Gear Review: Soldier Bag by Maverik Lacrosse
Company: Maverik Lacrosse / Product: Soldier Gear Bag / Price: $64.99
I’m going to switch this up a bit… The way we normally do this Gear Review thing is that you get the final score at the end. I don’t want to mince words this time. Maverik, please stand up and take a bow because you’ve outdone yourself and I’m giving the Maverik Soldier Lacrosse Bag a score of…
“Whoa whoa whoa,” you’re saying. The scale only goes up to 10. Like Spinal Tap, Maverik isn’t playing by your rules and has turned up the volume… it’s one more.
Appearance… 2.0
This is a sharp looking unit. I’ve been toting around my old Idaho Vandal Harrow Blitz bag since 2007 or so. It’s been a great bag, but lately I’ve been a little unsatisfied still dragging my college gear bag around. Still, I hadn’t seen another other bags with decent-looking stock options and I just couldn’t commit to being “that guy” who has a custom gear bag for his men’s club team.
Enter the Soldier. The grey/black/white combo looks sharp but understated and I don’t look like I’m holding onto my glory days anymore. I looked all over the internet and I’m fairly confident that this is the best-looking option on the market.
Durability… 2.0
The Soldier is constructed of heavy duty nylon and, although I’ve only used it for a brief time, I don’t get the impression that it has any intention of breaking. The stitching is tight and the zippers are nice and big so you don’t have to worry about the teeth. This Soldier is ready to go to war.
Portability… 2.0
Another thing I’ve never loved about traditional lax gear bags is how long and awkward they are. Good luck getting through a door with it around your shoulder. For this reason, I’d been considering switching to a lax backpack like the Warrior Jet Pack Man X or Harrow K85. However, I’ve never been confident that a backpack would hold all of my gear and the price tag for a specialized lacrosse backpack is simply too rich for my blood.
Again, the Soldier comes up huge here. Maverik constructed the Soldier as a sort of duffel bag/backpack hybrid. It’s big like a duffel bag, but not as long, and comes with backback shoulder straps so you can hang it on your back and go for a walk. The sacrifice is that there’s no stick compartment, but I don’t use that thing anyways because I prefer my stick’s pocket not to be mashed into a bag.
And if you really can’t be bothered to hold onto your stick with your hands, there’s velcro straps to hold it on to the exterior of the bag.
Storage… 3.0
I’m about to get nerdy. This bag… has SOOOO many pockets and compartments… that using it is like having that bottomless man-purse Hermione carries around in the last Harry Potter movies.
Put in less embarrassing terms, what I’m trying to say is that this bag holds a lot more than you’d ever think just by looking at it. Everytime I thought to myself, “man I wish it had a pocket for [X],” I found one tucked away between other pockets and folds in the bag. Maverik thought of everything. I truly could not be more satisfied in this regard.
Is that a giveaway I see in our future?
Price… 2.0
Here’s where the rubber starts to hit the road. For such a nice bag, I’d expect to be paying close to $100. Less impressive options come in at $70-90. But this bad boy checks in at a highly reasonable $64.99. Are there cheaper options? I guess so, but you won’t find a better value.
CONCLUSION… 11/10
It’s clear to me that the Soldier was built for lacrosse players who want to carry everything without being burdened by a cumbersome bag or exorbitant cost. I give this product my full recommendation. Buy it. You won’t be disappointed.
Ooooo… so sharp!

Choate Rosemary Hall is a college created as a result of the merger of two old schools – male and female: The Choate School (1896) and Rosemary Hall (1890). The merger took place in 1971.
For 126 years, over 17 thousand graduates graduated from the school, many of whom have achieved career heights, entered the elite of the world community and glorified Choate. The 35th US President John F. Kennedy, Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump, actress Jamie Lee Curtis and 13 US ambassadors studied here. And today the school continues to raise leaders, innovators, activists and originals. Young people leave the walls of Choate with knowledge that will help them live interesting and fulfilling lives, develop critical independent thinking, a craving for discovery, curiosity and a love of learning.
Choate Rosemary Hall is a selective school. Competition here is 10 people per seat! But the lucky ones who have overcome the entrance tests are waiting for unforgettable years and an enviable future. Graduates continue their studies at such elite universities as Yale, Harvard, Columbia, Brown and others. Choate Rosemary Hall is part of the Eight Schools Association (ESA) elite group, which includes such prestigious schools as Phillips Academy Andover, Phillips Academy Exeter, Deerfield School, St. Paul’s School, Hotchkiss School, Lawrenceville School and Northfield Mount Hermon.
Choate Rosemary Hall has over 850 students from forty countries. Classes are small – on average 12 people study together. The school is famous for its strong academic level of education. It offers 300 different courses and 27 AP advanced subjects. There are also a number of special programs – Signature Programs. These are eight author’s courses developed by school teachers, including: “Advanced Robotics”, “Arabic and Middle Eastern Sciences”, “John F. Kennedy Program in Government and Civil Service”, “Semester Abroad” and others. Here students design robots, immerse themselves in art, study the relationship between the peoples of the Middle East, conduct biological and chemical research and look for ways to solve the problem of plastic pollution on the planet.
Choate teachers and managers regularly visit the headquarters of high-tech companies: Apple Inc., Google, Pixar Feature Films, IDEO, General Assembly. Inspired by what they saw, the school team developed a program for the i.d.Lab training laboratory – “Design Thinking”. It combined traditional STEM subjects – exact sciences, technology, engineering, mathematics – and art. Here students are taught to think creatively, draw non-obvious parallels and apply their knowledge in practice. How to optimize the classroom space for modern educational technologies? How to design the perfect high school backpack? Students look for solutions to such questions in the classroom in the laboratory.
At Choate, students not only prepare for exams in music, theater and arts, but also create for their own pleasure. They attend master classes of professional artists and artists, go to performances and concerts, play on stage and draw themselves. Each year, Choate hosts several premieres by the school’s theater company. There is where to turn around and musicians. A symphony orchestra, brass band, string band, jazz ensemble, chamber choir, festival choir, and a cappella groups rehearse on campus every week.
The campus is located in the state of Connecticut, in the town of Wallingford. On the territory of 185 hectares there are more than 120 buildings – these are educational buildings, scientific laboratories, residences, creative workshops and sports facilities. Students can choose to live in large residences or quiet individual houses.
The campus is equipped with 8 running tracks with artificial turf, 14 tennis courts, a 25-meter pool with 8 lanes, an ice rink, cross-country tracks, an athletic complex, a stadium, fields for lacrosse, field hockey, soccer and football, basketball and volleyball courts, squash courts, wrestling room, fitness center, aerobics and yoga studios.
Maha Powerex MH-C9000 charger / Lacrosse BC-700
The desire to write a review appeared after reading this review. The review is beautiful, but it seemed very useless to me – there are a lot of photos, but the difference between Macha and Lacrosse is not disclosed at all, despite the fact that the person before that wrote a review about Lacrosse tynts.
So, there will be no photos, only text, I will try to be brief and to the point.
Go!
Full discussion of gadgets can be read here. Part 5 is now ending (each with 150 pages of chatter). In the 4th part there is a good FAQ in the heading tynts. I will partially repeat it, but it is worth reading.
Mach VS Lacrosse
Dimensions
Maha much more.
BP
Mahi PSU is 12V, Lacrosse is 3V.
In the event of a PSU failure, it will be problematic to find it at 3V. 12V is like dirt. It is also easier to use 12V in a car, because. adapters from the on-board network are full and cost a penny, because passive.
I also note the fact that Lacrosse is very demanding on the voltage of the PSU. When exceeding 3V, it starts to heat the batteries strongly when charging.
Operating mode selection
Yes, Maha’s interface is somewhat more complicated – but believe me, this is not a problem (for me – for sure) when installing batteries, click on the buttons a little more.
The screen is at mahi 1 and during operation, sometimes you have to wait to see the necessary parameters (the button switches between batteries, but if there are several values for each between displays, you have to wait).
The screen is bright but doesn’t bother me.
Operating modes
Macha has one more mode, but I have never used it.
Mahi has a clean discharge mode, Lacrosse always charges after discharging – it is difficult to test the batteries, because. you must not miss the end of the discharge. Otherwise, the batteries may leak + perhaps the drained capacity will disappear from the display meter (but I don’t remember this).
Macha’s discharge and charge values are independent. At Lacrosse they are tightly tied.
Mahi has a Break-In mode – I do not use it, because. I am among those who consider it “unnecessary”.
More details on the modes can be found on the links above.
The main features that the manuals do not seem to write about, but you need to know
1. “Lacrosse” is produced at several factories (they have a slightly different name there) and the quality of the board / soldering is somewhat worse, IMHO. Suffice it to say that once, when changing the PCB, the Chinese forgot to change the polarity of the capacitor – it was so poor and stood with reversed polarity. Then they fixed the bug. Mach is produced on one.
2. Lacrosse has only two temperature sensors 1-2 + 3-4. Mahi has a tremor sensor for each battery.
3. After an emergency stop of charging when the temperature is exceeded, Macha will not continue charging after cooling down – it will say that it is charged. Lacrosse will continue.
4. At low charging currents (250-500mA) Lacrosse often does not detect dV and recharges the battery – from which it starts to get very hot. Maha has a different jamb – it does not recharge the battery by 200 mAh. After she writes – charged, she pours 100mA current into it for another 2 hours – the so-called Top-Off.
5. Macha has a stabilized charge current – this is a PWM with a peak of 1.97A and a period of like 2s. But for Lacrosse, everything depends on the internal resistance of the battery and the voltage of the PSU, currents up to 3A, the PWM frequency also changes. In principle, this is not very important – but the important thing is that Lacrosse heats up the batteries more when charging. I had a 700th Lacrosse and it boiled old batteries on its 700mA, turned off due to overheating … cooled down, boiled again, etc. Sometimes two or three times stopping due to overheating when charging. I charge the batteries at 1A with a swing and they never boiled, and even AAA at 900mAh (for which, of course, 1A is detrimental). About Enelupe or Turnigi – no problem. The mach is more massive and removes heat better – on it the batteries are further apart and there are holes for air from below.
Buying Lacrosses above the 700th is generally considered an empty business, because. maximum charging currents are not very usable. I note that at 700mA my Laxross caught dV well.
6. Discharge current. For Maha, it’s like PWM 1A, and for Lacrosse, something doesn’t happen once in a while. In cheap 700s, the maximum discharge current is 350mA, which is very small! Macha has at least 1A – which is also not much. In addition to the fact that the test is faster with high currents (for example, discharging 2500 mAh on the RS-700 takes 7.5 hours!), And the discharge with small ones is often not indicative. A dead battery can give out its 2300mAh at 350mA, but put it in a flashlight with 2A consumption and it will give out 500-700mA. In flashes, in general, discharge currents are 3-4A … the battery may not be enough for 2 puffs.
In general, for me, 1A per discharge for Maha is a bold plus with 350mA for the 700th.
7. When you insert a battery into Macha, it measures the internal resistance and may refuse to charge. IMHO, it’s time for such batteries to go to the trash. She does not refuse to charge all my dohliks.
By the way, after installing the battery, if you press enter twice (once – I agree with the choice of charging mode, the second – I agree with 1A) – then Mach will give out two numbers – Vdc and Vxx. Using the formula Rin = (Vdc – Vxx – 0.09)/1.97 you can understand the resistance of the battery (thanks to Vladislav S. from the hobbot).
8. Actual charging current Maxi 0.91 of the displayed (set). Those. says that it charges 1A, but in fact – 0.91A. In an hour, she will write that 0.91Ah is flooded (i.e., the capacity indicator is corrected).
Perhaps I forgot something else.
If someone wants more information (for example, oscillograms), then it’s better to go to the hobbot – there are a lot of things.
