Â
In a low scoring 1st half, the Victor Blue Devils held a 1-0 lead on a goal by Joey Colyer heading into the 2nd half. Team 91 Orange began the 2nd half with possession and a man up and cashed in immediately as they received a goal from attackman George Wichelns. They took their first lead of the game shortly after on a beautiful roll dodge and shot by attackman Robbie Varello. Team 91 Orange wasnât done, as they tallied their third straight goal of the contest, this time as Sean Kuttin blew by his man on an iso play and ripped one past the Blue Devils goalie. After a Blue Devils goal by Chayse Ierlan pulled them to within one, Team 91 Orange answered as Alex Bamford fired one past the goalie after making a great move on the defenseman. Bamfordâs goal would be the final one of the game as Team 91 Orange held on for the 4-2 win.
Â
Â
7/8th A
Team 91 Orange out of Long Island, New York stole the show as they went an impressive 4-0 en route to capturing the title. They opened the day early in the morning with an impressive 8-2 win over Team Turnpike Exit 8. They followed it up with a dominating performance as they downed Recon 11-3 to advance to the semifinals where they would battle the Wet Bandits.
Â
After Team 91 Orange got on the board first on a goal from Kyle Sliwak the Wet Bandits responded with the final two goals of the 1st half, the first on a great play as Michael Mullen cashed in, and the second on a nice goal from Jared Walls. Mullen struck again early in the 2nd half to put his team up two. Following a Team 91 Orange goal, the Wet Bandits struck again, this time off the stick of Kevin Lacon to give his team a 4-2 lead. Laconâs goal would be the final goal for the Wet Bandits, as Team â91 Orange dominated the remainder of the game striking four straight times, including two from Riley Cox, one from Max OâKeefe and one from Jake Weinman to take home the come-from-behind 6-4 win to advance to the finals.
