way that lacrosse balls lose their grip is by having these pores on the surface “burnt’ off. The friction caused by lacrosse balls coming out of your pocket, hitting the net, or running along the ground can actually reduce the grip of most lacrosse balls. This is because those pores mentioned above enhance the grip of a lacrosse ball. All of that friction smooths out the surface of your lacrosse ball and leaves you with a greasy lacrosse ball nobody wants.
How Signature Lacrosse Balls Stay So Grippy
While we can’t share all of our secrets, Signature Lacrosse balls stay grippy thanks to the developments made by our amazing team. We’ve researched the rubbers, we’ve tested the prototypes, and we’ve made millions of lacrosse balls in the pursuit of a better lacrosse ball. During all of that, we were able to develop our proprietary formula that truly makes a lacrosse ball everyone wants to play with. Our Signature Premium lacrosse balls stay grippy throughout use, weather, and time; which are the main causes of lacrosse balls getting greasy.
Signature Lacrosse Pro S1 Lacrosse Balls – The Ultimate Grippy Lacrosse Balls
For those who want to kick things up a notch, Signature Lacrosse has created our new Pro S1 Lacrosse Ball that features surface dimples for added grip and feel. This “shooters ball” debuted in the 20th season of the MLL as the official lacrosse ball of the league and has made waves throughout the lacrosse world. Using the same things we learned in making our Signature Premium lacrosse balls, we created a lacrosse ball that flies better, can be seen more easily, and, of course, has more grip. If you don’t trust what we have to say, just ask some MLL professional lacrosse players.

MLL Moving to Standard, Non-Grippy Balls in 2014
Remember in 2006 when the NBA experimented with a synthetic ball and the players revolted (and got paper cut-like scrapes on their hands) and commissioner David Stern reverted to the leather ball on Jan. 1, 2007?
(If you don’t remember, here’s a link to Morning Edition’s take on the story, which is high-comedy given the absurdity of Renee Montagne talking about a basketball.)
Well, Major League Lacrosse may be facing a similar situation, and it involves the league’s unique “grippy” ball losing its grippiness.
For those who’ve never touched an MLL lacrosse ball, it’s kind of a cross between the rough surface of a worn out baseball and the dimples of a golf ball. Here’s a pretty decent close-up shot from MLL’s Pinterest page.
MLL commissioner Dave Gross Informed the teams in January that the league would be switching to smooth, standard orange balls for the 2014 season and the issue blew up on Twitter yesterday when Chesapeake Bayhawk coach and President tweeted:
I still don’t understand why we are not using the grippy ball. It is the best ball in lacrosse and making a change without player input is ?
— Dave Cottle (@CoachCottle) April 10, 2014
As you can tell from the conversation beneath the original tweet, it attracted quite a bit of a attention, including from players for whom the tweet broke the news.
Gross said Friday that the decision was made to make the ball more visible on TV and that there were no safety or sponsorship issues that played a part in the decision.
“We talked to pretty much all our TV partners,” Gross said. “Everyone we talked to agreed that the grippy ball wasn’t as visible.”
As for why or how the ball’s texture could affect its visibility, Gross said, “The belief has been that [the grippy balls] have attracted dirt.” He added, “By not using grippy balls, we can use a brighter shade of orange.”
The news elicited pretty severe reactions from players for two reasons — first because they weren’t consulted in the decision, and second because they consider it a superior ball.
As for the first point, Gross said: “This was a league decision to improve the quality for broadcasting. There’s a business aspect not a playing aspect that made this decision.” As for whether he’s surprised that an apparently minor change could elicit such a significant reaction, he said “I’m not surprised at all. Teams let us now that the players would not be happy about it.”
As for the second point, both offensive players and goalies lamented the loss of the grippy balls. Perhaps the grippy ball’s primary advantage is that its surface doesn’t loss it’s roughness or turn slippery; essentially, it’s “shiner” proof — shiner being the common term for when a ball is used, especially on field turf-like surfaces, to the point that it becomes slippery.
Perhaps more difficult to prove, there’s a belief that the rough surface allows players to put action on their shots that prevent the ball from going straight, making it more difficult to track as a goaltender.
The players at the MLL level can curve the ball when they shoot. A bye product of this rule could be a reduction in scoring.
— Dave Cottle (@CoachCottle) April 10, 2014
So will the players’ reaction elicit change? Maybe, maybe not.
“If going to the non-grippy ball does not improve the broadcast quality, we would be open to anything,” Gross said, including a return to the grippy ball. He added that they’d evaluate the change over the 2014 season and reconsider heading into the 2015 season.
MLL’s Ban of “Grippy Balls” Leads to Different Scoring – In Lacrosse We Trust
Before this Major League Lacrosse season a big deal was made about the league changing the balls they have used. Since its inception, MLL has used “grippy balls” that have tiny dimples in the ball, not unlike a golf ball. This is compared to the flat ball used by other lacrosse leagues including the NCAA. Here are two pictures to compare them. (Photo Credit: Lax All Stars)
Before the season, the league changed using the balls, claiming that dirt got stuck inside the tiny dimples and made the ball harder to see on television. The grippy ball, since it had the dimples, had a tendency to curve slightly on shots with high velocity. This made long distance shots and scoring much more interesting, and goalies had a harder time making saves.
This may seem like a minuscule part of the game, maybe only impacting the league in the slightest of ways. Maybe the players even over reacted to it, one might think. But after some research into the numbers, something in the league has changed.
Keep in mind, this season several MLL players did not miss the start of the season as they typically do. Usually MLL players will start the season with an NLL team, however, several opted for just MLL this season. This includes Brendan Mundorf, Kevin Buchanan, and Kyle Hartzell. The top players are playing, so scoring should be higher.
However, it is not.
Almost every MLL scoring statistic is down after eight games. The biggest impact is probably two point shots, which are down this year. There have been six two point goals through eight games this season and there were 15 at this time last year, including a game which had five two point goals on its own.
Why would this be a big impact? Two point goals are shot much further out than regular goals, and most of them are shot near 100 mph. With the distance and velocity the ball curves more than on other shots. This makes the ball move in different directions and is harder for the goaltender to save. Thus, this is making two point goals more of a rarity than in years past.
Interestingly, shooting percentage is also down, with this season seeing a .270 average and last season at this time it was .284. Teams are averaging .3 shots on net more (from 26 shots to 26.3 per game) than last year as well, though that would minimally impact the shooting percentage.
We reached out to Chesapeake Bayhawks head coach Dave Cottle who was vocally against the league eliminating the grippy ball. He told us, “The MLL had the best ball in lacrosse. It no longer does. The non grippy ball isn’t any more visible than the grippy one. Bring grippy ball back!”
Last year teams combined to average 24.5 points per game. This year it is down by an entire goal and is 23.4 points per game. The teams are averaging 11.7 goals per game on their own and last season it was 12.3.
With most of the American indoor players playing MLL only this season, the scoring should probably be up. Instead, it is down by an entire goal per game two weeks into the season, and two point shots have become a commodity. Does this all have to do with the lack of grippy ball?
These numbers don’t indicate anything other than scoring is down. Is defense just better than it was before? The only thing that changed this off season was the grippy ball, therefore, it becomes assumable that the cause is the league getting rid of the grippy ball.
about us | Hedgehog Lacrosse
The Hedgehog Concept
In the book Good to Great, Jim Collins wrote, “The Hedgehog Concept is not a goal to be the best, it is an understanding of what you can be best at!” “Collins calls this “The Hedgehog Concept,” doing one thing and doing it well. In Good to Great, he uses the parable of the clever, devious fox and the simple hedgehog. The fox keeps coming up with new ideas to eat the hedgehog, but the hedgehog handily defeats him by doing his one trick” Smith, S.(2010, March) Do One Thing and Do It Well, Success Mag.
Hedgehog Lacrosse introduced The Ballscratcher® in 2012 and has been saving lacrosse balls, lax budgets, and the environment ever since.
Environmentally Conscious Design
Our patent pending Eco-Friendly lacrosse ball recycler is drill-operated (drill not included). We designed our practice lacrosse ball refurbisher with the idea that a majority of households have cordless drills. Our design allows our unit to be portable, allowing coaches and players to collect and resurface slick balls at their fields before or after play. The Ballscratcher has no internal motor, meaning your unit is lightweight and never needs a wall outlet, and there are no parts to lose! Additionally, you won’t have to worry about motor failure from fine ball dust and dirt accumulating in the bottom of the bucket.
Name-brand 18v cordless drills can usually be found for about $50-$75. We recommend using at least an 18v cordless drill to operate the unit. Corded drills can be used as well, just read the instruction page regarding use with a corded drill.
While we fully anticipate your Ballscratcher® 2.0 and 3.0 will work reliably for thousands and thousands of balls, should repair be needed, all parts can be easily replaced to continue your ball savings. The Ballscratcher® is Proven Tough and Built to Last! When comparing products, compare the warranties! Find our 1-year warranty information on our Terms & Conditions page, and don’t be fooled with expensive knockoffs or build-it-yourself imitations. There is no substitute for The Ballscratcher®!
Resurfacing= Recycling = Savings
Stop throwing away your practice balls when they get slick! Thousands of players, teams, clubs, and families are experienceing the savings! Players, Coaches, Parents, Clubs, High Schools and College Programs are saving thousands of dollars by resurfacing their lacrosse balls for practice! The Ballscratcher® works on NOCSAE and MLL lacrosse balls. One local high school saved over $1000 each season by resurfacing their game balls for practice, they had their Ballscratcher® the past three years, meaning they put thousands of dollars back into their program and season 4 is approaching! CityLax Club in New York City has resurfaced over 3000+ balls in a single season and using a single sanding disc, translating to over $4000 back into their non-profit organization after the purchase of The Ballscratcher® & 3 cases of lacrosse ball! They changed their disc and added the Ballscratcher® 3. 0 also to their program. A case of new balls(120) cost with shipping about $190. That is $1.59 per ball. This translates to over $5000 in practice ball savings by resurfacing lacrosse balls with The Ballscratcher® 2.0. That can be money put back into your wallets and your programs too!
Care for your LAX balls like the rest of your equipment!
Balls left outside in the elements will become stained, moldy and the rubber will harden and become brittle. Balls hardened by prolonged exposure many never regain proper feel or bounce, so take care of them to extend their useful life for practice. It is all about the grippy feel of the balls. Resurfacing with the Ballscratcher® takes about 30 seconds with 5-8 balls so you are just barely scratching the surface.
Store balls inside a protected storage unit to stay fresh longer and away from UV Light. The Ballscratcher® can keep resurfacing the balls until the NOCSAE logo on the ball is no longer visible 18 inches away, about the average of 6 to 12 times. At this point, we recommend discarding these balls after the NOCSAE logo is not visible and replacing them with next batch of your regulation game balls.
PLEASE NOTE: •Intended for practice balls only. •Discard balls when NOCSAE seal no longer visible and legible. •Not recommended to clean greaseless balls •For more information, go to http://nocsae.org/standards/lacrosse.

Guardian Pearl Lacrosse Ball Review
Regular lacrosse balls are manufactured in China, using vulcanized rubber, as well as cheap fillers and oils that are added into the rubber. Over time these materials, specifically the fillers, separate from the molecules of the rubber and go to the surface of the ball. This makes the ball, super hard and very slick, making it loose the natural “grippy” feeling of the ball. Guardian, now has a solution to this problem with their new Pearl ball. The Pearl has the same weight, same bounce and same feel as a normal lacrosse ball. It is also NOSCAE certified and meets NCAA and NFHS specs, making it legal for all levels of play.
The Pearl is made in the USA, with the balls manufactured in Guardian’s facility in Louisville, CO. The Pearl is made with a more advanced elastomeric material, where the actual molecules of the parts collide and crosslink to form one pure polymer. Doing this, without the cheap fillers, prevents the ball from becoming a greaser.
Guardian, sent me a few to try out and I put them to the test in the rough Buffalo weather. The only difference I felt initially when I picked up the Pearl the first time was that it was “squishy-er” than a standard ball, but besides that it seemed to perform exactly the same as a new standard one.
For a month I left one in my backyard to see if it really stayed the same. Knowing that doing this would turn a standard ball into a greaser, I wasn’t too sure of what to expect out of the Pearl. Through the month the ball sat through the Buffalo weather of rain, snow, sleet, freezing rain, hail and ice coming down on it and a range of temperatures from 70 degrees and below freezing. At the end of my test, when i picked it up out of the frozen layers of snow and ice, it felt EXACTLY the same as when I tossed it out there. Same feel, same grip, everything. This made my shots way more accurate than if I did the same thing with a standard ball which would’ve been super hard and very slick after a month of sitting out in the crap weather. It also keeps the ball safer, since it stays soft.
The Pearl is available now in white, yellow and orange. It is a bit more expensive than a standard lacrosse ball, but well worth it in my opinion, as I was very impressed with it. As long as you don’t lose it in the woods or something, these balls will last much longer than you could ever imagine a standard lacrosse ball lasting. These new non-greaser balls are making a much needed change in the industry, which is absolutely going to benefit everyone who uses them.
Taking the Bounce Out of the Ball
Taking the Bounce Out of the Ball

In 2016, The Pearl by Guardian became the official ball of US Lacrosse. Made with a more advanced elastomeric material and innovative manufacturing process, The Pearl removed the slickness and hardening effect of traditional balls, making for a safer product.
Now, Guardian Innovations, maker of The Pearl, has introduced another breakthrough: the No Bounce version of its ball. The newest ball is an option that may be preferred for indoor play and practice. The No Bounce has the same size, weight and softness as the regular Pearl, but the lower coefficient of restitution (COR) means there is less bounce and rebound, translating to less chasing of the ball during practice and indoor play. And similar to the conventional Pearl, it has a grease-free guarantee.
Tony Plagman, sales manager at Guardian Innovations, says that the initial feedback has been extremely positive.
“We rolled these out at LaxCon and they have been very well received,” Plagman said. “They are a great option for indoor play and practice because there is so much less ricochet involved. That’s the main market.”
Due to the lower COR, the No Bounce does not meet the current NOCSAE ball standard and thus is not an option for field play. The No Bounce has a distinct light blue color to help easily differentiate it from balls that meet the NOCSAE standard.
Ryan Baker, founder and president of Wheelchair Lacrosse USA, had a chance to use the No Bounce ball during demo play at the 2018 US Lacrosse Convention in January.
“It’s a very nice, high quality ball,” he said. “The feel of the ball is superior to others that we have tried. The compound in the rubber is much better and offers an enhanced feel in the mesh. The other no bounce balls feel heavier and ultimately lose their grippy feel.”

This article is about a team sport. For other uses, see Lacrosse (disambiguation).
Lacrosse is a team sport played with a lacrosse stick and a lacrosse ball. It is the oldest organized sport in North America, with its origins in a tribal game played by the indigenous peoples of the Eastern Forests and various other indigenous peoples of North America. The game has been significantly modified, reducing the violence from European colonialists to create its current collegial and professional form.
Players use the head of a lacrosse club to carry, pass, catch and score the ball into the goal. This sport has four versions that have different sticks, fields, rules and equipment: field lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, box lacrosse and intercrosse. The men’s games, field lacrosse (outdoor) and boxing lacrosse (indoor), are contact sports and all players wear protective gear: helmet, gloves, shoulder pads and elbow pads. The women’s game is played outdoors and does not allow contact with the body, but does allow stick-to-stick contact. The only protective equipment required for female players is goggles, and goalkeepers wear helmets and protective pads. Intercross is an indoor mixed non-contact sport that uses an all-plastic golf club and a softer ball.
Modern sport is governed by World Lacrosse and is the only international sports organization that recognizes indigenous groups and Indian tribes as sovereign nations. The organization hosts the Men’s World Lacrosse Championships, the Women’s World Lacrosse Championships, the Indoor Boxing World Lacrosse Championships and the Under-19 World Lacrosse Championships for both men and women. Each is held every four years. The Summer Olympics lacrosse was contested at two Summer Olympics, in 1904 and 1908. It was also held as a demonstration event at the 1928, 1932 and 1948 Summer Olympics.
Lacrosse is based on games played by various Native American communities as early as 1100 AD. By the 17th century, the lacrosse version was widespread and documented by Jesuit missionary priests in what is now Canada.
In the traditional Aboriginal Canadian version, each team consisted of 100 to 1000 people on a field several miles (several kilometers) long. These games lasted from sunrise to sunset for two to three days in a row and were played as part of a ceremonial ritual, a kind of symbolic war, or as a token of gratitude to the Creator or Teacher.
Lacrosse has played a significant role in the social and religious life of tribes throughout the continent over the years. Early lacrosse was characterized by a deep spiritual engagement that matched the spirit of the combat in which it was fought. Those who took part did so in the role of warriors with the aim of bringing glory and honor to themselves and their tribes. This game was said to be played “for the Creator” or called the “Creator’s Game.”
Ball Players by George Catlin.
French Jesuit missionary Jean de Breeuf saw the Huronian tribes play the game in 1637 in present-day Ontario. He called it la crossse , “stick” in French. The name seems to be derived from the French term for field hockey, le jeu de la crossse .
James Smith described in some detail a game played by the Mohawk people in 1757, “in which they now used a wooden ball about 3 inches (7.6 cm) in diameter, and the tool they used to move it was solid a staff about 5 feet (1.5 meters) in size.m) long, with a net at the end, large enough to accommodate the ball. ”
The English-speaking residents of Montreal noticed the Iroquois playing the game and started playing it themselves in the 1830s. In 1856, Canadian dentist William George Bierce founded the Montreal Lacrosse Club. In 1860, Bierce systematized the game by shortening the duration of each game and reducing the number of players to 12 per team. The first game played by Bierce’s rules was at Upper Canada College in 1867; they lost 3–1 to the Toronto Cricket Club.
The new sport proved to be very popular and spread in the English-speaking world; by 1900, there were dozens of men’s clubs in Canada, the United States, England, Australia, and New Zealand. The women’s game was introduced to Louise Lumsden in Scotland in 1890.The first women’s club in the United States was started by Rosabelle Sinclair at Bryn Mawr School in 1926.
In the United States, lacrosse in the late 1800s and early 1900s was primarily a regional sport centered around the Mid Atlantic states, especially New York and Maryland. However, in the second half of the 20th century, the sport spread beyond this region and can now be found throughout most of the United States. There are over 825,000 participants nationwide, according to a 2016 survey by US Lacrosse, and lacrosse is the fastest growing team sport among NFHS member schools.
Varieties of lacrosse
Men’s College Lacrosse Field Outline
Field lacrosse is an outdoor sport for men. Each team has ten players: three forwards, three midfielders, three defenders and one goalkeeper. Each player has a lacrosse stick. The short stick is 40 to 42 inches (100 to 110 cm) long and is used by strikers and midfielders. A maximum of four players on the field per team can wear a long stick between 52 and 72 inches (130 and 180 cm) long, which is used by three defenders and sometimes one defensive midfielder. The goalkeeper uses a stick with a head that is 12 inches (30 cm) wide and 40 to 72 inches (100 to 180 cm) long.
The size of the playing field is 110 by 60 yards (101 by 55 m). The gate measures 6 by 6 feet (1.8 by 1.8 m) and is 80 yards (73 m) apart. Each target is located inside a circular “fold” with a diameter of 18 feet (5.5 m). The goalkeeper has special privileges within the court to avoid checking with the opponent’s stick. The hitters or their clubs must not enter the crease at all times. The midfield line divides the field into an offensive and defensive zone for each team. Each team must keep four players in its defense zone and three players in the attack zone at all times. It does not matter which positional players satisfy this requirement, although usually three forwards remain in the attacking zone, three defenders and a goalkeeper remain in the defending zone, and three center players play in both zones. The team violating this rule is offside and either loses possession of the ball, if it has one, or is subject to a technical foul if it does not.
The statutory playing time is 60 minutes, divided into four periods of 15 minutes each. The game begins at the beginning of each quarter and after each goal with a throw-in. During a throw-in, two players place their clubs on the ground parallel to the centerline, with the two clubheads on opposite sides of the ball. On the whistle, the throw-in players take the ball, often “pinching” it under their stick and throwing it to their teammates. When one of the teams has possession of the ball, they carry it into their attacking zone and try to score a goal. According to the offside rule, the calculated game involves six forwards against six defenders and a goalkeeper.
If the ball goes out-of-bounds, possession is awarded to the team that touched it last. The exception is when the ball is directed towards the goal. Missed out-of-bounds are awarded to the team with the player who is closest to the ball when and where the ball goes out. During the game, teams may change players in and out if they leave the field and enter the field through the substitution zone, which is sometimes called on the fly. After penalty kicks and goals, players can be freely substituted and must not go through the substitution area.
Penalties are awarded for violation of the rules and result in the offending team losing possession of the ball (losing possession of the ball) or temporarily losing a player (serving time). While serving the sentence, the penalized team plays with one player less for the duration of the penalty. Fines for serving time may or may not be canceled. After serving a penalty that can be lifted, the offending player may return to the game if the ball is scored by the opposing team during the penalty kick.Irrevocable penalties prevent this and the player must serve all the time. Under the offside rule, the opponent can play with six forwards against five defenders and the goalkeeper of the penalized team. The team that took the penalty kick is considered to be playing against a person, and the other team is playing as a person. Teams will use different lacrosse strategies to attack and defend while the player is punished.
There are two classes of offenses for which penalties are awarded: technical fouls and personal fouls.Technical fouls such as offside, pushing and holding result in either a loss of possession or a 30 second penalty, depending on which team is in possession of the ball. Personal fouls, such as cross-checking, illegal body check or chopping, involve actions that endanger the safety of a player. A cross check is when a player hits another player with the stick between his hands. A slash is when a player hits another player with the end of a stick anywhere other than gloves. These fouls incur penalties of 1 minute or more; the offending player must leave the field.
NLL Boxing Lacrosse Game.
Boxing lacrosse is played by teams of five runners and a goalkeeper on a hockey rink where the ice has been removed or covered with artificial turf, or on an indoor soccer field. An enclosed playing field is called boxing, as opposed to an open playing field in a traditional game. This version of the game was introduced to Canada in the 1930s to promote the hockey arena business outside the ice hockey season. For several years, it nearly supplanted field lacrosse in Canada.
The gate in box lacrosse is smaller than in field lacrosse, traditionally 4 feet (1.2 m) wide and high. In addition, the goalkeeper wears much more protective padding, including a massive bib and armband combination known as the “top”, large shin guards known as leg pads (both of which must comply with strict measurement rules), and goalkeeper masks in hockey style.
The style of play is fast, accelerated due to the tightness of the court and the shot clock. The shot clock requires the attacking team to shoot at the goal within 30 seconds of gaining possession of the ball. Lacrosse with a box is a much more physical game. Since cross-checking is legal in boxing lacrosse, players wear rib pads and shoulder and elbow pads are larger and stronger than those worn by field lacrosse players. Boxing lacrosse players wear a hockey helmet with a lacrosse box cage. There are no offside positions in lacrosse for boxing, players are freely replaced from their benches, like in hockey. However, most players specialize in offense or defense, so it is common for all five runners to replace teammates when their team transitions between offense and defense.
When penalties are imposed, the offending player is sent to the penalty area and his team must play without him or without a man throughout the penalty. Most fouls are minor penalties and last two minutes, major penalties last five minutes. What separates lacrosse with puck (and ice hockey) from other sports is that at the highest levels of professional and youth lacrosse, engaging in a fight does not result in automatic bailouts, but a five-minute major penalty is given.
Boxing lacrosse is played at the highest level in the National Lacrosse League and in the upper classes of the Canadian Lacrosse Association. The National Lacrosse League (NLL) uses some minor rule changes from the Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA). Notably, the gate is 4ft 9 “(1.45m) wide instead of 4ft (1.2m) wide, and games are held in winter. NLL games consist of four fifteen-minute quarters compared to three twenty-minute periods in CLA games.NLL players can only use hollow shaft clubs, while CLA allows solid wood clubs.
The rules of women’s lacrosse differ significantly from men’s lacrosse, first of all, in terms of equipment and the degree of permissible physical contact. Women’s lacrosse rules also differ significantly between the United States and all other countries that play by the International Federation of Lacrosse (FIL) rules. Women’s lacrosse does not allow physical contact, the only protective equipment used is mouthguard and eye protection. In the early 21st century, there was talk of the need to wear a headgear to prevent concussions. In 2008, Florida was the first state to introduce a mandatory headgear for women’s lacrosse. Stick testing is permitted in the women’s game, but only at certain levels of play and within strict rules. Women’s lacrosse also prevents players from having a pocket or loose lacrosse net. The women start the game with a draw instead of a throw-in. The two players stand up and the ball is placed between their club heads while their golf clubs are horizontal at waist level. On the whistle, the players raise their clubs in the air, trying to control the direction of the ball.
The first modern women’s lacrosse game was held at St Leonards’ School in Scotland in 1890. She was introduced by the headmaster, Louise Lumsden, after a visit to Quebec where she saw being played. The first women’s lacrosse team in the United States was formed at Bryn Mawr School in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1926.
Field scheme in women’s lacrosse
Both the number of players and the lines on the field are different from the men’s lacrosse. There are 12 players in the women’s lacrosse, and players must adhere to certain boundaries that are not in the men’s game. The three specific boundaries are the 8 meter “fan” in front of the gate (11 m [36 ft 1 in] internationally), the 12 meter (39 ft 4 in) (8 m [26 ft 3 in] international) semicircle, the surrounding 8-meter fan, and the draw circle in the center of the field, which is used for the draw before the start of the quarter and after the goal. The goal circle is also slightly closer to the endline in women’s lacrosse compared to men’s.In women’s lacrosse, both offensively and defensively, players other than the goalkeeper cannot enter the goal circle; this becomes a “circle violation”. However, at the women’s collegiate level, a new rule was established to allow defenders to pass through the goal circle.
The 8m fan in front of the gate circle has several limitations. Defenders cannot stand inside an 8m fan for more than 3 seconds without sticking stick distance from the attacking player they are defending. This is very similar to
the three-second rule in basketball. For a three-second offense, a player of the other team takes a free kick to the goalkeeper. If you are an attacker trying to score the ball into the goal, you must not shoot while the defender is in the shooting area. To make sure that you, the defender, are safe, you must lead your lacrosse club, and once you are within club distance, you may be in front of it.
Intercross, or soft stick lacrosse, is a non-contact form of lacrosse with a standardized set of rules using modified lacrosse equipment. The cross-country golf club is different from a regular lacrosse club, the head is made entirely of plastic rather than the leather or nylon pockets in traditional lacrosse clubs. The ball is larger, softer, and hollow, unlike a lacrosse ball, which is made of hard rubber.
Intercross is an adult competitive sport popular in Quebec, Canada, as well as in many European countries, especially the Czech Republic. Teams typically have five players on each side, and the field is 20 m (66 ft) wide and 40 m (130 ft) long. The adult gate is the same size as the boxing lacrosse gate, 4 feet or 1.2 m in height and width. The international governing body, the International Cross Country Federation, hosts the World Championships twice a year.
Soft stick lacrosse is a popular way to introduce young people to the sport. It can be played outdoors or indoors, and there is also a program for physical education.
Lacrosse has historically played mostly in Canada and the United States, with small but dedicated lacrosse communities in the United Kingdom and Australia.Recently, however, lacrosse has begun to flourish internationally and teams have been created all over the world, especially in Europe and East Asia.
In August 2008, men’s international governing body, the International Lacrosse Federation, teamed up with the women’s, the International Federation of Women’s Lacrosse Associations, to form the International Lacrosse Federation (FIL). FIL changed its name to World Lacrosse in May 2019. There are currently 62 countries participating in the World Lacrosse.
World Lacrosse sponsors five World Cup events: the Men’s World Lacrosse Championship, the Women’s World Lacrosse Championship, the Boxing World Indoor Lacrosse Championship and the Men’s Under-19 World Lacrosse Championship for both men and women. Each is held every four years.
The World Lacrosse Championship (WLC) began in 1968 as a four-team invitational tournament sponsored by the International Lacrosse Federation.Until 1990, it included only the United States, Canada, England and Australia. With the expansion of the game internationally, 38 countries took part in the 2014 World Lacrosse Championship. The WLC was dominated by the United States. Team USA won 9 of the 12 titles, while Canada won three others.
Women’s World Lacrosse Championship (WLWC) began in 1982. The US won 8 of 10 titles, while Australia won two others. Canada and England have always been in the top five. The 2017 tournament was held in England, 25 countries took part in it.
The first World Indoor Lacrosse Championship (WILC) was held in 2003 and is contested by six countries at four sites in Ontario. Canada won the championship by defeating the Iroquois Nationals 21–4 in the final. The 2007 championship, organized by the Onondaga Nation, featured 13 teams. Canada dominated the competition, winning all four gold medals and never losing a single game.
In Iroquois Citizens are the men’s national teams representing six nations in the Iroquois in the international lacrosse field competition. The team was admitted to the FIL in 1987. It is the only First Nations team qualified to compete internationally in any sport. The Nationals finished fourth at the 1998, 2002 and 2006 World Lacrosse Championships and third in 2014. The indoor team has won silver medals in all four Indoor Lacrosse World Championships. In 2008, the Iroquois women’s team was admitted to the FIL as National Haudenosaunee Champions. They finished 7th at the 2013 Women’s Lacrosse World Championship.
Lacrosse Field was a sports medal in the 1904 and 1908 Summer Olympics. In 1904, three teams competed at games held in St. Louis. It was attended by two Canadian teams, the Winnipeg Shamrocks and the Mohawk team of the Iroquois Confederation, as well as the local St. Louis Athletics Association team representing the United States. Winnipeg shamrocks won the gold medal. The 1908 Games, held in London, England, were attended by only two teams representing Canada and Great Britain. The Canadians again won the gold medal in the only match of the championship with a score of 14-10.
At the 1928, 1932 and 1948 Summer Olympics, lacrosse was a demonstration sport. The 1928 Olympics in Amsterdam featured three teams: the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. The 1932 Los Angeles Games was an exhibition of three games between the Canadian star team and the United States. The United States was represented by Johns Hopkins at the 1928 and 1932 Olympics. The 1948 Games were an All England team exhibit organized by the English Lacrosse Union and the Collegiate Lacrosse Team from Rensselaer Polytechnic representing the United States. This exhibition match ended with a score of 5-5.
Attempts have been made to include lacrosse as an exemplary sport at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, and the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, but have not been successful.
Insufficient international participation is an obstacle to the return of lacrosse to the Olympics. To qualify for the Olympic Games, the sport must be played on four continents and in no less than 75 countries. Lacrosse is played on all six continents, but as of August 2019, when Ghana joined it, only 63 countries were playing the sport.
The player makes a dive throw.
The European Lacrosse Federation (ELF) was established in 1995 and hosted the first European Lacrosse Championship this year. The event was originally held annually, now it is held every four years, in between the men’s and women’s FIL championships. In 2004, 12 men’s and 6 women’s teams took part in the tournament, making it the largest international lacrosse event of the year. The last men’s tournament was in 2016, when 24 countries participated in it. England won the ninth gold medal out of ten played tournaments. 2015 was the last women’s tournament with 17 teams in the Czech Republic.England won their sixth gold medal, Wales won silver and Scotland won bronze. These three countries from the UK have dominated the women’s championships, earning all but three medals since the tournament began in 1996. The ELF currently has 29 members and constitutes the majority of the nations in the FIL.
The Asia Pacific Lacrosse Union was founded in 2004 by Australia, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan. It currently has 12 members and hosts the Asia Pacific Championships every two years for both the men’s and women’s teams.
For the first time, lacrosse was played at the World Games at the 2017 World Games held in Poland. Only women’s teams took part in the competition. The United States won the gold medal by beating Canada in the final. Australia won the bronze medal match. Howdenosauni CITIZENS women lacrosse team may not participate.
Lacrosse in the USA
Lacrosse for men in college
Collegiate lacrosse in the United States is played at the NCAA, NAIA and club levels. There are currently 71 NCAA Men’s Division I lacrosse teams, 93 Division II teams, and 236 Division III teams. There are 32 schools participating at the NAIA level. 184 men’s club teams compete in the men’s student lacrosse association, including most universities and colleges outside the northeastern United States. The National College Lacrosse League and the Great Lakes Lacrosse League are the other two bottom divisions of the league. In Canada, 14 teams from Ontario and Quebec play field lacrosse in the fall as part of the University of Canada Field Lacrosse Association.
The first US intercollegiate men’s lacrosse game was played on November 22, 1877 between New York University and Manhattan College. The sport’s organizing organization, the United States National Lacrosse Association, was founded in 1879, and the first intercollegiate lacrosse tournament was held in 1881 when Harvard beat Princeton 3-0 in a championship game. The annual end-of-season championships in the 1930s were awarded by various early lacrosse associations. From 1936 to 1972, the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association awarded the Wingate Memorial Trophy to the College’s Best Lacrosse Team each year.
The NCAA began sponsoring the men’s lacrosse championship in 1971 when Cornell won his first title over Maryland, 12-6. Syracuse holds 10 Division I titles, Johns Hopkins 9 and Princeton 6. The NCAA National Championship Weekend draws over 80,000 fans.
Lacrosse Women’s College
There are currently 112 Division I women’s lacrosse teams, 109 Division II teams and 282 Division III teams. There are 36 NAIA women’s lacrosse teams in total. The NCAA began sponsoring the Women’s Lacrosse Championship in 1982. Maryland has traditionally dominated the women’s intercollegiate game, producing many head coaches and US national team players. The Terrapins have won seven consecutive NCAA championships from 1995 to 2001.The Princeton women’s teams have made it to the final game seven times since 1993 and have won three NCAA titles, in 1993, 2002, and 2003. In recent years, Northwestern has become a force, winning the national championship since 2005 to 2009. Maryland ended Northwestern’s streak by defeating the Wildcats in the 2010 finals, however Northwestern won the next two titles in 2011 and 2012. Maryland claimed the national championship again in 2014, 2015 and 2017.
The Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Associates (WCLA) is a collection of over 260 college club teams that are organized in the US by Lacrosse. The teams are divided into two divisions and different leagues.
Major League Lacrosse
Major League Lacrosse (MLL) is a semi-professional field lacrosse league founded in 2001 by six teams in the northeastern United States. The league currently has nine teams in the US East and Denver, with a 14-game season from April to August. The MLL rules are based on the NCAA men’s rules with a few exceptions such as the 16-yard two-point line and 60-second shot timer.
MLL venues range from small stadiums with a capacity of up to 10,000 to the 76,000-seat NFL stadium in Denver. Overall, the league has average attendance of about 4,000 per game, but since its founding in 2006, Denver has averaged about 10,000 per game.Rookie salaries are $ 7,000 per season, and most players earn between $ 10,000 and $ 20,000 per season. So the players have other jobs, often unrelated to lacrosse, and they go to games on weekends.
Chesapeake Bayhawks, who have played in the Annapolis-Baltimore-Washington, DC area since 2001, are the franchise’s most successful five championships.
National Lacrosse League
The National Lacrosse League (NLL) is the men’s semi-professional lacrosse boxing league in North America. The NLL currently has nine teams, five in the US and four in Canada. The regular season with 18 games runs from December to April; games are always on weekends. In early June, the champion is awarded the National Lacrosse League Cup.
Games are held on skating rinks with artificial ice cover. Venues range from 19,000 seat NHL arenas to smaller arenas with less than 10,000 seats. In 2017, average attendance ranged from 3,200 per game in Vancouver to over 15,000 in Buffalo.Overall, the league averaged 9,500 people per game.
With an average salary of about $ 20,000 per season, players have regular jobs, mostly unrelated to lacrosse, and live in different cities, flying to town to play. Canadians and Native Americans make up over 90% of the players.
NLL began operations in 1987 as the Eagle Pro Box Lacrosse League. Teams from Philadelphia, New Jersey, Baltimore and Washington, DC played a 6-game season. The league operated as the Major League of Indoor Lacrosse from 1989 to 1997, with six teams playing on a 10-game schedule. The current NLL name began in the 1998 season, which featured the first Canadian team.
The most successful franchises were Toronto Rock and the now defunct Philadelphia Wings, each of which won six championships.
Premier League Lacrosse
In October 2018, former MLL player Paul Rabil split from MLL and created the Premier Lacrosse League. PLL is focused on becoming a roving lacrosse league that will bring the world’s best players to different cities in the United States.
United Women’s Lacrosse League
The United Women’s Lacrosse League (UWLX), a four-team women’s lacrosse league, was launched in 2016. Teams: Baltimore Ride, Boston Storm, Long Island Sound and Philadelphia Force. Long Island won the first two championships.
Women’s Professional Lacrosse League
In Women The Professional Lacrosse League is a 5-team professional women’s lacrosse league that began in 2018.
Women’s lacrosse stick
A lacrosse stick consists of two parts: a head and a shaft. The head consists of three parts: scoop, sidewall and pocket. The scoop is the top of the club that affects the ground ball rebound, pass and throw. The sidewall is the side of the head that affects head depth and stiffness. The pocket is a leather or nylon mesh attached to the sidewall and scoop. A wider pocket makes balls easier to catch, but also reduces ball control.A narrower pocket makes it harder to catch, but provides a more precise hold on the ball.
Shafts are usually made of hollow metal. They are octagonal rather than round for better grip. Most are made from aluminum, titanium, scandium, or alloys, but some shafts are made from other materials, including wood, plastic, carbon fiber, or fiberglass.
The length of the club, both the handle and the head together, is governed by NCAA regulations, which requires men’s golf clubs to be 40 to 42 inches (100 to 110 cm) long for hitters and 52 to 72 inches (130 to 180 cm ) for defenders.and 40 to 72 inches (100 to 180 cm) long for goalkeepers.
Ladies’ clubs shall be 35.5-43.25 inches (90.2-109.9 cm) overall length. The head should be seven to nine inches wide, and the top of the ball should remain above the sidewalls when it falls into the pocket. The goalkeeper’s stick must be 35.5-48 inches (90-122 cm) long. The goalkeeper’s stick head can be up to 12 inches (30 cm) wide and the pocket can be mesh.
The ball is made of durable rubber. It is usually white for men’s lacrosse or yellow for women’s lacrosse; but also produced in a wide variety of colors such as yellow, orange or light green according to the Rules and Interpretations of Male Lacrosse. At the college level, the lacrosse ball is orange.
Men’s Field Protective Gear
Men’s Field Lacrosse Protective Gear includes a pair of gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads, helmet, mouthguard and cleats. Pads vary in size and protection from player to player based on position, ability, comfort, and preference. For example, many attacking players wear larger and more protective elbow pads to protect themselves from checks thrown to them, while defenders usually wear smaller and less protective pads due to their less chance of being checked, and goalkeepers usually do not wear elbow pads due to very limited verification capabilities. The goalkeeper must also wear a large chest pad to cover his stomach and chest, and a plastic neck guard that connects to the chin of his helmet to protect him from blows that hit his windpipe. In addition, male goalkeepers are required to wear a protective cup.
Men’s Protective Gear
Men’s boxers wear more protective gear than fielders due to more frequent physical contact and stricter screening rules. Rear cross-check is permitted by the rules. Runners wear larger, heavier elbow pads and stronger shoulder pads that extend to the back of the player. Ribbed pads are also worn by most players. Goalkeepers wear equipment very similar to hockey goaltenders, with slightly smaller foot blockers, although the shoulder pads are larger than hockey pads.
Women’s Field Protective Gear
Women field players are not required to wear protective equipment other than goggles and mouthguards. Glasses are a metal cage that covers the eyes, attached with a strap at the back of the head. In recent years, there has been a debate about whether or not soft headgear should be used to protect against concussion. Female goalkeepers wear a helmet, gloves and a bib.

Warning: Many areas of the East Side have a bad reputation. While the dangers of visiting the East Side are often exaggerated, exercise caution, especially at night.
GiGi’s Restaurant, 257 E. Ferry Street (+1 716 883-1438). Located on the corner of East Ferry Street and Jefferson Avenue, GiGi’s opened in 1960. The restaurant is considered one of the best in Buffalo and has received excellent reviews from sources such as Artvoice and Buffalo Rising. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here. GiGi’s is where patrons know each other by name. Collard greens, mashed potatoes, pork chops and mac and cheese are just a few of the southern dishes on offer at GiGi’s. However, the area is not very safe after dark. $ 10-20.
Pho 99, Bailey Avenue 3398 (+1 716 836-6058).Founded in 1999 (hence the name) and since 2003 has been located on Bailey Avenue within walking distance of the University of Buffalo South Campus. Pho 99 is a Vietnamese restaurant popular with students and teachers. The noodles, fried rice, and entrees are great, but the restaurant’s signature dish is pho, Vietnamese rice noodle soup, bean sprouts, green chili, basil, mint leaves, and lime juice. Raw beef is added to the soup, which has time to boil in a scalding hot broth before the soup is served.Pho 99 offers one of the best pho in the world and this is no exaggeration. Pho 99 is located between the relatively “good” area of University Heights and the working-class residential area of Kensington Bailey, but the area is fairly safe, especially during the day. $ 10-20.
Local chain restaurants
Most of the national chain restaurants can be found in Buffalo. However, Buffalo also has several local and regional networks that are beloved by Western New Yorkers.
Anderson’s Frozen Custard.Since 1946, the Anderson family has run this chain of eateries that are hugely popular with Buffalo residents, especially during the summer months. One of Anderson’s Frozen Custard specialties is roast beef. The beef sandwich on a salted bun is pretty good, but pales in comparison to Charlie the Butcher’s and Schwabl’s. Anderson’s Frozen Custard has a great selection of desserts: frozen custards, milkshakes, popsicles, hard and soft ice creams. Anderson’s Frozen Custard is located in seven locations, including restaurants in northern Buffalo and the Amherst suburbs, Chiktowag, Kenmore, Lancaster, Lockport, and Williamsville.
Charlie the Butcher. Charles E. Resch was not the inventor of the beef on a salted bun – that honor went to Schwabl, which opened in 1837 on the East Side and later moved to the West Seneca suburb, but he and his descendants popularized it significantly. Charles E. Roesch and Company butcher shop was founded in 1914 and has operated in the Broadway market for over eighty years. From 1930 to 1934 it was run by the restaurant owner and, concurrently, the mayor of Buffalo. His grandson, Charles W., continues the family business at his Charlie the Butcher’s Kitchen in Chiktowag, which was visited by Mark Russell, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Denise Austin, Tim Russert and Regis Philbin, and at five other Charlie the Butcher Express restaurants. in downtown Buffalo, as well as the suburbs of Chiktovagi, Williamsville, Orchard Park and East Aurora. In addition, Charlie the Butcher roast beef can be found in many supermarkets and grocery stores in Erie and Niagara counties. Charlie also supplies beef on a salted bun to television shows such as Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, and FoodNation with Bobby Flay, and appears in magazines such as Gourmet and Martha Stewart Living.
Jim’s Steakout. Jim’s Steakout’s credo – “If you’re up, we’re probably already open” – attracts many late-night party people, college students and similar night owls all over Buffalo to this restaurant (indeed, most restaurants are open until 05:00).Jim’s Steakout serves hamburgers, tacos, chicken wings, chicken sticks and fast food of a similar nature, but it’s their famous steak sandwiches (with lettuce, tomatoes, melted cheese, fried onions and secret sauce) that made this place really popular. Jim’s Steakout restaurants are located in five locations in Buffalo (Allentown, Chippewa Street Entertainment District, Elmwood Village, University Heights and North Buffalo) and five suburban locations (two in Amherst and one each in Tonawanda, West Seneca and East Aurora).
Louie’s Texas Red Hots. Founded in 1967, Louie’s Texas Red Hots is a local chain of five restaurants. This is perhaps the most famous place in Buffalo that specializes in Texas hot dogs. The menu also includes other standard fast food: regular hot dogs, hamburgers, milkshakes, chicken sticks, French fries, and the like; there are also Greek-style dishes (cheeseburgers with feta, pita bread, rice pudding and baklava). Louie’s two restaurants are located in Buffalo (North Buffalo and Kensington Bailey) and three in the suburbs (West Seneca, Depew and Orchard Park).
Mighty Taco. Perhaps the largest and most famous local chain restaurant, Mighty Taco is a Mexican fast food that was founded in 1973 and now boasts nineteen restaurants in Buffalo. Mighty Taco also recently opened a restaurant in Rochester Market. Although the restaurant has gotten a lot worse over the past few years, it still has a fan following. The restaurant offers El Niño burritos and an extensive range of “roastitos”, as well as seasonal offerings such as chipotli chili and barbecue beef burritos.Mighty Taco is known for showing unique, somewhat psychedelic commercials, especially at night.
SPoT Coffee. SPoT Coffee is renowned not only for its excellent coffee, gourmet sandwiches, soups, salads, pastries and other snacks, but also for its close attention to the history and identity of each of Buffalo’s communities, which is reflected in the individual recipes and décor of each coffee house. SPoT Coffee was bought in 2004 by a group of Toronto investors, but Buffalo residents still claim it as theirs as the coffee chain was founded in Buffalo and most of the coffee houses were opened before the change of ownership. In addition to new locations in Rochester, Toronto and Delray Beach, Florida, four SPoT Coffee shops are located in the Buffalo area: Elmwood Village, Chippewa Strip, North Buffalo and Williamsville.
Ted’s Hot Dogs. Served here since 1927 by three generations of the Liaros family, grilled hot dogs have made Ted’s one of Buffalo’s favorites. Locally sourced Sahlen sausages are grilled in front of your eyes with standard spices, ketchup, mustard, onions and cucumbers, and chili and cheese can be added for a nominal surcharge. -dogs).Burgers, French fries, onion rings, cocktails and soft drinks. Unfortunately, the first Ted’s Hot Dogs restaurant on the West Side waterfront closed in the 1990s, but there are still seven locations in the chain in the suburbs of Amherst, Lancaster, Lockport, North Tonawanda, Orchard Park, Tonawanda and Williamsville (the eighth will open soon in Chiktovaag ), as well as one in Tempe, Arizona, where the owner of the chain Spiro Liar lives
90 000 Let me introduce myself
He trudged to his room. There, on the nightstand, the books presented by Serdar were already covered with a thin layer of dust. It was also planned to start learning namaz on the first day of fasting. Ertan did not want to sit in the room as if he was alone and berate himself, he decided to while away the failed evening with one of his acquaintances.
I went out into the corridor, knocked on the door opposite, Musa and Chingiz lived behind it. The cousins were about to go out. What kind of iftar is this, I wonder? Musa broke into a smile and winked at him. This is not what he was looking for on the first night of Ramadan.
How to pick up a girl on the network
How to meet a girl and please her. Maintain eye contact, but don’t overwhelm her with your gaze, and be sure to. How to meet a girl without knowing anything about her! Or he can take it to her apartment, I know about the number of a bunch of flowers and say.
Where to go? Ertan knocked on another door. Abdulbasit and Rakhmet are not God only knows which righteous, but they seem to be not such revelers as the previous two turned out to be. Last year, such delicious samsa was handed out, it’s not a pity to take a little ride. But tomorrow I will, inshallah! I’ll go with you anyway, okay?
I’ll just change. Ertan dashed to himself with lightning, put on the first street clothes he came across. The mosque is what you need, it will take a closer look at the same time as they read namaz. Not praying at this time is a thousand times worse, but praying is a thousand times better. They arrived at a small mosque in the center of Moscow.
How to get acquainted with a girl what to write. How to meet a girl on the Internet
The collective evening prayer just ended, they began to distribute samsa and sweets. Here and there were trays of meaty Iranian dates, bottles of water. Abdulbasit and Rakhmet stood up to read namaz, Ertan sat down by the wall, embarrassed to join other Muslims alone, who were divided into groups according to the number of trays. But amid such a strict distribution, it was difficult to remain unnoticed – a guy of about twenty, blond-haired and blue-eyed, like the Northern Turks, approached Ertan and greeted him. Ertan had enough knowledge of the language to understand and accept the invitation. They joined the nearest tray.
But that’s me, for the future. The Muslims surrounding the tray, about ten people, as if on command for a second, stopped chewing and stared at Ertan. But I have friends here, they know how, – Ertan pointed to Abdulbasit and Rakhmet, who were finishing their prayers. Oh, sorry, it’s none of my business. I think I’m just ruining your appetite.

He thought for a second: how interesting everything is, maybe Allah sent him this guy so that he would eventually learn namaz? Such a gift cannot be repulsed…. After the end of iftar, Ertan did not go to the hostel with his friends, but stayed with a new acquaintance.Harun explained everything so easily that after half an hour Ertan memorized the sequence of the namaz movements and stood up together with the others for the collective night namaz. Although he did not know a single duaa read in ruknah, he was pleased to just stand in a row with the others, listening to the reading of the Koran, and did not want to leave the earthly bow.
Ertan felt how something lofty and solemn was filling his soul and, overfilling it, stinging his eyes. Finally, it’s done, this step! Bending down in the last sujud, Ertan remembered a Russian girl in a hijab. He will come to her! On the first day off! And there, whatever happens, in any case, you need to say thank you for the fact that, not knowing, she prompted him to the path of worship.
Yes, he’ll just say thank you. Whether she is divorced or not, it does not matter whether in relation to Ertan she has fulfilled her mission entrusted by Allah to her and to all Muslim women – to make a wordless daawat to people far from Islam. A girl in a dark blue hijab with beige abstractions was swinging her son on a swing. Well, yes, you can guess that she is Russian, despite her dark eyebrows and light brown eyes.It was the first time Ertan had seen her so close, they were only a few steps apart. He sat on the only bench in the playground, hiding behind a spread of the newspaper, surreptitiously watching her.
Something about the girl’s face was familiar. And the boy reminded him of someone … Although after so many weeks of observation, this is not surprising. I’ll go and sit, – the girl let go of the swing that was finishing the run and sat down on the bench.
Ertan’s breath was intercepted. You can start a conversation, he waited so much for this moment, but now the tongue seemed to stick to the palate. In the morning in prayer, he asked Allah for help and courage, but still his heart sank like after a run. The boy unsteadily walked into the sandbox to his peers, his mother’s attention is free. Come on! For the first time their gazes met. It seemed to Ertan that horror flashed in her eyes, the blush escaped from her cheeks. He attributed the change in her face to embarrassment and, clearing his throat, continued his previously prepared speech: You walk here like a ray of light among the unbelievers. Your appearance made me think about many things.
Thanks to Allah, and then to you that you are and adhere to Islam.
My friend came up and asked you about the nation, remember? A Russian Muslim girl is very unusual and very good … I started reading namaz, I am fasting, and before that I did not even think about Islam. May Allah bless you and your family. Ertan was somewhat puzzled, then it dawned on him: an illegitimate child! Not that she is, it turns out, a saint? .. Disappointment was replaced by another thought. Surely this is in the past! Compared to what she did for him, you can close your eyes to this. Himself a hundred times worse.
Allah Forgiving, why not forgive him? Confused – these words did not partially reflect the state of Ertan. He prepared a whole plan of acquaintance, and here … What do you mean – she knows? Why crying? Have I offended you? No, please, don’t … – when the first two tears rolled down her cheeks, Ertan panicked. Should I leave? Tell me, don’t be silent! She didn’t ask – she argued. Everything became very clear. The cruel truth fell upon Ertan with a cleaver. He held his brown eyes for a second, then slowly lowered his head. There were dozens of them. He tried, but could not remember her face, distinguish her from others, and the headscarf must have changed her appearance a lot.
The Russian name is also unlikely to say anything.
This is the predestination … He realized that the features of little Timur’s face reminded him – his own reflection in the mirror. Didn’t he receive five or six emails from different parts of Europe warning that he would soon become a father? Friends advised to pay less attention to this, and it is better to change mail.
Which he did….
The pause dragged on, but Ertan could not find words. What is the point, this is not a push in the back, this is a ruined life.

He imagined at what cost the young girl was given the decision to refuse an abortion, to save the baby’s life, knowing that her father would never visit and help.Ertan simultaneously with Taslima jumped up from the bench, ran to his son and easily lifted him into his arms.
From surprise, Timur fell silent, his mother’s little eyes stared at the newcomer.
