90,000 Tortorella about lacrosse goals: “They would have taken their heads off for this in the 2000s. I’m not sure it’s good for hockey” – Hockey
Former head coach of the NHL clubs, ESPN analyst John Tortorella appreciated Anaheim’s goal in the regular season match with Buffalo (2: 0).
Ducks forward Trevor Zegras put the puck on the hook and passed through the air from behind the net to Sonny Milano, who hit the net with a volley.
“This is incredible craftsmanship. Even the fact that Sonny Milano yelled “Michigan” during a game sequence is a skill. This is a skillful move.
But my position is: is it good for the game? They tell me that now all the kids do this in training and the like. But I’m not sure. I’m not trying to make a fool of myself, I’m just not sure it’s good for hockey.
If you had done this in the 2000s, in the late 90s, your head would have been torn off. It’s cool, it’s fun to watch and all, but I’m not sure it’s good for the game.
How would I react if a player from my team scored such a goal? I would talk to the players after the match.
I’m not trying to make it complicated, it’s interesting to watch, it’s really cool. But I think that our game has gone far from what it should be – hard and fair. It’s got too many shows.
I know it’s needed. We need to sell the game. But I’m one of those people who thinks it’s still a tough game and you have to play well and fair,” Tortorella said on ESPN.
Recall that on October 30, 2019, Carolina forward Andrei Svechnikov became the first in the history of the NHL by the player who scored the lacrosse goal.
Zegras on the lacrosse pass: “Heard Milano yelling Michigan. I tuned in to the pass and decided to play it. It’s funny how it worked out.”
“Wow 👏👏👏.” Selanne on Milano’s puck from the summer after Zegras’ lacrosse assist from behind the net in the Anaheim vs. Buffalo game 16:10 McDavid on personal prizes in the NHL: “It’s nice when you’re young, but at the moment it’s not the most important thing”0041

By hiring exclusively lacrosse graduates for high-paying jobs, investment banks are missing out on talent. The founders of startup Suited claim that artificial intelligence will solve this problem

There’s a surefire way to get into a Wall Street company: get a business degree from Wharton, Harvard, or the University of Chicago, and then start looking for a job at an investment bank. If the candidate plays squash or lacrosse, this will add points to him, as well as membership in the “correct” club or university fraternity.
When it comes to scouting for new talent, college-educated white men who run major US financial firms tend to look for younger copies of themselves. Applicants from among the golden youth can quickly find themselves in the right position. And everyone else, including women and minorities, is in a much less advantageous position.
