How can lacrosse coaches improve their coaching techniques. What are the key elements of successful lacrosse practice planning. Why is pace important in lacrosse training. How has the game of lacrosse evolved in recent years.
The Impact of Modern Coaching Clinics on Lacrosse Programs
Lacrosse coaching clinics have become instrumental in shaping the future of the sport. The Duke Lacrosse Coaching Clinic Archives offer a treasure trove of knowledge for coaches at all levels. These clinics are not just about learning new drills or strategies; they’re about revolutionizing the entire approach to coaching lacrosse.
Coaches who have attended these clinics report significant improvements in their coaching abilities and team performance. One coach from Culver City, CA, expressed his enthusiasm: “We can’t thank you enough for taking the time to make the trip out here to LA to help move our program forward! We were very impressed with the presentation, the energy, and passion in which you gave us!”
Key Benefits of Attending Lacrosse Coaching Clinics
- Exposure to cutting-edge coaching techniques
- Networking opportunities with fellow coaches
- Hands-on experience with innovative drills
- Insights into modern player psychology
- Strategies for maximizing practice efficiency
Transforming Practice Planning and Execution
One of the core focuses of these coaching clinics is revolutionizing practice planning and execution. The traditional approach to lacrosse practice is being challenged and updated to meet the needs of today’s players and the evolving nature of the game.
Coach Durkin Guthrie shared his experience after implementing the new techniques: “I held my 1st practice on Sunday and was totally prepared by pre-planning my practice to maximize our field time together. The drills you showcased in Culver City, CA were perfect for getting the most out of our first team practice.”
Elements of Effective Practice Planning
- Pre-planning to maximize field time
- Incorporating game-like scenarios in drills
- Focusing on player touches and engagement
- Maintaining a high-energy, fast-paced environment
- Adapting drills to suit different skill levels
The Changing Landscape of Lacrosse: Equipment and Player Dynamics
The game of lacrosse has undergone significant changes in recent years, both in terms of equipment and player dynamics. Modern coaching clinics address these changes head-on, helping coaches adapt their strategies to the evolving landscape of the sport.
How has lacrosse equipment evolved? Modern lacrosse sticks are lighter and more precise, allowing for faster play and more accurate shooting. Protective gear has also improved, enabling players to move more freely while staying safe.
What changes have occurred in player dynamics? Today’s lacrosse players are often more athletic and versatile than in the past. They’re expected to be proficient in multiple positions and adapt quickly to changing game situations. Coaches must adjust their strategies to harness these new player capabilities effectively.
Maximizing Player Touches: The 200 Touches Challenge
One of the innovative concepts introduced in these coaching clinics is the idea of maximizing player touches during practice. The goal is to achieve 200 touches for each player in the first hour of practice alone. This approach ensures that players get ample opportunity to handle the ball and improve their skills.
How can coaches achieve 200 touches in an hour? By designing fast-paced drills that keep players constantly engaged. This might include rapid-fire passing drills, quick-transition scenarios, and small-sided games that maximize ball movement.
Why are touches so important in lacrosse training? More touches mean more opportunities for skill development. Players who handle the ball frequently in practice are better prepared to make quick decisions and execute precise movements during games.
The Critical Importance of Practice Pace in Lacrosse
The pace of practice has emerged as a crucial factor in effective lacrosse training. Modern coaching clinics emphasize the need for high-energy, fast-paced practices that mirror the intensity of actual games.
Why is a fast practice pace important? A rapid pace helps players develop quick decision-making skills and improves their overall fitness. It also keeps players engaged and focused throughout the practice session.
How can coaches maintain a high pace during practice? By minimizing downtime between drills, using efficient transitions, and incorporating conditioning elements into skill-based exercises. Coaches are also encouraged to use timers and set clear expectations for drill execution speed.
Game-Like Scenarios: The Future of Lacrosse Drills
Gone are the days of isolated skill drills with little context. Modern lacrosse coaching emphasizes the importance of making every drill emulate a game scenario. This approach helps players develop not just individual skills, but also game intelligence and situational awareness.
How can coaches create game-like drills? By adding elements of pressure, time constraints, and decision-making to traditional skill exercises. For example, a simple passing drill can be transformed into a competitive clear-and-ride scenario with defensive pressure.
What are the benefits of game-like drills? Players who practice in game-like conditions are better prepared for actual match situations. They develop a deeper understanding of game flow and learn to make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
Comprehensive Coaching: Beyond Offense and Defense
While offensive and defensive schemes remain crucial, modern lacrosse coaching clinics emphasize a more holistic approach to the game. Coaches are encouraged to focus on all aspects of play, including transitions, specialty scenarios, and mental preparation.
Key Areas of Focus in Comprehensive Lacrosse Coaching
- Offensive and defensive strategies
- Riding and clearing techniques
- Face-off strategies and execution
- Man-up and man-down situations
- Goalie-specific training
- Mental toughness and team cohesion
How does this comprehensive approach benefit teams? By addressing all aspects of the game, coaches can create well-rounded players and teams that are prepared for any situation. This approach also helps players understand their roles within the larger team context, improving overall performance.
The Role of Technology in Modern Lacrosse Coaching
Technology has become an integral part of lacrosse coaching, and modern clinics are incorporating these tools into their curriculum. From video analysis to performance tracking apps, coaches are learning to leverage technology to enhance their coaching effectiveness.
How can coaches use technology in lacrosse training? Video analysis tools allow coaches to break down game footage and provide detailed feedback to players. Performance tracking apps can monitor player statistics and progress over time. Virtual reality systems are even being explored as a way to simulate game situations and improve decision-making skills.
What are the benefits of incorporating technology into coaching? Technology can provide objective data to support coaching decisions, offer new ways to visualize and understand game strategies, and help players receive more personalized feedback on their performance.
Building a Positive Team Culture in Lacrosse
While skills and strategies are crucial, modern lacrosse coaching clinics also emphasize the importance of building a positive team culture. Coaches are encouraged to focus on character development, leadership skills, and fostering a supportive team environment.
How can coaches create a positive team culture? By setting clear expectations, promoting open communication, recognizing individual and team achievements, and encouraging players to support one another. Team-building activities and leadership workshops can also contribute to a strong team culture.
Why is team culture important in lacrosse? A positive team culture can improve player motivation, enhance on-field communication, and create a more enjoyable experience for everyone involved. It can also lead to better performance as players feel more connected and committed to their team’s success.
Adapting Coaching Styles to Modern Players
Today’s lacrosse players have different needs and expectations compared to previous generations. Modern coaching clinics address these changes and provide strategies for coaches to connect with and motivate their players effectively.
How have players changed? Modern players often have shorter attention spans, are more technologically savvy, and may require different motivational approaches. They’re also often involved in multiple sports and activities, requiring coaches to be more flexible and efficient with practice time.
What strategies can coaches use to adapt? Using varied and engaging practice formats, incorporating technology into training, providing clear and concise feedback, and fostering a sense of purpose and meaning in lacrosse participation. Coaches are also encouraged to be more collaborative, involving players in decision-making processes when appropriate.
The Future of Lacrosse Coaching: Trends and Predictions
As the sport of lacrosse continues to evolve, so too does the art of coaching. Modern coaching clinics not only address current best practices but also look ahead to the future of the sport.
What trends are shaping the future of lacrosse coaching? Increased specialization in coaching roles, greater emphasis on data-driven decision making, and the integration of sports science principles into training regimens. There’s also a growing focus on player safety and injury prevention, influencing how coaches approach conditioning and contact drills.
How can coaches stay ahead of these trends? By attending coaching clinics regularly, participating in online coaching communities, and staying open to new ideas and technologies. Continuous learning and adaptation are key to success in the ever-changing world of lacrosse coaching.
Measuring Coaching Success: Beyond Wins and Losses
While winning games is important, modern lacrosse coaching clinics emphasize a broader definition of success. Coaches are encouraged to consider player development, team growth, and program sustainability as key indicators of their effectiveness.
What metrics can coaches use to measure success? Player skill improvement, team chemistry and cohesion, academic performance of student-athletes, and long-term program growth. Coaches might also consider the number of players who continue to play lacrosse at higher levels or return to contribute to the program as coaches or mentors.
Why is this broader view of success important? It helps create a more sustainable and positive lacrosse culture, focusing on long-term development rather than short-term results. This approach can lead to greater satisfaction for coaches, players, and parents, and contribute to the overall growth of the sport.
Leveraging Coaching Clinics for Program Development
Attending coaching clinics is just the first step. The real challenge lies in implementing the learned concepts and strategies within a lacrosse program. Successful coaches use these clinics as catalysts for program-wide development and improvement.
How can coaches maximize the impact of clinic attendance? By sharing knowledge with assistant coaches and team leaders, gradually introducing new concepts in practice sessions, and being open to feedback and adjustments. It’s also beneficial to maintain connections with other coaches met at clinics, creating a network for ongoing learning and support.
What long-term benefits can programs expect from regular clinic attendance? Improved coaching quality across all levels of the program, a more cohesive coaching philosophy, and a reputation for innovation and player development. This can lead to increased player retention, better recruitment, and overall program growth.
Balancing Tradition and Innovation in Lacrosse Coaching
While modern coaching clinics introduce many new concepts, they also emphasize the importance of respecting lacrosse traditions. The challenge for coaches is to find the right balance between innovative techniques and time-tested practices.
How can coaches blend traditional and modern approaches? By understanding the core principles behind traditional methods and finding ways to adapt them to modern players and game dynamics. It’s also important to introduce new techniques gradually, ensuring they complement rather than replace effective traditional practices.
Why is this balance important? It helps maintain the essence of lacrosse while allowing the sport to evolve and remain relevant. A balanced approach can appeal to both traditionalists and innovators within the lacrosse community, fostering a more unified and progressive lacrosse culture.
The Global Perspective: International Lacrosse Coaching Trends
As lacrosse continues to grow internationally, coaching clinics are increasingly incorporating global perspectives. This broader view helps coaches understand different playing styles and training methodologies from around the world.
How are international trends influencing lacrosse coaching? Coaches are learning to appreciate diverse playing styles, from the fast-paced North American game to the more methodical European approach. There’s also growing interest in cross-training with other sports, inspired by international coaching methods.
What benefits does this global perspective offer? It broadens coaches’ tactical understanding, introduces new training methodologies, and prepares players for international competition. It also contributes to the overall growth and diversification of the sport on a global scale.
Empowering Assistant Coaches and Volunteers
Modern lacrosse programs recognize the crucial role of assistant coaches and volunteers. Coaching clinics are increasingly focusing on strategies to empower these important team members, enhancing overall program effectiveness.
How can head coaches better utilize their assistants and volunteers? By delegating specific responsibilities, providing opportunities for skill development, and involving them in strategic planning. It’s also important to create a culture of open communication and collaborative decision-making within the coaching staff.
What are the benefits of empowering assistant coaches and volunteers? It leads to more efficient practices, allows for more individualized player attention, and helps develop a pipeline of future head coaches. This approach also creates a more engaging and rewarding experience for everyone involved in the program.
Integrating Mental Health and Wellness into Lacrosse Coaching
As awareness of mental health issues in sports grows, modern lacrosse coaching clinics are incorporating strategies for supporting player wellness. Coaches are learning to address not just the physical, but also the mental and emotional aspects of player development.
How can coaches support player mental health? By creating a supportive team environment, teaching stress management techniques, and being aware of signs of mental health struggles. Coaches are also encouraged to foster open communication about mental health and to have resources available for players who may need additional support.
Why is this focus on mental health important? It contributes to player well-being both on and off the field, can improve team performance by reducing stress and anxiety, and helps create a more positive and supportive lacrosse culture overall.
Ethical Considerations in Modern Lacrosse Coaching
As the sport becomes more competitive, coaching clinics are placing increased emphasis on ethical coaching practices. This includes discussions on sportsmanship, fair play, and the responsible use of advanced training techniques.
What ethical issues are modern lacrosse coaches facing? Balancing competitiveness with player well-being, managing parental expectations, ensuring equal playing time in youth leagues, and navigating recruitment processes at higher levels. There’s also growing discussion around the ethical use of performance data and technology in coaching decisions.
How can coaches navigate these ethical considerations? By establishing clear team values and policies, maintaining open communication with players and parents, and regularly reflecting on their coaching practices. Coaches are also encouraged to seek guidance from mentors and stay informed about best practices in sports ethics.
The Duke Lacrosse Coaching Clinic Archives represent a valuable resource for coaches looking to elevate their skills and adapt to the changing landscape of the sport. By embracing modern coaching techniques while respecting the traditions of lacrosse, coaches can create more effective, engaging, and successful programs. As the sport continues to evolve, these clinics will undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping the future of lacrosse coaching.

We can’t thank you enough for taking the time to make the trip out here to LA to help move our program forward! We were very impressed with the presentation, the energy, and passion in which you gave us! All the coaches can’t wait for our next coaches meeting to put into practice the concepts you gave us!
Coach Casey Chabola, Culver City, CA
Coach,
I can’t tell you enough how much I value our time together last week. You are an amazing communicator and a wizard at helping coaches become more prepared in order to be better coaches for our next generation of lacrosse players.
I held my 1st practice on Sunday and was totally prepared by pre-planning my practice to maximize our field time together. The drills you showcased in Culver City, CA were perfect for getting the most out of our first team practice. I didn’t need to think other than explain the drill and watch the timer to make sure I was keeping practice moving.
I had a blast meeting you and I really hope one day I get the chance to hang out and absorb more learning from you! You’re an inspiration to us youth coaches who just want to pass the game on our here in Los Angeles, CA!
Coach Durkin Guthrie
We brought Mike to Minnesota for his 3 hour general session, which was then attended by over 80 local coaches. Mike is a professional speaker by trade and it is evident in his presentation. Mike takes his role very seriously and studiously prepares his presentation for the audience. The 3 hours flew by and everyone in the room learned something new.
While Mike has a ton of knowledge for lacrosse strategies, drills and practice management, as his core he reminds everyone of what it means to be a coach and why our roles as coaches are important in the development of young minds.

Comments from the weekend….
“I was the attackman in the American flag shorts. I wanted to email you and let you know how privilege I felt being able to work with you. I learned a lot not only as a player in the on field portion of your presentation today 9/27/14 but also as a coach in the class room portion. You have opened my eyes in all forms of this wonderful game we are involved in. The presentation has definitely touch me and for you to be able to teach us so much in just one short day shows just how great of a coach you are. Thank you for sharing your expertise not only with myself but with the other coaches and members of my team.” Tim Castelli Thanks Tim, but I but a messenger — the great practice ideas come from the coaches in our library! Coach Mike
“Nice to meet you today. I’ve been coaching for 30 years and I feel your clinic today was the single most valuable event I have attended. Thanks again, Coach Chris Stephan”

Here is the feedback from a recent clinic in Chicago…
“As you know we are building a program from the ground up. I can’t tell you how great the classroom and field time was for our coaching staff. We are fortunate some of our coaches have high school or college playing experience. We all learned the game in the old school way of doing things, and have been teaching the game in the same fashion. The game has changed, why hadn’t we?
Your approach to this generation of lacrosse player combined with your ability to reiterate information collected from your interviews has changed our entire program’s approach for the better!…..much better!
We have had only one week of practice since the clinic. I have received an email from every coach commenting on what a difference this new approach makes to their practice.
The coaches are re-energized and excited teach these new concepts to our players. I can’t wait to see the progression.
Thank you so much for making the trip north, your students in the Windy City are looking forward to doing this again next year!”
P.S. My ball budget just tripled!

More Feedback,
Mike,
Thank you sir. I learned more in 3 hours than in my previous 4 years as the head coach of a start up program. Former baseball and basketball player with no lax experience I’ve grown to love it and like many WISH I could have played. Your approach is spot on and we are going to adopt a lot of what was presented.

His website, laxcoachmike.com is the largest, most visited, dedicated resource for over 6,500 loyal member lacrosse coaches including lacrosse coaches from the Rec level through many NCAA DI programs, with over 850,000 page views. In the last six years, Mike has spent over 250 hours of personal one-on-one time with more than 60 of the greatest Men’s College Coaches from DI through DIII, discussing and then sharing via the internet, the significant changes in their lacrosse coaching philosophies, their new-style practice plans and drills, high pace practices and a focus on fun and touches. Thus laxcoachmike is an extremely popular speaker at US Lacrosse.
This evolving nature of coaching lacrosse players in practice results in tremendous levels of improvement in very short periods of time, and Mike is quick to recognize they are not his concepts but from the nationally recognized coaches so willing to share their changes in philosophy and practice. The key is Mike’s ability to take the latest trends at the NCAA level, combined with his 35 years of lacrosse experience, and apply them to expedite the improvement of players from the U13 level through his nationally ranked travel teams. Very simply, players love the practice time featuring 300 touches per player in each session.
Coach Mike is a former US Lacrosse Coach of the Year in Georgia. In January 2010 the Copperhead team coached by Muetzel won the National Championship in the Dicks Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions for the Rising Stars Division with wins over Krunch, Rutgers Leading Edge and Burning River from Ohio. His teams have faced the best Club Lacrosse Teams in North America including Team Florida, Baltimore Crabs, Baltimore Trilogy, Connecticut Chargers, Kanienkehakah Krunch Tribe, Ontario Edge, British Columbia, Minute Men and many others. In his five-year tenure coaching the Copperhead travel team, his teams have won seventeen different tournaments across North America, including the U17 Dick’s National Championship. He has authored five top selling eBooks on changing philosophies in coaching and lacrosse drills, produced a 90 minute DVD Coaching U15 with College Drills as well as other articles for collegelax.us (Popular website for the MCLA).
Comments on Mike…
“He is passionate about lacrosse, a student of the game, a Former Coach of the Year, he took a four-year program to the State Championship (McIntosh) and frankly is a talented and GREAT lacrosse coach. He can provide practice plans, technical instruction, scouting reports, motivation, and access to the best coaches Division I NCAA in the country. If you want someone who can take your program to the next level then why not consider a coach who has been there and can get your program there? I’m not promoting Mike because he’s my good friend, I’m promoting him because that is what I would do if I was in your situation.”

Responsible Coaching
Alberta Lacrosse has taken the pledge and is now a proud Champion of the Responsible Coaching Movement. By making this pledge, our sports organization is committing to implementing supportive policies and processes that adhere to the Responsible Coaching Movement to ensure the safety and protection of our athletes and coaches and provide our coaches with the tools and training necessary to model ethical behavior. The Responsible Coaching Movement (RCM) is a multi-phase system-wide movement, coordinated by the Coaching Association of Canada and the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport that has the potential to affect all sports organizations and coaches.
The First Phase of the RCM focuses on three key areas:
- Rule of Two: the Rule of Two serves to protect minor athletes in potentially vulnerable situations by ensuring that more than one adult is present. Vulnerable situations can include closed doors meetings, travel, and training environments.
- Background Screening: the background screening process involves using a number of different tools to ensure coaches meet the necessary security requirements to coach athletes. These tools include comprehensive job postings, criminal record checks, interviews, and reference checks.
- Respect and Ethics Training: increasing coaches’ ethical conduct and behavior toward athletes requires that coaches be trained to understand what it means to act ethically. This training would include the Make Ethical Decisions module within the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), as well as training in abuse and harassment prevention, such as Respect in Sport, before and during their coaching career.
Over the next three years, with the support of the Coaching Association of Canada, Alberta Lacrosse will be actively reviewing its current policies and procedures to ensure they align with the recommendations and guidelines of the RCM. Working closely with our members and clubs, we will identify realistic ways and means to entrench the Responsible Coaching Movement across our sport and enhance the safety of our athletes and the ethical conduct of our coaches.

Ohio State Lacrosse Clinics Set for Sunday
Joe Ehrmann featured speaker at coaches clinic; proceeds to benefit Finish Hard Foundation
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s lacrosse program will host a coaches clinic Sunday, followed by an individual clinic for players in grades 3-12. Both clinics will be held inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center on the Ohio State campus.
Spots are still available for the coaches clinic, which runs 8 a.m.-noon Sunday. Those interested in attending can register online at OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps or at the door the day of the event. The clinic is open to coaches of all levels, administrators, board members, parents and anyone interested in learning more about coaching and lacrosse. The registration fee is $10 per person. Attendees are encouraged to bring a folding chair.
A few spots remain in the players clinic for goalies. Those interested should register online at OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps. Registration is $50 per player. All spots are filled for offensive and defensive positions.
The keynote speaker at the coaches clinic is Joe Ehrmann, a former NFL player who is now a high school football coach and well-respected speaker on topics ranging from coaching to violence and child advocacy. His story and work has been chronicled by Parade Magazine, NFL Films and in the book Season of Life. More information on Ehrmann is online at http://buildingmenandwomen.org/.
Net proceeds from both clinics will benefit the Finish Hard Foundationin support of former Buckeye assistant coach Dennis Stewart. On Sept. 25, 2009, Stewart, the boys lacrosse assistant head coach at Lake Braddock High School and director of operations for TripleEDGE Lacrosse, suffered a massive stroke. The Finish Hard Foundation was created to help with Stewart’s needs, stroke awareness and continued growth of the game. He has spent his life coaching lacrosse, at the high school level at Lake Braddock High School and Bishop Ireton High School, and in collegiate lacrosse. For more information, visit http://finishhardfoundation.org/.
The coaches clinic features presentations on a number of different topics, including building a culture, the recruiting process and drills for faceoff specialists and goalies.
The individual clinic will be run by Ohio State staff and players, with Ehrmann also addressing the group.

Lacrosse, Anyone? — Parks & Rec Business (PRB)
Kristen Marr, a program leader of a parks and recreation-affiliated program in Little Rock, Ark., also offered praise for the program: “The support materials and curriculum made it so easy for our directors and coaches to hold the event.” We had 64 kids at the clinic, and almost 100 percent signed up for spring teams. Once you give kids a stick, you’ve got them.”
Each TryLax clinic is a partnership between US Lacrosse and the local organization that serves as the host. In addition to a one-year membership and free stick for each participant, US Lacrosse provides the local host with marketing support, event insurance, the clinic curriculum, and up to 10 dozen soft practice balls.
US Lacrosse awarded 84 TryLax clinics across 33 different states in 2019, with 45 more clinics through the first four months of 2020.
Local Support
Launching or growing a program can be an intimidating task alone, so US Lacrosse has managers across the country representing 10 different regions that work in and understand the hyperlocal challenges you may be facing.
To connect with your region’s manager, visit www.uslacrosse.org/program-leaders/regional-managers.
Lacrosse continues to be one of the fastest-growing team sports across the country, but there’s still plenty of opportunity for growth. Offering lacrosse can better engage current athletes looking for a new sport. Through different grants and available local support, adding lacrosse can be a seamless and beneficial experience.
“The US Lacrosse grants are all about the power of the community,” says Jon Stehle, a Fairfax City council member who coaches a team for girls in the Fairfax Police Youth Club. “I can see the return on investment. The grant is expanding the pool of players and actively building the lacrosse community from the ground up.”

“get into trouble” – Beauty Studio “Deja Vu”
What is a problem with women?
The word “trouble” has become quite widespread in films thanks to the catch phrase “get in trouble”, which is interpreted as “getting into a difficult situation.”However, the word “prosak” is used only in everyday slang and the unspoken language of health workers. This term is absent in the medical literature. There is no unambiguous interpretation of the word “prosak”, the meaning of the word in women is associated with the reproductive system. Let’s consider this issue in more detail.
External structure of the female reproductive system
The female reproductive system has a complex internal and external structure. In order to have an idea of certain processes taking place inside the body, and to find out where a woman’s glitch is, you should familiarize yourself in general terms with the physiology of the female genital organs.
The external structure of the female genital organs is as follows:
- pubis;
- clitoris;
- labia majora;
- labia minora;
- urethra;
- hymen or its remains;
- crotch.
Where is the women’s glitch?
It is located within the perineum. It is the perineum in the conventional sense that means a problem in women. It is located between the entrance to the vagina and the anus of the rectum.
Prosak in women is a complex formation of soft tissues with muscles and fascia covering the pelvic floor.
Perineal length is the distance from the pubic bone to the apex of the tailbone. To figure out where the problem is in women, let’s turn to anatomy. Traditionally, the term “glitch” refers to the muscular septum from the vagina to the anus, the length of which rarely exceeds one centimeter. This term is not used in medical manuals and materials, but can be used by a physician in covert communication with patients or among colleagues.
Separation
The perineum is conventionally divided into two parts:
- front;
- back.
The anterior part of the perineum in medical terms is listed as the urogenital diaphragm, the posterior part is called the pelvic diaphragm.
The anterior perineum is located between the posterior walls of the vagina and the anus. The back part starts from the anus and ends at the tip of the tailbone.
Anterior crotch and its importance in obstetrics
If a gynecologist or obstetrician uses the term “women sack”, the relationship is exclusively with the front of the perineum, since the back does not apply to gynecology and its terminology.
During labor, when the baby moves through the birth canal and reaches the pelvic floor, the baby’s head can stretch the muscles of the perineum or cause tissue rupture.
To prevent injury to the perineum, a vertical surgical incision is made from the entrance to the vagina to the anus. This operation is called episiotomy.
The need to cut a hole in women occurs during natural childbirth in most cases. In a special risk zone are future women in labor with a large fetus or re-giving birth. You can get up on your feet immediately after the incision, but it is not recommended to take a sitting position for several weeks before scarring the seam.
How to avoid rupture of the perineum
To avoid rupture of the perineum during childbirth and not to resort to surgical intervention, starting from the 36th week of pregnancy, a number of manipulations should be carried out, adhere to the advice of an obstetrician and generally accepted norms.
- During childbirth, despite painful sensations, the muscles of the perineum should be relaxed.
- It is recommended to massage the perineum daily with emollients. Baby cosmetic oil is often used for this.
- Pregnant women in the last stages are recommended to walk more often so that the pressure of the fetal weight gradually stretches the muscles of the perineum.
If you cannot avoid episiotomy, then it is worth knowing that the glitch in women heals quite quickly, and its incision usually does not cause severe pain.
The condition can be aggravated when lifting heavy objects, bags, so you should be extremely careful.
Back crotch
The muscles of the posterior perineum envelop the anus and the adjacent rectum in a ring of longitudinal fibers, which allows the sphincter of the anus to be compressed, forming a longitudinal slit.
In women, the muscles in the posterior perineum also dig into the vaginal wall and allow the uterus to contract and press on the posterior vaginal wall. With this contraction, the muscles of the posterior perineum and vagina are strengthened.
At its core, this function of a drain in women does not carry important processes for the vital activity of the body, but it is able to prevent prolapse of the cervix.
There are a number of exercise techniques developed with the posterior perineum but designed to strengthen the vaginal walls. Regular exercises to contract the muscles of the vagina will strengthen its walls and make the entrance much narrower, which also prevents the entry of infections from the outside.
Intimate functions
Prosak plays an important role in sexual life, both for men and women. The distance from the entrance to the vagina to the anus is considered one of the most sensitive erogenous zones for a woman, and contraction of the vaginal muscles by compressing the posterior perineum contributes to the achievement of a quick orgasm.
In the male body, under the surface of the trap there is a seminal canal, the stimulation of which can cause ejaculation even without touching the rest of the penis.
These techniques are especially popular in India and among many Asian peoples.
Marina Koroleva talks about the history of the word “prosak” – Rossiyskaya Gazeta
It’s a strange word, isn’t it? Meanwhile, it existed for some time by itself, and it has its own history.
The expression “to be in a mess”, as you know, means to be in an unpleasant, difficult, ambiguous position.
Look, sometimes wise people teach us, if you will be imprudent, then you will “get into a mess.”
If someone does not know – the word “roped” is written together. But this is only now, now! In the old days, this was not the case, and the strange, of course, the word “prosak” existed by itself, without help words.
According to the authoritative Dictionary of Russian Phraseology, in ancient times a spinning mill, rope, rope mill of a large size was called “prosak”. It was a very intricate web of ropes that stretched from the spinning wheel to the sled where they twisted.
The spinning mill in those days was usually located on the street, occupying a very large area. For a spinner, getting into this complex system with clothes or a beard meant losing both at once, and sometimes life itself.
In general, this work was, on the one hand, dangerous, on the other hand, not thinking about these dangers at all – it was somehow completely stupid. After all, who could not have noticed how the ropes are twisted on the machine? Of course, only a very careless and inattentive person.
So it was he who got into trouble.
Of course, it was written separately: IN PROSAK.And in general the combination of the word “prosak” was free.
There were, for example, such difficult-to-understand today combinations as “got into an immense trouble”, “brought me into such a trouble” … And only when the “trouble” itself disappeared from everyday life, the combination “troubled” turned into an adverb and stuck exclusively with the verb “ get there. ”
In essence, the word has become a serf.
However, venerable linguists also have another version, which does not imply any production process, but suggests a long-standing connection with the German word Sackgasse (dead end). And someone generally insists that it is a “mess” from the word “ask.”
Itching in the intimate area in women ?♀️ Causes and treatment
We decided to discuss this problem with our specialist, an obstetrician-gynecologist of the highest category, Alevtina Mikhailovna Harichkova.
She will help us deal with the causes and diseases that irritate the intimate area. Will talk about modern diagnostic methods. Explain by what principles the treatment of itching in the intimate area is formed. It guides what you should pay attention to in order not to miss the disease hiding behind it.
″ Very often patients come to see me with a simple, at first glance, but painful problem: itching in the intimate area. And most often their first question is: “How to treat? How to remove itching in the intimate area? “
Most of them have already undergone examinations, tried to heal on their own, some are already desperate and withdrawn into themselves. Their medical histories are roughly similar, and I often hear the same complaints:
? I have been suffering for several years. Was examined many times. I passed all the tests. There is no infection, but the intimate itching remains!
? I am suffering, I cannot sleep. The itching in the intimate area is tortured, it becomes especially unbearable at night. How to remove it? How to recover? Where to run?
? Alevtina Mikhailovna, help! I have a climax, and then itching appeared. She just stopped feeling like a woman, and there can be no question of any intimacy with her husband. All somersaults.
? Could it be nerves? Tell me what to do so that the itching in the intimate area goes away, how to treat it?
There is no universal answer to all these questions, because treatment, first of all, depends on the cause of the disease.

Very often patients come to see me with a seemingly simple but painful problem: itching in the intimate area. And most often their first question is: “How to treat? How to remove itching in the intimate area? “
Most of them have already undergone examinations, tried to heal on their own, some are already desperate and withdrawn into themselves. Their medical histories are roughly similar, and I often hear the same complaints:

? Could it be nerves? Tell me what to do so that the itching in the intimate area goes away, how to treat it?
There is no universal answer to all these questions, because treatment, first of all, depends on the cause of the disease.
Non-medical causes of itching in the perineal region
I want to start with the simplest and most common reasons. They are easily corrected and do not require additional specialist intervention. Therefore, first of all, I exclude the so-called exogenous (external) causes of itching in the intimate area in patients.
In these cases, special treatment for intimate itching in women is not required. It is enough only to eliminate external irritating factors. The most common causes of discomfort in the genital area can be:
Mechanical damage during shaving, depilation, sexual intercourse.Scuffs, cracks and irritation cause not only pain, but also itching in the intimate area. That is why it is necessary to observe precautions: use lubricant during sex and special products that moisturize the skin during or after shaving and hair removal.
Uncomfortable underwear made of synthetic materials. It is one of the most common and easily corrected exogenous causes of genital itching. You just need to replace synthetic and uncomfortable underwear with comfortable ones made from natural breathable materials.
Irregular or lack of hygiene. It is unacceptable to neglect the rules of personal hygiene. It is because of its absence that the groin area can itch. You should wash your genitals regularly and change your pads and tampons frequently during your period.
Reaction to care products. Dryness and flaking along with itching can occur due to the use of the wrong products with high acidity levels. You can avoid such a reaction if you buy only proven intimate hygiene gels.
And now I have to scare you a little. We turn to gynecological diseases in which this seemingly harmless symptom manifests itself.
Diseases and conditions causing itching in the intimate area
Kraurosis vulva
First of all, let’s talk about such a disease as Lichen sclerosus of the vulva (in our country its old name Krauroz has taken root more). I put it first on purpose. Over the years of existence in our clinic of the Department of treatment of vulvar kraurosis , we drew attention to how often patients suffering from this ailment began to contact us.How many of them are young, hormonally active women. How the disease is diagnosed and “started” out of time. As a result, more effort and time is required for the treatment to bring the expected result.
Itching in the perineal region with this disease is most often not accompanied by discharge, as is the case with an infection. It occurs against the background of atrophic processes in the mucous membrane. And if you do not carry out treatment, over time, sclerosis and deformation of the external genital organs will develop.
A characteristic feature of itching with kraurosis of the vulva is a constant character with an increase at night, after physical exertion, a hot shower. This condition exhausts the woman so much that it forces her to talk about the desire to commit suicide in order to get rid of this “hell”. Fortunately, our clinic is equipped with all the necessary modern equipment, including a CO2 laser, and the accumulated experience combined with professional skills allows us to successfully treat this pathology. The main thing I always ask for is, please, do not self-medicate, do not delay the appointment for a consultation.
Itching in the intimate area is a very serious symptom that requires examination and mandatory treatment.
Leukoplakia of the vulva
Vulvar leukoplakia is similar in clinical symptoms to kraurosis. It is often confused even by clinicians, because outwardly, the foci of atrophy in leukoplakia and kraurosis are similar. But if with kraurosis sclerotic and atrophic processes are more pronounced, then with leukoplakia, epithelial hyperplasia occurs. Common to the two diseases is a complaint of debilitating itching in the intimate area. It is also worse at night and is not accompanied by a discharge. Although it is worth noting that with kraurosis, itching is more pronounced. The diagnosis and differential diagnosis with kraurosis is carried out according to the results of histology and extended vulvoscopy. Unfortunately, vulvar leukoplakia, as well as kraurosis, is difficult to cure, so our main goal in treatment is to rid the patient of unbearable itching and create a stable, long-term remission. In the future, patients with kraurosis and vulvar leukoplakia should be under constant dispensary supervision by a gynecologist, since in some cases these pathologies can degenerate into cancer.
Itching with menopause
Similar complaints of itching in the perineal region without discharge and odor often appear in women in menopause. It arises as a result of hormonal changes in the body and estrogen-progesterone deficiency formed against the background of menopause. The mucous membrane of the intimate zone reacts to this one of the first and not for the better. Lacto- and bifidobacteria, which are the basis of normal vaginal microbiocenosis, suffer. Since in nature “a holy place is never empty”, they are replaced by another, often pathogenic microflora.Vaginitis and vulvovaginitis develop, which I will discuss below. Among other things, against the background of menopause, regenerative processes slow down, atrophy of the mucous membrane is formed, and the production of natural secretions decreases. This leads to complaints of dryness, tightness, itching in the perineum. Fortunately, atrophic vulvovaginitis, unlike lichen sclerosus, does not lead to deformity of the vulva. The modern arsenal of pharmaceuticals allows you to easily carry out treatment and relieve the patient from obsessive itching in the intimate area.
Infection
Infectious vaginitis, vulvovaginitis and colpitis and the problems caused by them are the most common in gynecology. Both young and old patients suffer from them. At the appointment, they usually complain of itching in the intimate area with discharge and an unpleasant odor. Depending on the infectious agent, the discharge is cheesy, whitish, serous and purulent. Microorganisms causing this symptomatology can be:
Mycoplasma;
Staphylococcus aureus;
Streptococcus;
Yeast-like fungi;
Viruses.
Our task is to identify the pathogen and carry out etiotropic treatment. With this approach, it is possible to alleviate the condition quickly enough. In addition to the standard examination, our clinic uses the method of laboratory diagnostics by the method of CMS (chromatography-mass spectrometry). Thanks to her, we are able to identify more than 20 microorganisms in one study, to determine the biocenosis of the vagina and vulva. Choose a rational antibiotic therapy that can heal without disturbing the normal microflora.
Sexually transmitted diseases
The development of laboratory diagnostics, especially the introduction into widespread practice of PCR methods, has led to the identification and study of infectious agents that become infected during sexual intercourse. STDs can be almost asymptomatic, and can cause discomfort and itching of the perineum. Itching in this case is accompanied by a discharge with a characteristic unpleasant odor. It is necessary to prescribe the treatment of genital infections for two sexual partners at once.In this case, we will achieve the desired result and will not allow complications. After all, sexually transmitted infections can be one of the factors of male and female infertility.
Pregnancy
During pregnancy, a woman’s body undergoes a number of certain changes, including hormonal ones. But even this is not a reason to endure itching, which often occurs in women who are expecting a baby. The most common cause is thrush. By the way, this infectious disease can occur outside of pregnancy.Vaginal candidiasis is caused by the rapid spread of yeast. It causes not only a constant desire to scratch, but also a white or milky cheesy discharge, sometimes this condition is accompanied by burning and pain.
Genital infections, typical for pregnant dermatitis, excessive consumption of protein, spicy or salty foods very often leads to severe burning sensation in the perineum during pregnancy.
Oncology
Itching in such cases is not the main symptom. Most often, it occurs in the later stages or with the addition of a secondary infection. We, gynecologists, are always in a certain vigilance on cancer in order to be able to identify the disease in time and provide the necessary assistance in a timely manner. Therefore, my standard examination is always accompanied by the taking of scrapings for cytological examination, allowing at an early stage to identify atypia and dysplasia of cells.
Other causes of itching in the intimate area
Perhaps I have listed the main gynecological causes of itching in the perineum. She spoke a little about the tactics of managing and treating such patients. I would like to note that this symptom can also occur with somatic diseases.
Diabetes mellitus
Diabetes is a serious disease characterized by an increase in blood glucose levels, impaired microcirculation and tissue trophism. All this creates a beneficial environment for the growth and development of yeast fungi, which are very often the main cause of itching in the intimate area during diabetes mellitus.
Due to frequent scratching, ulcers and cracks are formed, including on the external genitals. At the first stage of development, they cause severe itching, which is subsequently accompanied by acute pain.
The skin of diabetic patients often becomes dry, hypersensitive, microcracks form on it, causing the desire to scratch the intimate area.
In order to relieve itching and alleviate suffering, such patients require treatment by an endocrinologist and gynecologist. Only by making joint efforts will it be possible to stop the condition.
Allergy
Allergic dermatitis can also cause itching of the vulva. It is difficult to confuse it with something else, because most often it is accompanied by characteristic rashes. There is no odorless and odorless discharge with it. Usually, a gynecologist can easily diagnose an allergic nature based on the clinical picture and prescribe an alleviating therapy. But to find out the reason, that is, to find the allergen, only an examination will help. Treatment in this case will consist, first of all, in eliminating the factor that caused such a reaction.
Side effects from taking medications. Therefore, before you start taking medicines, be sure to carefully read the instructions. Usually, manufacturers warn in advance about the side effects and drug interactions of the active substance.
Pubic lice
The defeat of the pubic area with parasites occurs during close contact with an infected partner or even at home. Pubic lice are not a big danger. But they require timely treatment, otherwise the itching caused by their presence will become unbearable.
Diagnostics and identification of the cause
In most cases, we can easily diagnose the cause of genital itching. The only thing I always ask the patients about is not to delay visiting the gynecologist.
A diagnostic search always begins with the collection of complaints and anamnesis. Next, I move on to the examination and form an examination algorithm that will help determine the cause of the scratching and make the correct diagnosis.
When making an appointment with me, be prepared for the following manipulations.
I will carry out sampling from the genitals to determine the flora and the degree of purity of sexually transmitted infections. Samples of tissue, secretions and other biomaterials are applied to sterile glass or placed in a test tube and then examined in the laboratory. With their help, it is possible to obtain data on the presence of organisms that caused infection and inflammation, antibiotic therapy is selected.
I’ll take a scraping for cytology. This mandatory study is done to exclude the oncological process.
I will conduct an extended vulvo- and colposcopy with staining the affected areas with special preparations that help to identify a particular problem. If during this procedure I find pathological formations that require histological examination, I will carry out a tissue biopsy. In the future, this fragment (or fragments) will be sent for histology. This type of diagnostics is one of the most reliable in medicine and is used in all specialties.
In some cases, I need general and biochemical blood tests to rule out somatic problems. After all, the cause of scratching in the groin can be: diabetes mellitus, renal failure, cholestasis, blood diseases, etc.
Based on the results of these routine studies, I get the opportunity to draw up a clinical picture of the disease, diagnose and prescribe the appropriate treatment.
The specialization and equipment of our clinic allows me to carry out treatment by all methods available to medicine, including high technologies. We were one of the first Moscow clinics to start using CO2 laser for the treatment of gynecological diseases and achieved some success in this. Our gynecological clinic on Trubnaya is known not only in Moscow, but also far beyond its borders. ″

Perineal incision during childbirth
why is it needed
In obstetrics, the term “perineum” refers to the small distance between the vagina and the anus. This is the place that obstetricians-gynecologists mean when they talk about a rupture or incision of the perineum. During labor, the baby’s head moves through the birth canal and reaches the pelvic floor, stretching the muscles and skin of the perineum. The maximum load on the perineal tissue is experienced during the second stage of labor, when the baby’s head is erupted. It is at this point that the perineum can rupture. To prevent this from happening, episiotomy is done – a surgical incision in the perineum, between the vagina and the anus .A surgical incision is always better than a spontaneous rupture, because it has smooth edges and heals faster than a laceration. In addition, the doctor can control the length of the incision, and a spontaneous rupture runs the risk of stretching both a long distance and a great depth.
how it happens
The perineum is dissected at the end of the second stage of labor, if characteristic signs of an approaching rupture appear – protrusion of the perineum, cyanosis, edema, pallor of the skin. The incision is about 2–3 cm long, with minimal blood loss. And the most important thing is that this manipulation is completely painless: at the height of the pushing, the perineal tissues are so overstretched that the blood flow stops in them, respectively, the pain is not felt . But the incision is sutured under local anesthesia, so that again the woman does not feel any severe pain, they do this after the baby and the placenta are born. While mom is in the hospital, the postpartum midwife treats the stitches with antiseptics every day.Sometimes in the first three days with swelling in the area of the seams, ice is applied to them.
and then what?
Those women who had a perineal incision during childbirth will need to follow some rules. If, after a normal delivery with an episiotomy, it is allowed to walk almost immediately (by the end of the first day, for sure), then cannot sit after an episiotomy for two whole weeks – and this is the main inconvenience after this manipulation. You will need to feed the child in a supine position, and you will have to eat while standing or lying down.If you still need to sit down (for example, you have a trip in the car), you can use the seat pad (sold in pharmacies) or a children’s swimming ring. It will be possible to sit down completely when the stitches are completely healed: most often this happens in the first two weeks after childbirth.
In the first few days after giving birth, you do not need to push hard during bowel movements, if necessary, you can use a laxative.
we take care of the seam
· At home, you need to continue to process the incision site – while still in the hospital, you should ask the doctor what antiseptic you need and how often you need to treat the seam.
· For the incision to heal faster and better, it is necessary to change the pads frequently – every 3-4 hours. You can also take an air bath once or twice a day.
· After each visit to the toilet, the external genitals should be washed and the perineum should be gently patted dry. In addition to ordinary running water, you can use a solution of chamomile, calendula.
· If there is swelling in the area of the seams, then you can briefly apply a chilled gel bag, ice to them.
pay attention
For some time after the episiotomy, there may be some pain in the suture area, possibly burning, discomfort, irritation and swelling of the skin – this is a normal phenomenon: after all, there was a surgical intervention and it takes time for the tissues to recover. In general, the perineal incision heals most often without complications – only a small skin scar remains, which eventually becomes almost invisible.
But sometimes healing is delayed or complicated by some kind of inflammation, for example, it happens if a woman has colpitis – inflammation of the vagina. Then the pain, swelling either intensifies, or simply does not go away for a long time, in the area of the seam there is a feeling of pulsation, twitching, bursting, and there may even be purulent discharge. Then you need to immediately consult a doctor, he will examine the seam and prescribe treatment.
how to avoid
Of course, episiotomy during childbirth is not done to everyone, but only according to indications. But still, every woman wants to avoid it. To do this, you need to behave correctly in childbirth: the main thing is not to be clamped, you must, on the contrary, try to “open up” as much as possible in order to release the child. How to do this, as well as how to behave in and between contractions, how to breathe, what postures to take, how to reduce labor pain, will be taught at school for future parents. Such preparation, as well as an optimistic attitude, will help to transfer childbirth, and, possibly, avoid an incision.
And starting from 36 weeks of pregnancy, perineal massage with oil can be performed daily. And although there is no statistical data that such a massage reduces the likelihood of an episiotomy, nevertheless, the tissues of the perineum will be slightly moistened, stretched, the woman will feel her body better – all this is also a small prevention of surgical manipulation.
Do not think that episiotomy in childbirth is done to everyone “just in case”, as people who are far from medicine often write. No, the doctor and midwife also want to avoid this intervention as much as possible, so if you still had to do an episiotomy, treat it with understanding – after all, this incision helps to keep the woman healthy.
In order not to fall into a hole, buyers must be more vigilant
March 15, Gomel / Corr. BELTA /. Half of Gomel residents’ appeals to the trade department in 2020 related to consumer protection.Deputy Head of the Department of Trade and Services of the Gomel City Executive Committee Svetlana Burakova told reporters about this at a briefing, BelTA has learned.
90,080 According to Svetlana Burakova, in 2020, the department registered 194 appeals for the protection of consumer rights. “There is no growth compared to 2019. In total, the department received about 390 calls. Most often, problematic issues are related to the sphere of trade, she said. – However, it is more difficult to deal with consumer services, since they provide for a contractual form of work. The most important thing here is not to miss the moment and conclude an agreement. There are other nuances that the average consumer does not know about. For example, when providing transport services or repairing a car, it is necessary that, in addition to the contract itself, there is an act of acceptance and an act of transfer. At the same time, large service stations draw up the necessary documents, but small business entities commit violations. But we, as consumers, must be able to protect ourselves. ”
A significant flow of applications in the field of trade was associated with the epidemiological situation and the introduction of the mask regime in Gomel and the region. The townspeople noted that at the checkout in stores they were denied a purchase due to the lack of personal protective equipment for respiratory organs – masks. The second most popular question is about price tags. There is often a situation when one price is indicated on the shelf, and another is knocked out at the checkout. “Of course, the human factor is not excluded here, negligence, perhaps the equipment has not been properly modernized,” Svetlana Burakova emphasized. There are many requests for refusal to provide citizens with a book of comments and suggestions.
The deputy head of the department noted that citizens are ready to discuss, debate and say that they are not satisfied with service or purchase. “But business entities do not always treat the opinion of citizens with understanding and bring the situation to the point of contacting different authorities,” she said.
A lot of requests are received on the development of a retail network in the regional center, the opening of facilities within walking distance. “This desire is understandable. We all want there to be a shop next to the house where we could buy the missing products: the same bread or milk. But this is not always possible, although issues are resolved over time. So, for example, at the beginning of the year a store of this format was opened on Malaychuka Street, ”said Svetlana Burakova.
The department of trade and services emphasizes that there are also non-standard situations. One of them had to be dealt with by specialists. So, a family turned, suspected of deceiving a company from which they ordered the installation of a double-glazed window. “People have doubts about the quality of the product and the installation service. A contract was signed with them for the installation of plastic windows. When considering the appeal, it was found that the young man – the representative of the company – had several options for contracts. According to one of them, he designed the installation of a PVC window. Then, according to an ad on the Internet site, I found a used version according to the measurements of the window. I bought it and installed it. However, doubts crept in people. People turned to our office, ”Svetlana Burakova emphasized.
The specialists found themselves in a difficult situation: on the one hand, the company denied the fact of signing the contract, consumers presented their version of the document. As it turned out, the young man, who by that time did not work in the firm, had indeed signed a certain contract. He planned to open his own business and provide similar services in the future. In this way I wanted to earn capital. Proceedings were started.
A whole series of appeals related to the activities of trade objects, which held exhibitions, sales and presentations in Gomel. They brought expensive goods, collected elderly citizens or women, to whom they described the merits of the goods in all colors. They talked about bonuses, gifts, and treated them to tea. “And our people, having got into such a situation, got lost, they wanted to take part in it. They made expensive purchases, for example, a chair or a blanket massager for Br4 thousand. Later, usually after 1-3 days, their veils seemed to fall off, they became aware. They contacted us, asked to help return the purchase back. We explain that according to the law, it is possible to return the goods of good quality back within 14 days, but for this it is necessary to go either to Grodno or to Brest, where the objects of trade are registered. In this case, all gifts must be returned along with the gifts. Another important condition is that people did not use this product, ”said Svetlana Burakova. However, the elderly do not always dare to travel hundreds of kilometers.
There was a case when a woman bought a mattress worth Br3.5 thousand. At the same time, the product did not fit her in size, it was half and shorter than the bed, and the promised massage effect was not there. At the time of delivery, the happy owner was happy with everything. Later, the customer regained her sight and saw all the shortcomings.
The department of trade and services appealed to all senior citizens – it is important to share plans for attending such events with your family and friends. Perhaps they will protect you from a rash acquisition. After all, they then have to go to the authorities with their mothers and fathers, grandfathers and grandmothers.
“In order not to get into a difficult situation, consumers must protect themselves. Carefully study the agreement before signing it, because it is quite difficult to terminate the document. This case is being considered already in the judicial plane. And before making expensive purchases, it is at least worthwhile to study reviews on the Internet. In all cases, first of all, it is necessary to be vigilant and attentive “, – summed up Svetlana Burakova. -0-
Genital herpes – treatment and symptoms, diagnosis of genital herpes in Moscow, Clinical Hospital on Yauza
Genital herpes during pregnancy
Is genital herpes transmitted from mother to fetus in pregnant women? If the primary infection with the virus occurs during pregnancy, especially in the first half of it, then there is a possibility of the virus penetrating the fetus with the development of intrauterine infection and impaired fetal development. This is a formidable complication of genital herpes, and, fortunately, it is very rare.
If the virus was present in a woman’s body before pregnancy, then her immune system, already familiar with the herpes virus, effectively protects the fetus during pregnancy, and infection is possible only during childbirth, and then with the condition that at this moment the disease is in an active phase … Therefore, it is especially important not to miss the recurrence of genital herpes activity during pregnancy in order to start treatment on time and prevent the transmission of the virus to the child during childbirth.

Diagnosis of genital herpes
Which doctor should I contact with genital herpes?
In the Yauza Clinical Hospital, this disease begins with a clinical examination by a specialized specialist (gynecologist or urologist), and is confirmed by laboratory tests. If necessary, a consultation of related specialists (immunologist) is carried out.
What tests should I take for genital herpes?
Laboratory diagnostics solves 2 problems:
- to determine the presence of the herpes simplex virus or contact with it: for this, they examine the blood, vaginal discharge, urethra, semen, urine of the patient for the presence of antibodies to the herpes simplex virus in it, or particles of the virus itself;
- to prove the “involvement” of these rashes to genital herpes: the material taken directly from the vesicles or ulcers is being investigated.
Also, in order to select an effective therapy, it is necessary to accurately determine the type of pathogen – this question is answered by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR).

Treatment of genital herpes
How is genital herpes treated? Unfortunately, at the moment there is no way to completely destroy the virus in the body, to cure genital herpes once and for all. However, the specialists of the Clinical Hospital on Yauza have developed a treatment regimen that keeps the pathogen inactive and significantly reduces the likelihood of recurrence of genital herpes in men and women.
Targets of therapy:
- Removal of local manifestations – rash, painful ulcers, itching.
- The earliest relief of relapse.
- Strengthening immunity, maintaining long-term stable remission.
The complex of treatment measures includes:
- Antiviral drugs – oral and local use, which are selected individually. One of the most effective in the treatment of genital virus is acyclovir (tablets, injections, cream, ointment).
- Appointment of immunomodulators, immunostimulants.
Patients with rare exacerbations are treated with episodic therapy. Those who have a difficult disease (frequent relapses due to the individual characteristics of the immune system – its low activity against the herpes virus) are shown a long course of pharmacotherapy – systemic therapy.
Despite the fact that there are no methods for a complete cure for herpes, the doctor will select drugs that will reduce the frequency of relapses. This way, you can live a fulfilling life without regular flare-ups of the disease. Make an appointment with a specialist to avoid complications and relapses.
Treatment of genital herpes during pregnancy
First of all, it should be noted that there is a group of antiviral drugs that can be used with complete safety for a developing fetus.
Indications for Treatment:
- primary infection during pregnancy,
- the occurrence of relapses of the disease and
- prevention of relapse before childbirth.
Taking into account the possibility of an asymptomatic course of the disease during a relapse, it is necessary to carry out periodic examinations of a woman throughout pregnancy and, especially in the last weeks before childbirth.
By contacting the Clinical Hospital on Yauza, you are guaranteed to receive qualified advice from a specialized specialist, error-free diagnosis of your condition, effective treatment of the identified disease, prevention of exacerbations of genital herpes and its complications.Take care of your health – make an appointment with your gynecologist or urologist right now!

Anti-inflammatories for perineal pain relief after childbirth
What is the problem (question)?
After giving birth, many women experience pain in the perineum, the area between the anus and vagina. This Cochrane Review addresses the question of whether this pain can be reduced with a single dose of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) such as aspirin or ibuprofen.
Why is this important?
Some women experience particularly severe perineal pain after childbirth if the perineum is torn or an incision is required (a procedure known as an episiotomy).Even women who gave birth without a perineal tear or surgery often experience some perineal discomfort that can affect a woman’s activity and her ability to care for her baby. This review is part of a series of reviews on the effectiveness of various medications used to relieve pain in perineal pain immediately after childbirth. This review looks at NSAIDs such as aspirin and ibuprofen.
What evidence have we found?
90,080 We found 28 studies involving 4181 women that examined 13 different NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.)) We include studies conducted up to 31 March 2016. The studies we found included only women who had suffered perineal trauma and who were not breastfeeding. The studies were conducted between 1967 and 2013 and were small and of poor quality.
Studies have shown that a single dose of NSAIDs provide greater pain relief when assessed at 4 hours (low-quality evidence) or 6 hours (very low-quality evidence) after ingestion, compared to placebo (dummy pill) or no treatment in lactating women who have suffered perineal trauma during childbirth.Women who received single doses of NSAIDs also required less additional pain relief at 4 hours (low-quality evidence) or 6 hours (low-quality evidence) after the initial dose, compared with women who took placebo or did not receive treatment. Not all studies evaluated the adverse effects of the intervention, but some reported adverse effects in mothers, such as drowsiness, headache, weakness, nausea, and stomach discomfort. However, there was no clear difference in the incidence of adverse effects at 6 hours post-dose between groups (very low quality evidence). One small study reported no adverse effects in mothers 4 hours after taking the drug (low-quality evidence). None of the studies evaluated possible adverse effects in children.
90,080 NSAIDs also appeared to be better than paracetamol in pain relief when assessed 4 hours (but not 6 hours) after drug administration, although such comparisons were made in only three small studies.Women who received a single dose of NSAIDs also required less additional pain relief 6 hours (but not 4 hours) after taking the medication, compared with women who received paracetamol. There were no adverse effects in mothers 4 hours after taking the medication (according to one small study). Three small studies reported adverse effects in mothers assessed 6 hours after taking the drug, but there were no clear differences between groups.Adverse effects in children were not reported in any of the included studies. Also, all studies excluded women who were breastfeeding.
Comparisons of different NSAIDs and different doses of the same NSAID did not show any clear differences in their effectiveness in relation to the main outcomes assessed in this review. However, there was little data available for some NSAIDs.
None of the included studies reported any of the secondary outcomes considered in this review, including: increased length of hospital stay or readmission for perineal pain; breastfeeding, perineal pain 6 weeks after childbirth, women’s opinions, postpartum depression, and the degree of disability due to perineal pain.
What does this mean?
For women who are not breastfeeding, a single dose of NSAIDs may relieve perineal pain when evaluated 4 and 6 hours after taking the medication. Paracetamol can provide similar benefits. No serious side effects were reported, but not all studies addressed this issue. There are no data available for breastfeeding women and these women should seek help as some NSAIDs are not recommended for breastfeeding.

Freestyle Wrestling Certification – Other 2021
NCEP Function
The National Coach Education Program (NCEP) is a series of courses that all individuals must complete before becoming certified US wrestling trainers. Coaches must obtain at least the first of four certification levels to prepare wrestlers for any regional, state or national competition, including the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA), which oversees Olympic wrestling.
Copper certification
Copper is the basic certification required for all wrestling coaches. These are usually volunteers or parents who want to get a basic understanding of wrestling and coaching techniques. The curriculum consists of three hours of classroom instruction followed by one hour of instruction. The Beginner Coach Fighting Guide is used as a teaching tool; after the clinic, a home test is carried out. Anyone who takes a course with a grade of at least 80 percent will receive a copper certificate.
Bronze Certification
Bronze is the first of the advanced certifications that NCEP offers. It is for people who train all age groups from volunteers to the elite of the international level who want to be the trainers of the national team. Wrestling techniques, ambulance and sports sciences are all part of the curriculum. Coaches can skip Copper and head straight to Bronze, although a basic knowledge of coaching and wrestling techniques is valuable. The Bronze Curriculum consists of a six-hour clinic followed by self-study from the US Wrestling Coach’s Guide to Excellence. This is followed by a test that must be passed with a grade of 80 percent or higher.
Silver certification
Silver Certification must attend a five-day workshop at NCEP Coach College. They learn about wrestling research and practical applications of coaching. Only trainers who have passed the Bronze certification can upgrade to Silver. For a comprehensive overview of the requirements for Silver certification, see the Resources section of this article.
Gold Certification
The highest level of NCEP certification is awarded to individuals with at least five years of experience and education in wrestling coaching. Individuals must have Silver Certificates before upgrading to Gold. In addition, coaches who have competed in the world freestyle or Greco-Roman wrestling tournaments or have placed the top six in the FILA world level tournament of A level or higher are eligible for a Gold level technical certificate in freestyle or Greco-Roman wrestling. All coaches will take part in the World Team training camp and complete 12 tasks described in the overview of the Silver Certification requirements.
Coaching at other levels
Coaches in schools and colleges, where competitors compete at the amateur level, can train independently. However, there are certifications, courses and tutorials to help coaches master the basics of wrestling. Reputable organizations offering certifications and courses include the National Association of Wrestling Trainers, the American Academy of Coaching, and Scientific Wrestling.

History of creation
In June 2009, MTV announced that it was going to shoot a new version of the classic youth comedy 1985 with Michael J. Fox – according to them, the project will be more serious, it will expand the mythology of the werewolf universe, and will also be a genre a mixture of drama, romantic comedy and horror. This is the second television adaptation of the film after the animated series of the same name, produced by CBS and aired from 1986 to 1987.
The search for actors began in December 2009. Tyler Posey, Crystal Reed, Tyler Hochlin, Deeline O’Brian, Holland Roden and Colton Haynes were cast in the lead roles. Posey got the lead role of schoolboy Scott McCall being bitten by a werewolf; Reed played the role of newcomer Allison Argent, who immediately falls in love with Scott; Hochlin plays Derek Hale, a predatory werewolf; O’Brian got the role of Scott’s best friend, Stiles; Roden plays Lydia Martin, a popular and power-hungry schoolgirl, and Haynes plays Jackson Wittmore, Scott’s main rival in lacrosse and in life.
Filming for the first 12 episodes of the show began in October 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia. Australian director Russell Mulcahy directed the pilot of the series. Dino Meneghin became the composer of the show. The pilot’s first eight minutes were posted on the official MTV website on May 31, 2011.
On October 19, 2011, some details of the second season, which premiered in 2012, became known on the official Facebook page.
Translations and voice acting
We have a series of “Teen Wolf” can be viewed in a variety of voice acting.Unfortunately, well-known translation and voice acting studios did not undertake the series, but this in no way diminishes the quality of the rest of the voice acting. For your choice there are the following voiceovers: VO-production – a creative association that translates and dubs many TV series. Voice acting from Alt Pro – amateur voice acting, but quite vigorous and high quality. Sony Sci-Fi – Official voiceovers from Sony Sci-Fi, the quality is about what you would expect from a major channel. As you can see, everyone will find a voice acting to their liking!
Similarities and differences from films
In both versions of the story, the plot is centered on an ordinary, at times insecure teenager. Thanks to the changes in the body associated with lycanthropy, the hero becomes physically stronger and emotionally relaxed. Just like in the show, Scott’s friend is called Stiles – he brings comic relief to the story. In addition, like the original, the new version tries to “play” with the audience through their representations of a werewolf derived from Hollywood films. In the film, the city is called Beacontown, and in the TV series, Beacon Hills.
One of the main differences between movies and TV shows is their genre. The MTV series is a mystical drama with comedy elements, while the 1985 film is a mystical youth comedy. The humor in the series is darker, but in the spirit of the original. In various promos, the creators said that they were greatly influenced by Joss Whedon’s cult series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. At one time, Whedon said: “School is a horror film in itself.I shared my vision and sold the idea. ” The authors said that they are not going to introduce vampires into the series, although the appearance of other mystical creatures is possible.
In the new version, Scott plays lacrosse instead of basketball. In the original, Scott inherited the ability to transform into a wolf from his father, while in the series, the boy was attacked by a werewolf in the forest. Stiles’ clothes are similar in both the film and the TV series – they are bright T-shirts, although now they depict the Beatles and the logo of the Royal Air Force of Great Britain, and not offensive statements, as in the film.

Riddles about the wolf
Riddles about the wolf will help introduce children to the world of wildlife. In cartoons and fairy tales, he is often cheerful and kind, even simple-minded, which is why he can easily be deceived by a cheating fox. However, in reality it is a formidable predator with powerful fangs.
