Corners are no match for the StringKing Lacrosse Legend W. Just like StringKing’s men’s lacrosse heads; the Legend W delivers precision and accuracy consistently. You get the ability to place the ball anywhere that you want at a moment’s notice, and there’s no lack of power either. After a few weeks, we finally have our take on the Legend W and we are blown away by its fantastic performance. Stringers Society couldn’t be bigger fans of the Legend W from StringKing and we are big believers in bringing mesh to women’s lacrosse.

As a male player, using a women’s lacrosse stick has always been a fun alternative to my regular stick. I have so much respect for the women’s players because of the difference in stick legality compared to men. Having to use a stick with a pocket that shallow puts all the emphasis on control and skill, and I don’t have it. With that in mind, I can actually pull some maneuvers with the Legend W.

After using the Legend W for a few weeks, I have developed a profound love for using it whenever I can. There is a much more refined feel in the mesh-strung Legend W than any women’s stick I have ever used. Fakes are easy to pull off, shots feel very natural, and everything is placed where I want it. The only real downside is the effects of use on the mesh. Keeping the pocket legal is a fluctuating issue because of break-in. A quick retie of the bottom string always fixes it, but you need to account for this before any play.

Elite Level Shooting Never Before Seen In A Women’s Lacrosse Head

I don’t think I have ever used a stick that is as accurate as the Legend W for shooting. It is so much easier to shoot with this Legend W compared to a men’s lacrosse stick. There is a uniform release point that is perfect for muscle memory and hitting corners. You can also shoot from different levels and get a serious amount of lift on shots. In my opinion, putting your shots exactly where you want them has never been easier. I feel totally in control when using the Legend W and confidence with this stick is never going to be an issue.

Ground Balls Made Easy With The StringKing Legend W

The Scoop and flare on the Legend W are also to die for. One-handed or two, you can’t miss a GB when using the Legend W because it scoops them right up. This head is a swiss army knife of quality on the carpet that can’t be beaten. No ground ball can’t be picked up when using the Legend W. It’s got a scoop that any player would be glad to have on their stick during a game. I am highly impressed by the performance of the Legend W for its air and land assets, and I’m sure that most would agree.

Maverik Kinetik Review : Men’s Lacrosse Heads

The kinetic is the latest offering from Maverik Lacrosse who has been releasing top of the line Heads on July 4th for the past 4 years. This Head is meant for the Attack-men, offensive middies, and I believe would be great for offensive minded box lacrosse players.

The Kinetik features their Level 4 bottom Rail and new Tension Lock technology, I unfortunately did not string mesh in this head because there were a lot of great stringers who I knew would string mesh and give their opinion on the tension Lock so I urge you to go and see other reviews on this head if you are on the fence of purchasing this head.

level 4, describes the lowest point in the bottom rail which doesn’t dictate entirely where a pocket will sit but it is the manufactures suggestion where they designed the pocket to be. The reason for the mid high placement is for the outside shots, the mid high pocket allows the ball to sit in the head longer as you rotate your hips and arms while shooting. This feature hasn’t been seen since the Centrik BUT in my opinion it has been done 10x better on this head than the centrik because this bottom rail is more pointed than elongated like the centrik is. The redesign on the level 4 gives it a snappy release, which has a unique feeling when you shoot, definitely adds shot velocity and accuracy.

The Tension Lock is intended to lock down the channel to have a pass or shot come out of the center of the scoop and have crisp accurate passes. The high aggressive flare, tight face shape, stiffness, and the slightly pointed scoop will also help with the accuracy.

This head takes a traditional very well better than the Optik and Centrik do. The top and bottom holes are perfectly spaced, the bottom holes are nice and big and able to fit leathers through easily. The biggest improvements in my opinion, for traditionals, are the longer throat, and the cutouts in the throat. The longer throat allows for the leathers to be able to “turn around” and have more space to tie off on the back or the front. The cutouts are an improvement to feed the leathers through to turn around if you didn’t want to tie off the leathers in the front of the head.

I have been using this head now for about two months and the only complaint I have is the Tension Lock. I think it could have been pushed down a diamond but I think that that’s an issue that is easily fixed by using a traditional… or by tweaking your pattern, which isn’t a big deal. The pros definitely out weigh the cons in this head. The stiffness of the head hasn’t been weakened by use nor has the head warped by use. I highly recommend this head to Midfielders who like to carry the ball and run and gun, any outside shooting attack-men not so much the catch in the center and shoot as the face shape is kind of tight to be catching In the middle, and an offensive minded Box lacrosse player.

Avangard ended the first home series of the new season with a match against Amur Khabarovsk, which lost twice before arriving in Balashikha, but in an equal fight. “Spartak” interrupted the series of defeats in the regular season against the Moscow “Dynamo”

Dynamo played the second match in the championship and the first – at the home arena in Petrovsky Park. “Spartak” completed the away series of three games. What united the teams before the first derby of the season was that so far neither the red-whites nor the white-and-blues had won. Spartak was beaten in Yaroslavl (2:7), then lost in Yekaterinburg (0:1), Dynamo could not turn the tide of the match with Avangard (1:2). After the game in the Urals, the head coach of Spartak Oleg Znarok noted the progress of his team compared to the match in Yaroslavl. And for the first derby of the season, the coaching staff released almost the same squad as against Avtomobilist, with the only change: the first game in the new championship was played by experienced defender Andrey Kuteikin. All five field legionnaires of Spartak came out again, goalkeeper Julius Gudachek remained out of the application.

Dynamo had more changes, but they did not affect the leading links. In the third place Ilya Kruglov was taken by Vladislav Efremov, in the fourth place Oleg Zaitsev and Artyom Volkov were replaced by Egor Bryzgalov (first appeared in the application for the KHL match) and Sergey Boykov.

Dynamo and Spartak were the last teams to play in the previous, prematurely completed championship. And if in the same playoff series Spartak managed to beat the opponent twice, then in the regular championships, things have not been going well for the red-and-whites in the derby lately – six matches remained for Dynamo.

In the third minute, Ivan Muranov broke the rules, and soon Vyacheslav Kulemin went after him, giving the guests almost 30 seconds of a double majority. During this time, the Spartacists did not deliver any serious troubles to the owners; the only thing I remember was Kuteikin’s throw, and even that fell right into Ivan Bocharov.

A more realistic opportunity for scoring was Andrei Sergeyev’s shot in the eighth minute – this time Nikita Bespalov was on the alert – and for quite a long time this was the most dangerous episode of the meeting. Another serious danger to the Spartak goal was created in the middle of the second period by Ilya Shipov – but it also remained unrealized. And after that, the account was finally opened – Efremov distinguished himself, cold-bloodedly shooting an empty corner of the goal, formed due to the collision of Bespalov with Yakov Rylov.

At the beginning of the third segment, a short-term but fierce fight broke out between Sergei Boykov and Nikita Sokolov, as a result of which the Spartacists remained in the minority – since Martin Bakos had violated the rules a little earlier. The hosts disposed of the majority casually. Vadim Shipachev played not in the best way in his zone, which Anatoly Nikontsev took advantage of – either taking the puck from the Dynamo captain, or intercepting his pass.
