Note about boys Shoulder Pads

Beginning in 2022, US Lacrosse boys’ field players, NFHS boys’ field players, and NCAA men’s field players must also wear chest protection that meets the NOCSAE ND200 standard.  Some manufacturers have already begun to introduce chest protection for boys’ field players into the marketplace. One of the unique features of the Berkeley Lacrosse Club is the availability of rental gear to make the sport more affordable for our players and families.

Boys Helmets will be issued as part of registration! All boys will be issued a helmet. There is no need to rent or purchase a helmet.

RENTAL DAYS:
Schedule: Gear rental days will be scheduled just before the start of each season (Jan/Feb, Jun/July, and Sep)

Location: Gear Rental takes place at the BLC storage shed located at Public Storage, 1120 Second St, Berkeley, CA on the west side of the street, North of Harrison St.

There is a code to get through the main gate. Walk west from the car entrance, turn left at the end of the row,  and the shed is straight ahead on the left corner of the next row, unit AF018. 

Returns: BLC believes access to gear should not be a barrier for families whose children want to try lacrosse. As such, the club invests in a supply of quality gear and makes it available for economical rates to club families. The club relies on the goodwill of its families to rent and renew gear with full payment in a timely manner and currently does not have a late fee for rentals that are not returned on time. Please help us keep this program thriving by renting and returning gear efficiently.

CLEAN YOUR EQUIPMENT: Additionally, your equipment should be cleaned before returning. Gloves and Elbow Pads particularly should be put through a washing machine cycle and hung up to dry several days before returning. Mouth guards on helmets and any identifying tape and tape residue should be removed before returning. Please wipe down the inside of helmets with a sanitized wipe.

1. Victoria Schwab “This ferocious song”

In the first novel of the new Monsters of Verity series, there is not a single familiar place name at all. The metropolis of E-City is divided into northern and southern parts, each of which has its own “boss”, and they have teenage children. While soul-stealing monsters roam around with music, young Kate and August keep their family line alive. They go to the same school and intrigue against each other, but then decide to team up for a fateful choice.

2. Miranda July “The First Bad Man”

3. David Soloy “What a man is”

Soloy published his first novel quite early, at the age of 34, and even then critics started talking about him as a rising star of intellectual prose. “What a man is” he wrote at the age of 42, and life experience only benefited the author. Soloy tells stories about nine very different men, including a former military man and a shy student, but they all gradually merge into a coherent portrait of modern European life. All the characters here are of different ages and, starting with observations of the 17-year-old favorite of Fortune, we will gradually get to the 73-year-old former government adviser. However, despite the fact that the book pretends to be a novel, it is more of a collection of stories united by a theme, but not a plot.

4. Dot Hutchison “Roses of May”

The series of books “The Collector” by the American writer Dot Hutchison (yes, it’s “she”, not “he”, although the name and manner of writing led many readers to other thoughts) began in 2016. Already the first novel in the series, The Butterfly Garden, made critics recognize her as a serious player in the action thriller field. While the author is preparing for the release of the third novel “Children of Summer”, the second one, “Roses of May”, is being released in Russia. Another unhealthy person begins to hunt for innocent souls, pure and serene, like the most perfect flowers in the world. The story promises to be no less interesting, and the psychological basis – no less deep than in the Butterfly Garden.

5. Blake Crouch Good Behavior

In the preface to the book, Crouch refers to the main character as his favorite character. Charming swindler Letty Deboch is really able to please many. No wonder she has already managed to charm the audience – in 2016, a series was filmed based on the novel. At the beginning of the story, Letty is released from prison and returns to her usual occupation – stealing from expensive hotels. Almost caught by a guest returning at the wrong time, Letty hides in a closet and listens as the owner of the room takes an order to kill someone else’s wife. The poor victim needs to be rescued urgently! But how can this be done if the police are unlikely to believe a girl with such a criminal past as Letty’s?
