If I move, I will live in Sochi
The most productive player of HC “Sochi” Ilya Krikunov about why last year he could not gain a foothold in the composition of Yekaterinburg, about life in Sochi and the defeat from “Ak Bars”.
– Last year, you could not get into the Avtomobilist squad, and now the leader of Sochi. How can this be explained?
– Each hockey player needs to get into his team, wherever you are trusted, – Aleksey Shevchenko, correspondent of Sportbox.ru, quoted Krikunov as saying. – Now in Sochi this is exactly the situation, and in the pre-season he did a very good job. And the team is good. And I just didn’t guess right with the club last season.
– HC “Sochi” fights on equal terms with SKA away, but unexpectedly loses to “Ak Bars” on its ice – 0:5. Why such instability?
– We “burned out” before the game with Kazan. We just gave it our all in the meeting with Avtomobilist, won, gave all our emotions away, and we simply didn’t have enough strength for the next opponent. Yes, and “Ak Bars” started great. I immediately scored four goals and after that it was very difficult to return to the game. We ourselves are to blame. We need to pull up the game in the majority, especially now, when there are so many penalties in every game.
– Tell us about your life in Sochi. Are you recognized here?
– Of course not. Hockey is a new sport for the city. In Krasnodar, maybe they are better acquainted, but there has never been hockey here.
– But eight thousand spectators in the first game, nine thousand in the second.
– What else can the locals do here? If I lived in Sochi, I would also go to hockey, just out of curiosity. But the audience here is special. At the first game, they rejoiced both when they scored against us and when we scored. It is clear that not everyone understands yet.
– Do you often go to the sea?
– Very rarely. I don’t like the pebble beach, if there was sand, I would walk. In addition, the sea here is not very clean, I don’t want to take risks. We have a lot of guys who suffered from intestinal infections. Yes, and then take the locals. They don’t go to the sea, they swim in the rivers. However, they say that you need to go to Abkhazia, where the sea is in perfect order.
– Taxi drivers in Sochi are wild.
– And very expensive. Probably Moscow prices.
– Local national food – kebabs.
– And there are some very decent places. I live in the Ekaterininsky quarter, there is a good restaurant there.
– And some hockey players have chosen the Chistye Prudy residential complex.
– There are much smaller apartments, and I’m with my family.
– Would you like to live in Sochi?
– Why not move over? True, if I live, it will be in Sochi, and not in the Olympic village where the team is based. There is clearly a lack of infrastructure. There are no kindergartens, schools, any entertainment. In Sochi, the situation is completely different.
– There is some deserted place where the team lives.
– I agree, everything is uninhabited. But I don’t know what draws people here in general. Rest here is very expensive. Just completely unrealistic prices, despite the fact that the service can hardly be called ideal.
